The application conditions of KdV, eKdV and MCC ISWs theories are used in the numerical method. The depthaveraged velocities induced by ISWs are used for the velocity-inlet boundary. Three scale ratio numerical models λ=1, 20 and 300 were selected, which the scale ratio is the size ratio of numerical models to the experimental model. The comparisons between the numerical and former experimental results are performed to verify the feasibility of numerical method. The comparisons between the numerical and simplified theoretical results are performed to discuss the applicability of the simplified theoretical model summarized from the load experiments. Firstly, the numerical results of λ=1 numerical model showed a good agreement with former experimental and simplified theoretical results. It is feasible to simulate the ISWs loads on FPSO by the numerical method. Secondly, the comparisons between the results of three scale ratio numerical models and experimental results indicated that the scale ratios have more significant influence on the experimental horizontal forces than the vertical forces. The scale effect of horizontal forces mainly results from the different viscosity effects associated with the model’s dimension. Finally, through the comparisons between the numerical and simplified theoretical results for three scale ratio models, the simplified theoretical model of the pressure difference and friction forces exerted by ISWs on FPSO is applied for large-scale or full-scale FPSO.展开更多

There are several different kinds of technologies normally used for waste solids disposal, among which landfill is more favorable in China than others, especially for urban waste solids. Most of the design works up to now are based on a roughly estimation of the amount of urban waste solids without any theoretical support, which lead to a series problems. To meet the basic information requirements for the design work, the amount of the urban waste solids was predicted in this research by applying the gray theoretical model GM (1,1) through non linear differential equation simulation. The model parameters were estimated with the least square method (LSM) by running a certain MATALAB program, and the hypothesis test results show that the residual between the prediction value and the actual value approximately comply with the normal distribution N (0,0 21 2), and the probability of the residual within the range (-0 17, 0 19) is more than 95%, which indicate obviously that the model can be well used for the prediction of the amount of waste solids and those had been already testified by the latest two years data about the urban waste solids from Loudi City of China. With this model, the predicted amount of the waste solids produced in Loudi City in the next 30 years is 8049000 ton in total.展开更多

By considering China′s urbanization as a ′testing ground′ of ′western′ theories, these studies are important for the understanding of China′s ongoing urban restructuring and exchanging knowledge with ′western′ insights. Based on a survey of existing studies, this paper identifies various endogenous and exogenous concepts and explanations of China′s urbanization. It is suggested that China′s urbanization is mainly driven by a combination of political decentralization and neoliberalization with various forms of social stratification and mobility. However, it is argued that the distinctness of the ′China Model′, which is usually used to support the legitimacy of studies of China′s urbanization, has led to many controversial arguments and diminished the due contributions of Chinese scholars in the knowledge production of China′s urbanization. To consolidate the legitimacy of studies on China′s urbanization and enhance the roles of Chinese scholars, we suggest future studies to pay more attentions to the fundamental theories with looser constraints and ′true questions′ on China′s urbanization.展开更多

文摘The photosynthetic oxygen-evolving center(OEC)is a unique Mn_(4)CaO_(5)cluster catalyzing the water oxidation into electrons, protons and O_(2)through a five-intermediate state cycle(Sn,n=0,1,2,3,4).The modeling of OEC is essential for understanding the water oxidation mechanism and developing high efficient water oxidation catalysts.Recently,a series of Mn_(4)CaO_(4)model complexes have been synthesized, which have very similar structures to OEC and also show reactivity of water oxidation. In this work,we employed DFT method to investigate the stability of Mn_(4)CaO_(4)model complex in oxidative conditions, aiming to figure out whether it decomposes itself to release O_(2)during the catalytic water oxidation process. We discovered that the barrier for the O−O bond formation is quite high in the S1 and S2 states, while decreases to 40.2 kcal/mol in the S3 state, indicating the good stability in all oxidation states under normal conditions.Acetonitrile and pyridine can effectively reduce the barrier to 36.5 kcal/mol and 29.9 kcal/mol,respectively.Therefore,strong Lewis base, such as pyridine, could be harmful to the stability of Mn_(4)CaO_(4)and shall be avoided when designing such a catalytic system.Once the O−O bond is formed,Mn_(4)CaO_(4)in the S3 state can readily decompose to O_(2),solvated Ca^(2+)and Mn_(4)O_(2)complex,with the assistance of acetonitrile or pyridine. As a comparison, the O_(2)decomposition in the S2 state is kinetically hindered and thermodynamically disfavored. The S4 state Mn_(4)CaO_(4)has a much lower barrier for O-O bond formation, and is unstable. However, the S4 state Mn_(4)CaO_(4)is difficult to achieve under water oxidation condition,as evidenced by the calculated redox potential of 2.3 V for S3→S4 transition.
文摘Background:Traditional imaging approaches to keratoconus(KCN)have thus far failed to produce a standardized approach for diagnosis. While many diagnostic modalities and metrics exist, none have proven robust enough to be considered a gold standard. This study aims to introduce novel metrics to differentiate between KCN and healthy corneas using three-dimensional(3D)measurements of surface area and volume. Methods:This retrospective observational study examined KCN patients along with healthy control patients between the ages of 20 and 79 years old at the University of Maryland,Baltimore. The selected patients underwent a nine-line raster scan anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT).ImageJ was used to determine the central 6 mm of each image and each corneal image was then divided into six 1 mm segments.Free-D software was then used to render the nine different images into a 3D model to calculate corneal surface area and volume.A two-tailed Mann-Whitney test was used to assess statistical significance when comparing these subsets.Results:Thirty-three eyes with KCN,along with 33 healthy control, were enrolled. There were statistically significant differences between the healthy and KCN groups in the metric of anterior corneal surface area(13.927 vs.13.991 mm^(2),P=0.046),posterior corneal surface area(14.045 vs.14.173 mm^(2),P<0.001),and volume(8.430 vs.7.773 mm3,P<0.001)within the central 6 mm.Conclusions:3D corneal models derived from AS-OCT can be used to measure anterior corneal surface area, posterior corneal surface area, and corneal volume. All three parameters are statistically different between corneas with KCN and healthy corneas.Further study and application of these parameters may yield new methodologies for the detection of KCN.

