In order to study the surface potential of anomalies, three-dimensional forward modeling of point and line sources was conducted by using the finite-difference method and the incomplete Cholesky conjugate gradient (ICCG) method. Then, the damping least square method was used in the 3D inversion of the formation resistivity data. Several geological models were considered in the forward modeling and inversion. The forward modeling results suggest that the potentials generated by the two sources have different surface signatures. The inversion data suggest that the low- resistivity anomaly is outlined better than the high-resistivity anomaly. The 3D-SCALO problem is a challenging bilevel combinatorial optimization task, involving the optimization of discrete component assignment variables in the outer layer and continuous component position variables in the inner layer, with both influencing each other. To address this issue, first, a Mixed Integer Programming(MIP) model is proposed, which reformulates the original bilevel problem into a single-level optimization problem, enabling the exploration of a more comprehensive optimization space while avoiding iterative nested optimization. Then, to model the 3D geometric relationships between components within the MIP framework, a linearized 3D Phi-function method is proposed, which handles non-overlapping and safety distance constraints between cuboid components in an explicit and effective way. Subsequently, the Finite-Rectangle Method(FRM) is proposed to manage 3D geometric constraints for complex-shaped components by approximating them with a finite set of cuboids, extending the applicability of the geometric modeling approach. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed MIP model are demonstrated through two numerical examples"and a real-world engineering case, which confirms its suitability for complex-shaped components and real engineering applications.展开更多

The electric double layers and electroosmosis are important flow-electricity interaction phenomena. This paper presents a thickness-averaged model to solve three-dimensional complex electroosmotic flows in a wide-shallow microchan- nel/chamber combined (MCC) chip based on the Navier-Stokes equations for the flow field and the Poisson equation to the electric field. Behaviors of the electroosmotic flow, the electric field, and the pressure are analyzed. The quantitative effects of the wall charge density (or the zeta potential) and the applied electric field on the electroosmotic flow rate are investigated. The two-dimensional thickness-averaged flow model greatly simplifies the three-dimensional computation of the complex electroosmotic flows, and correctly reflects the electrookinetic effects of the wall charge on the flow. The numerical results indicate that the electroosmotic flow rate of the thickness-averaged model agrees well with that of the three-dimensional slip-boundary flow model. The flow streamlines and pressure distribution of these two models are in qualitative agreement.展开更多

The QZ method is utilized to obtain neutral curves of the linear instability. The details of instability are analyzed by solving the generalized Orr-Sommerfeld equation. The critical Reynolds number Rec, the stream-wise and span-wise critical wave numbers αc and βc are obtained for a wide range of Hartmann number Ha. The effects of Lorentz force and span-wise perturbation on three-dimensional instability are investigated. A series of electric field analogue experiments has been conducted by focusing on symmetrical multi-lateral wells and dual-lateral wells of arbitrary angles between laterals. This research not only evaluates the productivity equations of a symmetrical multi-lateral well showing the effect of angles on productivity, but also proposes the concept of the multi-lateral productivity coefficient. Moreover, the multi-lateral productivity coefficient equation is designed to calculate the productivity of dual-lateral wells of variable angles, which is in turn supported by experiment. 文摘The corrosion problems of high-voltage power transmission conductors typically occur in environments with electric fields. However, current research mainly focuses on atmospheric corrosion of metals with limited attention to the combined effects of electric fields and atmospheric conditions on metal corrosion. This study established a corrosion prediction model that considers the effects of electric fields and dynamic boundaries.Because of the influence of dynamic boundaries, this model can calculate parameters such as corrosion rate, corrosion depth, corrosion product accumulation and ion concentration for metal samples with and without an external electric field. The model is validated through indoor accelerated corrosion tests under low applied electric fields and by using aluminium alloy conductor samples from high electric field regions of actual±500 kV power transmission lines. The results indicate that the corrosion rate of aluminium alloys initially increases and then decreases over time.Additionally, the corrosion rate of aluminium alloys under an applied electric field is higher than that without an electric field during the same period. The mechanism of increased corrosion rate is analysed to be that the presence of the electric field accelerates the cathode reaction rate of the electrode. The corrosion rate of the sample increased by about 78%under a lower electric field(0-20 kV/m)and by about 2.75 times under a higher electric field around 2000 kV/m.

文摘To comprehensively utilize the valuable geological map, exploration profile, borehole, and geochemical logging data and the knowledge on the formation of the Jinshan Ag-Au deposit for forecasting the exploration targets of concealed ore bodies,three-dimensional Mineral Prospectivity Modeling(MPM)of the deposit has been conducted using the weights-of-evidence(WofE)method.Conditional independence between evidence layers was tested, and the outline results using the prediction-volume(P-V)and Student's t-statistic methods for delineating favorable mineralization areas from continuous posterior probability map were critically compared.Four exploration targets delineated ultimately by the Student's t-statistic method for the discovery of minable ore bodies in each of the target areas were discussed in detail. The main conclusions include:(1)three-dimensional modeling of a deposit using multi-source reconnaissance data is useful for MPM in interpreting their relationships with known ore bodies;(2)WofE modeling can be used as a straightforward tool for integrating deposit model and reconnaissance data in MPM;(3)the Student's t-statistic method is more applicable in binarizing the continuous prospectivity map for exploration targeting than the PV approach;and(4)two target areas within high potential to find undiscovered ore bodies were diagnosed to guide future near-mine exploration activities of the Jinshan deposit.

