This paper focuses on a combination of three-phase VSI (voltage source inverter) with a predictive current control to provide an optimized system for three-phase inverters that control the load current. A FS-MPC (finite set-model predictive control) strategy for a three-phase VSI for RES (renewable energy systems) applications is implemented. The renewable energy systems model is used in this paper to investigate the system performance when power is supplied to resistive-inductive load. With three different cases, the evaluation of the system is done. Firstly, the robustness of control strategy under variable DC-Link is done in terms of the THD (total harmonic distortion). Secondly, with one prediction step, the system performance is tested using different sampling time, and lastly, the dynamic response of the system with step change in the amplitude of the reference is investigated. The simulations and result analyses are carried out using Matlab/Simulink to test the effectiveness and robustness of FS-MPC for two-level VSI with AC filter for resistive-inductive load supplied by a renewable energy system. 展开更多

The application of LCL filters has become popular for inverters connected to the power grid due to their advantages in harmonic current reductions. However,the power grid in a distribution system is non-ideal, presenting itself as a voltage source with significant impedance. This means that an inverter using an LCL filter may interact with other grid-connected inverters via the nonideal grid. In this paper, damping optimization of LCLfilters to reduce this interaction is studied for a three-phase voltage source inverter(VSI). Simulation results show that resonant oscillation occurs in a distributed power grid, even if the VSI with an LCL filter is well designed for standalone applications. A small-signal analysis is performed to predict this stability problem and to locate the boundary of the instability using an impedance approach. Based on these analytical results, optimized damping of the LCLfilter can be designed. The oscillation phenomena and optimized damping design are verified by simulations and experimental measurements. 展开更多

In this paper,a grid voltage sensorless model predictive control is proposed and verified by simulation and experimental tests for a PWM rectifier.The presented method is simple and cost effective due to no need of modulator and voltage sensors.The developed sliding mode voltage observer(SMVO)can theoretically track the grid voltage accurately without phase lag and magnitude error.Based on the proposed SMVO,the finite control set-model predictive control(FCS-MPC)is incorporated for power regulation.The active power and reactive power are calculated and predicted using the measured current and the estimated grid voltage from the SMVO.With the predicated power for one-step delay compensation,the best voltage vector minimizing the tracking error is selected by FCS-MPC.The whole algorithm is implemented in stationary frame without using Park's transformation.Both the simulation and experimental results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

Effect of ladle shroud immersion depth on unsteady three-phase flow in continuous casting tundish during ladle change-over process

The transient phenomena of re-oxidation and slag entrapment occurring in the tundish during the ladle change-over process have been proven detrimental to clean steel production.Therefore,an unsteady three-phase turbulence model,coupling velocity,temperature,and phase field was established to study the effect of the ladle shroud immersion depth on the slag eye formation,slag entrainment,slag dragging,air dragging,and flow characteristics during the ladle change-over process of a two-strand tundish.The results showed that reducing the immersion depth decreases the high-velocity region area under the slag layer in the quasi-steady process.During the emptying stage,as the molten bath level gradually decreases,the outlet temperature exhibits a trend of initially decreasing and subsequently increasing across all three shroud immersion depths.However,under a 210 mm shroud immersion depth,molten slag and air are dragged into the shroud,forming slag droplets and causing significant fluctuations,with a maximum scalar velocity of 0.0764 m/s at the monitoring point.In the filling stage,air and molten slag are dragged into the molten bath,forming bubbles and slag droplets at an immersion depth of 210 mm.Bubbles are observed within the molten slag layer,which can readily cause an emulsification phenomenon,making it easier to be dragged as slag droplets.Additionally,the slag eye area measured under 210 mm immersion depth at 45 s is 0.303 m^(2),while the maximum scalar velocity of 2.4259 m/s is detected at 12 s.At an immersion depth of 360 mm,the average area of the slag eye is minimized to 0.06268 m2,with corresponding variances of 0.006753,representing the optimal immersion depth. 展开更多

