The construction of new agricultural science has put forward the core requirements of"interdisciplinary integration,service industry demand,and cultivation of composite talents"for the smart agriculture major.The"integration of general and specialized education"is the key path to solve the problems of"prominent disciplinary barriers,fragmented knowledge structure,and weak practical ability"in the traditional curriculum system.In this paper,the College of Smart Agriculture from Yulin Normal University is taken as the research object.Based on the characteristics of regional agricultural industry and the positioning of professional education,the prominent problems in the current professional curriculum system of smart agriculture are analyzed,the construction concept of"strong foundation in general education,precise core in professional education,and breaking through boundaries in integrated education"is proposed,and a"three dimensions and four layers"integrated curriculum system framework for general and specialized education is constructed.Moreover,practical exploration is conducted from the aspects of curriculum module design,teaching mode innovation,and guarantee mechanism construction.Practice has shown that this curriculum system effectively enhances students'interdisciplinary application abilities and industry adaptability,and provides a practical sample for the reform of smart agriculture courses in local universities under the background of new agricultural science. 展开更多

Against the backdrop of digital-intelligence technologies profoundly reshaping the construction industry and industry-education integration becoming a core direction for vocational education reform,the traditional curriculum system of the engineering cost major in higher vocational colleges faces the dual dilemma of“technical disconnection from the industry and teaching detachment from practice.”This paper takes the engineering cost major at Chongqing Energy Vocational College as the research subject,systematically analyzing the background and significance of curriculum system construction from the“dual-collaboration”perspective of industry-education integration and digital-intelligence integration.It clarifies four construction principles:“symbiotic integration of digital-intelligence and major,precise alignment with enterprise needs,integration of courses,positions,competitions,and certificates,and dynamic optimization.”Subsequently,it proposes three construction paths:a modular curriculum framework design of“digital-intelligence foundation-professional core-practical innovation-ideological and political integration,”collaborative development of curriculum resources by schools and enterprises,and an integrated assessment and evaluation system of“courses,positions,competitions,and certificates.”The study aims to provide practical references for cultivating compound technical and skilled talents in the engineering cost major of higher vocational colleges to meet the demands of the digital-intelligence era,thereby facilitating the digital transformation and upgrading of the construction industry. 展开更多

Higher education increasingly emphasizes the unique role of aesthetic education in cultivating virtue and morality.From the perspective of integrating aesthetic education with teaching,this study develops an analytical framework to explore the theoretical foundations,practical pathways,and teaching mechanisms involved in interdisciplinary aesthetic education course construction at Sichuan University.Employing literature analysis and case studies,the paper systematically examines the theoretical basis of aesthetic education and its contemporary demands in higher education.Specifically,it focuses on Sichuan University’s initiatives in aesthetic education curriculum reform,covering practices such as curriculum design,faculty team development,resource coordination,and collaboration between internal and external institutions.Findings suggest that interdisciplinary aesthetic education courses enrich the content of aesthetic education in universities and enhance students’overall competence;however,these courses also face challenges like insufficient faculty and inadequate evaluation mechanisms during implementation.Consequently,this paper proposes strengthening top-level design,refining the curriculum system,enhancing faculty training,and improving evaluation mechanisms as recommendations for future improvement.This research aims to provide valuable references for aesthetic education reform in higher education in the new era,significantly contributing to interdisciplinary synergy and the comprehensive educational goal of integrating moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetic,and labor education. 展开更多

The integration of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)into clinical education presents an opportunity to enhance medical training by providing students with a more holistic approach to patient care.This study explores the methods and challenges of integrating TCM theory into clinical internships for medical students at the First Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine.A mixed-methods approach was employed,combining quantitative surveys and qualitative interviews with medical students,clinical instructors,and TCM practitioners.The results indicate that while students generally recognize the relevance and benefits of TCM in enhancing diagnostic skills and promoting a holistic understanding of health,several challenges remain.These include the lack of standardized TCM training,limited practical exposure to TCM diagnostic methods,and resistance from some clinical instructors.Despite these challenges,students expressed a strong desire for more structured TCM training and greater support from instructors.Based on the findings,the study recommends the standardization of TCM curricula,enhanced professional development for instructors,and increased collaboration between Western and TCM practitioners.The study concludes that the integration of TCM into medical education can significantly improve student clinical skills and patient care outcomes if appropriately structured and supported. 展开更多

Integration of Climate Change into the Senior Secondary School Agricultural Science Curriculum in Nigeria

The study was carried out to identify content areas of climate change for integration into the senior secondary school agricultural science curriculum in countries such as Nigeria. Two research questions were developed and answered by the study while two null hypotheses were formulated and tested. Descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study was 441 while the sample was 249. A 34-item structured questionnaire was developed for data collection. The questionnaire items were face-validated by five experts while Cronbach alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the items. The copies of the questionnaire were administered to the respondents with the help of two research assistants. Weighted mean was used to answer the research questions while t-test statistic was used to test the null hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance and 240 degrees of freedom. The findings of the study revealed that four clusters with 23 items were required for integration in the curriculum while 11 materials were identified to help teach the content areas. It was also found that there was no significant (p > 0.05) difference in the mean responses of Lecturers and extension agents on each item in the content areas of climate change and materials for teaching them. The study recommended among others that the clusters and 23 items with the materials identified by the study should be integrated into the agricultural science curriculum for teaching in secondary schools, especially in Nigeria. 展开更多

Methods The advantages and disadvantages of the integrated curriculumof medical genetics and embryonic development were analyzed with the comparative analysis method. And opinions of students of the eight-year clinical medicine on the teaching of the current integrated curriculum were learnt about with questionnaires. Results The current integrated curriculum of medical genetics and embryonic development has basically achieved the goal of simplifying the original teaching contents and the crossing and integration of the related discipline contents,the overall student satisfaction is high. Conclusion The integrated curriculum of medical genetics and embryonic development is helpful for the integral optimization of the medical curriculum framework,which can be expanded to the five-year clinical medicine in the future. 展开更多

Today, Central Asia continues to face many political, socio-economic and cultural changes brought about by the end of one ruling ideology, particularly in the field of education. With the loss of Soviet ideology that formed the basis of the curriculum and educational standards, transition and instability threatened to supplant one ideology for another, in the form of newly developed myths of nationalism on one end of the spectrum and fundamentalism or anti-globalism on the other. Thus, the task of educators working through this period of transition has been both arduous and complex. Humanities education of AKHP of UCA (Aga Khan Humanities Project of University of Central Asia) provides a key channel for training students and educators in independent critical thinking, tolerance of pluralism, and appreciation for the importance of diversity in Central Asian post-Soviet societies, playing a pivotal role in the promotion of these values. This paper argues that cultivating knowledge in the humanities can prevent development of extreme ideologies such as nationalism, fundamentalism and anti-globalization in the region following independence. The positive impacts of implementation of AKHP and its liberating role in the life of the Central Asian students show that development and adoption of an integrated interdisciplinary curriculum that incorporates cross-cultural and comparative studies can serve as a catalyst for reform of the broader education system and the region at large. 展开更多
