This article uses the Bazimen (八字门) landslide, which is located at the outlet of Xiangxi (香溪) River in the Three Gorges Reservoir, as an example to evaluate its stability and reliability under different water levels with two-dimensional deterministic and probabilistic methods. With the assumption that constant mean and normal distributed shear strength parameters (c, Φ), correlation coefficient c, Φ=-1 based reliability analysis, compared with c, Φ=0 and 1, indicates obviously more increase of reliability index and lower standard deviation as water levels rise. To the case of a certain water level, c, Φ=-1 does not have constantly positive or negative effects on landslide reliability compared with c, Φ=0 or 1, but is associated with water level. Whereas the safety factor Fs by deterministic method, which is almost the same value as corresponding mean of safety factor from probabilistic analysis, will increase slightly as water level increases.展开更多

There- fore, four-high rolling mill vibrations take place in six degree of freedom (DOF) leading to spatial behaviors invol- ving vertical, horizontal, axial, torsional, cross and swinging vibration modes resulting in complex relative motions between the rolls. Two numerical methods, modified Riccati-transfer matrix method (Riccati-TMM) and finite ele- ment method (FEM), are presented to analyze a spatial vibration characteristic of two four-high rolling mills with different stability. The natural frequency and mode shape of four-high rolling mills are obtained, and the clearance has a great effect on natural frequency and mode shape. In addition, field testing experiment is also conducted to measure natural frequency by power spectrum analysis of rolling mill vibration. Accurately measuring the self-noise of the VH provides an important basis for evaluating the performance of the detection system in which it is utilized, since the ability to acquire weak signals is determined by the VH self-noise level. To accurately measure the VH self-noise level in actual working conditions, the Dual-channel Transfer Function Method(DTFM) is proposed to reduce ambient background noise interference. In this paper, the underlying principles of DTFM in reducing ambient background noise is analyzed. The numerical simulations to determine the influence of ambient background noise, and the sensitivity difference of the two VHs on the measurement results are studied. The results of measuring the VH self-noise level in a small laboratory water tank by using DTMF indicate that ambient background noise interference can be reduced effectively by employing DTMF, more accurate self-noise level can be obtained as well. The DTMF provides an effective method for accurately measuring the self-noise level of VHs and also provides technical support for the practical application of the VH in underwater acoustics.展开更多

This paper presents a new scenario called virtual cutting in the context of the transfer matrix method of linear multibody systems closed- loop topology for computing the free vibration characteristics of elastically coupled flexible launch vehicle boosters. In this approach, the coupled system is idealized as a triple-beam system-like structure coupled by linear translational springs, where a non-uniform free-free Euler-Bemoulli beam is used. A large thrust-to-weight ratio leads to large axial accelera- tions that result in an axial inertia load distribution from nose to tail. Consequently, it causes the development of significant compressive forces along the length of the launch vehicle. Therefore, it is important to take into account this effect in the transverse vibration model. This scenario does not need the global dynamics equations of a system, and it has high computational efficiency and low memory requirements. The validity of the presented scenario is achieved through com- parison to other approaches published in the literature.展开更多

Here a Vapor Transfer Method (VTM) is used to fabricate high quality perovskite thin films in a balanced vacuum capsule. By adjusting the reaction tem- perature, CH_3NHl_3 saturated vapor which then reacts with Pbl_2 films can be controlled and the formation process of CH_3NH_3Pbl_3 perovskite films can be further influenced. Prepared perovskite films which ex- hibit pure phase, smooth surface and high crystallinity are assembled into planar heterojunction inverted solar cells. The whole fabrication process of solar cell devices is organic solution free. Finally, the cham- pion cell achieved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 13.08% with negligible current-voltage hysteresis under fully open-air conditions. A rectangular DLGS with a nanoparticle randomly located in the upper sheet is modeled as two nonlocal Kirchhoff plates connected by van der Waals forces. The Galerkin strip transfer function method which is a semi-analytical method is developed to compute the natural frequencies of the mass- plate vibrating system. It can give exact closed-form solutions along the longitudinal direction of the strip. The results obtained from the semi-analytical method are compared with the previous ones, and the differences between the single-layered graphene sheet (SLGS) and the DLGS mass sensors are also investigated. The results demonstrate the similarity of the in-phase mode between the SLGS and DLGS mass sensors. The sensitivity of the DLGS mass sensor can be increased by decreasing the nonlocal parameter, moving the attached nanoparticle closer to the DLGS center and making the DLGS smaller. These conclusions are helpful for the design and application of graphene-sheet-based resonators as nano-mass sensors.展开更多

