The uniaxial and biaxial compressive performances of three-dimensional reinforced carbon/carbon composites (3D C/C) were investigated in this paper. The results showed that the compressive strength becomes larger when the loading direction parallels to the z-direction of 3D C/C. The uniaxial compression failure was mainly caused by fracture fiber bundles to form an overall shear fault in the z-direction. The failure mode was delamination of fiber bundle/matrix interface for the x- and y-direction samples. The biaxial compressive failure of x-y direction compressioncompression specimen was caused by the low interlaminar shear strength. In addition, for y-z and z-x direction compression-compression samples, the shear-type failure was formed on the surface of the specimen plumbing the loading direction. Overall, the weak-interface is still a main factor to influent the fracture mechanism of 3D C/C.展开更多

Spermatogonia and their companion somatic cells maintain a close association throughout spermatogenesis and this association is necessary for normal spermatogenesis. In order to keep the relative integrity of the testicular tissues, and to detect the development in vitro, culture testicular tissues in a three- dimensional (3D) agarose matrix was examined. Testicular tissues isolated from 6.5 d postpartum (dpp) mouse were cultured on the top of the matrix for 26 d with a medium height up to 4/5 of the 3D agarose matrix. The results showed that in this 3D culture environment, each type of testicular cells kept the same structure, localization and function as in vivo and might be more biologically relevant to living organisms. After culture, germ cell marker VASA and meiosis markers DAZL and SCP3 showed typical positive analysed by immunofluorescence staining and RT-PCR. It demonstrated that this 3D culture system was able to maintain the number of germ cells and promote the meiosis initiation of male germ cells.展开更多

The three-dimensional coordinates calculation model of the projectile proximity explosion position based on seven plane detection screens with dynamic characteristics is established.According to the relation of the dynamic seven photoelectric detection screen planes and the time values, the analytical function of the projectile proximity explosion position parameters under non-linear motion is derived. The projectile signal filtering method based on discrete wavelet transform is explored in this work. Additionally, the projectile signal recognition algorithm using an improved particle swarm is proposed. Based on the characteristics of the time duration and the signal peak error for the projectile passing through the detection screen, the signals attribution of the same projectile passing through six detection screens are analyzed for obtaining precise time values of the same projectile passing through the detection screens. On the basis of the projectile fuze proximity explosion test, the linear motion model and the proposed non-linear motion model are used to calculate and compare the same group of projectiles proximity explosion position parameters. The comparison of test results verifies that the proposed test method and calculation model in this work accurately obtain the actual projectile proximity explosion position parameters.展开更多

Despite advancements in technology leading to smaller, more portable devices, penetration testing remains reliant on traditional laptops and computers, which, while portable, lack true ultra-portability. This paper explores the potential impact of developing a dedicated, ultra-portable, low-cost device for on-the-go penetration testing. Such a device could replicate the core functionalities of advanced penetration testing tools, including those found in Kali Linux, within a compact form factor that fits easily into a pocket. By offering the convenience and portability akin to a smartphone, this innovative device could redefine the way penetration testers operate, enabling them to carry essential tools wherever they go and ensuring they are always prepared to conduct security assessments efficiently. This approach aims to revolutionize penetration testing by merging high functionality with unparalleled portability.展开更多

文摘With the depletion of fossil fuels and increasing environmental concerns, the development of renewable energy, such as wave energy, has become a critical component of global energy strategies. However, challenges persist in the field testing methodologies for wave energy converters(WECs).In this paper,a numerical wave field of the Dawanshan Island Sea Area in Zhuhai City is constructed based on the MIKE21 SW wave model and by using an NCEP wind field driving model. In conjunction with the IEC-62600-100 standard,by taking site testing of the“Wanshan”wave energy converter on which a sea trial has been conducted in Dawanshan Island of Zhuhai city as an example, research on-site testing method for a wave energy converter has been carried out.The wave measurement position for the“Wanshan”converter was determined by combining statistically analyzed field data with a validated numerical wave model.By comparing a valid wave height at the position where a wave rider is located with a valid wave height at the position where the“Wanshan”wave energy converter is situated, the correlation coefficient between simulation and observed data reached 0.90,with a root-mean-square error of 0.19.The representativeness of wave measurement data during site testing is verified and can be used as a basis for calculating the input energy of the“Wanshan”wave energy converter.

