Three kinds of samples subjected to the hot-extrusion, anneMing and quenching conditions were prepared and immersion tests in 3.5% NaCl solution were carried out. Microstructures and corrosion surface morphologies of the samples were observed by SEM. It was found that the retained β' martensite and (α+kiii) lamella eutectoid in the as hot-extruded material were eliminated after annealing, and corrosion resistance of the alloy was improved. As to the as-quenched material, its corrosion rate was higher than that of the as hotextruded material since the volume fraction of β' phase which was anodic to α phase increased after quenching. Compared with the conventional PAW method, the characteristic of PAW-TIG welding process is that there is no interaction between the two arcs. The addition of TIG can enhance the intrinsic high-efficiency peculiarity and the stability of the keyhole status of PAW. The joints made using PAW and PAW-TIG,respectively,were subjected to microstructural evaluations and tensile testing so as to analyze the effect of TIG arc energy on the microstructure and mechanical properties of these joints. The results of this investigation indicate that significant grain coarsening was observed in the weld metal( WM) and heat affected zone( HAZ)and it is found that the extent of grain coarsening increased with the addition of TIG arc. And the microstructure in hybrid joint, with wider weld width and the smooth surface,is coarser than in PAW joint. Furthermore, the microhardness and ultimate tensile strength( UTS) of hybrid joint is slightly lower than that of PAW joint. Experimental materials were heat treated through different processes, including quenching, normalizing, aging and annealing, and their microstructure, corrosion resistance and mechanical properties were characterized. It is found that quenching causes all β phase transformed into β′ phase, however, normalizing causes β phase transformed into β′, α and κ phases. When the quenched sample is aged, fine к phase is precipitated from the as-quenched microstructure of β′ phase. Annealing causes the transformation of β′ into α and к phases. The results of mechanical property tests show that quenching, normalizing and aging improve the tensile strength and hardness of the experimental material, with a corresponding fall in elongation. The Watts-type with different additive amounts of LaCl3·7H2O(0-1.2g/L) were used in the experiment. Surface morphologies of coatings were examined by scanning electronic microscopy (SEM), transmission electronic microscopy (TEM) was used to measure the coatings' grain size and the microstructure of coatings was detected by X-ray diffraction (XRD). Corrosive investigation was carried out in 3.5 wt.% NaCl solution. The microhardness values of the coatings with different amounts of LaCl 3·7H2O were measured, and the mechanism of the variation in microhardness was studied. Results showed that the addition of rare earth lanthanum refined the grain size and improved the surface consistency of the coatings, meanwhile the microhardness and corrosion property of coatings were improved and achieved a maximum with arround 1.0g/L LaCl 3·7H2O addition in electrolyte. The preferred growth orientation of lanthanum doped coating was crystal face (200), meanwhile the La2 Ni7 phase was detected in the nickel coating by XRD and this was due to the induced co-deposition of elements La and Ni. The reason maybe was that the special out-layer electronic structure of element La raised the polarization of Ni cathode deposition, accelerated the nucleation of Ni and reduced hydrogen evolution from cathode surface.展开更多

It is found that the majorprecipitates of the tested alloy are MC, M_(23)C_6, M_6C and y' in the course of long4erm aging at700 deg C. The carbides maintain good thermal stability with the aging time up to 5008 h. The growthrate of gamma prime precipitates is relatively high in the early aging period and then slows down. The coarsening behavior of gamma prime follows a diffusion-controlled growth procedure. The roomtemperature Rockwell hardness of the alloy aged at 700 deg C increases slightly at the initial stageof aging, but it decreases with the prolonged time. It mainly depends on the size of gamma prime. In comparison with Nimonic alloy 263, the new alloy characterizes with higher tensile andstress-rupture strengths at high temperatures. The new nickel-base superalloy offers a combinationof microstructure stability, strength, ductility and toughness at 700 deg C.展开更多

