In this paper,a dynamic flow-regulation algorithm-oriented network overload control is proposed.It can proportion-ally distribute the load between the high-degree nodes and the low-degree nodes.According to the theoretical analysis,the net-work transmission performance of the proposed algorithm is in inverse proportion to the usage rate of the high-degree nodes.Simulations show that the new algorithm is more flexible and can enhance the network capability in most circumstances compared with the shortest path routing algorithm.Moreover,the compari-son with the efficient routing algorism also reveals the prominent performance of the new algorithm. 展开更多

AIM:To evaluate the surgical outcomes following radical antegrade modular pancreatosplenectomy (RAMPS) for pancreatic cancer. METHODS:Twenty-four patients underwent RAMPS with curative intent between January 2005 and June 2009 at the National Cancer Center, South Korea. Clinicopathologic data, including age, sex, operative findings, pathologic results, adjuvant therapy, postop-erative clinical course and follow-up data were retro-spectively collected and analyzed for this study. RESULTS:Twenty-one patients (87.5%) underwent distal pancreatectomy and 3 patients (12.5%) underwent total pancreatectomy using RAMPS. Nine patients (37.5%) underwent combined vessel resection, including 8 superior mesenteric-portal vein resections and 1 celiac axis resection. Two patients (8.3%) underwent combined resection of other organs, including the colon, stomach or duodenum. Negative tangential margins were achieved in 22 patients (91.7%). The mean tumor diameter for all patients was 4.09 ± 2.15 cm. The 2 patients with positive margins had a mean diameter of 7.25 cm. The mean number of retrieved lymph nodes was 20.92 ± 11.24 and the node positivity rate was 70.8%. The median survival of the 24 patients was 18.23 ± 6.02 mo. Patients with negative margins had a median survival of 21.80 ± 5.30 mo and those with positive margins had a median survival of 6.47 mo (P = 0.021). Nine patients (37.5%) had postoperative complications, but there were no postoperative mortalities. Pancreatic fistula occurred in 4 patients (16.7%):2 patients had a grade A fistula and 2 had a grade B fistula. On univariate analysis, histologic grade, positive tangential margin, pancreatic fistula and adjuvant therapy were significant prognostic factors for survival. CONCLUSION:RAMPS is a feasible procedure for achieving negative tangential margins in patients with carcinoma of the body and tail of the pancreas. 展开更多

AIM:To evaluate the effectiveness of omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acid(ω-3 PUFA) administration on liver regeneration after 90% partial hepatectomy(PH) in rats.METHODS:ω-3 PUFAs were intravenously injected in the ω-3 PUFA group before PH surgery.PH,sparing only the caudate lobe,was performed in both the control and the ω-3 PUFA group.Survival rates,liver weight/body weight ratios,liver weights,HE staining,transmission electron microscope imaging,nuclearassociated antigen Ki-67,enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay and signal transduction were evaluated to analyze liver regeneration.RESULTS:All rats in the control group died within 30 h after hepatectomy.Survival rates in the ω-3 PUFA group were 20/20 at 30 h and 4/20 1 wk after PH.Liver weight/body weight ratios and liver weights increased significantly in the ω-3 PUFA group.The structure of sinusoidal endothelial cells and space of Disse was greatly restored in the ω-3 PUFA group compared to the control group after PH.In the ω-3 PUFA group,interleukin(IL)-4 and IL-10 levels were significantly increased whereas IL-6 and tumor necrosis factor-levels were dramatically decreased.In addition,activation of protein kinase B(Akt) and of signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 signaling pathway were identified at an earlier time after PH in the ω-3 PUFA group.CONCLUSION:Omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids may prevent acute liver failure and promote liver regeneration after 90% hepatectomy in rats. 展开更多

This article aims to perform a thorough review of new data regarding invasive cancer and margins while evaluating patient outcomes related to BCS after neoadjuvant chemotherapy focusing on margins, imaging evaluation, the extent of resection, and local regional recurrence outcomes. The growth pattern and biopsy of Ductal Carcinoma </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">In Situ</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> (DCIS) differ from invasive cancer, impacting margins. It is essential to understand how the Society of Surgical Oncology (SSO) DCIS margin guideline has influenced practice. Early breast cancer surgical management should be unique to each patient, driven by evidence-based medicine, and focused on specific clinical, histological, and molecular characteristics of the tumor. </span><b><span style="font-family:Verdana;">Conclusion: </span></b><span style="font-family:Verdana;">The current management for early breast cancer should be tailored and evidence-based to each patient based on the clinical, histological and molecular characteristics of the tumor. Photoautotrophic Growth and Net Photosynthetic Rate of Sweet Potato Plantlets In Vitro as Affected by the Number of Air Exchanges of the Vessel and Type of Supporting Material 被引量:3

To produce high-quality sweet potato plantlets rapidly at low production costs, single nodal leafy cuttings of sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas (L.) Lam.) plantlets were cultured in vitro for 14 days on sugarand phytohormone-free Murashige and Skoog (MS) liquid medium, at a photosynthetic photon flux (PPF) of 200 μmol.m^-2.s^-1 and a CO2 concentration (v/v) of 1.8×10^-3. A factorial experiment was conducted with two levels of the number of air exchanges of the vessel (NAE), 8.7-12.2 h^-1 and 〉12.2 h^-1, and two types of supporting material, vermiculite and Florialite (a porous material). The control treatment consisted of a pho- tomixotrophic culture using a sugar- and NAA-containing agar MS medium with an NAE of 2.4 h^-1. PPF and CO2 concentrations were the same as the photoautotrophic treatments. In comparison with the control treatment, the photoautotrophic treatments with NAE of 8.7-12.2 h^-1 (MF treatment) and ≥12.2 h^-1 (HF treatment) were, respectively, 2.2 and 2.8 times in dry weight, and 3.7 and 4.2 times in net photosynthetic rate, when Florialite was used. The survival percentages of the plantlets in the field were, respectively, 86% and 97% in the MF and HF treatments, and 35% and 46% higher than that in the control treatment. The plantlets cultured with Florialite showed greater growth, compared with those cultured with vermiculite. Photoautotrophic micropropagation system with high NAE and the use of porous supporting material can produce high-quality plantlets and make it possible to reduce production costs. 展开更多