文摘Reconstruction during the oxygen evolution reaction(OER)significantly transforms the geometric structure of transition metal compounds, leading to enhanced catalytic performance. However, the resulting structural disorder complicates the development of accurate theoretical models. In this study,CoS2 is used as a model system to establish a framework for rationally modeling reconstructed OER catalysts based on density functional theory(DFT).In the reconstruction process, sulfur atoms are likely to be substituted by oxygen atoms, leading to the formation of the CoOOH phase.Based on the difference in reconstruction degree,we constructed three types of models:doping, heterostructure, and fully reconstructed, representing the reconstruction degree from minimal to full phase transition, respectively.Fully reconstructed models, which account for strain and vacancy effects, effectively simulate the unique coordination environments of reconstructed catalysts.Model e-CoOOH achieves a theoretical overpotential of 0.38 V,outperforming pristine CoOOH(0.56 V),demonstrating that the unique structural features resulting from reconstruction improve OER performance. The doping model and the heterostructure model are helpful to explain the electronic structure and performance transformation of the reconstruction process. This work provides a rational theoretical modeling approach, which is conducive to improving the reliability of the theoretical OER performance of the reconstructed catalyst.

文摘During strike-slip fault dislocation, multiple fault planes are commonly observed. The resulting permanent ground deformation can lead to profound structural damage to tunnels. However, existing analytical models do not consider multiple fault planes.Instead, they concentrate the entire fault displacement onto a single fault plane for analysis, thereby giving rise to notable errors in the calculated results. To address this issue,a refined nonlinear theoretical model was established to analyze the mechanical responses of the tunnels subjected to multiple strike-slip fault dislocations. The analytical model considers the number of fault planes, nonlinear soil‒tunnel interactions, geometric nonlinearity, and fault zone width, leading to a significant improvement in its range of applicability and calculation accuracy. The results of the analytical model are in agreement, both qualitatively and quantitatively, with the model test and numerical results. Then, based on the proposed theoretical model,a sensitivity analysis of parameters was conducted, focusing on the variables such as the number of fault planes, fault plane distance(d),fault displacement ratio(η),burial depth(C),crossing angle(β),tunnel diameter(D),fault zone width(Wf),and strike-slip fault displacement(Δfs). The results show that the peak shear force(Vmax),bending moment(Mmax),and axial force(Nmax)decrease with increasing d.The Vmax of the tunnel is found at the fault plane with the largest fault displacement.C,D,andΔfs contribute to the increases in Vmax,Mmax, and Nmax.Additionally, increasing the number of fault planes reduces Vmax and Mmax, whereas the variation in Nmax remains minimal.