The microstructure and stress rupture properties of conventionally cast and directionally solidified superalloys were comparatively analyzed. It is indicated that the microstructure of K24 alloy is composed of γ, γ', γ/γ' eutectics and MC carbides. Compared with the microstructure of K24 polycrystalline alloy, γ/γ' eutectic completely dissolves into the γ matrix, the fine and regular γ' phase reprecipitates, and MC carbides decompose to M6C/M23C6 carbides after heat treatment in DZ24 alloy. The rupture life of DZ24 alloy is two times longer than that of K24 alloy. The more homogeneous the size of γ' precipitate, the longer the rupture life. The coarsening and rafting behaviors of γ' precipitates are observed in DZ24 alloy after the stress-rupture test.展开更多

The simulation results demonstrated that the strain rate from 0.05 to 2 ns–1 affected the Young's modulus of nickel nanowires slightly, whereas the yield stress increased. The Young's modulus decreased approximately linearly; however, the yield stress firstly increased and subsequently dropped as the temperature increased. The Young's modulus and yield stress increased as the mean grain size increased from 2.66 to 6.72 nm. Moreover, certain efforts have been made in the microstructure evolution with mechanical properties association under uniaxial tension. Certain phenomena such as the formation of twin structures, which were found in nanowires with larger grain size at higher strain rate and lower temperature, as well as the movement of grain boundaries and dislocation, were detected and discussed in detail. The results demonstrated that the plastic deformation was mainly accommodated by the motion of grain boundaries for smaller grain size. However, for larger grain size, the formations of stacking faults and twins were the main mechanisms of plastic deformation in the polycrystalline nickel nanowire.展开更多

The steel sheet with nickel coating was firstly punched to designed degree of cup shapes. Then the texture of the coating was determined by XRD and the surface microstructure was observed by SEM. The results indicate that, the nickel coating material includes three kinds of textures,i.e. Ni(111),Ni(200) and Ni(220). After cup-drawing deformation, there doesn't appear new texture component for nickel coatings but the change of the intensity of the deformation textures. In the cup-deformation process, the two kinds of main textures Ni(111) and Ni(200) increase in the first and second cup-drawing procedures and then reduce quickly in the third and fourth drawing procedure. However, for the Ni(220) texture,it always increases in whole cup-drawing procedures. With the increase in the drawing, there are some cracks to be found, but not delamination. This shows that nickel coating and the substrate have a good combinable performance.展开更多

文摘The microstructural features and high temperature tensile properties of M963 superalloy at as cast, as solutioned and as aged conditions were investigated in detail. The results show that the solution treatment at 1?220?℃ for 4?h, AC causes an increase in high temperature yield strength but a drastic drop in high temperature ductility due to the precipitation of both the secondary carbide M 6C along grain boundaries and at the interdendritic regions and very fine γ ′ particles in the dendrite cores. Aging treatment following the solution treatment can improve the high temperature tensile properties of M963 superalloy due to the coarsing of the γ′ precipitate. One stage aging at 850?℃ for 16?h following the solution treatment causes an increase in both strength and ductility of alloy M963, and two stage aging of 1?089?℃ / 2?h, AC plus 850?℃ / 16?h, AC following the solution treatment further increases the ductility of alloy M963 but slightly decreases its strength.

文摘Improvement of mechanical and tribological behaviors of zinc-based die cast alloy is necessary for bearing applications, and chemical modification is found to be a good choice.Chemical modification of Zn-27wt.%Al alloy was carried out with 1%,2%and 3%nickel through casting route, and its effect on microstructure, hardness, and dry sliding wear behavior was investigated.Significant refinement of dendritic microstructure is observed along with a transformation from rosette to near rounded morphology with the increase in nickel content of base alloy. With 1%nickel modification,an aluminum-rich Al_(3)Ni intermetallic compound of string type forms in inter dendritic region, while with 2%and 3%nickel modifications,a nickel-rich AlNi3 intermetallic compound of lath/plate type is formed within the intra dendritic region.Hardness of the base alloy is improved through grain boundary strengthening at a lower concentration of nickel, and particulate strengthening and spinodal decomposition are the reason for increase in hardness of the alloy with a higher content of nickel.Coefficient of friction and wear rate of base alloy is decreased with increasing nickel amount.Worn surface is characterized by delamination, smearing and grooving. The wear mechanism is transferred from adhesion to abrasive via oxide film formation with an increase in amount of nickel.

