A method to address the challenges of charging conditions on incremental capacity analysis:An ICA-compensation technique incorporating current interrupt methods

The incremental capacity analysis(ICA)technique is notably limited by its sensitivity to variations in charging conditions,which constrains its practical applicability in real-world scenarios.This paper introduces an ICA-compensation technique to address this limitation and propose a generalized framework for assessing the state of health(SOH)of batteries based on ICA that is applicable under differing charging conditions.This novel approach calculates the voltage profile under quasi-static conditions by subtracting the voltage increase attributable to the additional polarization effects at high currents from the measured voltage profile.This approach's efficacy is contingent upon precisely acquiring the equivalent impedance.To obtain the equivalent impedance throughout the batteries'lifespan while minimizing testing costs,this study employs a current interrupt technique in conjunction with a long short-term memory(LSTM)network to develop a predictive model for equivalent impedance.Following the derivation of ICA curves using voltage profiles under quasi-static conditions,the research explores two scenarios for SOH estimation:one utilizing only incremental capacity(IC)features and the other incorporating both IC features and IC sampling.A genetic algorithm-optimized backpropagation neural network(GABPNN)is employed for the SOH estimation.The proposed generalized framework is validated using independent training and test datasets.Variable test conditions are applied for the test set to rigorously evaluate the methodology under challenging conditions.These evaluation results demonstrate that the proposed framework achieves an estimation accuracy of 1.04%for RMSE and 0.90%for MAPE across a spectrum of charging rates ranging from 0.1 C to 1 C and starting SOCs between 0%and 70%,which constitutes a major advancement compared to established ICA methods.It also significantly enhances the applicability of conventional ICA techniques in varying charging conditions and negates the necessity for separate testing protocols for each charging scenario. 展开更多

With the linear interpolation method, an improved absorbing boundary condition(ABC)is introduced and derived, which is suitable for the alternating-direction-implicit finite- difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) method. The reflection of the ABC caused by both the truncated error and the phase velocity error is analyzed. Based on the phase velocity estimation and the nonuniform cell, two methods are studied and then adopted to improve the performance of the ABC. A calculation case of a rectangular waveguide which is a typical dispersive transmission line is carried out using the ADI-FDTD method with the improved ABC for evaluation. According to the calculated case, the comparison is given between the reflection coefficients of the ABC with and without the velocity estimation and also the comparison between the reflection coefficients of the ABC with and without the nonuniform processing. The reflection variation of the ABC under different time steps is also analyzed and the acceptable worsening will not obscure the improvement on the absorption. Numerical results obviously show that efficient improvement on the absorbing performance of the ABC is achieved based on these methods for the ADI-FDTD. 展开更多

The support of catalyst for the direct synthesis of diphenyl carbonate (DPC) by heterogeneous catalytic reaction was prepared by the sol-gel method. Compared with activated charcoal, molecular sieve, porous ceramics, hopcalite, the support prepared by the sol-gel method has higher activity. The characterization of the support by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) show that the mare crystal phase is Co2MnO4 and the average particle diameter is about 40 nm. The optimum conditions for synthesis of the support were determined by orthogonal experiments, which indicate that the proportion of Cu, Mn, and Co is the first important factor influencing the yield and selectivity of DPC. Temperature of calcination is the second one. The optimum conditions are: molar proportion of Cu, Mn, and Co being 1 : 1 : 1, temperature of calcination 700℃, drying at 100~C, temperature of water bath 85~C. The yield and selectivity of DPC in the process can reach 38% and 99% in the batch operation, respectively. The copper cobalt manganese mixed oxides chosen as the support contribute more to the high catalytic activity than the sol-gel method. 展开更多

Recent years have witnessed growing interests in solving partial differential equations by deep neural networks,especially in the high-dimensional case.Unlike classical numerical methods,such as finite difference method and finite element method,the enforcement of boundary conditions in deep neural networks is highly nontrivial.One general strategy is to use the penalty method.In the work,we conduct a comparison study for elliptic problems with four different boundary conditions,i.e.,Dirichlet,Neumann,Robin,and periodic boundary conditions,using two representative methods:deep Galerkin method and deep Ritz method.In the former,the PDE residual is minimized in the least-squares sense while the corresponding variational problem is minimized in the latter.Therefore,it is reasonably expected that deep Galerkin method works better for smooth solutions while deep Ritz method works better for low-regularity solutions.However,by a number of examples,we observe that deep Ritz method can outperform deep Galerkin method with a clear dependence of dimensionality even for smooth solutions and deep Galerkin method can also outperform deep Ritz method for low-regularity solutions.Besides,in some cases,when the boundary condition can be implemented in an exact manner,we find that such a strategy not only provides a better approximate solution but also facilitates the training process. 展开更多