文摘The development of digital twins for geotechnical structures necessitates the real-time updates of threedimensional(3D)virtual models(e.g.numerical finite element method(FEM)model)to accurately predict time-varying geotechnical responses(e.g.consolidation settlement)in a 3D spatial domain. However, traditional 3D numerical model updating approaches are computationally prohibitive and therefore difficult to update the 3D responses in real time.To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel machine learning framework called sparse dictionary learning(T-3D-SDL)for real-time updating of time-varying 3D geotechnical responses. In T-3D-SDL,a concerned dataset(e.g.time-varying 3D settlement)is approximated as a linear superposition of dictionary atoms generated from 3D random FEM analyses.Field monitoring data are then used to identify non-trivial atoms and estimate their weights within a Bayesian framework for model updating and prediction. The proposed approach enables the real-time update of temporally varying settlements with a high 3D spatial resolution and quantified uncertainty as field monitoring data evolve. The proposed approach is illustrated using an embankment construction project. The results show that the proposed approach effectively improves settlement predictions along temporal and 3D spatial dimensions, with minimal latency(e.g.within minutes),as monitoring data appear. In addition, the proposed approach requires only a reasonably small number of 3D FEM model evaluations, avoids the use of widely adopted yet often criticized surrogate models, and effectively addresses the limitations(e.g.computational inefficiency)of existing 3D model updating approaches.

According to the assumptionof three-dimensional medium with numerous, statistically isotropic and uniformly distributed scatterers, we obtain the analytic form of power spectrum of coda waves for single scattering and the integral form of power spectrum of coda waves for multiple scattering.

文摘An in-depth study of the complicated trajectory characteristics of skipping stones is carried out in the present work.A three-dimensional numerical simulation validated by acquiring good agreement with experimental results is established. It is devoted to illustrating five different types of motion responses after the stone impacts the water surface in the o-xy plane, including“dive”,“hydroplaning trout”,“hydroplaning skip”,“stable skip”,and“skipping trout”.Then, the lateral deviations are investigated quantitatively based on dimensionless parameter sin(α+β)cosαin the o-yz plane.Steady interval and linear interval are divided for lateral deviation Z1/D and Z2/D based on the values of(α+β)andα,respectively. The results reveal that(1)Z1/D increases almost linearly with the increasing sin(α+β)cosαat different slopes in different(α+β)intervals;(2)Z2/D increases almost linearly with the increasing sin(α+β)cosαat different slopes in differentαintervals;(3)in linear interval, numerical lateral deviations are much larger than the fitting values at pointsβ/α≥4.5,and much smaller than the fitting values at points 2.3≤β/α<4.3.Finally,a theoretical approach is proposed to predict the maximum immersion depth of trailing edge point P.

文摘Scale effect of ISWs loads on Floating Production Storage and Offloading(FPSO) is studied in this paper. Finally, through the comparisons between the numerical and simplified theoretical results for three scale ratio models, the simplified theoretical model of the pressure difference and friction forces exerted by ISWs on FPSO is applied for large-scale or full-scale FPSO.
文摘Urban waste solids are now becoming one of the most crucial environmental problems. With this model, the predicted amount of the waste solids produced in Loudi City in the next 30 years is 8049000 ton in total.
文摘This paper presents a hybrid model for three-dimensional Geographical Information Systems which is an integration of surface- and volume-based models. The Triangulated Irregular Network (TIN) and octree models are integrated in this hybrid models. The TIN model works as a surface-based model which mainly serves for surface presentation and visualization. On the other hand, the octree encoding supports volumetric analysis. The designed data structure brings a major advantage in the three-dimensional selective retrieval. This technique increases the efficiency of three-dimensional data operation.

文摘Abstract With the recent products being more reliable, engineers cannot obtain enough failure or degradation information through the design period and even the product lifetime, therefore, accel erated life test (ALT) ihas become the most popular way to quantify the life characteristics of prod ucts. Test design is the most essential topic, such as testing duration, stress profile, data inference, etc. In this paper, a method and procedure based on theoretical life models is proposed to determine the accelerated stress profile. Firstly, the method for theoretical life calculation is put forward based on the main failure mechanism analysis and the theoretical life models. Secondly, the method is pro vided to determine the accelerated stress profile, including the method to determine the accelerated stress types and the stress range on the basis of the main failure mechanism analysis, the method to determine the acceleration factor and the accelerated stress level based on life quantitative calcula tion models, and the collaborative analysis method of the accelerated test time while taking the mul tiple failure mechanisms into consideration. Lastly, the actuator is taken as an example to describe the procedure of the method and the engineering applicability and the validity are verified.

文摘As a major aspect of the ′China Model′, urbanization in China is being heatedly discussed in the Anglophone literature in the last two decades. To consolidate the legitimacy of studies on China′s urbanization and enhance the roles of Chinese scholars, we suggest future studies to pay more attentions to the fundamental theories with looser constraints and ′true questions′ on China′s urbanization.