The implementation of multifunctional application scenarios for mobile terminal devices has increased the energy density requirements of batteries.Increasing the charging voltage can rapidly increase the specific capacity of layered transition metal oxides;however,it also exacerbates the release of lattice oxygen and the contraction of the unit cell.Ternary materials are designed in a secondary particle state to meet the requirements of power battery applications.Therefore,to create ternary materials that can operate under ultrahigh voltages,attention should be given to both surface modification and particle integrity maintenance.By utilizing elemental selenium(Se)with a low melting point,easy sublimation,and multiple variable valence states,deep grain boundary modification was implemented inside the particles.The performance of the cathode material was evaluated through pouch cells,and the improvement mechanism was explored through molecular dynamics simulation calculations.Under the protection of a three-dimensional Se-rich modified layer,LiNi_(1/3)Co_(1/3)Mn_(1/3)O_(2)achieved stable operation at ultrahigh voltages(4.6 V vs.Li/Li^(+));a sacrificial protection mechanism based on the chronic decomposition of the Se-rich layer was proposed to explain the efficacy of Se modification in stabilizing ternary materials.This deep grain boundary modification based on elemental Se provides a new solution for the ultrahigh-voltage operation of transition metal oxides and provides a scientific basis and technical support for solving the interface contact problem of all-solid-state batteries. 展开更多

The susceptibility of ore particles to electrical breakdown plays a critical role for high voltage pulse(HVP)breakage,yet its quantitative characterization still lacks deep understanding.Two indicators,namely breakdown delay time(T_(d))and breakdown strength(E_(b))were compared,based on analysis on the two breakdown modes namely wavefront mode and post-wave mode.It was found that T_(d) is more suitable to characterize the susceptibility of ore particles to electrical breakdown in HVP breakage than E_(b).A probabilistic model based on the Weibull distribution is developed to describe the relation of breakdown probability to T_(d).Regression analyses were conducted to investigate how operating parameters and particle properties influence Td and size reduction degree of ore particles in HVP breakage.The regressed models demonstrate potential capability to predict metallic minerals content and HVP breakage degree based on operating parameters and particle properties. 展开更多

Fault Identification in Renewable Energy Transmission Lines Using Wavelet Packet Decomposition and Voltage Waveform Analysis

The integration of a high proportion of renewable energy introduces significant challenges for the adaptability of traditional fault nature identification methods.To address these challenges,this paper presents a novel fault nature identification method for renewable energy grid-connected interconnection lines,leveraging wavelet packet decomposition and voltage waveform time-frequency morphology comparison algorithms.First,the paper investigates the harmonic injection mechanism during non-full-phase operation following fault isolation in photovoltaic renewable energy systems,and examines the voltage characteristics of faulted phases in renewable energy scenarios.The analysis reveals that substantial differences exist in both the time and frequency domains of phase voltages before and after the extinction of transient faults,whereas permanent faults do not exhibit such variations.Building on this observation,the paper proposes a voltage time-frequency feature extraction method based on wavelet packet decomposition,wherein low-frequency waveform components are selected to characterize fault features.Subsequently,a fault nature identification method is introduced,based on a voltage waveform time-frequency morphology comparison.By employing a windowing technique to quantify waveform differences before and after arc extinction,this method effectively distinguishes between permanent and transient faults and accurately determines the arc extinction time.Finally,a 220 kV renewable energy grid connection line model is developed using PSCAD for verification.The results demonstrate that the proposed method is highly adaptable across various fault locations,transition resistances,and renewable energy control strategies,and can reliably identify fault nature in renewable energy grid connection scenarios. 展开更多

Accurate estimation of battery health status plays a crucial role in battery management systems.However,the lack of operational data still affects the accuracy of battery state of health(SOH)estimation.For this reason,a SOH estimation method is proposed based on charging data reconstruction combined with image processing.The charging voltage data is used to train the least squares generative adversarial network(LSGAN),which is validated under different levels of missing data.From a visual perspective,the Gram angle field method is applied to convert one-dimensional time series data into image data.This method fully preserves the time series characteristics and nonlinear evolution patterns,which avoids the difficulties and limited expressive power associated with manual feature extraction.At the same time,the Swin Transformer model is introduced to extract global structures and local details from images,enabling better capture of sequence change trends.Combined with the long short-term memory network(LSTM),this enables accurate estimation of battery SOH.Two different types of batteries are used to validate the test.The experimental results show that the proposed method has good estimation accuracy under different training proportions. 展开更多

In this paper, a simple and direct modeling method is proposed for a three-phase VSC taking the unbalanced grid voltage as a new variable for the system.Then coupling in the three-phase system can be calculated by applying the harmonic linearization method. The measuring of VFT phase voltage in three-phase enclosed GIS is more complex and difficult than in single-phase ones. There are 3 capacitive sensors in the measuring system, the outputs of which are with a linear relation to the three phase voltages. This linear relation is presented with a factorial matrix. Because each capacitive sensor is coupled with the electric field of three phases (A, B, and C), the electric coupling coefficients are introduced. In order to determine the matrix of electric coupling coefficients, the numerical calculation method can be used. From the discussion on two types of three-phase enclosed GIS bus, i.e. standard arrangement and biased arrangement, the dominant electric coupling coefficients are named, which can be simply and approximately calculated by an analytic expression. Finally, as an example, the waveforms of VFT phase voltage generated on a three-phase enclosed GIS bus model are displayed. When a capacitive sensor is located at the ’shortest point’ of phase A (or B, or C), the VFT phase voltage V A (or V B, or V C) can almost be measured by that capacitive sensor alone. 展开更多

