This study investigates how to pedagogically integrate ideological education with competency development in the Intercultural Communication course,a challenge arising from China’s dual reform contexts of the New Liberal Arts initiative and the national curriculum ideology policy.As global interactions intensify,cultivating foreign language professionals who possess both firm cultural confidence and sophisticated intercultural competence have become a critical educational imperative.This exploratory study investigates how a three-dimensional“Value-Knowledge-Competency”framework can guide the redesign of course content,task design,and assessment to achieve organic fusion.Drawing on qualitative data from a case study,it analyzes specific implementation pathways,synthesizes teacher and student feedback,and discusses the resultant challenges and broader implications for foreign language curriculum reform.The findings suggest that such an integrated approach can effectively synergize value guidance with skill cultivation,though its success hinges on overcoming issues related to pedagogical naturalness,resource allocation,and standardized evaluation. 展开更多

This study examined the influence of motherhood identity on the teaching practices of English teachers by employing work-family enrichment and identity fusion theories.It explores the relationship between motherhood identity and teaching practices,examining the mediating role of work-life enrichment and the moderating efect of community involvement.A survey of 354 English teachers from China,conducted using purposive sampling,was analyzed using Partial Least Squares(PLS)structural equation modeling.Findings reveal how the motherhood identity of English teachers influences their teaching practices:as teachers actively integrate their motherhood experiences into their professional development,the harmonization of work and childcare enhances their teaching performance.Additionally,voluntary community involvement moderates perceptions of motherhood experiences,aiding in overcoming challenges in childcare and teaching.Consequently,with work life enrichment mediating and community involvement moderating,teachers effctively leverage their motherhood experiences to enhance their English teaching practices.This study contributes to the understanding of the nuanced relationship between motherhood identity and teaching practices,highlighting the growing importance of community involvement in the professional development of female English teachers.The limitation of purposive sampling shows that the gencralizability of our findings to other contexts should be considered with caution. 展开更多

To meet the need for cultivating application-oriented talents in local universities,this study introduced a project-based learning approach into the reform of bioinformatics experimental teaching.The course was structured around a project titled"Influenza Virus Analysis",comprising four progressive modules:database utilization and information retrieval,sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis,functional and structural prediction,and omics data analysis.These modules were integrated into a coherent research workflow that connected fragmented knowledge and technical skills.During implementation,flipped classroom and group collaboration methods were employed,alongside the establishment of a diversified assessment system emphasizing process evaluation.Teaching practice indicates that the reform effectively enhances students professional application skills,learning experience,and scientific literacy,facilitating a shift from"tool operation"to"problem-solving"capabilities.This study provides a reference model for the reform of bioinformatics experimental teaching in local universities. 展开更多

Most of the time,students who apply to language-learning courses do not succeed because of a variety of factors including ineffective teaching,a lack of motivation,a lack of practice sessions,and subpar training modules so,the teachers'methods of instruction are more crucial to develop the English language of the students[1].This study investigates English language teacher’s practices,challenges faced by ELT teachers and strategies they apply in the English language classroom at the Department of English QUEST Nawabshah.The data collected from students at English department of QUEST Nawabshah.The researchers selected a qualitative method to collect data where a questionnaire was used,Questionnaire(openended)which includes ten questions.Based on the findings,the study highlighted that English teachers face many obstacles,but the most common are students who are disappointed in the rough attitude of some teachers,so other teachers motivate them to appreciate their efforts,provide opportunities,teachers answer the questions from students to interact with students.The study concluded that teachers need to be trained at the University level to maintain social justice in the classroom for the learners’effective learning outcomes. 展开更多

Relationship between Science Teaching Practices and Students’Achievement in Singapore,Chinese Taipei,and the US:An Analysis Using TIMSS 2011 Data 被引量:1

The assumption that inquiry-based instruction is more effective in influencing student science achievement than traditional didactic teaching has been the driving force of science education reform in recent decades and in many countries.However,the empirical relationship between these two kinds of science teaching and student science performance is not soundly established,which is worth a careful examination.Framed through the theoretical perspectives of inquiry-based instruction and culturally relevant pedagogy,using a two-level hierarchical linear modeling(HLM)approach and simultaneous multiple regression,this study examines the above relationship using the Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study(TIMSS)20118th grade dataset from Singapore,Chinese Taipei,and the US.The study found that for the low-performing students,none of the inquiry-based teaching practice items measured had a significant relationship with the science achievements at any performance levels of students in any country/region except for the case of two inquiry-based teaching practice items that were positively related to Chinese Taipei students’achievements.No didactic teaching practice items were associated with the Singapore students’science achievement,three of these practice items were found negatively related to Chinese Taipei students’science achievement,and one traditional didactic teaching practice was negatively related to the science achievement of U.S.students.However,for medium-and high-performing students,none of these inquiry-based or traditional didactic science-teaching practices were found to be positive predictors of science performance in all three countries/regions.However,in the case of Chinese Taipei,one didactic teaching practice item was negatively related with the medium level performing students’achievement and two didactic teaching practices were found to hinder high-performing students’science achievements. 展开更多

