Explicit Algebraic Stress Model for Three-Dimensional Turbulent Buoyant Flows Derived Using Tensor Representation

An explicit algebraic stress model (EASM) has been formulated for two-dimensional turbulent buoyant flows using a five-term tensor representation in a prior study. The derivation was based on partitioning the buoyant flux tensor into a two-dimensional and a three-dimensional component. The five-term basis was formed with the two-dimensional component of the buoyant flux tensor. As such, the derived EASM is limited to two-dimensional flows only. In this paper, a more general approach using a seven-term representation without partitioning the buoyant flux tensor is used to derive an EASM valid for two- and three-dimensional turbulent buoyant flows. Consequently, the basis tensors are formed with the fully three-dimensional buoyant flux tensor. The derived EASM has the two-dimensional flow as a special case. The matrices and the representation coefficients are further simplified using a four-term representation. When this four-term representation model is applied to calculate two-dimensional homogeneous buoyant flows, the results are essentially identical with those obtained previously using the two-dimensional component of the buoyant flux tensor. Therefore, the present approach leads to a more general EASM formulation that is equally valid for two- and three-dimensional turbulent buoyant flows. 展开更多

大型水利水电工程多依附于高陡裂隙岩体边坡而建,而边坡的渗控结构成为研究重点。为进一步研究裂隙岩体渗透特性及其各向异性的影响因素,基于C语言程序,考虑不同迹长、密度的概率分布,通过蒙特卡罗方法生成随机裂隙,然后将随机裂隙导入... 大型水利水电工程多依附于高陡裂隙岩体边坡而建,而边坡的渗控结构成为研究重点。为进一步研究裂隙岩体渗透特性及其各向异性的影响因素,基于C语言程序,考虑不同迹长、密度的概率分布,通过蒙特卡罗方法生成随机裂隙,然后将随机裂隙导入有限元渗流计算软件RFPA^2D-Flow,形成渗流裂隙网络模型。通过对不同的方位、不同尺寸上的等效渗透系数的模拟计算,得到不同工况下的渗透张量,结合类张量特性和类常量特性判定依据,确定渗流表征单元体,并自定义渗透特性各向异性系数,研究裂隙的密度、迹长对岩体渗透张量、表征单元体尺寸和各向异性系数的影响。结果表明:①裂隙密度和裂隙迹长对裂隙岩体的渗透主值影响较大,但对渗透主方向几乎无影响,随密度或者迹长的增大,裂隙岩体的渗透主值逐渐增大;②在一定范围内,随着裂隙密度或迹长的增大,裂隙岩体的渗透表征单元体尺寸逐渐减小;③裂隙岩体渗透特性的各向异性系数r随密度增大逐渐减小,随裂隙迹长增大呈现先减小后增大的趋势。在此基础上,以锦屏一级水电站坝区左岸边坡裂隙岩体为例,根据地质勘探所获的裂隙概率分布特征及相关参数,利用本文研究方法进行渗流数值模拟计算,确定锦屏左岸裂隙岩体的渗透张量和表征单元体尺寸,并结合现场压水试验结果对本文数值模拟结果进行修正,修正系数在一个数量级之内,说明本文模拟计算结果与实测结果相近。 展开更多

The effect of pre-shear flow on the subsequent crystallization process of polymeric melt was investigated and a flow-induced crystallization (FIC) model based on the conformation tensor incorporating the pre-shear effect was proposed. The model is capable of predicting the overshoot phenomena of the stress and the flow-induced free energy change of the polymeric system at high pre-shear rates. Under the condition of flow, the increase in the activated nuclei number was contributed by the flow-induced free energy change, which showed an overwhelming effect on the nuclei formation during the pre-shear process at high shear rates. The half crystallization time (t1/2) of polypropylene (PP) as functions of pre-shear rate and pre-shear time at different crystallization temperatures was predicted and compared with the experiment data. Both numerical and experimental results showed that t1/2 of PP decreased dramatically when the flow started but leveled off at long times. It was found that two transformation stages in t1/2 existed within a wide range of shear rates. For the first stage where the melting polymer experienced a relatively weak shear flow, the acceleration of crystallization kinetics was mainly contributed by the steady value of free energy change while in the second stage for high shear rates, strong overshoot in flow-induced free energy change occurred and the crystallization kinetics was thus significantly enhanced. The overshoots in stress and flow-induced free energy change reflected an important role of flow on the primary nucleation especially when the flow was strong enough. 展开更多

