Green transformation paths of resource-based cities in China from the configuration perspective

Green transformation is an unavoidable choice for resource-based cities(RBCs)that face resource depletion and environmental pollution.Existing research has focused primarily on specific RBCs,making it challenging to apply green transformation strategies universally across cities.The fuzzy set qualitative comparative analysis(fsQCA)is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses that can handle multiple concurrent causality problems and determine how different conditions combine into configurations and generate an outcome.Thus,to address this gap,in this study,we established a research framework for green transformation and utilized the fsQCA to examine the configurations of 113 RBCs in China.By incorporating the element of time,this study explored the dynamic evolution of solutions in 2013,2016,and 2019.The main findings indicate that individual elements do not constitute the necessary conditions for improving the green transformation efficiency(GTE),and the systematic combination of multiple conditions is an effective path for realizing the improvement of the GTE in RBCs.Green transformation paths of RBCs exhibit the same destination through different paths.Additionally,the combination of system environment elements and system structure elements is both complementary and alternative.Differences in RBCs have led to various factor combinations and development paths,but there are some similarities in the key elements of the factor combinations at different stages.Economic environment,government support,and technological innovation are key factors that universally enhance the GTE in RBCs.These insights can assist city managers in formulating policies to drive green transformation and contribute to a better theoretical understanding of green transformation paths in RBCs. 展开更多

Climate change is a common problem in human society.The Chinese government promises to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and strives to achieve carbon neutralization by 2060.The proposal of the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutralization has led China into the era of climate economy and set off a green change with both opportunities and challenges.On the basis of expounding the objectives and specific connotation of China’s carbon peak and carbon neutralization,this paper systematically discusses the main implementation path and the prospect of China’s carbon peak and carbon neutralization.China’s path to realizing carbon neutralization includes four directions:(1)in terms of carbon dioxide emission control:energy transformation path,energy conservation,and emission reduction path;(2)for increasing carbon sink:carbon capture,utilization,and storage path,ecological governance,and land greening path;(3)in key technology development:zero-carbon utilization,coal new energy coupling,carbon capture utilization and storage(CCUS),energy storage technology and other key technology paths required to achieve carbon peak and carbon neutralization;(4)from the angle of policy development:Formulate legal guarantees for the government to promote the carbon trading market;Formulate carbon emission standards for enterprises and increase publicity and education for individuals and society.Based on practicing the goal and path of carbon peak and carbon neutralization,China will vigorously develop low carbon and circular economy and promote green and high-quality economic development;speed up to enter the era of fossil resources and promoting energy transformation;accelerate the integrated innovation of green and low-carbon technologies and promote carbon neutrality. 展开更多

Dynamic thermo-mechanical coupling behaviors of shape memory TiNi alloy in the strain rate ranging from 300 s^−1 to 2000 s^−1 are investigated by the split Hopkinson pressure bar(SHPB)device with an infrared(IR)detection system.In stress–strain space,dynamic response shows a strong strain hardening property,however,in stress–temperature space,transformation path is particularly sensitive to the strain rate.The corresponding temperature evolution measured synchronously shows that local temperature increased associated with the forward phase transition,and it would keep the loading maximum value unchanged or decreased for unloading,depending on the strain rate.Besides,local temperature evolution was consistent with the transformation stress and its values at different points are the same.Temperature evolution and transformation deformation mechanism is then analyzed by a simple one-dimensional model.The results show that latent heat and dissipated energy are responsible for temperature variation.Furthermore,the temperature evolution with strain rate reveals that with the increase of strain rate,the phase transformation deformation mechanism undergoes a transformation from phase transition fronts propagation during lower strain rates to combination of local nucleation and front propagation during middle strain rate and to uniform nucleations during higher strain rates.The results are helpful for a passive shape memory alloy(SMA)micro-valve design. 展开更多
