The paper reaches a conclusion that to delineate a SB in terms of the TS is theoretically and practically better than to delineate it between highstand and lowstand sediments as has been done traditionally.展开更多

Together with dating data, the transgressive sequence since 1. 7 Ma B. P. has been established, indicating that the core went through middle and late Early Pleistocene, early and late Middle Pleistocene, early and late (Substages A and B) Late Pleistocene and the Holocene transgressions. Within these 8 transgressions, late Middle Pleistocene, early Late Pleistocene and the Holocene transgressions-had rather strong activities proved by shallow sea (of 50 or 20-50 m water depth) deposits in the prime, while 2 of the 8, during middle Early Pleistocene and late Late Pleistocene (Substage A), were much weaker only with supratidal deposits. The transgressive cycles also differ from each other. Transgressions in the Holocene and in Substage B of late Late Pleistocene are made up of 3 and 2 subcycles of marine ingressions and regressions respectively, but most transgressions only have a single ingressive or regressive sequence. With the core, some important problems concerning, the study of Quaternary transgression such as correlation of transgressive beds and climatic periods and dating of the transgressive beds are discussed in this paper.展开更多

Evidence from the sedimentary record, grain sizes, and pollen provides a paleoenvironmental history of the Late Pleistocene from the boreholes of the delta. Based on a combination of grain-size analysis with lithological studies, marine deposit units contain the intervals of 13.85–16.9, 18.5–19.69, 27.9–34.8, 36.4–37.2, 48.4–51.6, and 54.1–55.9 m, and transitional facies units contain the intervals of 10.25–13.85, 16.9–18.5, 19.69–27.9, 34.8–36.4, 37.2–48.4, 51.6–54.1, and 55.9–60 m, compared with fluvial(terrestrial facies) deposit units(3.36–10.25 m). Based on pollen analysis and pollen assemblages, there were three warm-wet periods from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 16.1–60 ka BP, and 90.1–94.6 ka BP From the top to the bottom of the borehole, the paleoclimate has an evident fluctuation: warm and moist(Holocene Optimum) —cool and dry(Younger Dryas Event)—mild semi cool—cool and dry—warm and moist. There were three warm-wet periods from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 16.1–60 ka BP, and 90.1–94.6 ka BP, corresponding to the Holocene Optimum stage, MIS 3, and MIS 5, respectively. The warm period allowed monsoonal evergreen and broadleaved deciduous forests that corresponded to Holocene hypsithermal climatic conditions and the Late Pleistocene climatic Optimum. Three warm-wet periods occurred in marine deposit units from 9.1–0.16 ka BP, 60.1–16.1 ka BP, and 94.6–90.1 ka BP. These periods correspond to the Cangzhou transgression, Xianxian transgression, and Huanghua transgression, respectively. From 90.1–60.1 ka BP, 17.5–9.1 ka BP, and 0. 16 ka BP–1855 AD, three dry and cold phases are recognized. The phases indicate the fluvial(flood plain) sedimentary environment, corresponding to cooler and mild dry periods based on palynological results and grain-size distribution.展开更多

Of the 10 crosses, cross K603 x K560 was most promising as it yielded highest number of recombinants (21 in irrigated and 36 in rainfed conditions); the cultivar K506 was considered as drought resistant (drought susceptibility index 〈 1). A total of 22 out of 64 and 18 out of 59 most promising F2 recombinants in irrigated and rainfed conditions, respectively from 6 crosses were evaluated for yield, harvest index as well as proline content. All the recombinants selected under rainfed condition (including a few from irrigated condition) showed enhanced level of proline content coupled with high grain yield and harvest index. Further, a total of twenty-nine segregants (12 rainfed and 17 irrigated derived cultures) showing significantly higher values of proline content and grain yield were grown during 2007-2008 under both the environments, rainfed and irrigated to determine the geometric mean (GM) and drought susceptibility index (S). The segregants (Culture No. 8, 10 & 13) derived from cross K 603 × K 560 and culture No. 5 from K 560 × RD 2508 gave maximum mean yield under rainfed and geometric mean coupled with lower drought susceptibility index (S). Also, it has been observed that the transgressive segregants selected from limited water environment (rainfed) performed better than those selected from irrigated environment for higher grain yield and drought tolerance.展开更多