Direct numerical simulation of decaying homogeneous isotropic turbulence (DHIT) of a polymer solution is performed. In order to understand the polymer effect on turbulence or additive-turbulence interaction, we directly investigate the influence of polymers on velocity gradient tensor including vorticity and strain. By visualizing vortex tubes and sheets, we observe a remarkable inhibition of vortex structures in an intermediate-scale field and a small-scale field but not for a large scale field in DHIT with polymers. The geometric study indicates a strong relevance among the vorticity vector, rate-of-strain tensor, and polymer conformation tensor. Joint probability density functions show that the polymer effect can increase "strain generation resistance" and "vorticity generation resistance", i.e., inhibit the generation of vortex sheets and tubes, ultimately leading to turbulence inhibition effects. 展开更多

A transonic turbulent separation flow in a converging-diverging transonic diffuser was studied,when there existed a separation bubble on the top wall of the diffuser triggered by strong shock-wave-boundary-layer-interaction(SWBLI).To capture the essential behavior of this complex flow,the current study utilized an anisotropic turbulence model developed on the basis of a statistical partial average scheme.The first order moment of turbulent fluctuations,retained by a novel average scheme,and the turbulent length scale,can be determined from the momentum equations and mechanical energy equation of the fluctuation flow,respectively.The two physical quantities were readily used to construct the nonlinear anisotropic eddy viscosity tensor and to significantly improve the computational results.Comparisons between the computational results and experimental data were carried out for velocity profiles,pressure distribution,skin friction coefficient,Reynolds stress as well as streamline vectors distribution.Without using any empirical coefficients and wall functions,the numerical results were in good agreement with the available experimental data,further confirming that the nonlinear anisotropic eddy viscosity tensor is the decisive factor for the success of the computational results. 展开更多

TUSE can be used to study steady and unsteady transonic flow fields when combined with Taylor-Galerkin Finite Element Methods, the NND scheme in FDM, and four-stage Runge-Kutta methods. As numerical examples the transonic flow in cascades and one kind of complex unsteady transonic axisymmetric how in engineering are studied. The continuum approach in fluid flow modeling is generally applied to porous geological media, but has limited applicability to fractured rocks. With the presence of a discrete fracture network relatively sparsely distributed in the matrix, it may be difficult or erroneous to use a porous medium fluid flow model with continuum assumptions to describe the fluid flow in fractured rocks at small or even large field scales. A discrete fracture fluid flow approach incorporating a stochastic fracture network with numerical fluid flow simulations could have the capability of capturing fluid flow behaviors such as inhomogeneity and anisotropy while reflecting the changes of hydraulic features at different scales. Moreover, this approach can be implemented to estimate the size of the representative elementary volume (REV) in order to find out the scales at which a porous medium flow model could be applied, and then to determine the hydraulic conductivity tensor for fractured rocks. The following topics are focused on in this study: (a) conceptual discrete fracture fluid flow modeling incorporating a stochastic fracture network with numerical flow simulations; (b) estimation of REV and hydraulic conductivity tensor for fractured rocks utilizing a stochastic fracture network with numerical fluid flow simulations; (c) investigation of the effect of fracture orientation and density on the hydraulic conductivity and REV by implementing a stochastic fracture network with numerical fluid flow simulations, and (d) fluid flow conceptual models accounting for major and minor fractures in the 2 D or 3 D flow fields incorporating a stochastic fracture network with numerical fluid flow simulations. 展开更多

