Objectives This study aimed to analyse the benefits of a gamified clinical supervision strategy during hospital-based training,particularly regarding the development of critical and reflective thinking among undergrad...Objectives This study aimed to analyse the benefits of a gamified clinical supervision strategy during hospital-based training,particularly regarding the development of critical and reflective thinking among undergraduate nursing students.Methods From April to July 2023,second-year nursing students who undertaking a nine-week clinical placement in a cardiology ward in northern Portugal were selected.Following a two-week diagnostic phase,students participated in a six-week gamified supervision programme comprising weekly 60-min sessions:infection-control decision-making;technical-procedural reasoning;guided emotional and ethical reflection;and clinical reasoning quiz on cardiology topics.Students completed weekly Structured Reflection Guide entries;supervisors recorded structured field notes after each session;and,after the intervention,students answered a post-intervention questionnaire and participated in focus groups.Qualitative data(reflections,field notes,open-ended questionnaire items,and focus-group transcripts)were analyzed using Bardin’s content analysis;quantitative questionnaire items were summarized descriptively.Results All seven students completed the six gamified sessions and submitted weekly reflection entries.Five students(71.4%)completed the questionnaire.Across data sources,students reported that gamified activities supported knowledge consolidation,teamwork,and clinical reasoning.Questionnaire data showed that all respondents(n=5,100%)strongly agreed that gamification enhanced their learning and should be maintained in clinical training.Reflections and focus groups revealed recurring themes related to emotional expression,sense of belonging,and difficulties using structured reflection tools,particularly in terms of comprehension and timing.Conclusion The gamified supervision strategy integrated into clinical training provided structured opportunities for practical engagement,collaborative work,and guided reflection.These findings suggest that gamification may support the development of reflective and critical-thinking processes in authentic clinical environments.展开更多
In recent years,acoustic logic gates has attracted growing interest in acoustics due to their promising applications in acoustic communication and signal processing.For practical implementation,these logic gates must ...In recent years,acoustic logic gates has attracted growing interest in acoustics due to their promising applications in acoustic communication and signal processing.For practical implementation,these logic gates must operate over a certain bandwidth to ensure reliable performance.However,current experimental realizations have predominantly been confined to single-frequency or narrowband operation,leaving their broadband capabilities largely unverified.To address this gap,we present both numerical and experimental demonstrations of three basic acoustic logic gates(OR,NOT,and AND)using a phased unit cell composed of a central channel flanked by two arrays of semicircular cavities.By leveraging phase modulation of the unit cells and linear interference of sound,we achieve these logic operations with a uniform threshold of I_(t)=0.25.Remarkably,the measured fractional bandwidths(bandwidth relative to center frequency)reach approximately 111.5%(OR),37.2%(NOT),and 48.5%(AND),demonstrating ultra-broadband functionality.The proposed logic gates combine exceptional bandwidth with structural simplicity,offering significant potential for applications in acoustic computing,information processing,and integrated acoustic systems.展开更多

We used heart rate var...Our research studied the physiological response of participants during a creative task to investigate if a person’s psychophysiological state was correlated with divergent thinking performance. We used heart rate variability as our physiological measure. We asked 50 participants to perform a cognitive task that assessed their divergent thinking skills and recorded their heart rate and heart rate variability (HRV) before and during the task. Frequency domain analysis was performed on the HRV. The results showed that there was a significant negative correlation between log-transformed low frequency HRV power and the number of “divergent thinking” words generated. Our results suggest that a person’s psychophysiological state is correlated with their divergent thinking performance, and that attention and motivation may be important factors, however this needs further research. Our findings also suggest that being in a relaxed state before the start of a creative task is not a predictor of creative performance.展开更多

Based on the discussion of rational presuppositions of critical thinking in Western cultures, this article argues that, while Western critical thinking presets a kind of rationality which is biased to-wards descriptive logic rather than prescriptive logic, the virtue - centered traditional Chinese culture cultivates a gener-al habit of using methods of prescriptive logic. Descriptive logic accounts for “how to get” true judgments while pre- scriprive logic aims at explaining “why a true judgment is true”. The advancement of Artificial Intelligence(AI)has garnered significant attention within the academic research community,reflecting the prevailing zeitgeist.However,there is a paucity of literature that has delved into...The advancement of Artificial Intelligence(AI)has garnered significant attention within the academic research community,reflecting the prevailing zeitgeist.However,there is a paucity of literature that has delved into its connection with the higher order thinking skills of human beings.The purpose of this systematic review is to investigate the relationship between AI utilization and the development of critical thinking(CT)in the field of education.A systematic literature search was performed in two databases,Web of Science and Scopus,with a focus on empirical studies related to AI and CT.The review process followed the PRISMA framework and adopted a bottom-up approach,Ultimately,the integrated review synthesized 21 eligible studies from a total of 649 articles.The systematic review identified three relationships between AI technologies and CT.The results suggest that AI technologies can help to enhance learners’CT skills(n=13).However,excessive or inappropriate utilization of AI may hinder CT development(n=7).Moreover,the cultivation of CT skills has been shown to positively influence the effectiveness of AI utilization(n=4).This article represents the first literature review to delve into the reciprocal relationship between AI implementation and CT development within the education field,striving to illuminate the ways in which learners can enhance their higher-order thinking skills through more effective utilization of AI technologies.展开更多