A novel control strategy for three-phase shunt active power filter (SAPF) was proposed to improve its performance under non-ideal mains voltages. The approach was inspired by our finding that the classic instantaneous reactive power theory based algorithm was unsatisfactory in terms of isolating positive sequence fundamental active components exactly under non-ideal mains voltages. So, a modified ip-iq reference current calculation method was presented. With usage of the new method, not only the positive sequence but also the fundamental active current components can be accurately isolated from load current. A deadbeat closed-loop control model is built in order to eliminate both delay error and tracking error between reference voltages and compensation voltages under unbalanced and distorted mains voltages. Computer simulation results show that the proposed strategy is effective with better tracking ability and lower total harmonic distortion (THD). The strategy is also applied to a 10 kV substation with a local electrolysis manganese plant injecting a large amount of harmonics into the power system, and is proved to be more practical and efficient. 展开更多

The rectifier and inverter of this double-PWM share a set of commutation circuit which can provide soft-switching for the power devices and the diodes. The commutation circuit consists of 1 auxiliary device, 6 resonant inductors, and 12 diodes. Its topology is simpler than the conventional auxiliary resonant converter, leading to low loss and easy control. The control strategy and resonant working modes are analyzed. Metal-insulator-metal aluminium electrolytic capacitors(MIM-AECs)combine high capacity-density and high breakdown field strength of solid AECs with high-frequency responsibility,wide workingtemperature window and waterproof properties of MIM nanocapacitors.However,interfacial atomic diffusion poses a major obstacle,preventing the high-voltage MIM-AECs exploitation and thereby hampering their potential and advantages in high-power and high-energy-density applications.Here,an innovative high-voltage MIM-AECs were fabricated.The AlPO_(4)buffer layer is formed on AlO(OH)/AAO/Al surface by using H_(3)PO_(4)treatment,then a stable van der Waals(vdW)SnO_(2)/AlPO_(4)/AAO/Al multilayer was constructed via atomic layer deposition(ALD)technology.Due to higher diffusion barrier and lower carrier migration of SnO_(2)/AlPO_(4)/AAO interfaces,Sn atom diffusion is inhibited and carrier acceleration by electric field is weakened,guaranteeing high breakdown field strength of dielectric AAO and avoiding local breakdown risks.Through partial etching to hydrated AlO(OH)by H_(3)PO_(4)treatment,the tunnel was further opened up to facilitate subsequent ALD-SnO_(2)entry,thus obtaining a high SnO_(2)coverage.The SnO_(2)/AlPO_(4)/AAO/Al capacitors show a comprehensive performance in high-voltage(260 V),hightemperature(335℃),high-humidity(100%RH)and high-frequency response(100 k Hz),outperforming commercial solid-state AECs,and high-energy density(8.6μWh/cm^(2)),markedly exceeding previously reported MIM capacitors.The work lays the foundation for next-generation capacitors with highvoltage,high-frequency,high-temperature and high-humidity resistance. 展开更多

Fluoride-based electrolyte exhibits extraordinarily high oxidative stability in high-voltage lithium metal batteries(h-LMBs) due to the inherent low highest occupied molecular orbital(HOMO) of fiuorinated solvents. However, such fascinating properties do not bring long-term cyclability of h-LMBs. One of critical challenges is the interface instability in contacting with the Li metal anode, as fiuorinated solvents are highly susceptible to exceptionally reductive metallic Li attributed to its low lowest unoccupied molecular orbital(LUMO), which leads to significant consumption of the fiuorinated components upon cycling.Herein, attenuating reductive decomposition of fiuorinated electrolytes is proposed to circumvent rapid electrolyte consumption. Specifically, the vinylene carbonate(VC) is selected to tame the reduction decomposition by preferentially forming protective layer on the Li anode. This work, experimentally and computationally, demonstrates the importance of pre-passivation of Li metal anodes at high voltage to attenuate the decomposition of fiuoroethylene carbonate(FEC). It is expected to enrich the understanding of how VC attenuate the reactivity of FEC, thereby extending the cycle life of fiuorinated electrolytes in high-voltage Li-metal batteries. 展开更多