高原阿尔茨海默病患者脑白质微结构与脑血流改变的多模态MR研究

目的:旨在探讨高原阿尔茨海默病患者脑白质微结构与脑血流改变的多模态MR变化。方法:前瞻性纳入青海省人民医院18例久居高原AD患者和20名健康受试者,使用3.0T MRI扫描仪采集DTI序列、T1序列和ASL序列,利用DPABI Pro后处理软件获取基于... 目的:旨在探讨高原阿尔茨海默病患者脑白质微结构与脑血流改变的多模态MR变化。方法:前瞻性纳入青海省人民医院18例久居高原AD患者和20名健康受试者,使用3.0T MRI扫描仪采集DTI序列、T1序列和ASL序列,利用DPABI Pro后处理软件获取基于纤维束示踪技术的纤维束空间统计(TBSS)图像和感兴趣区(ROI)图像,并结合脑血流量(CBF)及认知量表综合分析高原AD患者脑白质微结构变化的特征。结果:1.TBSS结果显示高原AD患者在白质纤维束损伤区域基本与平原AD患者一致。ROI结果与NC组比较,发现AD组的轴向扩散率(AD)、平均扩散率(MD)及径向扩散率(RD)在多个脑区均显著升高(P<0.05)。2.高原AD患者在颞叶、放射冠、顶叶、楔前叶、扣带回、前额叶及丘脑等区域的CBF降低与DTI异常并存;3.高原AD患者扣带回的AD值、MD值与ADL评分呈正相关;丘脑的AD值、MD值与MMSE评分呈显著负相关;海马的RD值与MMSE评分呈负相关。结论:高原AD患者全脑白质及纤维束普遍显著损伤,且表现出以视觉区、丘脑和运动区广泛受累的区域特异性,另高原AD患者CBF降低与DTI指数异常区域存在较多重叠,反映了脑神经血管偶联(NVC)损伤导致的“血流-微结构”协同破坏机制可能加剧高原AD病理进程,并与整体认知功能和日常生活能力密切相关。 展开更多

以颗粒流理论和PFC程序为平台,根据矩张量理论建立细观尺度上岩石声发射模拟方法。该方法可同时给出声发射事件发生的时间、空间、破裂强度等特征,再现岩石裂纹孕育、发展和贯通过程,从而揭示岩石的破坏机制。结合室内花岗岩破裂全过程... 以颗粒流理论和PFC程序为平台,根据矩张量理论建立细观尺度上岩石声发射模拟方法。该方法可同时给出声发射事件发生的时间、空间、破裂强度等特征,再现岩石裂纹孕育、发展和贯通过程,从而揭示岩石的破坏机制。结合室内花岗岩破裂全过程声发射特性试验研究成果,通过试验和计算结果的对比分析,验证该方法的可靠性,并得到以下结论:(1)在试样峰值强度前,声发射事件次数较少、破裂强度较低,且在试样内部随机分布;从试样峰值强度起至破坏时的残余强度,声发射事件次数较多、破裂强度较高,且主要沿宏观破裂带附近分布。(2)声发射事件次数随破裂强度变化近似呈正态分布。在均值与最大破裂强度之间,声发射事件累积数随破裂强度的降低近似呈线性对数函数关系。(3)每次声发射事件所包含的微破裂数,随破裂强度的提高而增加,近似呈波尔兹曼函数关系。(4)声发射事件次数与微破裂数近似呈负指数函数关系,即包含微破裂数越少的声发射事件,其所占总数的比例越大。研究成果可弥补现有声发射试验及模拟方法的不足,并作为一种新的手段为声发射试验与现场微震监测研究所利用。 展开更多

针对轴承滚子表面缺陷人工检测效率低、误检率高的问题,以及现有机器视觉检测方法存在的不足。基于上述情况,提出了一种基于图像光流的轴承滚子表面缺陷的检测方法。首先设计了一套图像采集装置,用于获取轴承滚子表面图像;其次采用全局... 针对轴承滚子表面缺陷人工检测效率低、误检率高的问题,以及现有机器视觉检测方法存在的不足。基于上述情况,提出了一种基于图像光流的轴承滚子表面缺陷的检测方法。首先设计了一套图像采集装置,用于获取轴承滚子表面图像;其次采用全局和局部相结合的平滑策略,建立光流误差估计模型,同时为了增强缺陷位置的光流边界,在此模型中引入各项异性的扩散张量;在光流求解策略上,先对原始图像进行奇异值分解,消除灰度值异常对光流计算的影响,再引入金字塔分层细化方法,提高光流计算的准确性;最后根据光流生成的伪彩色图像,完成对缺陷区域的粗略定位,分割出缺陷区域。实验表明,所提方法在轴承滚子表面缺陷检测方面的可行性和有效性。 展开更多
