A global-local finite element analysis of hybrid composite-to-metal bolted connections used in aerospace engineering 被引量:2

Efficient bolted joint design is an essential part of designing the minimum weight aerospace structures, since structural failures usually occur at connections and interface. A comprehensive numerical study of three-dimensional(3D) stress variations is prohibitively expensive for a large-scale structure where hundreds of bolts can be present. In this work, the hybrid composite-to-metal bolted connections used in the upper stage of European Ariane 5ME rocket are analyzed using the global-local finite element(FE) approach which involves an approximate analysis of the whole structure followed by a detailed analysis of a significantly smaller region of interest. We calculate the Tsai-Wu failure index and the margin of safety using the stresses obtained from ABAQUS. We find that the composite part of a hybrid bolted connection is prone to failure compared to the metal part. We determine the bolt preload based on the clamp-up load calculated using a maximum preload to make the composite part safe. We conclude that the unsuitable bolt preload may cause the failure of the composite part due to the high stress concentration in the vicinity of the bolt. The global-local analysis provides an efficient computational tool for enhancing 3D stress analysis in the highly loaded region. 展开更多

Auditory verbal hallucination(AVH)is emphasized as a pathological hallmark of schizophrenia.Neuroimaging studies provide evidence linking AVH to overlapping functional abnormalities in distributed networks.However,no clear conclusion has still been reached.This study aimed to further explore the brain activity of patients with schizophrenia having AVH from both local activity(LA)and functional connectivity(FC)insights,while excluding confounding factors from other positive symptoms.A total of 42 patients with AVH(AVH patients group,APG),26 without AVH(non-AVH patients group,NPG),and 82 normal controls(NC)underwent resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(fMRI).LA measures,including regional homogeneity(ReHo)and fractional amplitude of low-frequency fluctuations(fALFF),and FC measures were evaluated to understand the neuroimaging mechanism of AVH.APG showed increased ReHo and fALFF in the bilateral putamen(Put)compared with NPG and NC.FC analysis(using bilateral putamen as seeds)revealed that all patients showed abnormal FC of multiple resting state network regions,including the anterior and post cingulate cortex,middle frontal gyrus,inferior parietal gyrus,and left angular gyrus.Interestingly,APG showed significantly decreased FC of insula extending to the superior temporal gyrus and inferior frontal gyrus compared with NPG and NC.The present findings suggested a significant correlation of abnormal LA and dysfunctional putamen-auditory cortical connectivity with the neuropathological mechanism of AVH,providing evidence for the functional disconnection hypothesis of schizophrenia. 展开更多

The ability to localize sound sources rapidly allows human beings to efficiently understand the surrounding environment.Previous studies have suggested that there is an auditory“where”pathway in the cortex for processing sound locations.The neural activation in regions along this pathway encodes sound locations by opponent hemifield coding,in which each unilateral region is activated by sounds coming from the contralateral hemifield.However,it is still unclear how these regions interact with each other to form a unified representation of the auditory space.In the present study,we investigated whether functional connectivity in the auditory“where”pathway encoded sound locations during passive listening.Participants underwent functional magnetic resonance imaging while passively listening to sounds from five distinct horizontal locations(−90°,−45°,0°,45°,90°).We were able to decode sound locations from the functional connectivity patterns of the“where”pathway.Furthermore,we found that such neural representation of sound locations was primarily based on the coding of sound lateralization angles to the frontal midline.In addition,whole-brain analysis indicated that functional connectivity between occipital regions and the primary auditory cortex also encoded sound locations by lateralization angles.Overall,our results reveal a lateralization-angle-based representation of sound locations encoded by functional connectivity patterns,which could add on the activation-based opponent hemifield coding to provide a more precise representation of the auditory space. 展开更多

