The objective of this research is to examine the antecedents and consequences of cost management systems (CMS) design effectiveness of manufacturing businesses in Thailand. The effect of CMS design effectiveness on cost information quality is investigated. Moreover, the effect of cost information quality on business success is investigated. Furthermore, executive management support and cost accountant competency are assumed to become the antecedents of CMS design effectiveness. Electronics manufacturing businesses in Thailand are samples of the research. A mail survey procedure via the questionnaire was used for data collection from accounting controllers. The results indicate that CMS design effectiveness has a positive significant effect on cost information quality. Moreover, cost information quality also has a positive significant effect on business success. Additionally, both executive management support and cost accountant competency have a positive significant effect on CMS design effectiveness. 展开更多

Diabetes mellitus has spread throughout many nations of the world and is now a serious threat.A lack of patient self‑management has been linked to this drain on global health.The consequences of diabetic patients’poor self‑management have increased a variety of complications and lengthened hospital stays.Poor information and skill acquisition have been linked to poor self‑management.Participating in a co‑operative approach known as diabetes self‑management education will help diabetes patients who want to successfully self‑manage their condition and any associated conditions.Information is one of the most important components of a diabetes management strategy.In conclusion,numerous studies have shown that patients with diabetes have poor self‑management skills and knowledge in all areas,making training in diabetes self‑management necessary to minimize the complications that may result from diabetes mellitus among the patients.This review discussed the severity of diabetes mellitus,diabetes self‑management,and the benefits and challenges of diabetes self‑management,which may aid individuals in understanding the significance of diabetes self‑management and how it relates to diabetes self‑care. 展开更多

Riverine flood event situation awareness and emergency management decision support systems require accurate and scalable geoanalytic data at the local level. This paper introduces the Water-flow Visualization Enhancement (WaVE), a new framework and toolset that integrates enhanced geospatial analytics visualization (common operating picture) and decision support modular tools. WaVE enables users to: 1) dynamically generate on-the-fly, highly granular and interactive geovisual real-time and predictive flood maps that can be scaled down to show discharge, inundation, water velocity, and ancillary geomorphology and hydrology data from the national level to regional and local level;2) integrate data and model analysis results from multiple sources;3) utilize machine learning correlation indexing to interpolate streamflow proxy estimates for non-functioning streamgages and extrapolate discharge estimates for ungaged streams;and 4) have time-scaled drill-down visualization of real-time and forecasted flood events. Four case studies were conducted to test and validate WaVE under diverse conditions at national, regional and local levels. Results from these case studies highlight some of WaVE’s inherent strengths, limitations, and the need for further development. WaVE has the potential for being utilized on a wider basis at the local level as data become available and models are validated for converting satellite images and data records from remote sensing technologies into accurate streamflow estimates and higher resolution digital elevation models. 展开更多

Unleashing the value of HR analytics:examining the competency influence on business performance in Sri Lanka

This study examines interconnections among human resource(HR)professionals’HR analytics competencies,top management support,HR analytics deployment,outcomes of HR,and organisational performance.The data are gathered from 364 HR professionals working in 50 leading companies across Sri Lanka,such as telecommunications,banking and finance,education,tourism,textiles,and healthcare and energy.Each company contributed responses from 7 to 10 HR professionals at senior,middle,and junior levels.Mediation effects are examined using the Baron and Kenny method,along with Process Macro,while regression analysis tests the moderation effect.Structural equation modelling is utilised to assess model fitness,including the reliability and validity of the constructs.The findings support seven hypotheses:(1)HR professionals’HR analytics competency significantly and positively influences HR analytics deployment,(2)HR related outcomes are positively affected by the execution of HR analytics,(3)organisational performance is favourably affected by HR outcomes,(4)HR analytics deployment enhances the performance of the organisation,(5)the HR analytics deployment intervenes the linkage amid HR analytics competencies of HR professionals and HR related outcomes,(6)HR analytics deployment has a mediated effect on organisational performance via HR related outcomes,and(7)the connection between HR professionals analytics competencies and the HR analytics deployment is moderated by the support given by top management.The results of this investigation inspire human resource experts to uphold human resource analytics(evidence-based HRM),particularly in emerging countries like Sri Lanka.A new conceptual model rooted in the analytics value chain theory and contextually-based human resource theory is constructed and empirically tested in this research. 展开更多

Digital technologies have changed the way supply chain operations are structured.In this article,we conduct systematic syntheses of literature on the impact of new technologies on supply chains and the related cyber risks.A taxonomic/cladistic approach is used for the evaluations of progress in the area of supply chain integration in the Industrial Internet of Things and Industry 4.0,with a specific focus on the mitigation of cyber risks.An analytical framework is presented,based on a critical assessment with respect to issues related to new types of cyber risk and the integration of supply chains with new technologies.This paper identifies a dynamic and self-adapting supply chain system supported with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning(AI/ML)and real-time intelligence for predictive cyber risk analytics.The system is integrated into a cognition engine that enables predictive cyber risk analytics with real-time intelligence from IoT networks at the edge.This enhances capacities and assist in the creation of a comprehensive understanding of the opportunities and threats that arise when edge computing nodes are deployed,and when AI/ML technologies are migrated to the periphery of IoT networks. 展开更多
