Theme park development has become an important choice for tourism space development in Chinese cities,and the theming of space as well as the implied consumption symbols and cultural implications are usually viewed as...Theme park development has become an important choice for tourism space development in Chinese cities,and the theming of space as well as the implied consumption symbols and cultural implications are usually viewed as examples for the development of other urban spaces,such as cultural tourism towns.The result is the Disneyization of urban tourism space.With the construction of characteristic towns being vigorously promoted throughout China,cultural tourism towns are springing up.They are typical of the“Wuzhen Town Mode”and represent the process of the Disneyization of tourism space in China.This research reflects on the evolution of the characteristics of tourism space in China.Taking the Wuzhen Town Mode as an example,this study reveals the characteristics and conversion mechanism of the Disneyization of tourism space in Chinese cities.According to this research,the Wuzhen Town Mode of the Disneyization is characterized by theming,hybrid consumption,merchandising,and performative labor.Residential function is a unique characteristic of the Disneyization of cultural tourism towns in China.Moreover,the Wuzhen Town Mode of the Disneyization is jointly motivated by the driving force of local governments,the propulsive force of tourist demand,the attractive force of the social environment,and the driving force of capital.Finally,suggestions and policy proposals are provided for the Disneyization of tourism space in China.展开更多

At present,Chinese theme parks are popping up more and more.There are not many theme parks in China that can operate stably for a long period of time.The development prospect of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Pa...At present,Chinese theme parks are popping up more and more.There are not many theme parks in China that can operate stably for a long period of time.The development prospect of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park is good.However,the question of how to maintain and improve the competitiveness of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park,attract more visitor volume,and create the most attractive theme park in Nanning is the question of the future sustainable survival and development of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park.This paper combines theory and practice,referring to a large amount of relevant information and literature from home and abroad,and summarizing the existing experiences and achievements.Therefore,visitors who have visited the ASEAN Legends Theme Park at Fantawild Joy World in Nanning were selected as the respondents.Firstly,this paper synthesises relevant theories such as service quality theory and(6W1H)customer behaviour.A set of questionnaires was designed for the visitors of Nanning Fantawild.The study analyzes the factors affecting the service quality of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park as well as the factor analysis of customer behaviour.Based on the empirical research and analysis of the results,methods and suggestions for improving the service quality of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park are proposed.This paper uses SPSS statistical software to analyze the results by means of reliability and validity analysis,descriptive statistics analysis,and analysis of variance.The results were concluded that the customers’overall satisfaction with the service quality of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park is shown in the question phase of each level dimension,with the reliability dimension showing the lowest level of satisfaction.It is of great practical significance to improve the competitiveness of Nanning Fantawild ASEAN Legend Theme Park in China.Finally,there were no significant mean differences in the relationship between different gender,age,education,status,income,and service quality dimensions.展开更多

The cultural elements are the core of theme parks,which gradually interact with people as unique cultural space landscapes.The expression of culture is pivotal in determining the quality of a theme park and significan...The cultural elements are the core of theme parks,which gradually interact with people as unique cultural space landscapes.The expression of culture is pivotal in determining the quality of a theme park and significantly affects the tourist experience.From the perspective of the production of culture on display,this paper explores the cultural practices of theme parks and tourists’appeal through field research,content analysis,and grounded theory.The research findings indicate that theme parks are characterized by authenticity,interaction,participation,and readability.They rely on scene restoration,story narration,service facilities,cultural characteristics and tourist interaction to facilitate cultural engagement.Content analysis shows that tourists prioritize amusement attractions,performances,and the overall tourism experience.When theme parks serve as venues for leisure and entertainment,tourist appeal reflect in five aspects:Theme park products,tourism services,storytelling,social interaction,and immersive experiences.Meanwhile,these appeals drive the cultural reproduction within theme parks.This study expands the application scope of cultural engagement in theme parks,elucidates the evolving demands of visitors,and provides insights for theme parks to enhance their storytelling capabilities and improve tourist experiences.展开更多

