A weak recrystallization texture was observed in the AA 3003 alloy annealed at 783 K due to the high annealing temperature. Under the same conditions, extremely high P {011 } ( 111 ) recrystallization textures were detected in the AA 3003 alloy added with 0. 39% Sc. Based on the EBSD results, no intensely preferential orientation nucleation of recrystallization grains was observed in the early stage of recrystallizafion for both alloys. However, concurrent precipitation strongly retarded the growth of recrystallization grains, except for P nucleation sites, thereby conferring an apparent initial growth advantage for P nucleation sites compared with other nucleation sites. Therefore, a sharp P {011 } 〈 111 〉 texture appeared in concurrently precipitated AA 3003 alloys.展开更多

Fractal geometry was introduced in the present work to accurately simulate transect contour curves of pervious concrete specimens through fractal interpolation. It is proved that its fractal dimension (D) can be adopted to measure the skid resistance on pervious concrete pavement, overcoming the shortcomings of both macrotexture depth (DT ) and British portable pendulum number (NBP). Combined with Fujikawa-Koike tire/road contact model, the optimization method of all surface textures was recommended for designing and constructing excellently skid-resistant and noise-absorptive pervious concrete pavement. The initiation of shear banding was the dominant mechanism for the above-mentioned texture transition.展开更多

The σ-ε curves, microstructures and, particularly, textures are analyzed to reveal different deformation mechanisms and to compare with those of coarse grained samples. Dominant double-prismatic slip, {1012} twinning and basal slip are detected in three types of samples, respectively, which is similar to those of coarse grained samples. The detrimental effect of shear band formation or {1011} twinning is limited in fine grained microstructure. In addition to the higher flow stress at low temperature an early decrease in flow stress at higher temperature is also found in fine-grained samples in comparison with their coarse-grained counterparts. This softening is ascribed to the early dynamic recrystallization or grain boundary glide.展开更多

Due to the introduction of large amounts of ex situ interfaces, however, the textures in powder metallurgy (PM) processed aluminum has been rarely reported. In this article, a pure aluminum plate was prepared via PM route. The starting billet was first produced with uni-axially cold compaction and flat hot-extrusion and then followed by cold rolling processes. The hot-extruded and cold rolling deformation textures of the pure PM aluminum at 50%, 80% and 90% cold rolling reductions were studied by orientation distribution functions (ODFs) analysis. The finite element polycrystal model (FEPM) was finally utilized to simulate the cold rolling textural evolution at various stages of cold rolling. In FEPM simulation, the initial hot-extruded textures were taken into account as inputs. The results showed that typical β-fiber texture formed in pure PM aluminum with the cold rolling reduction increased till 80%, and there was not much change after excessive cold rolling deformation. Homogeneous slip is not the only deformation mode in PM processed pure aluminum plate at over 80% cold rolling reduction. The experimental results were qualitatively in good agreement with the simulated ones.展开更多

The microstructure was examined by optical/scanning electron microscopy. The texture was characterized by X-ray diffraction and electron backscatter diffraction. The corrosion performance was evaluated by immersion tests, electrochemical measurements, and corrosion morphology observation. The results showed that there were obvious differences in the corrosion morphology and corrosion resistance on different surfaces. The surface perpendicular to extrusion direction had better corrosion resistance and more uniform corrosion damage than that perpendicular to the normal direction and that perpendicular to the transverse direction in 3.5 wt% NaCl solution. The corrosion morphology was mainly determined by the distribution of the second phase and fine-grained regions. The corrosion rate was more related to the overall texture.展开更多

By changing the assignment of orientations to finite elements, i.e. assigning the same set of orientations to all elements or different orientations to different elements, the influences of grain interaction on the formation of rolling textures were numerically simulated with this kind of crystal plasticity finite element model. The simulation results reveal that the grains without considering grain interaction rotate faster than those considering grain interaction, and the rotation of grain boundary is slowed down due to the grain interaction. For a good simulation more elements should be assigned to one grain, in which the effects of both the boundary and interior parts of grain contribute to the formation of rolling textures.展开更多

The initiation of shear banding was the dominant mechanism for the above-mentioned texture transition.

文摘Channel die compression and initial textures are used to activate different deformation mechanisms in a fine-grained magnesium alloy AZ31. This softening is ascribed to the early dynamic recrystallization or grain boundary glide.

