Up to now, fantasy novel and its translation have drawn increasing attention of scholars from home and abroad. This paper focuses on a fantasy novel which has never been analyzed from this perspective. The paper makes a comparison between the English and Chinese versions of the novel Twilight from the perspective of Halliday's three metafunctions, interpersonal function, ideational function and textual function, to give an in-depth study on the similarities and differences of two different languages and then put forward some beneficial suggestions for translators to understand and trans late fantasy novel comprehensively. 展开更多

Having spent most of the nineties as a buzz-word in literature and culture,its haunting presence appears to have faded somewhat. With the end of TV serials such as Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel and the current lack of interest in the so-called Gothic images that used to inundate media and popular culture,the question arises yet again as to what significance the Gothic bears for contemporary literature?Importantly,what remains to be taken into account by such critics is the presence of fundamental Gothic elements in literary postmodernist texts. By this,I refer to works definable under the paradigm of postmodernism; experimental,radical and often metalfictional literature which problematises the relationship between reality and fiction,reader and text. The purpose of this article is to fill this gap in literary criticism by proposing a theoretical approach to postmodernist texts that are definitively Gothic. 展开更多

This study is concerned with determining the altitude of the sun under the horizon to the beginning and the end of the true and pseudo dawn and dusk. In 2007 and 2008, the Sky Quality Meter (SQM) was used in four regions in Malaysia to measure the brightness at night, pseudo dawn, true dawn, true dusk and pseudo dusk. The measurements were taken when the device was directed to the position of sunrise and sunset at the horizontal angle of the sunrise or sunset and at five degrees above the horizon during the entire monitoring period. The altitude of the sun for the true dusk was found to be -14.38&deg;± 0.91&deg;and for the beginning of the pseudo dusk was found to be -14.86&deg;± 0.91&deg;and the end of the pseudo dusk is -17.8&deg;± 0.7&deg;, while for the beginning of the true dawn it was found to be -14.19&deg;± 0.52&deg;(for high confidence -14.71&deg;) and for the pseudo dawn was found to be -18.62&deg;± 0.82&deg;. The light magnitude of the full night after the pseudo dusk was found to be 20.77 ± 0.93 mag./arcsec<sup>2</sup>, while it was found to be 22.17 ± 0.1 mag./arcsec<sup>2</sup> before the pseudo dawn. 展开更多

2025年可视为“氛围编程”元年,标志着编程从以代码为中心的显性操作转向以意图为核心、嵌入环境的交互实践。氛围编程由环境计算、宁静技术与后界面设计三大技术脉络汇集而成,其核心在于通过无限上下文、自主自愈能力及多模态交互三项... 2025年可视为“氛围编程”元年,标志着编程从以代码为中心的显性操作转向以意图为核心、嵌入环境的交互实践。氛围编程由环境计算、宁静技术与后界面设计三大技术脉络汇集而成,其核心在于通过无限上下文、自主自愈能力及多模态交互三项技术闭环,实现了从“人类编写代码、机器执行”向“人类设定意图、环境自动生成并维系代码”的范式转变。这一变革打破了传统编程的“语法霸权”,通过自然语言极大降低了软件生产门槛,并以实时反馈缩短了构思与实现的距离。然而,氛围编程亦面临五大挑战:意图与实现的断层、幻觉与不确定性、长程架构坍塌、工程美学丧失以及资源消耗危机。从深层次上看,它可能导致责任结构瓦解、技术理性退化及“数字文明的黄昏”。真正的风险不在于AI取代代码编写,而在于人类是否因放弃学习过程而丧失对所创造世界的理解义务。 展开更多

The interactions between clouds and aerosols represent one of the largest uncertainties in assessing the Earth's radiation budget, highlighting the importance of research on the transition zone(TZ) within the cloud-aerosol continuum.This study assesses the global distribution of TZ conditions, analyzes its optical characteristics, and determines the cloud or aerosol types most commonly associated with them, using the cloud-aerosol discrimination(CAD) score of the CloudAerosol Lidar with Orthogonal Polarization(CALIOP) instrument on the CALIPSO satellite. The CAD score classifies clouds and aerosols by the probability density functions of attenuated backscatter, total color ratio, volume depolarization ratio, altitude, and latitude. After applying several filters to avoid artifacts, the TZ was identified as those atmospheric layers that cannot be clearly classified as clouds or aerosols, layers within the no-confidence range(NCR) of the CAD score, and cirrus fringes. The optical characteristics of NCR layers exhibit two main clusters: Cluster 1, with properties between high-altitude ice clouds and aerosols(e.g., wispy cloud fragments), and Cluster 2, with properties between water clouds and aerosols at lower altitudes(e.g., large hydrated aerosols). Our results highlight the significant ubiquity of TZ conditions, which appear in 9.5% of all profiles and comprise 6.4% of the detected layers. Cluster 1 and cirrus-fringe layers predominate near the ITCZ and in mid-latitudes, whereas Cluster 2 layers are more frequent over the oceans along the central West African and East Asian coasts, where elevated smoke and dusty marine aerosols are common. 展开更多

洞穴是喀斯特景观中普遍存在的地质地貌结构,拥有丰富的植物资源。仅2001–2020年间,就发表了中国喀斯特洞穴维管植物新属1个;新种(含种下等级)170个,隶属于16科31属,占近20年发表的中国维管植物新种的3.9%,说明洞穴植物具有较高的物种... 洞穴是喀斯特景观中普遍存在的地质地貌结构,拥有丰富的植物资源。仅2001–2020年间,就发表了中国喀斯特洞穴维管植物新属1个;新种(含种下等级)170个,隶属于16科31属,占近20年发表的中国维管植物新种的3.9%,说明洞穴植物具有较高的物种多样性潜力。据统计,中国喀斯特洞穴维管植物有110科339属871种,主要分布于广西、广东、贵州、云南、重庆等地。物种数排名前5的科包括苦苣苔科、荨麻科、鳞毛蕨科、秋海棠科和茜草科,其所含物种数共占整个洞穴植物种类的39.4%;排名前5的属包括报春苣苔属(Primulina)、楼梯草属(Elatostema)、耳蕨属(Polystichum)、秋海棠属(Begonia)和凤尾蕨属(Pteris),其所含物种数共占整个洞穴植物种类的25.1%。本名录的所有洞穴植物中,草本习性的种类占一半以上。从洞内分布来看,仅有10.7%的种类分布于弱光带,其中石松类和蕨类植物占比远高于被子植物,说明前者更能适应弱光带的极端环境。不仅如此,洞穴维管植物也具有较高的特有性成分,其中省级特有种占比25.8%,分别包括非洞穴特有种(11.0%)、多洞穴特有种(3.3%)和单洞穴特有种(11.5%)。依据文献显示受威胁种类有115种(占13.0%)。受威胁种类占比较高的类群均是近年来发表新种较多的科,包括鳞毛蕨科、苦苣苔科、荨麻科、秋海棠科、茜草科等。针对这些类群,有待更详细地调查来完善对它们的评估。此外,本名录中至少有36%的种类没有任何分子数据,亟待补充。 展开更多