文摘With the acceleration of urban construction,theme park has been playing a significant role in improving urban ecological environment,leisure and entertainment of the public,scientific popularization and education,demonstration of special functions.With the planned Waterage Park in Yangling Demonstration Zone,Shaanxi Province as an example,agricultural theme parks were discussed from 3 aspects of planning concept,scenic spots layout,and folk cultural design,then the landscapes,characteristic scenic spots,ecological agriculture,folk culture and new high-tech agricultural fruits within those theme parks were comprehensively analyzed,the planning and design of such parks were further studied,which are all of instructive significance for the theoretical studies and construction of agricultural theme parks.
文摘Construction of theme park has been launched since the early 1990s in Chengdu City,but ended up as a losing proposition after its short-term prosperity because of similar scale and similarity with those in other cities.As more international well-known theme parks entering the market,theme parks in Chengdu have been faced with the transition,and novel concepts are also introduced into the operation of these parks.To adapt to the market,it is imperative to make marketing strategies and combine marketing elements.Through analyzing current development of local theme parks and introducing successful marketing modes of domestic and overseas theme parks,a favorable marketing mode for theme parks in Chengdu was defined on the basis of fully exploring Ba-Shu culture(Ba and Shu are two ancient kingdoms in the history of Sichuan).By defining a favorable theme,focusing more on visitors'experience,devoting more in developing new products,adopting flexible price strategies,and integrating advertisement marketing,internet marketing,and other marketing methods,outstanding brands will be formed,and tourism cultures with distinguished features of Chengdu will be created.

文摘The objective of this research was to analyse the impact of airports in Disney and Universal Studios theme parks in California and Florida states from 2008 to 2022.We adopted a methodology based on four data steps(airport’s location and category,number of visitors at theme parks,and relevant information from public and private organisations),which helped us to illustrate the interaction between airports,urban cities,theme parks,and tourists,emphasising the relevance of air transport for cities and their tourist attractions.Moreover,this study shows how airports have a positive impact on the number of passengers’arrivals at destinations and theme parks provided by airlines’air connectivity and accessibility.In addition,the rise in the number of international and domestic tourists by air can help improve the numbers of visitors at parks and tourists at destinations in tourism accommodations like Disney and Universal Studios resorts and hotels around the parks.In the immediate future,joint strategic alliances by parks,airports,and destination marketing organisations(DMOs)must lay out attractive and economic tourist packages to attract more visitors,passengers,and tourists.The COVID-19 pandemic has been a disruptive factor with a direct negative impact on aviation,tourism,and leisure sectors that has changed the future of theme parks and their approach to handling business and marketing activities.

文摘The cultural elements are the core of theme parks,which gradually interact with people as unique cultural space landscapes.The expression of culture is pivotal in determining the quality of a theme park and significantly affects the tourist experience.From the perspective of the production of culture on display,this paper explores the cultural practices of theme parks and tourists’appeal through field research,content analysis,and grounded theory.The research findings indicate that theme parks are characterized by authenticity,interaction,participation,and readability.They rely on scene restoration,story narration,service facilities,cultural characteristics and tourist interaction to facilitate cultural engagement.Content analysis shows that tourists prioritize amusement attractions,performances,and the overall tourism experience.When theme parks serve as venues for leisure and entertainment,tourist appeal reflect in five aspects:Theme park products,tourism services,storytelling,social interaction,and immersive experiences.Meanwhile,these appeals drive the cultural reproduction within theme parks.This study expands the application scope of cultural engagement in theme parks,elucidates the evolving demands of visitors,and provides insights for theme parks to enhance their storytelling capabilities and improve tourist experiences.

文摘In this study,a model based on multiple regression analysis is developed to forecast the tourism traffic volume of theme parks.First,the macro,meso and micro factors affecting traffic passenger volume are analysed.Second,SPSS software is used for multivariate regression analysis on data for 10 theme parks from 2014.A tourism traffic volume forecasting model is then proposed.Finally,related data for 2015 is used to validate the model,with results showing a prediction error of 14.1%.All results show that the model has a high predictive ability.