In the existing landslide susceptibility prediction(LSP)models,the influences of random errors in landslide conditioning factors on LSP are not considered,instead the original conditioning factors are directly taken as the model inputs,which brings uncertainties to LSP results.This study aims to reveal the influence rules of the different proportional random errors in conditioning factors on the LSP un-certainties,and further explore a method which can effectively reduce the random errors in conditioning factors.The original conditioning factors are firstly used to construct original factors-based LSP models,and then different random errors of 5%,10%,15% and 20%are added to these original factors for con-structing relevant errors-based LSP models.Secondly,low-pass filter-based LSP models are constructed by eliminating the random errors using low-pass filter method.Thirdly,the Ruijin County of China with 370 landslides and 16 conditioning factors are used as study case.Three typical machine learning models,i.e.multilayer perceptron(MLP),support vector machine(SVM)and random forest(RF),are selected as LSP models.Finally,the LSP uncertainties are discussed and results show that:(1)The low-pass filter can effectively reduce the random errors in conditioning factors to decrease the LSP uncertainties.(2)With the proportions of random errors increasing from 5%to 20%,the LSP uncertainty increases continuously.(3)The original factors-based models are feasible for LSP in the absence of more accurate conditioning factors.(4)The influence degrees of two uncertainty issues,machine learning models and different proportions of random errors,on the LSP modeling are large and basically the same.(5)The Shapley values effectively explain the internal mechanism of machine learning model predicting landslide sus-ceptibility.In conclusion,greater proportion of random errors in conditioning factors results in higher LSP uncertainty,and low-pass filter can effectively reduce these random errors. 展开更多

For non-homogeneous jump conditions,a pair of functions that satisfy the same non-homogeneous jump conditions are constructed using a level-set representation of the interface.With such a pair of functions,the discontinuities across the interface in the solution and flux are removed;and an equivalent elasticity interface problem with homogeneous jump conditions is formulated.Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate that such methods have second order convergence. 展开更多

ZnO is a highly significant II-VI semiconductor known for its excellent optoelectronic properties,making it widely applicable and promising for use in light-emitting devices,solar cells,lasers,and photodetectors.The methods for preparing ZnO are diverse,and among them,the hydrothermal method is favored for its simplicity,ease of operation,and low cost,making it an optimal choice for ZnO single-crystal growth.Most studies investigating the effects of different hydrothermal experimental parameters on the morphology and performance of ZnO nano-materials typically focus on only 2—3 variable parameters,with few examining the impact of all possible experimental parameter changes on ZnO nano-mate-rials.The principles of the hydrothermal method and its advantages in nano-material preparation were briefly introduced in this article.The detailed discussion on the influence of various experimental parameters on the preparation of ZnO nano-materials was provided,which including reaction materials,Zn^(2+)/OH^(-)ratio,reaction time and temperature,additives,experimental equipment,and annealing conditions.The review co-vers how different experimental parameters affect the morphology and performance of the materials,as well as how different rare earth doping elements influence the performance of ZnO nano-materials.It is hoped that this work will contribute to future research on the hydrothermal synthesis of nano-materials. 展开更多

Systemreliability sensitivity analysis becomes difficult due to involving the issues of the correlation between failure modes whether using analytic method or numerical simulation methods.A fast conditional reduction method based on conditional probability theory is proposed to solve the sensitivity analysis based on the approximate analytic method.The relevant concepts are introduced to characterize the correlation between failure modes by the reliability index and correlation coefficient,and conditional normal fractile the for the multi-dimensional conditional failure analysis is proposed based on the two-dimensional normal distribution function.Thus the calculation of system failure probability can be represented as a summation of conditional probability terms,which is convenient to be computed by iterative solving sequentially.Further the system sensitivity solution is transformed into the derivation process of the failure probability correlation coefficient of each failure mode.Numerical examples results show that it is feasible to apply the idea of failure mode relevancy to failure probability sensitivity analysis,and it can avoid multi-dimension integral calculation and reduce complexity and difficulty.Compared with the product of conditional marginalmethod,a wider value range of correlation coefficient for reliability analysis is confirmed and an acceptable accuracy can be obtained with less computational cost. 展开更多

This paper proposed the explicit generalized-a time scheme and periodic boundary conditions in the material point method(MPM)for the simulation of coseismic site response.The proposed boundary condition uses an intuitive particle-relocation algorithm ensuring material points always remain within the computational mesh.The explicit generalized-a time scheme was implemented in MPM to enable the damping of spurious high frequency oscillations.Firstly,the MPM was verified against finite element method(FEM).Secondly,ability of the MPM in capturing the analytical transfer function was investigated.Thirdly,a symmetric embankment was adopted to investigate the effects of ground motion arias intensity(I_(a)),geometry dimensions,and constitutive models.The results show that the larger the model size,the higher the crest runout and settlement for the same ground motion.When using a Mohr-Coulomb model,the crest runout increases with increasing I_(a).However,if the strain-softening law is activated,the results are less influenced by the ground motion.Finally,the MPM results were compared with the Newmark sliding block solution.The simplified analysis herein highlights the capabilities of MPM to capture the full deformation process for earthquake engineering applications,the importance of geometry characterization,and the selection of appropriate constitutive models when simulating coseismic site response and subsequent large deformations. 展开更多

