The well-known reductive perturbation method has been used to derive the Kortewegde Vries(K-d V) and Burgers(BG) equations. The parametric regimes for the existence of both the positive and negative solitary and shock waves have been obtained. The effects of adiabaticity of heavy ions and superthermality of electrons, which are found to notably modify the fundamental features(viz. polarity, amplitude, phase speed, etc.) of HIA solitary and shock waves, are precisely studied. The results of our theoretical investigation can be applicable to understand the characteristics and basic nonlinear structures of HIA waves both in space and laboratory plasma situations.展开更多

Based on the dynamics, the temperature of the electron in the laser field is delined and calculated. It is found that the calculated temperature fits the first temperature observed in the experiment by Malka et al. A model to evaluate the electron temperature by taking the electron-ion scattering into account is proposed. It is found that when I ≥ 4.0 × 101s W/cm2 the electron temperature by considering the scattering, T hs, is evidently larger than the electron temperature without considering the scattering, Th. This result is in favor of explaining the two-temperature distribution of the electron energy observed in the experiment by Malka et al.展开更多

The modified Burgers equation (roBE) is derived by using the reductive perturbation method. The basic features of PA SHWs are significantly modified by the cold positron kinematic viscosity (U), superthermal parameter of electrons (ke), superthermal parameter of hot positrons (kp), the ratio of the electron temperature to hot positron temperature (or), the ratio of the electron number density to cold positron number density (μe), and the ratio of the hot positron number density to cold positron number density (μph). This study could be useful to identify the basic properties of nonlinear electrostatic disturbances in dissipative space and laboratory plasmas.展开更多

The influence of electron deviation from the Maxwellian distribution and ion streaming on the existence domain of solitons is discussed in the (M, f) space using the pseudo-potential approach. It is found that in the presence of streaming ions and for a fixed f, solitons may appear for larger values of M. This means that in the presence of ion streaming, high values of the Mach number are needed to have soliton. The DIA solitary waves profile is highly sensitive to the ion streaming speed. Their amplitude is found to decrease with an increase of the ion streaming speed. In addition, we find that the ion streaming effect may lead to the appearance of double layers. The results of this axticle should be useful in understanding the basic nonlinear features of DIA waves propagating in space dusty plasmas, especially those including a relative motion between species, such as comet tails and solar wind streams, etc.展开更多

The dynamic of both electrons and ions is simulated by the generalized Lorentzian (κ) distribution function (DF). The dust grains are cold and their dynamics are studied by hydrodynamic equations. The basic set of fluid equations is reduced to modified Korteweg-de Vries (mKdV) equation using Reductive Perturbation Theory (RPT). Two types of solitary waves, fast and slow dust acoustic soliton (DAS) exist in this plasma. Caiculations reveal that compressive solitary structures are possibly propagated in the plasma where dust grains are negatively (or positively) charged. The properties of DASs are also investigated numerically.展开更多

By deriving a Korteweg-de Vries-Burgers equation and studying its shock solution, we aim to highlight the effects of magnetic field and obliqueness on various properties of the DA shock structures in the presence of kappa-distributed two temperature ion population. The present model is motivated by the observations of Geotail spacecraft in the Earth's magnetotail and it is seen that the different physical parameters such as superthermality of the cold and hot ions, the cold to hot ion temperature ratio, the magnetic field strength, obliqueness and the dust kinematic viscosity greatly influence the dynamics of the shock structures so formed. The results suggest that the variation of superthermalities of the cold and hot ions have contrasting effects on both positive and negative polarity shock structures. Moreover, it is noted that the presence of the ambient magnetic field affects the dispersive properties of the medium and tends to make the shock structures less wide and more abrupt. The findings of present investigation may be useful in understanding the dynamics of shock waves in dusty plasma environments containing two temperature ions where the electrons are significantly depleted.展开更多

The reductive perturbation technique is employed to derive a nonlinear Zakharov Kuznetsov equation that governs the essential features of nonlinear PAP travelling waves. Moreover, the bifurcation theory is used to investigate the propagation of nonlinear PAP periodic travelling wave solutions. It is found that kappa distributed hot positrons and electrons provide only the possibility of existence of nonlinear compressive PAP travelling waves.
