In detail, a static model of the wire-driven parallel suspension is analyzed, a mathematical model for describ- ing the aerodynamic loads exerted on the scale model is constructed and a calculation method for obtaining the aerodynamic parameters of the model by measuring the tension of wires is presented. Moreover, the measurement system for wire tension and its corresponding data acquisition system are designed and built. Thereafter, the wire-driven parallel suspension system is placed in an open return circuit low-speed wind tunnel for wind tunnel tests to acquire data of each wire tension when the airplane model is at different attitudes and different wind speeds. A group of curves about the parameters for aerodynamic load exerted on the airplane model are obtained at different wind speeds after the acquired data are analyzed. The research results validate the feasibility of using a wire-driven parallel manipulator as the suspension system for low-speed wind ttmnel tests.展开更多
Piled embankments,which offer many advantages,are increasingly popular in construction of high-speed railways in China.Although the performance of piled embankment under static loading is well-known,the behavior under...Piled embankments,which offer many advantages,are increasingly popular in construction of high-speed railways in China.Although the performance of piled embankment under static loading is well-known,the behavior under the dynamic train load of a high-speed railway is not yet understood.In light of this,a heavily instrumented piled embankment model was set up,and a model test was carried out,in which a servo-hydraulic actuator outputting M-shaped waves was adopted to simulate the process of a running train.Earth pressure,settlement,strain in the geogrid and pile and excess pore water pressure were measured.The results show that the soil arching height under the dynamic train load of a high-speed railway is shorter than under static loading.The growth trend for accumulated settlement slowed down after long-term vibration although there was still a tendency for it to increase.Accumulated geogrid strain has an increasing tendency after long-term vibration.The closer the embankment edge,the greater the geogrid strain over the subsoil.Strains in the pile were smaller under dynamic train loads,and their distribution was different from that under static loading.At the same elevation,excess pore water pressure under the track slab was greater than that under the embankment shoulder.展开更多

However, the random of the measured data is not considered. ...The current method of estimating the fatigue life of railway structures is to calculating the equivalent stress amplitude based on the measured stress data. However, the random of the measured data is not considered. In this paper, a new method was established to compute the equivalent stress amplitude to evaluate the fatigue damage based on the measurable randomness, since the equivalent stress is the key parameter for assessment of structure fatigue life and load derivation. The equivalent stress amplitude of a high-speed train welded bogie frame was found to obey normal distribution under uniform operation route that verified by on-track dynamic stress data, and the proposed model is, in effect, an improved version of the mathematical model used to calculate the equivalent stress amplitude. The data of a long-term, on-track dynamic stress test program was analyzed to find that the normal distribution parameters of equivalent stress amplitude values differ across different operation route. Thus, the fatigue damage of the high-speed train welded bogie frame can be evaluated by the proposed method if the running schedule of the train is known a priori. The results also showed that the equivalent stress amplitude of the region connected to the power system is more random than in other regions of the bogie frame.展开更多

The vibration curve shows that high speed photograph combined with SURF algorithm is faster, more ac- curate, and more suitable for the vibration test of micro machined gyroscope. The xenon pumping speed testing system of the large-diameter external cryopump was designed to meet the plume test requirements for prototype electric propulsion.The flowmeter method was utilized to measure the xenon ...The xenon pumping speed testing system of the large-diameter external cryopump was designed to meet the plume test requirements for prototype electric propulsion.The flowmeter method was utilized to measure the xenon pumping speed.The test results show that the averaged effective pumping speed of doublecryopumps is 52 200L/s,and that of single-cryopump is 27 100L/s.The pumping speed ratio of two configurations is 1.93.It can be concluded that the pumping speed has in linear relationship with the number of cryopump,and the coefficient is irrelevant with the gas type.The averaged effective pumping speed of xenon is less than its nominal pumping speed,and the averaged pumping efficiency is 0.83.Under the identical inflow conditions,the averaged effective pumping speed ratio of nitrogen is 0.53,slightly less than the theoretical pumping speed ratio of 0.55.Consequently,it can be concluded that results assessment of large-diameter external cryopump design index can guide the engineering application,showing certain reference significance.展开更多

A new high speed mono-wave-piercing boat is developed in this study and model tests have been finished in order to reveal more sailing characters of mono-wave-piercing boats. Special attention is paid to the sailing characters of mono-wave-piercing boats at speed. Model tests include resistance tests in calm water and seakeeping performance tests in regular waves. Available model test results give an insight in the way how the mono-wave-piercing boat runs in calm water and regular waves at speed and are valuable reference for similar and derived design.展开更多

The determination approach of half-cycle is discussed and the method of rotation speed test is studied, and a test is conducted in the paper. In the tests, the ice sheet before the compliant conical structure was found to fail in two-time breaking. From 2005 to 2006, this type of ice failure was studied through more groups of tests. The tests show that two-time breaking is the typical failure of ice before steep conical structures, and is controlled by other factors at the same time, such as ice speed and the angle of the cone.展开更多