文摘Electric-field control of topological magnetic states in thinfilm heterostructures is promising for applications in nextgeneration memory or logic devices with ultrahigh density and low-power consumption.Multiferroic materials, where spin and polar degrees of freedom coexist, provide a versatile playground to manipulate magnetism(converse magnetoelectric effect). Here,we report that the topological spin textures can be controlled by electric field in rhombohedral BiFeO_(3)/monoclinic La_(0.67)Sr_(0.33)MnO_(3)thin-film heterostructure at room temperature.
文摘Ingot metallurgy (IM) aluminum has long been the subject and attracted the attention of many metallurgists and textural researchers of materials. The experimental results were qualitatively in good agreement with the simulated ones.
文摘Textures of high-strength and low-expansion Fe-Ni alloy wires during cold-drawing processes were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and electron back scatter diffraction (EBSD) techniques. The experimental results show that the 〈111〉 and 〈100〉 fibre textures are the main texture components, and crystalline grains in the surface are more fine and uniform than those in the center of Fe-Ni alloy wires during cold-drawing processes. It is found that the volume fraction of the 〈111〉 fibre texture component determined by quantitative regression calculation of the Gaussian distribution function reaches more than 60% and the strong 〈111〉 fibre texture component favors the torsional property of Fe-Ni alloy wires.

文摘The effect of textures on different surfaces of an as-extruded Mg-4 Al-1 Sn-1 Zn(ATZ411) alloy sheet on its corrosion behavior was systematically investigated. The corrosion rate was more related to the overall texture.

文摘A rate dependent crystal plasticity constitutive model considering self and latent hardening in finite element analysis was developed to simulate rolling textures of pure aluminum. For a good simulation more elements should be assigned to one grain, in which the effects of both the boundary and interior parts of grain contribute to the formation of rolling textures.

文摘Considerable studies on processed pure titanium and titanium alloys have proved the possibility of prop-erty anisotropy induced by crystallographic textures, but limited information is available for the intrinsic coupling of matrix and reinforcement textures and their synergistic effect on property anisotropy in tita-nium matrix composite(TMCs).In the present work,an advanced EBSD/EDS coupling method was used to investigate the formation mechanism of primaryαand secondaryαtextures in the matrix alloy. It is revealed for the first time that the reinforcement TiB_(w)displays a{100}<010>texture after hot rolling and has little effect on the matrix texture component but weakens texture intensity.Significant anisotropies in the tensile strength and ductility can be all noted at room and high-temperatures,which is the syn-ergistic effect of the matrix texture and the aligned TiB_(w).The mean Schmid factor of each slip system was calculated to evaluate the influence of matrix texture on the minimum active stress of slip deforma-tion in the different tensile directions. The analysis shows that the strong T-type matrix texture results in higher strength but lower ductility when loaded in the transverse direction. Moreover,a generalized shear-lag model was modified to quantitatively evaluate the strengthening contribution of aligned TiB_(w),which decreases with increasing off-axis angle and test temperature.A new parameter, defined as the critical aspect ratio of the off-axis whisker, was proposed to rationalize why the TiB_(w) failure mechanism converts from TiB_(w) fracture to TiB_(w)/matrix interfacial debonding with increasing off-axis angle and test temperature.

文摘The microstructure characteristics of TiNi alloy were investigated to elucidate the active deformation mechanisms during hot rolling and the corresponding tribology performance. The deformation was mainly dominated by a combination of mechanical twinning involving the {114}_(B2) and {112}_(B2) twins, dislocations, and stacking faults during the manufacturing process. Moreover, various heat treatments were performed to differentiate the discrepancies in tribological behaviors of hot-rolled and heattreated alloys.Hot-rolled microstructures with high defect density approximate to nanoscale precipitates through aging as the wear resistance of the alloy improves, albeit it is softer compared to the aged one.As demonstrated by the X-ray diffraction(XRD) results of the wear tracks, microstructures undergo the stress-induced martensitic(SIM) transformation during dry sliding. From differential scanning calorimetry(DSC) analysis, the martensitic transformation temperature is lowered by defects in the austenite phase. The activation of the SIM transformation can be a sluggish process owing to the effect of twinning, where both primary and secondary twins are involved.Furthermore,a reversible transformation that is related to pseudoelasticity causes a decrease in wear volume at room temperature, which is higher than the austenite finish temperature.Meanwhile, abrasive wear advances toward adhesion.Additionally, the hot-rolled sheet with y fiber-{111}//ND(normal direction) exhibits better wear resistance compared to the sheet with α fiber-{100}//ND.