This sedimentary evolution, in particular the timing of Pleistocene transgressions, has long been a matter of controversy owing to the lack of precise chronological evidence. The aim of this study is to explore the evolution of the sedimentary environment throughout the past 3.00 Ma in this region on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of particle size and foraminifera and ostracods collected in the TZK9 core from the Subei Basin combined with geochronological studies of magnetostratigraphy, AMS^(14)C and optically stimulated luminescence(OSL). The results show that fluvial facies in the sedimentary environment from 3.00 to 1.01 Ma. There were fluvial facies and reflects six sea-level high stands from 1.01 to 0.25 Ma. The study area was affected by four large-scale transgressions since 0.25 Ma. The four marine sedimentary layers known as DU7(buried at 48–52 m), DU5(buried at 35–41 m), DU3(buried at 16–23 m), and DU1(buried at 2–4 m) are recorded in the MIS7(210–250 ka), MIS5, MIS3, and Holocene, respectively. The magnitude of the DU5 transgression was identical to that of the DU3 transgression, both were larger than the DU7 transgression, and the DU1 transgression was the weakest. The variation of transgression strength reflects the influence of global changes in sea level, tectonic subsidence, shell ridges, and sand dams. In the TZK9 core, we found evidence of seven sea-level high stands from the Early–Middle Pleistocene, and the first one caused by regional rapid subsidence and could be traced back to 0.83-0.84 Ma. The sea-level high stands and the age of the first one recorded above was different from other cores in eastern China, this was caused by the lack of absolute age control and the differences in paleotopography during this period. This study reconstructs sedimentary evolution, determines the transgression and its age, establishes the chronology since the Late Pliocene, and provides a scientific framework for further paleoenvironmental and tectonic studies. The results of this study highlight the important role that local tectonics and global sea level play in the sedimentary evolution and transgressions that have occurred in the western Subei Basin.展开更多

The recognition of Milankovitch cycles allows estimation of an average accumulation rate of ~7.55- 8.62 cm/ka for the K2qn^1 sections, and ~6.69-10.16 cm/ka for the K2n^1-2 sections. Two marine transgression events occurred during the deposition of K2qn^1 and K2n^1-2 and their ages are at ~0.74- 1.10 Ma and ~2.38-4.84 Ma, respectively. Identification of Milankoviteh cycles from fine-grained deep lake sedimentary rocks in the Songliao Basin may provide great potential for high-resolution stratigraphic subdivisions and correlations.展开更多

This article summarizes the distribution, formation, and development characteristics of Cretaceous source rocks and associated oil and gas resources in the world and China, aiming at improving the understanding of this hydrocarbon enrichment and at broadening domestic exploration. Outside China, these rocks are generally formed in marine or transgressive environments during both the Upper and Lower Cretaceous. The majority of Cretaceous source rocks are located in the Persian Gulf, Mediterranean, and Gulf Coast of the USA. Kerogen types within these source rocks have distinct spatial distribution characteristics, with high-latitude Boreal Realm, Tethyan Realm and South Gondwana Realm source rocks containing type III, II, II-III kerogens, respectively. Cretaceous source rocks in China can be mainly divided into four zones: Eastern, Central, Northwest, and Qinghai-Tibet Plateau zones. The majority of Chinese source rocks formed in the Early Cretaceous, whereas the most productive source rocks are developed in the Upper Cretaceous, such as those within the Songliao Basin. Most of these basins are formed in lacustrine environments, although some may have been influenced by transgressive events: Cretaceous source rocks are formed in four distinctive ways: 1) during Oceanic Anoxic Events and associated global sea-level rises, 2) in Black Sea-type retention basins, 3) during transgression and 4) during periods of significant terrestrial input. Formation of these source rocks is controlled by four factors: paleoclimate, paleotopography, transgression, and Oceanic Anoxic Events. These four major controlling factors indicate that China's hydrocarbon exploration within the Cretaceous should focus on two key areas with extremely low exploration levels, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the southeastern coast of China.展开更多