A Practical Study of Teaching Propositions in High School Mathematics Based on the TPACK Framework

Under the background of information technology in education,there is insufficient integration of technological knowledge,pedagogical knowledge,and subject content knowledge in the teaching of propositions in high school mathematics.Teachers mostly equate information technology with multimedia presentations,and students often memorize formulas mechanically,which leads to difficulties in the application of complex propositions.In this study,we take“the cosine formula of the difference between two angles”as an example.Based on the TPACK framework,we use contextual teaching and geometric drawing board demonstration to integrate subject content,pedagogical knowledge,and technological knowledge in teaching design and practice.It is found that by dynamically displaying the derivation process of the formula and guiding students to explore independently,it can help them understand the logic of the formula and improve their application ability.This study provides a paradigm for teaching propositions in high school mathematics and suggests that the TPACK framework can facilitate knowledge integration and cultivate students’mathematical literacy such as problem posing and creative inquiry,which is of great significance for teaching practice. 展开更多

Practical jurisprudence is a completely new proposition in legal education and research.The introduction of the concept of“practical jurisprudence”in the teaching of the Civil Procedure Law of the People’s Republic of China(the“Civil Procedure Law”)is a major innovation in terms of values and methodology.Practical jurisprudence focuses more on practical issues,Chinese characteristics,and major needs,while strengthening the practical nature of the Civil Procedure Law.China’s traditional education system for juris masters(for non-law graduates)(“non-law JMs”)emphasizes the development of foundational legal theoretical knowledge.However,it has not fully achieved its goal of cultivating interdisciplinary and practical legal professionals.Therefore,the traditional education system for the Civil Procedure Law needs reconstruction and supplementation through the practical jurisprudence teaching system in the following areas:(a)System composition:The focus should be on the eight tertiary subsystems under the two secondary subsystems—“the knowledge teaching system and the practical teaching system”of practical jurisprudence in the Civil Procedure Law,as well as the management of their interrelationships.(b)Credit structure:The proportion of credits for“practical teaching and training”should be increased.(c)Practical ability requirements:Legal professionals should be cultivated according to the standards for juris masters(for law graduates)as stipulated by the Law of the People’s Republic of China on Academic Degrees.(d)Practice evaluation:“Formalization of the evaluations,”“homogeneity of the evaluators,”and“reliance on written formats”should be avoided. 展开更多

In response to the common problems in college English writing teaching,such as the separation of learning and application,students’low interest in writing,and difficulties in expression,this paper,based on the theoretical framework of the production-oriented approach(POA)proposed by Professor Wen Qiufang,designed and implemented a set of IELTS writing teaching plan.This plan takes“motivating,enabling,and assessing”as the core teaching process,and selects typical IELTS argumentative essay topics(such as food diversity)to create real communication scenarios.In the motivating stage,diverse inputs are used to stimulate students’interest and expose their language weaknesses;in the enabling stage,language knowledge,viewpoint generation,and text structure are focused on for targeted input and training;in the assessing stage,a combination of teacher-student cooperation and peer evaluation is adopted to guide students to identify and correct deficiencies in language use.The research results show that the POA model can effectively enhance students’writing interest,active learning awareness,and writing ability,particularly in overcoming vocabulary poverty and material shortages,as well as improving language accuracy and expression richness.This provides an operational theoretical basis and practical path for improving the teaching effect of IELTS writing. 展开更多

With the rapid development of software engineering,traditional teaching methods are confronted with the challenges of short knowledge update cycles and the rapid emergence of new technologies.By analyzing the current situation of the mismatch between educational practices and industrial change,this study proposes an innovative teaching model—“Micro-practices”.This model integrates new knowledge and new technologies into the teaching process quickly and flexibly through practical teaching projects with“short class time,small capacity,and cloud environment”to meet the different educational needs of students,teachers,and enterprises.The aim is to train innovative software engineering talents who can meet the challenges of the future. 展开更多

This paper introduces the experience and practice in constructing the practical teaching system for the course“Electric Machine and Drive.”In response to the current status of cultivating innovative practical abilities among electrical engineering majors,based on the independently developed virtual simulation experimental teaching platform for Electric Machine and Drive,a stepped practical teaching process consisting of“classroom teaching-experimental teaching-comprehensive training-scientific inquiry”has been elaborately designed.A hierarchical practical teaching model for the second classroom has also been established.With teaching objectives as the optimization index,the teaching content,methods and means have been optimized;the teaching process has been organized and implemented in the form of team collaboration,thus constructing a comprehensive,stepped,hierarchical,and closed-loop innovative practical teaching system.This achievement provides references and assistance for the practical teaching of the same or similar majors in other colleges and universities. 展开更多
