Working memory is an executive memory process that includes encoding,maintenance,and retrieval.These processes can be modulated by transcranial alternating current stimulation(tACS)with sinusoidal waves.However,little...Working memory is an executive memory process that includes encoding,maintenance,and retrieval.These processes can be modulated by transcranial alternating current stimulation(tACS)with sinusoidal waves.However,little is known about the impact of the rate of current change on working memory.In this study,we aimed to investigate the effects of two types of tACS with different rates of current change on working memory performance and brain activity.We applied a randomized,single-blind design and divided 81 young participants who received triangular wave tACS,sinusoidal wave tACS,or sham stimulation into three groups.Participants performed n-back tasks,and electroencephalograms were recorded before,during,and after active or sham stimulation.Compared to the baseline,working memory performance(accuracy and response time)improved after stimulation under all stimulation conditions.According to drift-diffusion model analysis,triangular wave tACS significantly increased the efficiency of non-target information processing.In addition,compared with sham conditions,triangular wave tACS reduced alpha power oscillations in the occipital lobe throughout the encoding period,while sinusoidal wave tACS increased theta power in the central frontal region only during the later encoding period.The brain network connectivity results showed that triangular wave tACS improved the clustering coefficient,local efficiency,and node degree intensity in the early encoding stage,and these parameters were positively correlated with the non-target drift rate and decision starting point.Our findings on how tACS modulates working memory indicate that triangular wave tACS significantly enhances brain network connectivity during the early encoding stage,demonstrating an improvement in the efficiency of working memory processing.In contrast,sinusoidal wave tACS increased the theta power during the later encoding stage,suggesting its potential critical role in late-stage information processing.These findings provide valuable insights into the potential mechanisms by which tACS modulates working memory.展开更多

Compared with Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD), Pseudo-Wigner-Ville distri- bution (PWD) and Smoothed-Peseudo-Wigner-Ville distribution (SPWD), WHT has proven itself to be the best method for feature extraetion of symmetrical triangular LFMCW signal. The proposed similarity measure provides reasonable results not only for the sets available in the literature but also gives very reasonable results, especially for fuzzy sets as well as for most intuitionistic fuzzy sets. To provide supportive evidence, the proposed similarity measure is tested on certain sets available in literature and is also applied to pattern recognition and medical diagnosis problems. The open-source finite element software,OpenSees,is widely used in the earthquake engineering community.However,the shell elements and explicit algorithm in OpenSees still require further improvements.Therefore,in thi...The open-source finite element software,OpenSees,is widely used in the earthquake engineering community.However,the shell elements and explicit algorithm in OpenSees still require further improvements.Therefore,in this work,a triangular shell element,NLDKGT,and an explicit algorithm are proposed and implemented in OpenSees.Specifically,based on the generalized conforming theory and the updated Lagrangian formulation,the proposed NLDKGT element is suitable for problems with complicated boundary conditions and strong nonlinearity.The accuracy and reliability of the NLDKGT element are validated through typical cases.Furthermore,by adopting the leapfrog integration method,an explicit algorithm in OpenSees and a modal damping model are developed.Finally,the stability and efficiency of the proposed shell element and explicit algorithm are validated through the nonlinear time-history analysis of a highrise building.展开更多

The fundamental system of partial differential equations of the 2D problem...This paper studies the eigenfunction expansion method to solve the two dimensional (2D) elasticity problems based on the stress formulation. The fundamental system of partial differential equations of the 2D problems is rewritten as an upper tri angular differential system based on the known results, and then the associated upper triangular operator matrix matrix is obtained. By further research, the two simpler com plete orthogonal systems of eigenfunctions in some space are obtained, which belong to the two block operators arising in the operator matrix. Then, a more simple and conve nient general solution to the 2D problem is given by the eigenfunction expansion method. Furthermore, the boundary conditions for the 2D problem, which can be solved by this method, are indicated. Finally, the validity of the obtained results is verified by a specific example.展开更多

In this design, however these simpler approximations of slot length against the frequency do not give closer results for different slot lengths and there positions inside the patch. In this paper, the modal variations of slot cut patch antennas over wide frequency range are studied. It is observed that the slot does not introduce any mode but reduces the higher order mode resonance frequency of the patch and along with the fundamental mode realizes dual band response. The formulations of the resonant length for the mode introduce by the slots in these antennas are proposed. The resonance frequencies calculated using proposed formulations agree well with the simulated results with an error of less than 5%.展开更多