The streamline upwind finite element method is used for the analysis of thermal viscous flow in the fluid region, whereas the analysis of heat conduction in solid region is performed by the Galerkin method. The method uses the three-node triangular element with equal-order interpolation functions for all the variables of the velocity components, the pressure and the temperature. The main advantage of the proposed method is to consistently couple heat transfer along the fluid-solid interface. Three test cases, i.e. conjugate Couette flow problem in parallel plate channel, counter-flow in heat exchanger, and conjugate natural convection in a square cavity with a conducting wall, are selected to evaluate the efficiency of the present method.展开更多

The results of measuring the VH self-noise level in a small laboratory water tank by using DTMF indicate that ambient background noise interference can be reduced effectively by employing DTMF, more accurate self-noise level can be obtained as well. The DTMF provides an effective method for accurately measuring the self-noise level of VHs and also provides technical support for the practical application of the VH in underwater acoustics.

文摘The analysis of natural vibration characteristics has become one of important steps of the manufacture and dynamic design in the aerospace industry. The validity of the presented scenario is achieved through com- parison to other approaches published in the literature.

文摘Based on the extended homogeneous capacity high precision integration method and the spectrum method of virtual boundary with a complex radius vector, a novel semi-analytical method, which has satisfactory computation efectiveness and precision, is presented for solving the acoustic radiation from a submerged infnite non-circular cylindrical shell stifened by longitudinal ribs by means of the Fourier integral transformation and stationary phase method. In this work, besides the normal interacting force, which is commonly adopted by some researchers, the other interacting forces and moments between the longitudinal ribs and the non-circular cylindrical shell are considered at the same time. The efects of the number and the size of the cross-section of longitudinal ribs on the characteristics of acoustic radiation are investigated. Numerical results show that the method proposed is more efcient than the existing mixed FE-BE method.

文摘The hybrid dynamics of multi-rigid-body and multi-flexible-body system becomes the mainstream of multi-body dynamics.Currently there lacks a compact approach to model the hybrid dynamics, especially in modern machine tool application, due to the difficulty of solving the hybrid equations or the limitation of current software when dealing with the hybrid dynamics. The extended transfer matrix method(E-TMM),which extends elements in three-dimensional space with higher matrixes,is proposed to simplify the modeling process of the hybrid dynamics. The E-TMM modeling approaches of 3 basic elements including 3D vibrant rigid body, joint and flexible body are studied in details.A parallel mill-turn tool spindle head unit driven by dual-linear motors is chosen as a plant to demonstrate the E-TMM modeling process.By using E-TMM,the spindle head unit is simplified as a topological network consisting of the three types of element,i.e.,3D vibrant rigid body, joint and flexible body, including 11 rigid bodies,14 joints and 13D-Timoshenko beam. Then the dynamic model of the system can be easily obtained by deducing the element-network by means of state vector transformation. The dynamic characteristics of the spindle head, such as natural frequencies, dynamic flexibility, etc.can be predicted by solving the obtained model.Experiment verification indicates that the E-TMM is valid with enough accuracy in the dynamic analysis of the parallel mill-turn tool spindle head. The E-TMM is capable of modeling the dynamics of machine tool structure with no requirements of deducing and solving the sophisticated differential equations. Moreover, the E-TMM provides a simple and elegant tool for hybrid dynamic analysis in future dynamic design of machine tools.
文摘Rotor system supported by nonlinear bearing such as squeeze film damper(SFD)is widely used in practice owing to its wide range of damping capacity and simplicity in structure. In this paper,an improved and effective Incremental transfer matrix method(ITMM)is first presented by combining ITMM and fast Fourier transform(FFT).Afterwards this method is applied to calculate the dynamic characteristics of a Jeffcott rotor system with SFD.The convergence dificulties incurred caused by strong nonlinearities of SFD has been dealt by adopting a control factor. It is found that for the more general boundary problems where the boundary conditions are not at input and output ends of a chain system, the supplementary equation is necessarily added.Additionally, the Floquet theory is used to analyze the stability and bifurcation type of the obtained periodic solution. The semi-analytical results, including the periodic solutions of the system, the bifurcation points and their types, are in good agreement with the numerical method.Furthermore, the involution mechanism of the quasi-periodic and chaotic motions near the first-order translational mode and the second order bending mode of this system is also clarified by this method with the aid of Floquet theory.
文摘Organometal halide perovskite based solar cells have emerged as one of the most promising candidates for low-cost and high-efficiency solar cell technologies. The photovoltaic performance could be further enhanced by optimizing perovskite composition and the device structure.