This paper studies grain size distribution, lithological characteristics, major and rare earth elemental compositions, micropaleontological features and ^(14)C ages in order to examine sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance of the core BH6 drilled at the mouth of the Yellow River in Bohai Sea. According to the grain size and the micropaleontological compositions, 4 sedimentary units have been identified. Unit 1(0–8.08 mbsf) is of the delta sedimentary facies, Unit 2(8.08–12.08 mbsf) is of the neritic shelf facies, Unit 3(12.08–23.85 mbsf) is of near-estuary beach-tidal facies, and Unit 4(23.85 mbsf–) is of the continental lake facies. The deposits from Unit 1 to Unit 3 have been found to be marine strata formed after the Holocene transgression at about 10 ka BP, while Unit 4 is continental lacustrine deposit formed before 10 ka BP. The provenances of core BH6 sediments show properties of the continental crust and vary in different sedimentary periods. For Unit 4 sediments, the source regions are dispersed while the main provenance is not clear, although the parent rock characteristics of a few samples are similar to the Luanhe River sediments. For Unit 3, sediments at 21.1–23.85 mbsf have been mainly transported from the Liaohe River, while sediments above 21.1 mbsf are mainly from the Yellow River and partially from the Liaohe River. For Unit 2, the sediments have been mainly transported from the Yellow River, with a small amount from other rivers. For Unit 1, the provenance is mainly the Yellow River catchment. These results help in better understanding the evolution of the Yellow River Delta.展开更多

In order to test the previous hypotheses, we analyzed sedimentological characteristics of the Kuishan sandstones in outcrops and boreholes, and carried out trace element geochemical analysis by electron probe microanalyzer. Three lithofacies were recognized, including normal-graded conglomerate (Cng), trough and planar cross-bedded coarse sandstone (CStpc), and planar cross-bedded medium sandstone (MSpc). Normal-graded conglomerate (Cng) formed in the meandering river or deltaic distributary channels. Trough and planar cross-bedded coarse sandstone (CStpc) formed in meandering river or distributary channels of near-source deltaic plain. Planar cross-bedded medium sandstone (MSpc) formed in the siliciclastic beach with highto moderate-energy conditions. By the petrology and trace elements analysis, three relatively large-scale transgressions were revealed. Each transgression was reflected by the lower content of Ba and ratios of Fe/Mn, and the high content of B and ratios of B/Ga. The ratios of Ni/Co of all samples are all lower than 2, suggesting oxygen-enriched shallower water en- vironment during deposition of the Kuishan sandstones.展开更多

Each of the populations consisted of 25 DH lines. The field experiments were conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications during three growing seasons. Field observations were recorded on seed yield and its structure: the number of branches and pods per plant, the number of seeds per pod, the 1 000-seed weight, the content of fat in the seeds, and three unsaturated fatty acids (oleic, linoleic, linolenic) in the seed oil. In order to investigate the influence of cross direction on the studied traits, parental effects were evaluated on the basis of differences between reciprocal DH populations. The maternal effect was revealed on the number of seeds per pod and the effect of the paternal form on linolenic acid content. The occurrence of transgression effects also depended on the direction of crossing and this was particularly noticeable in terms of the number of seeds per pod. The use of multivariate statistical methods allowed for the simultaneous characterization and grouping of tested lines in terms of several traits. Graphic images of the distribution of DH lines in the space of the two first canonical variates showed a great variation between the two reciprocal populations, both in terms of yield and its components, as well as fat and those unsaturated fatty acids.展开更多

文摘The relationship between marine transgression and the distribution of lacustrine organic matter has restricted shale oil and gas exploration for decades. In this study, the research objective is to analyze the sedimentary environment and evaluate its influence on organic matter in transgressive lacustrine shale. The study uses various analyses including total organic carbon(TOC),Rock-Eval pyrolysis, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC-MS),trace element and isotope analysis. Finally, the study proposes an enrichment model for organic matter. The lacustrine shale of the second member of the Funing Formation(E_(1)f^(2))is divided into three sequences. The results indicate that the depositional environment of the organic matter during this period was an arid and humid, reduced, closed, rift lake basin. In the first sequence, high salinity resulted from increased evaporation, leading to low primary biological productivity. At this time, the lake basin belonged to a salinized closed lake basin.Intermittent transgressions began in the second sequence, with the deep lake area still being dominated by a reducing environment. The third sequence saw the environment evolve into a closed lake basin characterized by a warm and humid freshwater environment with high primary productivity.Marine transgressions introduce a substantial amount of marine plankton, nutrient elements,as well as more CO_(2) and CO_(3)^(2−)into the lake, leading to increased primary productivity. The sedimentary model for transgressive lacustrine source rocks proposed here serves as an example for similar transgressive lake basins.
文摘Analysis of the four cases of the sequence boundary (SB)-transgressive surface (TS) relation in nature shows that applying transgressive surfaces as sequence boundaries has the following merits: it improves the methodology of stratigraphic subdivision; the position of transgressive surface in a sea level curve is relatively fixed; the transgressive surface is a transforming surface of the stratal structure; in platforms or ramps, the transgressive surface is the only choice for determining the sequence boundary; the transgressive surface is a readily recognized physical surface reflected by seismic records in seismostratigraphy. The paper reaches a conclusion that to delineate a SB in terms of the TS is theoretically and practically better than to delineate it between highstand and lowstand sediments as has been done traditionally.