Multiple sclerosis is associated with structural and functional brain alterations leading to cognitive impairments across multiple domains including attention,memory,and the speed of information processing.The hippocampus,which is a brain important structure involved in memory,undergoes microstructural changes in the early stage of multiple sclerosis.In this study,we analyzed hippocampal function and structure in patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis and explored correlations between the functional connectivity of the hippocampus to the whole brain,changes in local brain function and microstructure,and cognitive function at rest.We retrospectively analyzed data from 20 relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis patients admitted to the Department of Neurology at the China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University,China,from April 2015 to November 2019.Sixteen healthy volunteers were recruited as the healthy control group.All participants were evaluated using a scale of extended disability status and the Montreal cognitive assessment within 1 week before and after head diffusion tensor imaging and functional magnetic resonance imaging.Compared with the healthy control group,the patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis had lower Montreal cognitive assessment scores and regions of simultaneously enhanced and attenuated whole-brain functional connectivity and local functional connectivity in the bilateral hippocampus.Hippocampal diffusion tensor imaging data showed that,compared with the healthy control group,patients with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis had lower hippocampal fractional anisotropy values and higher mean diffusivity values,suggesting abnormal hippocampal structure.The left hippocampus whole-brain functional connectivity was negatively correlated with the Montreal cognitive assessment score(r=-0.698,P=0.025),and whole-brain functional connectivity of the right hippocampus was negatively correlated with extended disability status scale score(r=-0.649,P=0.042).The mean diffusivity value of the left hippocampus was negatively correlated with the Montreal cognitive assessment score(r=-0.729,P=0.017)and positively correlated with the extended disability status scale score(r=0.653,P=0.041).The right hippocampal mean diffusivity value was positively correlated with the extended disability status scale score(r=0.684,P=0.029).These data suggest that the functional connectivity and presence of structural abnormalities in the hippocampus in patients with relapse-remission multiple sclerosis are correlated with the degree of cognitive function and extent of disability.This study was approved by the Ethics Committee of China-Japan Union Hospital of Jilin University,China(approval No.201702202)on February 22,2017. 展开更多

Objective The resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging(rs-f MRI)method was used to observe brain activity and its functional connection upon electroacupuncture stimulation at bilateral uterine acupoints(EX-CA1),as well as to investigate the mechanism of acupuncture in the treatment of gynecological diseases.Methods Twenty-two healthy female subjects were stimulated by electroacupuncture at bilateral uterine acupoints;rs-f MRI data of the brain were acquired and standardized.Degree centrality(DC),amplitude of low-frequency fluctuation(ALFF),and regional homogeneity(ReHo)were used to analyze local spontaneous brain activity via acupuncture.An independent component analysis was used to evaluate the functional connectivity of the resting brain networks after acupuncture.Results Analytical results showed that the neural activity intensity of the precuneus lobe,orbitofrontal cortex,lingual gyrus,amygdala,and posterior central gyrus decreased after acupuncture(voxel P<0.001,cluster P<0.05).Functional connectivity analysis revealed weakened auditory and right frontal-parietal networks(voxel P<0.001,cluster P<0.05),enhanced visual network(voxel P<0.001,cluster P<0.05),and synergistic auditory network and hypothalamic-pituitary system.Conclusion Significant differences in neural activity and functional connectivity in specific brain regions were observed after acupuncture intervention at uterine acupoints;the hypothalamic-pituitary system also showed various active states in different brain regions.It is speculated that the effective mechanism of acupuncture at uterine acupoints is related to the regulation of reproductive hormones,emotional changes,and somatic sensations.Therefore,the methods used in this study could clarify the neural mechanism of uterine-point acupuncture in the treatment of gynecological diseases and may serve as a reference for other studies pertaining to acupuncture. 展开更多

Earth models are important tools for support of decision making processes for optimal exploitation of subsurface resources. For geosteering and other real-time processes where time is a major constraint, effective model management is decisive for optimal decision support. During drilling, subsurface information is received which should optimally be used to modify the 3D earth model. Today this model is typically not altered during the operation. We discuss the principles of a novel method that enables a populated earth model grid to be locally modified when the topology (connectivity) of the geological structure is locally altered. The method also allows local updates of the grid resolution. The modelled volume is split into closed regions by the structural model. Each region is individually discretized and obtains its own subgrid. Properties are stored in separate functions, e.g. for each layer, and transferred into each subgrid via a mapping. A local update of the geological structure implies that only subgrids in regions that are directly affected by the updated structure must be discarded and rebuilt, and the rest of the populated earth model grid is retained. Our focus is on decision support for optimal well placement while geosteering. The proposed method aims to manage multiple model realizations that are never fixed and always locally updated with the most recent measurements and interpretations in real-time, and where each realization is always kept at an optimal resolution. 展开更多

Localization is crucial in wireless sensor networks for various applications,such as tracking objects in outdoor environments where GPS(Global Positioning System)or prior installed infrastructure is unavailable.However,traditional techniques involve many anchor nodes,increasing costs and reducing accuracy.Existing solutions do not address the selection of appropriate anchor nodes and selecting localized nodes as assistant anchor nodes for the localization process,which is a critical element in the localization process.Furthermore,an inaccurate average hop distance significantly affects localization accuracy.We propose an improved DV-Hop algorithm based on anchor sets(AS-IDV-Hop)to improve the localization accuracy.Through simulation analysis,we validated that the ASIDV-Hop proposed algorithm is more efficient in minimizing localization errors than existing studies.The ASIDV-Hop algorithm provides an efficient and cost-effective solution for localization in Wireless Sensor Networks.By strategically selecting anchor and assistant anchor nodes and rectifying the average hop distance,AS-IDV-Hop demonstrated superior performance,achieving a mean accuracy of approximately 1.59,which represents about 25.44%,38.28%,and 73.00%improvement over other algorithms,respectively.The estimated localization error is approximately 0.345,highlighting AS-IDV-Hop’s effectiveness.This substantial reduction in localization error underscores the advantages of implementing AS-IDV-Hop,particularly in complex scenarios requiring precise node localization. 展开更多