文摘Satellite Component Layout Optimization(SCLO) is crucial in satellite system design. This paper proposes a novel Satellite Three-Dimensional Component Assignment and Layout Optimization(3D-SCALO) problem tailored to engineering requirements, aiming to optimize satellite heat dissipation while considering constraints on static stability, 3D geometric relationships between components, and special component positions. Finally, the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed MIP model are demonstrated through two numerical examples"and a real-world engineering case, which confirms its suitability for complex-shaped components and real engineering applications.

文摘Einstein aimed to find a unified theoretical model to explain various interactions in nature, and the relationship between gravitational and electric fields was particularly important. For the first time, this paper provides the internal relationship equations of the electric and magnetic fields.Further, the relationship between the magnetic and gravity fields is analyzed, and the relationship equations of the electric, magnetic, and gravity fields are established. On this basis,a general formula for calculating the radius of charged particles is derived.Simultaneously,we also discussed and made predictions on black holes, providing convenience for future research and experimental detection.
文摘Background:Traditional imaging approaches to keratoconus(KCN)have thus far failed to produce a standardized approach for diagnosis. While many diagnostic modalities and metrics exist, none have proven robust enough to be considered a gold standard. This study aims to introduce novel metrics to differentiate between KCN and healthy corneas using three-dimensional(3D)measurements of surface area and volume. Methods:This retrospective observational study examined KCN patients along with healthy control patients between the ages of 20 and 79 years old at the University of Maryland,Baltimore. The selected patients underwent a nine-line raster scan anterior segment optical coherence tomography(AS-OCT).ImageJ was used to determine the central 6 mm of each image and each corneal image was then divided into six 1 mm segments.Free-D software was then used to render the nine different images into a 3D model to calculate corneal surface area and volume.A two-tailed Mann-Whitney test was used to assess statistical significance when comparing these subsets.Results:Thirty-three eyes with KCN,along with 33 healthy control, were enrolled. There were statistically significant differences between the healthy and KCN groups in the metric of anterior corneal surface area(13.927 vs.13.991 mm^(2),P=0.046),posterior corneal surface area(14.045 vs.14.173 mm^(2),P<0.001),and volume(8.430 vs.7.773 mm3,P<0.001)within the central 6 mm.Conclusions:3D corneal models derived from AS-OCT can be used to measure anterior corneal surface area, posterior corneal surface area, and corneal volume. All three parameters are statistically different between corneas with KCN and healthy corneas.Further study and application of these parameters may yield new methodologies for the detection of KCN.

文摘Vehicle electrification,an important method for reducing carbon emissions from road transport, has been promoted globally. In this study,we analyze how individuals adapt to this transition in transportation and its subsequent impact on urban structure.Considering the varying travel costs associated with electric and fuel vehicles,we analyze the dynamic choices of households concerning house locations and vehicle types in a two-dimensional monocentric city.A spatial equilibrium is developed to model the interactions between urban density, vehicle age and vehicle type.An agent-based microeconomic residential choice model dynamically coupled with a house rent market is developed to analyze household choices of home locations and vehicle energy types, considering vehicle ages and competition for public charging piles.Key findings from our proposed models show that the proportion of electric vehicles(EVs)peaks at over 50%by the end of the first scrappage period, accompanied by more than a 40%increase in commuting distance and time compared to the scenario with only fuel vehicles.Simulation experiments on a theoretical grid indicate that heterogeneity-induced residential segregation can lead to urban sprawl and congestion.Furthermore, households with EVs tend to be located farther from the city center, and an increase in EV ownership contributes to urban expansion. Our study provides insights into how individuals adapt to EV transitions and the resulting impacts on home locations and land use changes. It offers a novel perspective on the dynamic interactions between EV adoption and urban development.
文摘Proton Exchange Membrane Water Electrolyzers(PEMWE)are efficient and sustainable hydrogen production devices. This article analyzes their static and dynamic electrical models integrated with degradation mechanisms.Static models reveal steady-state behavior, while dynamic models capture transient responses to input variations. The developed modeling approach combines the activation and diffusion phenomena, resulting in a novel PEMWE model that closely reflects real-world conditions and enables fast simulations. The electrical model is integrated with the aging model through two key ratios, surface degradation ratio and membrane degradation ratio, which characterize degradation mechanisms affecting electrode and membrane performance. The linear model using second-order Taylor approximation enables the development of a diagnosis approach that can contribute to estimating the remaining useful life of PEMWEs.By associating aging models with electrical models through the proposed ratios,a deeper understanding is achieved regarding how degra-dation phenomena evolve and influence electrolyzer efficiency and durability. The integrated framework enables predictive maintenance strategies, making it valuable for industrial hydrogen production applications.