文摘The closely related Black-headed Bunting(Emberiza melanocephala,a western Palearctic lineage)and Red-headed Bunting(Emberiza bruniceps,an eastern Palearctic lineage)hybridize and replace each other south of the Caspian Sea.The parental species have distinct phenotypes and therefore morphology is useful for assessing hybridization in the contact zone.In the years of 1940 and 1977,quite a few hybrids were collected and studied morphologically.Since then, the hybrid zone appears to have expanded westwards, but there has been a time gap in the collection of morphological data. Here we reanalyze bunting specimens morphologically and compare the historical data with recent data.Morphometric and phenotypic traits from three time periods(1940,1977 and recent)were studied to assess phenotypic variation of hybrids, pattern of hybridization, and transgressive traits in the hybrid zone. Our results show that most of the birds in the hybrid zone exhibit intermediate phenotypes(both colors and morphometric characters),ranging from the pure phenotype of either of the parental species. However, hybridization has also produced novel phenotypes not seen in any of the parents.Using a canonical discriminant function analysis, the morphometric characters separated each parental species and the hybrids quite well. Our results showed morphometric intermediacy of hybrids in accordance with phenotypes. We observe a time trend in which recent hybrids are more similar to Red-headed Buntings phenotypically compared to historical samples. This pattern is likely a signature of a westward expansion of the Red-headed Bunting into the breeding range of the Black-headed Bunting.
文摘According to palaeoenvironmental analysis on the fossil fauna dominated by Foraminifera and Ostracoda, core QC2 contains 8 marine transgressive beds, called (from up to bottom) Transgressive Beds Ⅰ,Ⅱ, Ⅲ, …,Ⅷ respectively. With the core, some important problems concerning, the study of Quaternary transgression such as correlation of transgressive beds and climatic periods and dating of the transgressive beds are discussed in this paper.
文摘The sea level changes in the Paleozoic epicontinental basin were of high frequency and the transgressive events were episodic. This kind of sea level changes controlled both the basin filling and the coal accumulation within the basin.Coal accumulation in the transgressive process is one of the typical features of the North China epicontinental basin.High resolution sequence analysis to the Permo carboniferous coal series based on the core observation indicates that the epicontintental coal bearing succession can be divided into 1 tectonic sequence (the original type of basin filling), 3 supersequences, 12 third order sequences and about 48 parasequences. The third order sequences are of dual configuration sequences that are composed of transgressive systems tract in the lower part and highstand systems tract in the upper part. The transgressive systems tracts are relatively thin in thickness and have fewer parasequences (commonly 1 to 2), while the highstand systems tracts are thick, generally consist of several parasequences.

文摘This study deals with the relationship between sea-level changes and paleoclimatic fluctuations based on the analysis of stratigraphy, grain sizes, palynology, and radiometric dating of the Yellow River delta since the Late Pleistocene. The phases indicate the fluvial(flood plain) sedimentary environment, corresponding to cooler and mild dry periods based on palynological results and grain-size distribution.

文摘One of the global characteristic features of the Eocene is the extensive development of carbonate platforms in various regions of Tethys.Paleogene sequences of the Shillong Plateau from west to east are exposed in the steep Garo,Khasi and Jaintia hills. In the Khasi and Jaintia hills,Paleogene successions are represented by alternating carbonates and siliciclastics and provide datable micropaleontological fossils, whereas in the Garo Hills, which is in the south-western part of the Shillong Plateau, the Paleogene succession is mainly represented by siliciclastics and fewer carbonates. As the carbonates in this area are mostly marly, the recovery of carbonate microfossils is difficult.Accurate age assignment is important to correlate the sedimentary successions of the Khasi,Jaintia and Garo hills, which are mostly time transgressive and different lithologies were deposited at the same time.A detailed palynological investigation of 65 samples from the 25-m-thick sedimentary succession of the Siju Formation,Western Garo Hills, has yielded well-preserved and diverse organic-walled dinoflagellate cysts and calcareous nannofossils.Dinoflagellate cysts(Heteraulacacysta porosa,H.leptalea)and nannofossils(Discoaster barbadiensis,D.saipanensis,Reticulofenestra bisecta,R.erbae, and R.reticulata)indicate a middle Eocene age(Bartonian)for the studied section. The synthesis of nannofossils and dinocysts with records from India and Australia reveals a major late Bartonian transgression in the Indo-Pacific known as the‘Kirthar transgression'.