基于自适应反馈机制的小差异化图像纹理特征信息数据检索

针对小差异化图像纹理相似度和噪声等因素导致纹理特征挖掘效果较差的问题,设计一种自适应反馈结合局部二值机制的小差异化图像纹理特征挖掘方法.使用规范割策略将图像数据各点拟作节点,使用节点间的连接线权重计算2点的相似度,采用支... 针对小差异化图像纹理相似度和噪声等因素导致纹理特征挖掘效果较差的问题,设计一种自适应反馈结合局部二值机制的小差异化图像纹理特征挖掘方法.使用规范割策略将图像数据各点拟作节点,使用节点间的连接线权重计算2点的相似度,采用支持向量机训练图像属性参数分类图像属性,进一步归纳图像类别.运用跳跃连接方法传输图像数据,将数据引入卷积神经网络剔除图像噪声.将中心点像素值当作反馈因子,创建自适应反馈判定条件,利用局部二值模式实现小差异化图像纹理特征挖掘.在MATLAB平台进行试验,从卷积神经网络收敛性、图像频谱纹理单元数、平均准确率、图像数据匹配度等方面进行了分析,分析结果表明:随着迭代次数不断增加,精度损失逐渐降低,基本收敛到稳定值,达到了预期训练效果;所提出方法挖掘的图像频谱纹理单元数3800个以上,更贴合人眼视觉信息;平均准确率为0.87,准确率@1、准确率@5和准确率@10的平均值分别为0.90、0.84和0.85;挖掘耗时低于5 s,图像数据匹配度高于90.3%,验证了所提出方法可在图像纹理特征识别操作中发挥应有作用. 展开更多

在役钻杆螺纹连接结构的在机检测愈发迫切,而传统无损检测方法只能检测单根钻杆两端的内螺纹或外螺纹缺陷,无法满足在机检测的要求。该文提出啮合状态下钻杆螺纹连接结构的超声导波检测方法,使钻杆螺纹连接结构的在机检测成为可能。首先... 在役钻杆螺纹连接结构的在机检测愈发迫切,而传统无损检测方法只能检测单根钻杆两端的内螺纹或外螺纹缺陷,无法满足在机检测的要求。该文提出啮合状态下钻杆螺纹连接结构的超声导波检测方法,使钻杆螺纹连接结构的在机检测成为可能。首先,获得钻杆管体的频散曲线,选择群速度最大、曲线相对平坦、频率范围为60~120 kHz的L(0,2)为钻杆螺纹连接区域的检测模态;然后,从仿真和试验的角度研究了超声导波传播通过螺纹连接区域的透射特性;最后,通过仿真和试验的方法,基于L(0,2)模态超声导波实现了对钻杆螺纹连接区域的缺陷检测与定位。结果表明,基于超声导波方法检测啮合状态下钻杆螺纹连接区域是可行的和有效的,为钻杆螺纹连接结构的在机检测提供了一种新的方法和思路。 展开更多

针对浅海环境下水面或水下目标的定位问题,文章利用水声目标辐射噪声对其进行定位研究,提出了一种基于多任务学习的密集连接神经网络和卷积块注意力机制的水声目标定位方法,该方法可以同时估计目标的距离和深度。采用简正波模型计算垂... 针对浅海环境下水面或水下目标的定位问题,文章利用水声目标辐射噪声对其进行定位研究,提出了一种基于多任务学习的密集连接神经网络和卷积块注意力机制的水声目标定位方法,该方法可以同时估计目标的距离和深度。采用简正波模型计算垂直线性阵列接收到的宽带数据,将其归一化样本协方差矩阵用作网络训练的输入特征。同时,通过对输入特征进行向量化压缩处理,有效地减少了所需参数量。此外,通过参数灵敏度分析,探讨了海洋环境参数和声速剖面不匹配对目标定位性能的影响。仿真结果表明,与传统的匹配场处理方法相比,该方法在海洋环境不匹配情况时具有更高的定位精度和泛化能力。 展开更多
