Simple discourses containing three sentences were constructed and the boundary between the first sentence and the second sentence of each discourse varied along the following parameters: (1) topic internal, clause; (2) topic shift, clause; (3) topic internal, sentence; and (4) topic shift, sentence. Seven native speakers of Standard Chinese read the short discourses aloud. The offset f0, f0 Max, and f0 Min of the first sentence and the onset f0, f0 Max, and f0 Min of the second sentence were measured. It was found that relative to topic internal condition, topic shift condition induced higher onset f0 following the boundary. Moreover, this higher onset f0 was caused by the raising of both f0 max and f0 min, suggesting pitch register raising rather than pitch range expansion following the boundary. Syntactic structure as index by clause or sentence was found to have no effect on boundary pitch parameters. This study explored user satisfaction with mobile payments by applying a novel structural topic model.Specifically,we collected 17,927 online reviews of a specific mobile payment(i.e.,PayPal).Then,we employed a struct...This study explored user satisfaction with mobile payments by applying a novel structural topic model.Specifically,we collected 17,927 online reviews of a specific mobile payment(i.e.,PayPal).Then,we employed a structural topic model to investigate the relationship between the attributes extracted from online reviews and user satisfaction with mobile payment.Consequently,we discovered that“lack of reliability”and“poor customer service”tend to appear in negative reviews.Whereas,the terms“convenience,”“user-friendly interface,”“simple process,”and“secure system”tend to appear in positive reviews.On the basis of information system success theory,we categorized the topics“convenience,”“user-friendly interface,”and“simple process,”as system quality.In addition,“poor customer service”was categorized as service quality.Furthermore,based on the previous studies of trust and security,“lack of reliability”and“secure system”were categorized as trust and security,respectively.These outcomes indicate that users are satisfied when they perceive that system quality and security of specific mobile payments are great.On the contrary,users are dissatisfied when they feel that service quality and reliability of specific mobile payments is lacking.Overall,our research implies that a novel structural topic model is an effective method to explore mobile payment user experience.展开更多
Forest habitats are critical for biodiversity,ecosystem services,human livelihoods,and well-being.Capacity to conduct theoretical and applied forest ecology research addressing direct(e.g.,deforestation)and indirect(e...Forest habitats are critical for biodiversity,ecosystem services,human livelihoods,and well-being.Capacity to conduct theoretical and applied forest ecology research addressing direct(e.g.,deforestation)and indirect(e.g.,climate change)anthropogenic pressures has benefited considerably from new field-and statistical-techniques.We used machine learning and bibliometric structural topic modelling to identify 20 latent topics comprising four principal fields from a corpus of 16,952 forest ecology/forestry articles published in eight ecology and five forestry journals between 2010 and 2022.Articles published per year increased from 820 in 2010 to 2,354 in 2021,shifting toward more applied topics.Publications from China and some countries in North America and Europe dominated,with relatively fewer articles from some countries in West and Central Africa and West Asia,despite globally important forest resources.Most study sites were in some countries in North America,Central Asia,and South America,and Australia.Articles utilizing R statistical software predominated,increasing from 29.5%in 2010 to 71.4%in 2022.The most frequently used packages included lme4,vegan,nlme,MuMIn,ggplot2,car,MASS,mgcv,multcomp and raster.R was more often used in forest ecology than applied forestry articles.R software offers advantages in script and workflow-sharing compared to other statistical packages.Our findings demonstrate that the disciplines of forest ecology/forestry are expanding both in number and scope,aided by more sophisticated statistical tools,to tackle the challenges of redressing forest habitat loss and the socio-economic impacts of deforestation.展开更多

Artificial intelligence(AI)has emerged as a pivotal force in empowering entrepreneurial development,which plays an increasingly important role in its opportunity discovery and creation,resource integration,and value c...Artificial intelligence(AI)has emerged as a pivotal force in empowering entrepreneurial development,which plays an increasingly important role in its opportunity discovery and creation,resource integration,and value creation.Although attention and research interest in AI within entrepreneurship research have grown substantially,existing studies remain dispersed and lack systematic integration.This study adopts an unsupervised machine-learning approach,Structural Topic Model(STM),which combines automated coding with manual coding,to analyze 122 articles retrieved from the Web of Science.This study maps the current landscape of research on AI-enabled entrepreneurship across its antecedents,contextual settings,processes,outcomes,theoretical lenses,and methodological tools.The analysis reveals six areas requiring further inquiry:(1)deepening the study of motivational mechanisms,(2)enriching research on contextual fields,(3)exploring pathway mechanisms more thoroughly,(4)examining the positive and negative effects of AI empowerment,(5)breaking new ground in underlying theoretical logic,and(6)integrating diverse technological approaches.Building on these insights,it proposes a future research framework and agenda that(1)investigates the motivation of AI-enabled entrepreneurship in the macro,meso,micro,and cross-level scales;(2)conducts multi-contextual studies spanning regions,industries,and domains;(3)analyzes process pathways from cross-level and dynamic perspectives;(4)attends comprehensively to both positive outcomes and potential negatives of AI-enabled entrepreneurship;and(5)develops a distinctive theoretical system grounded in emerging practices,supported by robust data,tools,and methods.By synthesizing the extant literature and outlining this framework,this study offers a reference for enriching and deepening research on AI-enabled entrepreneurship.展开更多
Since ancient times,zoology,as the branch of biology dealing with animals,has been a cornerstone of natural science and has developed substantially over the last century.We conducted a bibliometric analysis using stru...Since ancient times,zoology,as the branch of biology dealing with animals,has been a cornerstone of natural science and has developed substantially over the last century.We conducted a bibliometric analysis using structural topic modeling(STM)to determine changes in the representation of principal zoological subdisciplines in the literature between 1960 and 2022.We collated a corpus of 217414 articles from 88 top-ranked zoology journals and identified three main fields:(i)ecology,(ii)evolution,and(iii)applied research.Within these,we identified 10 major subdisciplines.The number of studies published per year grew from 118 in 1960 to 6635 in 2022.Macroscale-related subdisciplines increased while classical and traditional subdisciplines decreased.Mammals(34.4%)and insects(18.1%)were the dominant taxa covered,followed by birds(15.2%)and fish(8.0%).Research on mammals,insects,and fish involved a broad range of subdisciplines,whereas studies of birds focused on ecological subdisciplines.Most publications were from the United States,followed by the United Kingdom,Germany,Canada,Australia,China,and Japan,with two developing countries,China and South Africa among the top 15 countries.There were different subdiscipline biases between countries,and the gross domestic product of each country correlated positively with its publication output(R^(2)=0.681).We discuss our findings in the context of advances in technological innovations and computing power,as well as the emergence of ecology as a formal sister discipline,driven by changing environmental pressures and societal values.We caution that valuable publications from traditional zoological fields must not be completely supplanted by more contemporary topics and increasingly sophisticated analyses.展开更多