文摘The Late Cretaceous global transgression is one of the best documented episodes of continental submergence events. The extent of transgression of the Neotethys Ocean into the African continent is generally thought to be limited to north Africa. Here,we describe transgression traces in the Muglad Basin in central Africa that indicate a greater spatial extend of the Neotethys during the late Cretaceous.A series of molecular markers detected in the Upper Cretaceous Santonian-Maastrichtian sediments of the Muglad Basin are typical for marine depositional conditions and differ from those in the typical lacustrine sediments of the Lower Cretaceous Barremian-Aptian.Combining the geological-geochemical implications of these markers with the paleogeographic, paleontological and lithological records,we propose that the Muglad Basin received intermittent marine inundations during the Santonian-Maastrichtian stages(86.3-66.0 Ma)and these special molecular markers are therefore the products of seawater incursion.Consequently, this study proposes that the transgression extent of the Neotethys Ocean into the African continent southern extended to the central Africa during the Late Cretaceous.
文摘The paper attempts to explore selected African American women writers'(Zora Neale Hurston,Maya Angelou,Audre Lorde, and Alice Walker)self-discovery,celebration of their selfhood, and sense of wholeness in their auto/biogrAfrical discourses.Instrumental rhetoricity of the autobiographers reflects politicization of black women's struggle, cultural(de)construction, and feminist/womanist(re)construction Instead of fitting into heteronormative discourses and aprocess of cultural assimilation, and of adhering to cultural codes of femininity, these writers transgress traditional norms of behavior Through autobiographical manifestos interwoven with self-defining identity and artistic transgression they powerfully assert notions of collective female agency and embrace their new-found identity as feminist womanistqueer. As an agent of awareness and proclamation, their(except Hurston's)powerful rhetoric is infused with their triple consciousness of being a black woman with African background and cultural pride. They illustrate an interconnectedness of racism and sexism which causes double oppression on black women. They boldly raise racial issues of universal significance, stick to their authentic selves, and reaffirm their agonizing black history/past as they journey toward maturity and wholeness.Their discourses reflect an interweaving of past and present, individual and community, and personal and political changes which lead them toward an esthetic paradigmof wholeness.

文摘Multiple borehole samples are collected from the Baiyun Depression in deep-water area of the northern South China Sea(SCS)in an effort to reconstruct transgression processes during the Paleogene based on palynalgal analysis. This study indicates that the Baiyun Depression generated a large group of palynopore assemblages and fluvial/lacustrine-related algae during the early and middle Eocene when the Wenchang Formation was deposited. The entire depression was dominated by fluvial and lacustrine facies before transgression. Its eastern and southeastern sags transitioned to shallow marine environment by generating a large abundance of marine dinoflagellates during the Enping deposition of the late Eocene.Meanwhile, the southern uplift zone simply yielded fluvial/lacustrine-related palynopores and algae, and was dominated by the fluvial and lacustrine environment during the early stage of the Enping Formation, prior to shifting into transitional setting in the later period.Northwestern sags remained extensive fluvial and delta facies without existence of marine dinoflagellates. It was until the depositional stage of the Zhuhai Formation(Oligocene)that the overall depression was strongly impacted from transgression process. Both eastern and southeastern sags were mainly under deep marine setting on a continental slope while northwestern and southern areas developed transitional facies.Although distribution and accumulation patterns varied greatly among sub-sags,the overall Baiyun Depression was characterized by widespread development of marine dinoflagellates. It should be noted that the northwestern sag also partly generated large-scale river delta deposits.Due to the eustatic rise and change of SCS spreading axis, the overall Baiyun Depression was mostly influenced by the deep marine environment on a continental slope during the early Miocene. Both northwestern sag and southern uplift zone were found plentiful marine dinoflagellates. In summary, transgression initiated from the eastern and southeastern Baiyun Depression before subsequently progressing into the farther west.Evolution of transgression process is also greatly consistent with the gradual westward expansion of the SCS.