文摘The curve of landslide thrust plays a key role in landslide design. The commonly used transfer coefficient method(TCM)and Morgenstern-Price method(MPM)are analyzed.TCM does not take into account the moment balance between slices.Although MPM considers the moment balance, the calculation is complex, and it does not consider that the force between slices may be less than zero at the back edge of the landslide. The rationality and feasibility of the improved MPM are verified by calculating the landslide stability coefficient and landslide thrust at different reservoir water levels. This paper studies the law of landslide thrust when the reservoir water level changes, and discusses the determination of design thrust,to provide a certain theoretical basis for the design of reservoir landslides.
文摘In consideration of the problem that the effect of conduit structure on water hammer has been ignored in the classical theory, the Poisson coupling between the fluid and the pipeline was studied and a fourteen-equation mathematical model of fluid-structure interaction(FSI)was developed. Then, the transfer matrix method(TMM)was used to calculate the modal frequency, modal shape and frequency response. The results were compared with that in experiment to verify the correctness of the TMM and the results show that the fluid-structure coupling has a greater impact on the modal frequencies than the modal shape. Finally, the influence on the response spectrum of different damping ratios was studied and the results show that the natural frequency under different damping ratios has changed little but there is a big difference for the pressure spectrum. With the decreasing of damping ratio, the damping of the system on frequency spectrum is more and more significant and the dispersion and dissipation is more and more apparent. Therefore the appropriate damping ratio should be selected to minimize the effects of the vibration of the FSI.The results provide references for the theory research of FSI in the transient process.

文摘A ship's tail shaft has serious flexural vibration due to the cantilevered nature of the propeller's blades.Analysis of the nature frequency of flexural vibration is vital to be able to provide effective shock absorption for a ship's tail shaft.A mathematic model of tail shaft flexural vibrations was built using the transfer matrix method. The nature frequency of flexural vibration for an electrically propelled ship's tail shaft was then analyzed, and an effective method for calculating it was proposed:a genetic algorithm(GA),which calculates the nature frequency of vibration of a system.Sample calculations, with comparisons by the Prohl method under conditions bearing isotropic support, showed this method to be practical. It should have significant impact on engineering design theory.

文摘Double-layered graphene sheets (DLGSs) can be applied to the development of a new generation of nanomechanical sensors due to their unique physical properties. These conclusions are helpful for the design and application of graphene-sheet-based resonators as nano-mass sensors.
文摘This paper presents a combined finite element method for solving conjugate heat transfer problems where heat conduction in a solid is coupled with heat convection in viscous fluid flow. Three test cases, i.e. conjugate Couette flow problem in parallel plate channel, counter-flow in heat exchanger, and conjugate natural convection in a square cavity with a conducting wall, are selected to evaluate the efficiency of the present method.
