The integration of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)into clinical education presents an opportunity to enhance medical training by providing students with a more holistic approach to patient care.This study explores t...The integration of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)into clinical education presents an opportunity to enhance medical training by providing students with a more holistic approach to patient care.This study explores the methods and challenges of integrating TCM theory into clinical internships for medical students at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.A mixed-methods approach was employed,combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with medical students,clinical instructors,and TCM practitioners.The results indicate that while students generally recognize the relevance and benefits of TCM in enhancing diagnostic skills and promoting a holistic understanding of health,several challenges remain.These include the lack of standardized TCM training,limited practical exposure to TCM diagnostic methods,and resistance from some clinical instructors.Despite these challenges,students expressed a strong desire for more structured TCM training and greater support from instructors.Based on the findings,the study recommends the standardization of TCM curricula,enhanced professional development for instructors,and increased collaboration between Western and TCM practitioners.The study concludes that the integration of TCM into medical education can significantly improve student clinical skills and patient care outcomes if appropriately structured and supported.展开更多

The study was carried out to identify content areas of climate change for integration into the senior secondary school agricultural science curriculum in countries such as Nigeria. Two research questions were develope...The study was carried out to identify content areas of climate change for integration into the senior secondary school agricultural science curriculum in countries such as Nigeria. Two research questions were developed and answered by the study while two null hypotheses were formulated and tested. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 441 while the sample was 249. A 34-item structured questionnaire was developed for data collection. The questionnaire items were face-validated by five experts while Cronbach alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the items. The copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents with the help of two research assistants. Weighted mean was used to answer the research questions while t-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance and 240 degrees of freedom. The findings of the study revealed that four clusters with 23 items were required for integration in the curriculum while 11 materials were identified to help teach the content areas. It was also found that there was no significant (p > 0.05) difference in the mean responses of Lecturers and extension agents on each item in the content areas of climate change and materials for teaching them. The study recommended among others that the clusters and 23 items with the materials identified by the study should be integrated into the agricultural science curriculum for teaching in secondary schools, especially in Nigeria.展开更多

With the loss of Soviet ideology that formed the basis of the curriculum and educational standards, transition and instability threatened to supplant one ideology for another, in the form of newly developed myths of nationalism on one end of the spectrum and fundamentalism or anti-globalism on the other. Thus, the task of educators working through this period of transition has been both arduous and complex. Humanities education of AKHP of UCA （Aga Khan Humanities Project of University of Central Asia） provides a key channel for training students and educators in independent critical thinking, tolerance of pluralism, and appreciation for the importance of diversity in Central Asian post-Soviet societies, playing a pivotal role in the promotion of these values. This paper argues that cultivating knowledge in the humanities can prevent development of extreme ideologies such as nationalism, fundamentalism and anti-globalization in the region following independence. The positive impacts of implementation of AKHP and its liberating role in the life of the Central Asian students show that development and adoption of an integrated interdisciplinary curriculum that incorporates cross-cultural and comparative studies can serve as a catalyst for reform of the broader education system and the region at large.展开更多

This paper introduces the condition of host defense and immunity both at home and abroad and its status and role in the integrated curriculum system in School of Medicine,and summarizes the contents,experience and improvement measures for the implementation of host defense and immunity.
文摘Objective To explore the application and the effect of the case based learning(CBL)method in clinical probation teaching of the integrated curriculum of hematology among eight-year-program medical students.Methods The CBL method was applied to the experimental group,and the traditional approach for the control group.After the lecture,a questionnaire survey was conducted to evaluate the teaching effect in the two groups.Results The CBL method efficiently increased the students’interest in learning and autonomous learning ability,enhanced their ability to solve clinical problems with basic theoretic knowledge and cultivated their clinical thinking ability.Conclusion The CBL method can improve the quality of clinical probation teaching of the integrated curriculum of hematology among eight-year-program medical students.
文摘Today, Central Asia continues to face many political, socio-economic and cultural changes brought about by the end of one ruling ideology, particularly in the field of education. With the loss of Soviet ideology that formed the basis of the curriculum and educational standards, transition and instability threatened to supplant one ideology for another, in the form of newly developed myths of nationalism on one end of the spectrum and fundamentalism or anti-globalism on the other. Thus, the task of educators working through this period of transition has been both arduous and complex. Humanities education of AKHP of UCA （Aga Khan Humanities Project of University of Central Asia） provides a key channel for training students and educators in independent critical thinking, tolerance of pluralism, and appreciation for the importance of diversity in Central Asian post-Soviet societies, playing a pivotal role in the promotion of these values. This paper argues that cultivating knowledge in the humanities can prevent development of extreme ideologies such as nationalism, fundamentalism and anti-globalization in the region following independence. The positive impacts of implementation of AKHP and its liberating role in the life of the Central Asian students show that development and adoption of an integrated interdisciplinary curriculum that incorporates cross-cultural and comparative studies can serve as a catalyst for reform of the broader education system and the region at large.

文摘In the new era of building a socialist modernization country with the goal of promoting high-quality development,we deeply analyze the knowledge system of the Introduction to Architecture course.This analysis is based on the cross-disciplinary specialties of local applied universities and the orientation of prioritizing employment and integrating industry and education.We propose the teaching reform of“theory-practice alternation”which is adapted to the current times and societal needs.Finally,we comprehensively summarize the effectiveness of curriculum construction,in order to provide theoretical references for the implementation of fostering character and civic virtue and deepening the reform of collaborative education mechanisms.
文摘Integrating theory and practice into teaching is an advanced pedagogy, particularly suitable for the cultivation of applied talents in higher vocational colleges. In this paper, the author first discusses the connotation of the teaching method as integration of theory and practice and illustrates the background and significance of employing this teaching method in the curriculum reform of hotel management in higher vocational colleges. After that, the teaching content, methods as well as evaluation system are elaborated for implementing the integration of theory and practice teaching, and finally, some countermeasures are put forward for improving this teaching method.