In industrial control systems,such as power transmission facilities and water treatment plants,Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs)can work consistently and stably over long periods if there are no faults.Black-box id...In industrial control systems,such as power transmission facilities and water treatment plants,Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs)can work consistently and stably over long periods if there are no faults.Black-box identification aims to automatically construct Petri net models with the help of I/O signals from PLC devices only.The main challenge is how to convert the infinitely long PLC signals into an event sequence,which is the foundation for subsequent modeling.The current algorithms are confronted with a number of challenges,including an exponential increase in the number of transitions,high time complexity,and susceptibility to noisy signals.To solve these problems,this paper proposes a new method for converting PLC signals into a transition sequence.The method is based on the principles of Boolean absorption law,which filters out noise information in the I/O signals.Then firing functions representing input–output causality are constructed from the filtered signals.Finally,the original signal sequence is traversed to generate a transition sequence.The experimental results show that these methods can rapidly identify a transition sequence.Compared to traditional methods,the proposed algorithms have polynomial time complexity.展开更多

文摘In uncovering the mechanisms of teaching critical thinking in China,scholars tend to ignore the re-quirement of rational thinking in teaching. Based on the discussion of rational presuppositions of critical thinking in Western cultures, this article argues that, while Western critical thinking presets a kind of rationality which is biased to-wards descriptive logic rather than prescriptive logic, the virtue - centered traditional Chinese culture cultivates a gener-al habit of using methods of prescriptive logic. Descriptive logic accounts for “how to get” true judgments while pre- scriprive logic aims at explaining “why a true judgment is true”. Critical thinking education in China should pay more attention to the role descriptive logic plays. The fact that the new - media infomiarion disseminarion is deepening in- tercultiiral communication makes it necessary to implement critical thinking education in China,but the implementa-tion should be focused on cultivating the students* ability to organize discourse in a logical way.

文摘The advancement of Artificial Intelligence(AI)has garnered significant attention within the academic research community,reflecting the prevailing zeitgeist.However,there is a paucity of literature that has delved into its connection with the higher order thinking skills of human beings.The purpose of this systematic review is to investigate the relationship between AI utilization and the development of critical thinking(CT)in the field of education.A systematic literature search was performed in two databases,Web of Science and Scopus,with a focus on empirical studies related to AI and CT.The review process followed the PRISMA framework and adopted a bottom-up approach,Ultimately,the integrated review synthesized 21 eligible studies from a total of 649 articles.The systematic review identified three relationships between AI technologies and CT.The results suggest that AI technologies can help to enhance learners’CT skills(n=13).However,excessive or inappropriate utilization of AI may hinder CT development(n=7).Moreover,the cultivation of CT skills has been shown to positively influence the effectiveness of AI utilization(n=4).This article represents the first literature review to delve into the reciprocal relationship between AI implementation and CT development within the education field,striving to illuminate the ways in which learners can enhance their higher-order thinking skills through more effective utilization of AI technologies.

In the practical teaching of property law, not only should students be guided to learn basic knowledge of legal provisions, but also good logical thinking ability should be cultivated. The concept of real right is not specific, which reflects a certain degree of abstraction. In the teaching, we can use the teaching mode of "from assignment to general" and focus on cultivating students' abstract thinking ability. The concept of real right also has certain duality. Heuristic questioning plays an important role in cultivating students' reverse thinking mode. At the same time, the concept of real right also embodies the characteristics of typology. 文摘With the advancement of globalization,university students need not only to master English language skills but also to develop critical thinking and logical expression skills,both of which are crucial for academic and professional success.As an interactive and structured learning activity,English debates provide an effective platform for enhancing these cognitive and linguistic skills.This study investigates the impact of English debates on students’critical thinking and logical expression skills by analyzing pre-and post-debate assessments,survey data,and in-depth interviews with debate participants.The results indicate significant improvements in critical thinking skills,including argumentation logic,rebuttal techniques,and problem awareness.Students also demonstrated notable progress in organizing and expressing complex ideas logically in English.These findings offer valuable insights for English teaching in higher education,suggesting that debates can serve as an effective pedagogical tool for fostering both language and cognitive development in university students.

文摘The education reform of integrating ideological and political theories in all courses is crucial in fostering virtue through education.In the new era,foreign language courses are increasingly prominent in moral education.Learning a language is not just about mastering its language form but also about critically examining the cultural connotations and thinking patterns embedded within it.Therefore,cultivating students’critical thinking skills should be a key focus in foreign language education.First,this paper examines the importance of fostering students’critical thinking in foreign language courses.Second,considering the characteristics of Chinese college foreign language courses,we propose that if we want to cultivate critical thinking among students through foreign language courses,we need to effect pattern transformations across four aspects:teaching philosophy,teaching content,teaching methodology,and teaching evaluation.These transformations also present requirements for foreign language teachers.They should focus on enhancing their comprehensive literacy,including ideological and political literacy,teaching design skills,and the ability to integrate teaching materials with logical thinking.And China’s Standards of English Language Ability(the CSE)serves as an important reference indicator for implementing these transformations.

文摘In industrial control systems,such as power transmission facilities and water treatment plants,Programmable Logic Controllers(PLCs)can work consistently and stably over long periods if there are no faults.Black-box identification aims to automatically construct Petri net models with the help of I/O signals from PLC devices only.The main challenge is how to convert the infinitely long PLC signals into an event sequence,which is the foundation for subsequent modeling.The current algorithms are confronted with a number of challenges,including an exponential increase in the number of transitions,high time complexity,and susceptibility to noisy signals.To solve these problems,this paper proposes a new method for converting PLC signals into a transition sequence.The method is based on the principles of Boolean absorption law,which filters out noise information in the I/O signals.Then firing functions representing input–output causality are constructed from the filtered signals.Finally,the original signal sequence is traversed to generate a transition sequence.The experimental results show that these methods can rapidly identify a transition sequence.Compared to traditional methods,the proposed algorithms have polynomial time complexity.
