Nowadays, people have been more critical about the traditional ways of teaching and advocate the student-centered teaching approach. This paper focuses on the student- centered approach in English classroom teaching in vocational colleges. It points out that the students' English levels, the current mainstream of teaching in English class as well as the teaching materials in Chinese vocational college are all important factors that influence the outcome of the student-centered teaching approach. Meanwhile, the paper proves that college students can gain more in the student-centered English class. In the end, some suggestions are provided. 展开更多

Although it is common for Chinese students to learn English for many years, they are still confronted with problems when it comes to communicating with people in English. Lack of working hard, necessary learning context, and interest does play a part; however, the problem really lies mostly in teaching process, so, to improve the quality of learning, teachers should bear more responsibilities and do more to bring humanism to English class and enhance student-centeredness. To achieve this goal, teachers should know more about students' learning styles so as to apply different approaches to students with different learning styles. What is more, priority should be given to analysis of learners' needs as well as preferences, on the basis of which a curriculum can be developed to meet the needs of a particular group of students. Finally, improvement of learner autonomy will lead to the shift of learning responsibilities from teacher to students, thus achieving student-centered learning ultimately. 展开更多

The teaching of Vocal Music Education in normal universities is a core part of vocal skills training in the system of music education, which has a direct impact on the cultivation of teachers of foundation music education. There has been a lot of discussion about Vocal Music Teaching or specifically aim at improving the students' comprehensive ability, but the number of systematic study which integrates both of the two is little. The training contents of the teaching of Vocal Music Education in normal universities include the features of rich teaching content; instructional mode is composed of classroom teaching, art practice, practice teaching and other diverse forms. The teaching of Vocal Music Education at normal universities can promote the cultivation of the students' comprehensive capabilities, including: the cultivation of moral and intellectual, the enhancement of cultural accomplishment, and the cultivation of language competence, connoisseurship and psychological qualities and such non-professional quality; good singing, correct listening and perception ability, good ability of piano accompaniment, and the cultivation and improvement of ability of teaching practice and such professional quality. The author combines the "student-centered" educational concept to analyze the teaching of Vocal Music at normal universities, hoping to provide some inspiration and help for educators of Vocal Music Teaching. 展开更多

Large Language Model (LLM-ChatGPT) and Learner Autonomy: Teaching Present Simple Tense as a Model

Learner autonomy stands on the top priorities of scholars due to its pivotal role in fostering student-centered learning methods. It empowers the learners to be in charge of their learning process and be the center of attention in language learning education. For this purpose, different AI tools were used and implemented in pedagogy to narrow the divide in promoting learning/teaching approaches. This study aims to gauge the impact of using LLM-ChatGPT to teach EFL learners the present simple tense autonomously via providing automated feedback, and chances for regular drillings without over reliance on teacher. It also aims to investigate the EFL learners’ perception of using LLM-ChatGPT as a reinforcement approach to learner autonomy. A cohort comprising 50 EFL learners would participate in the study and a between subject design method using control and experimental groups would be implemented. The findings of the study indicated that learners who were taught present simple tense’s rule through using LLM-ChatGPT application, with less teacher’s dominance, scored grades similar to those who were taught the same tense’s rule by the teacher (sage on the stage approach). This substantiates the idea that LLM-Chat GPT acts a role akin to teachers in teaching grammatical rules. Moreover, the learners felt that LLM-ChatGPT application had a positive impact on fostering autonomous learning. 展开更多

Environmental education is essential for developing awareness,critical thinking,and problem-solving skills needed to address pressing global challenges such as climate change,biodiversity loss,and resource depletion.Artificial intelligence(AI)can expand access to environmental learning by providing scalable,personalized educational tools that overcome geographical and logistical barriers.This paper explored the perceptions of science teaching about the potential application of AI in environmental teaching.A purposive sampling method was employed to select 25 science teachers,who were selected through an online screening process and subsequently interviewed individually.Findings indicated that AI enabled personalized learning pathways,allowing students to engage with designed content and tasks suited to their individual levels,which enhanced academic growth and interest.AI-powered simulations allowed students to experiment with environmental changes in immersive,risk-free environments,while teachers used AI to simplify complex concepts and create diverse materials,enhancing instructional strategies like flipped classrooms.Individualistic nature of AI-based learning could reduce collaboration,limiting students’understanding of environmental science and social dimensions.Overreliance on AI also hindered hands-on fieldwork,essential for practical skills and adaptability,while causing strong trust in AI-generated results,weakening critical evaluation and data collection abilities.These findings highlight the need for an optimized integration of AI with collaborative activities,field experiences,and critical thinking to ensure a comprehensive environmental science education. 展开更多

在教育部师范专业认证的背景下,课程需要用“学生中心、产出导向、持续改进”三大基本理念进行评价与改革,在这三大理念下进行数据挖掘,分析课程是否达到了认证要求。采用数值分析、分类分析、关联分析等方法对“自然地理学”课程分“... 在教育部师范专业认证的背景下,课程需要用“学生中心、产出导向、持续改进”三大基本理念进行评价与改革,在这三大理念下进行数据挖掘,分析课程是否达到了认证要求。采用数值分析、分类分析、关联分析等方法对“自然地理学”课程分“学生中心、产出导向、持续改进”三个系列进行数据挖掘,结果表明:数据挖掘取得了良好的效果,清晰体现了“自然地理学”课程在师范专业认证三大理念上的表现,也挖掘出“产出导向”理念方面缺少能力目标的达成、“学生中心”理念方面学生对课程效果评价不高等问题。能力目标的达成是接下来课程改革的重点和难点,可以通过加强挑战性学习来实现能力目标的达成;而要实现以学生为中心并提高学习效果,课堂与测试的难度不宜过大。 展开更多