文摘Accurate Electric Load Forecasting(ELF)is crucial for optimizing production capacity, improving operational efficiency, and managing energy resources effectively. Moreover, precise ELF contributes to a smaller environmental footprint by reducing the risks of disruption, downtime, and waste. However, with increasingly complex energy consumption patterns driven by renewable energy integration and changing consumer behaviors,no single approach has emerged as universally effective. In response, this research presents a hybrid modeling framework that combines the strengths of Random Forest(RF)and Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average(ARIMA)models, enhanced with advanced feature selection—Minimum Redundancy Maximum Relevancy and Maximum Synergy(MRMRMS)method—to produce a sparse model.Additionally, the residual patterns are analyzed to enhance forecast accuracy.High-resolution weather data from Weather Underground and historical energy consumption data from PJM for Duke Energy Ohio and Kentucky(DEO&K)are used in this application. This methodology, termed SP-RF-ARIMA,is evaluated against existing approaches;it demonstrates more than 40%reduction in mean absolute error and root mean square error compared to the second-best method.

文摘The development of digital twins for geotechnical structures necessitates the real-time updates of threedimensional(3D)virtual models(e.g.numerical finite element method(FEM)model)to accurately predict time-varying geotechnical responses(e.g.consolidation settlement)in a 3D spatial domain. However, traditional 3D numerical model updating approaches are computationally prohibitive and therefore difficult to update the 3D responses in real time.To address these challenges, this study proposes a novel machine learning framework called sparse dictionary learning(T-3D-SDL)for real-time updating of time-varying 3D geotechnical responses. In T-3D-SDL,a concerned dataset(e.g.time-varying 3D settlement)is approximated as a linear superposition of dictionary atoms generated from 3D random FEM analyses.Field monitoring data are then used to identify non-trivial atoms and estimate their weights within a Bayesian framework for model updating and prediction. The proposed approach enables the real-time update of temporally varying settlements with a high 3D spatial resolution and quantified uncertainty as field monitoring data evolve. The proposed approach is illustrated using an embankment construction project. The results show that the proposed approach effectively improves settlement predictions along temporal and 3D spatial dimensions, with minimal latency(e.g.within minutes),as monitoring data appear. In addition, the proposed approach requires only a reasonably small number of 3D FEM model evaluations, avoids the use of widely adopted yet often criticized surrogate models, and effectively addresses the limitations(e.g.computational inefficiency)of existing 3D model updating approaches.

文摘The microfiuidic system is a multi-physics interaction field that has at- tracted great attention. The flow streamlines and pressure distribution of these two models are in qualitative agreement.

文摘Covalent organic frameworks(COFs) are a class of crystalline porous organic materials with variable structures and fascinating properties. The intrinsic low conductivity impedes their widely application in optoelectronic. Iodine doping is an effective way to enhance the electrical conductivity of COFs. Here, a novel 3D imine COF with lvt topology is synthesized from two different pentacene derivatives with the same core in the form of structural complementarity. DDHP-COF is a highly crystalline material featuring high surface area of 1679 m^(2)/g and excellent thermal stability up to 490 ℃. Upon doping with iodine, the electrical conductivity can reach as high as 1.5×10^(-2)S/m which is significantly enhanced over 6 orders of magnitude compared with the pristine COF.

文摘The three-dimensional instability of an electrically conducting fluid between two parallel plates affected by an imposed transversal magnetic field is numerically investigated by a Chebyshev collocation method. The results show that magnetic field would suppress the instability and critical Reynolds number tends to be larger than that for two-dimensional instability.
文摘The efficient utilization of propeller slipstream energy is important for improving the ultra-short takeoff and landing capability of Distributed Electric Propulsion(DEP)aircraft. This paper presents a quasi-three-dimensional(2.5D)high-lift wing design approach considering the three-dimensional(3D)effects of slipstream for DEP aircraft, aiming at maximizing the comprehensive lift enhancement benefit of the airframe-propulsion coupling unit.A high-precision and efficient momentum source method is adopted to simulate the slipstream effects, and the distributed propellers are replaced by a rectangular actuator disk to reduce the difficulty of grid generation and improve the grid quality.A detailed comparison of the 2.5D and 3D configurations based on the X-57 ModⅣis performed in terms of flow characteristics and computational cost to demonstrate the rationality of the above design approach. The optimization results of the high-lift wing of the X-57 ModⅣshow that the aerodynamic performance of the landing configuration is significantly improved, for instance, the lift coefficient increases by 0.094 at the angle of attack of 7°,and 0.097 at the angle of attack of 14°.This novel approach achieves efficient and effective design of high-lift wings under the influence of distributed slipstream, which has the potential to improve the design level of DEP aircraft.
文摘There is a close theoretical similarity between water pressure gradients in aquifers and applied voltage gradients in aqueous solutions. It also helps provide the experimental basis for optimizing the configuration, and building the semi-analytic productivity model, of multi-lateral wells.