Outgoing waves arising from high-velocity impacts between soil and structure can be reflected by the conventional truncated boundaries.Absorbing boundary conditions(ABCs),to attenuate the energy of the outward waves,are necessary to ensure the proper representation of the kinematic field and the accurate quantification of impact forces.In this paper,damping layer and dashpot ABCs are implemented in the material point method(MPM)with slight adjustments.Benchmark scenarios of different dynamic problems are modelled with the ABCs configured.Feasibility of the ABCs is assessed through the velocity fluctuations at specific observation points and the impact force fluctuations on the structures.The impact forces predicted by the MPM with ABCs are verified by comparison with those estimated using a computational fluid dynamics approach. 展开更多

The alternating method based on the fundamental solutions of the infinite domain containing a crack,namely Muskhelishvili’s solutions,divides the complex structure with a crack into a simple model without crack which can be solved by traditional numerical methods and an infinite domain with a crack which can be solved by Muskhelishvili’s solutions.However,this alternating method cannot be directly applied to the edge crack problems since partial crack surface of Muskhelishvili’s solutions is located outside the computational domain.In this paper,an improved alternating method,the spline fictitious boundary element alternating method(SFBEAM),based on infinite domain with the combination of spline fictitious boundary element method(SFBEM)and Muskhelishvili’s solutions is proposed to solve the edge crack problems.Since the SFBEM and Muskhelishvili’s solutions are obtained in the framework of infinite domain,no special treatment is needed for solving the problem of edge cracks.Different mixed boundary conditions edge crack problems with varies of computational parameters are given to certify the high precision,efficiency and applicability of the proposed method compared with other alternating methods and extend finite element method. 展开更多

Based on Kirchhoff plate theory and the Rayleigh-Ritz method,the model for free vibration of rectangular plate with rectangular cutouts under arbitrary elastic boundary conditions is established by using the improved Fourier series in combination with the independent coordinate coupling method(ICCM).The effect of the cutout is taken into account by subtracting the energies of the cutouts from the total energies of the whole plate.The vibration displacement function of the hole domain is based on the coordinate system of the hole domain in this method.From the continuity condition of the vibration displacement function at the cutout,the transition matrix between the two coordinate systems is constructed,and the mass and stiffness matrices are completely obtained.As a result,the calculation is simplified and the computational efficiency of the solution is improved.In this paper,numerical examples and modal experiments are presented to validate the effectiveness of the modeling methods,and parameters related to influencing factors of the rectangular plate are analyzed to study the vibration characteristics. 展开更多

The Magnetic Barkhausen Noise (MBN) technology is a non-destructive method to measure the neutral temperature of thc CWR track. A series of in-field verifications and data comparison on Australian mainline tracks have shown the results from that system are highly accurate and reliable. The system can be an accuracy and cost-effective tool to prevent the potential buckling and break of CWR rails. The physical backgrounds and features of the system are represented in this paper. The Darwin-Alice Springs Line is a newly constructed main line in Australia which is linked from the north and middle of Australia. Originally, this rail line is designed and constructed in a "cost-effective" way to a lower price, and the key parameters are relatively low. To maintain the stability of the CWR tracks in a very harsh environment, some new technologies such as the MBN technology were utilised. From the results of neutral temperature, it is found that the majority of them are very high. Combined with the calculation and finite element analysis, these problems evidenced that it is caused by the low toe load fastening system and high sleeper spacing. After that some suggestions are given to improve the stability of the CWR on the railway line. 展开更多

The growing importance of maintaining and extending the functional lifespan of reinforced concrete structures has resulted in an increased emphasis on non-destructive testing techniques as essential tools for evaluating structural conditions.Non-destructive testing procedures offer a notable benefit in assessing the uniformity,homogeneity,ability to withstand compression,durability,and degree of corrosion in reinforcing bars within reinforced concrete structures.This study aimed to evaluate the existing condition of partially constructed residential buildings in Rewari district,located in the state of Haryana.The reinforced concrete structure of the building had been completed eight years ago,however,the project was abruptly stopped.Prior to recommencing the construction,it is important to assess the present state of the structure in order to evaluate the deterioration in Reinforced Cement Concrete(RCC).The building’s state was evaluated by visually inspecting the building,conducting on-site examinations,and analyzing samples in a laboratory.The findings emphasize the assessment of the robustness and durability of concrete to ascertain the degree of deterioration and degradation in the structure.The study incorporates visual inspection,and non-destructive evaluation utilizing different instruments to evaluate the corrosion condition of reinforcing bars.In addition,selected RCC columns,beams,and slabs undergo chemical testing.It has been observed that the strength results and chemical results were within permissible limits. 展开更多