文摘Isotopic ages of synsedimentary clay minerals were directly determined with the ultrasonicscattering-settlement separation-K-Ar dilution technique. The apparent age of black mudstoneis 123 Ma for the Quantou Formation, 111.9-89.0 Ma for the Qingshankou Formation and77.6-76.8 Ma for the upper part of the Nenjiang Formation. The Rb-Sr isochrone age of themuddy limestone-mudstone sequence of the lower part of the Nenjiang Formation is 81 Ma andthat of the muddy evaporite of the middle part of the Quantou Formation is 122.2 Ma. On thebasis of the above isotopic ages, the authors propose a modified scheme of stratigraphic classifi-cation of the Cretaceous of the Songliao basin.
文摘In an attempt to enhance productivity as well as drought tolerance of barley cultivar, a 5 × 5 diallel cross involving rainfed cultivars was made. Also, it has been observed that the transgressive segregants selected from limited water environment (rainfed) performed better than those selected from irrigated environment for higher grain yield and drought tolerance.

文摘Sedimentary sequences in the Subei Basin are complex and have been affected by interactions between the ocean and rivers since the Late Pliocene, including the Yellow River, Huaihe River, and the Yangtze River. The results of this study highlight the important role that local tectonics and global sea level play in the sedimentary evolution and transgressions that have occurred in the western Subei Basin.

文摘Assemblages of benthic foraminifera in a sediment core(C02)near the western margin of the southern Yellow Sea Mud were studied to decipher the phase evolution of Holocene paleoenvironmental changes associated with the Holocene marine transgression. It appears that during the early Holocene(11.2 10.1 kyr BP),the faunal was dominated by low salinity and shallow water species Cribrononion subincertum,Buccella frigida and Ammonia beccarii, reflecting a near coast depositional environment.A rapid increase of the relative abundance of Ammonia compressiuscula between 10.1 9.3 kyr BP indicates that the sea level rose rapidly during that time period. From 9.3 7.7 kyr BP,the benthic foraminiferal assemblage was dominated by high percentage of A.compressiscula, suggesting that the sea level was relatively stable. An obvious transition of benthic foraminifera, from the A.compressiuscula-dominated assemblage to an Ammonia ketienziensis-dominated assemblage, occurred between 7.7 6.2 kyr BP,possibly corresponding to a second sea level rapid rise period in the Yellow Sea during the Holocene. This transition may correspond to the gradually strengthened Yellow Sea warm current(YSWC)and finally is established the modern-type circulation in the Yellow Sea.It may also mark the formation of the Yellow Sea cold bottom water(YSCBW)during that period.Since then, the benthic foraminiferal assemblage based on core C02 was dominated by typical YSCBW species,A.ketienziensis,Astrononion italicum and Hanzawaia nipponica,at 6.2 4 kyr BP.A non-deposition period occurred since 4 kyr BP,which possibly related to the hydrology changes caused by the East Asia monsoon. The two obvious benthic foraminiferal transitions recorded in core C02 during the early and middle Holocene provide evidence that the Yellow Sea has undergone a two-phase rapid sea level rise during the Holocene marine transgression.
文摘Spectrogram analysis of seven natural gamma-ray logging of Member 1 of the Qingshankou Formation (K2qn^1) and Member 1 and 2 of the Nenjiang Formation (K2n^1-2) of Late Cretaceous age in the Songliao Basin reveals sedimentary cyclicities controlled by Milankovitch climate periodicities. Identification of Milankoviteh cycles from fine-grained deep lake sedimentary rocks in the Songliao Basin may provide great potential for high-resolution stratigraphic subdivisions and correlations.

文摘The Cretaceous is one of the most important stratigraphic intervals for hydrocarbon source rocks. These four major controlling factors indicate that China's hydrocarbon exploration within the Cretaceous should focus on two key areas with extremely low exploration levels, the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and the southeastern coast of China.

文摘Sedimentary sequence and sediment provenance are important factors when it comes to the studies on marine sedimentation. These results help in better understanding the evolution of the Yellow River Delta.

文摘The depositional environment of the Upper Permian quartzose sandstone (Kuishan sandstone in Shihezi Formation of Upper Permian) in the North China epicontinental basin is controversial. The ratios of Ni/Co of all samples are all lower than 2, suggesting oxygen-enriched shallower water en- vironment during deposition of the Kuishan sandstones.
文摘Here we present a study on the genetic effects of agronomic and seed quality traits in double haploid (DH) populations, which were developed by microspore culture from reciprocal F1 hybrids produced between cultivar Californium and DH W-15. Graphic images of the distribution of DH lines in the space of the two first canonical variates showed a great variation between the two reciprocal populations, both in terms of yield and its components, as well as fat and those unsaturated fatty acids.