文摘The influence of rare earth chloride LaCl3 ·7H2O addition on the microstructural features, phase structure, corrosion resistance and microhardness of nickel-electroplating was investigated. The reason maybe was that the special out-layer electronic structure of element La raised the polarization of Ni cathode deposition, accelerated the nucleation of Ni and reduced hydrogen evolution from cathode surface.

文摘In recent research, a novel method combined with pulse current (PC) deposition and the ultrasonic (U) field was used to fabricate pure nickel and nickel-ceria composite coatings, respectively. Morphology, crack propagation, and crystal texture were observed and analysed by using environment scanning electron microscopy (E-SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Orthogonal experiment [L16 (45)] was designed to optimize the parameters of pulsed power and the appropriate amount of RE addition based on microhardness. Effect of RE addition and pulsed current on the mechanism of co-electrodeposition was also investigated and compared. Experimental results indicated that it produced the alloying coatings, exhibiting compact grain and amorphous state. Nano-sized RE would preferentially occupy and pad at the edge of cracked gaps and micropore to limit the growing location and space for coarse Ni grain. Furthermore, during annealing at 480 ℃ for 2 h, a solid-solution precipitated phase named NiCexO1-x (0
文摘Mechanical properties and microstructure changes have been investigated on anew nickel-base superalloy after long-term aging at 700 deg C. The new nickel-base superalloy offers a combinationof microstructure stability, strength, ductility and toughness at 700 deg C.
文摘A new directionally solidified Ni-based superalloy DZ24, which is a modification of K24 alloy without rare and expensive elemental additions, such as Ta and Hf, was studied in this paper. The coarsening and rafting behaviors of γ' precipitates are observed in DZ24 alloy after the stress-rupture test.

文摘The microstructure of lneonel 601 nickel-based superalloy after gas tungsten arc welding and its transformation at different solution temperatures are studied. The results show that the original microstructure of weld seam is characterized coarsened austenitic granular crystal, there are a large amount of dispersed carbide and γ' phase with carbide as the core in the boundary of grains. Grain of heat-affected zone grows up severely with very little precipitated carbide. The carbide and γ' phase are gradually solved into the austenite matrix with the increase of solution treatment temperature. Especicdly solution treated at 1 150 ℃, the carbide and γ' phase are completely solved into the austenite matrix, the coarsened equiaxed anstenite grain sizes are refined.

文摘Through molecular dynamics(MD) simulation, the dependencies of temperature, grain size and strain rate on the mechanical properties were studied. However, for larger grain size, the formations of stacking faults and twins were the main mechanisms of plastic deformation in the polycrystalline nickel nanowire.
文摘Nanocrystalline zinc-nickel alloy coatings were deposited from an alkaline zincate bath contained an organic additive that can reduce polarization and a complexing agent. SEM and TEM observations and XRD analysis were performed to examine the microstructure and phase composition of the coatings. The nickel content in deposits is 12.0-14.7% and the coating is consisted of single nanocrystalline y-phase structure (Ni5Zn2i), with grain average grain size about 15nm. The nanocrystalline zinc-nickel alloy coatings have better corrosion resistance, less bnttleness and higher microhardness than the conventional zinc coatings.

文摘The deformation texture and surface microstructure of nickel coating induced by deep cup-drawing were studied by X-ray diffractometry and SEM. This shows that nickel coating and the substrate have a good combinable performance.