文摘Adhesions between different cells and extracellular matrix have been studied extensively in vitro, but little is known about their functions in testicular tissue counterparts. It demonstrated that this 3D culture system was able to maintain the number of germ cells and promote the meiosis initiation of male germ cells.
文摘Liposarcoma is one of the most common soft tissue sarcomas, however, its occurrence rate is still rare compared to other cancers.Due to its rarity,in vitro experiments are an essential approach to elucidate liposarcoma pathobiology.Conventional cell culture-based research(2D cell culture)is still playing a pivotal role, while several shortcomings have been recently under discussion. In vivo, mouse models are usually adopted for pre-clinical analyses with expectations to overcome the issues of 2D cell culture. However, they do not fully recapitulate human dedifferentiated liposarcoma(DDLPS)characteristics.Therefore,three-dimensional(3D)culture systems have been the recent research focus in the cell biology field with the expectation to overcome at the same time the disadvantages of 2D cell culture and in vivo animal models and fill in the gap between them.Given the liposarcoma rarity,we believe that 3D cell culture techniques, including 3D cell cultures/co-cultures,and Patient-Derived tumor Organoids(PDOs),represent a promising approach to facilitate liposarcoma investigation and elucidate its molecular mechanisms and effective therapy development. In this review,we first provide a general overview of 3D cell cultures compared to 2D cell cultures. We then focus on one of the recent 3D cell culture applications,Patient-Derived Organoids(PDOs),summarizing and discussing several PDO methodologies. Finally,we discuss the current and future applications of PDOs to sarcoma, particularly in the field of liposarcoma.
文摘Point-of-care testing(POCT)refers to a category of diagnostic tests that are performed at or near to the site of the patients(also called bedside testing)and is capable of obtaining accurate results in a short time by using portable diagnostic devices, avoiding sending samples to the medical laboratories. It has been extensively explored for diagnosing and monitoring patients’diseases and health conditions with the assistance of development in biochemistry and microfluidics.Microfluidic paper-based analytical devices(μPADs)have gained dramatic popularity in POCT because of their simplicity,user-friendly,fast and accurate result reading and low cost.SeveralμPADs have been successfully commercialized and received excellent feedback during the past several decades. This review briefly discusses the main types ofμPADs,preparation methods and their detection principles, followed by a few representative examples. The future perspectives of the development inμPADs are also provided.

文摘To objectively obtain the three-dimensional coordinates of the projectile fuze proximity explosion when projectile intersects the head of missile target, we propose a dynamic seven photoelectric detection screen test method, which is made up of six plane detection screens and a flash photoelectric dynamic detection screen. The comparison of test results verifies that the proposed test method and calculation model in this work accurately obtain the actual projectile proximity explosion position parameters.
文摘The development of minimally invasive surgery has transformed the management of gastrointestinal cancer.Notably,three-dimensional visualization systems have increased surgical precision. This editorial discusses a recent study by Shen and Zhang, which compared the clinical applications of naked-eye threedimensional laparoscopic systems vs traditional optical systems in radical surgery for gastric and colorectal cancer. Both systems appeared to yield comparable surgical and oncological outcomes in terms of safety parameters, operating times, and quality of lymph node dissection. However, the spectacle-free system’s technical and logistical limitations hindered its effects on the surgical team’s overall competency. This editorial examines the authors’findings within the broader context of the evolution of oncologic laparoscopy, discusses the relevance of the results in light of the current literature, and proposes future research directions focused on multicenter validation, comprehensive ergonomic analysis, and technological advancements aimed at enhancing intraoperative collaboration. As technology continues to evolve, clinical implementation of new methods must be supported by robust scientific evidence and standardized criteria,to ensure tangible improvements in efficiency, safety, and oncologic outcomes.
文摘Penetration testing plays a critical role in ensuring security in an increasingly interconnected world. This approach aims to revolutionize penetration testing by merging high functionality with unparalleled portability.

文摘Geomechanical properties of rocks vary across different measurement scales, primarily due to heterogeneity.Micro-scale geomechanical tests, including micro-scale“scratch tests”and nano-scale nanoindentation tests, are attractive at different scales. Each method requires minimal sample volume,is low cost, and includes a relatively rapid measurement turnaround time. However, recent micro-scale test results–including scratch test results and nanoindentation results–exhibit tangible variance and uncertainty, suggesting a need to correlate mineral composition mapping to elastic modulus mapping to isolate the relative impact of specific minerals.Different research labs often utilize different interpretation methods, and it is clear that future micro-mechanical tests may benefit from standardized testing and interpretation procedures. The objectives of this study are to seek options for standardized testing and interpretation procedures, through two specific objectives:(1)Quantify chemical and physical controls on micro-mechanical properties and(2)Quantify the source of uncertainties associated with nanoindentation measurements. To reach these goals,we conducted mechanical tests on three different scales:triaxial compression tests, scratch tests, and nanoindentation tests. We found that mineral phase weight percentage is highly correlated with nanoindentation elastic modulus distribution. Finally,we conclude that nanoindentation testing is a mineralogy and microstructure-based method and generally yields significant uncertainty and overestimation. The uncertainty of the testing method is largely associated with not mapping pore space a priori.Lastly, the uncertainty can be reduced by combining phase mapping and modulus mapping with substantial and random data sampling.
