This study introduces a real-time data-driven battery management scheme designed to address uncertainties in load and generation forecasts,which are integral to an optimal energy storage control system.By expanding on an existing algorithm,this study resolves issues discovered during implementation and addresses previously overlooked concerns,resulting in significant enhancements in both performance and reliability.The refined real-time control scheme is integrated with a day-ahead optimization engine and forecast model,which is utilized for illustrative simulations to highlight its potential efficacy on a real site.Furthermore,a comprehensive comparison with the original formulation was conducted to cover all possible scenarios.This analysis validated the operational effectiveness of the scheme and provided a detailed evaluation of the improvements and expected behavior of the control system.Incorrect or improper adjustments to mitigate forecast uncertainties can result in suboptimal energy management,significant financial losses and penalties,and potential contract violations.The revised algorithm optimizes the operation of the battery system in real time and safeguards its state of health by limiting the charging/discharging cycles and enforcing adherence to contractual agreements.These advancements yield a reliable and efficient real-time correction algorithm for optimal site management,designed as an independent white box that can be integrated with any day-ahead optimization control system. 展开更多

Effect of Controlled Atmosphere Storage(CAS)Technology of Flue-cured Tobacco Laminas on the Alcoholization Quality of Tobacco

To achieve the continuous maintainence of optimum quality state of flue- cured tobacco laminas and the effective regulation and control on alcoholization time for controlled atmosphere storage (CAS) method in the process of storage, the lam- ina samples of natural alcoholization for 1 year were selected. Comparable analysis on the appearance quality, chemical components and sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco laminas in the process of alcoholization was carried out by using the meth- ods of CAS and natural alcoholization. The results showed that appearance and color through the treatment of natural alcoholization were deep, browning and ac- companied by the phenomenon of oil, while color scale of flue-cured tobacco lami- nas through the treatment of CAS was uniform, fullness was better, and these two methods were close or identical after opening for 3 months. The contents of total sugar and reducing sugar during the process of alcoholization were also gradually decreased, but the ratio of reducing sugar to total sugar of laminas via CAS was higher than that of the natural alcoholization treatment. Compared with the natural alcoholization,the descending trends of total nitrogen and nicotine contents during CAS were gentler, the ratio via CAS was closer to 1, and the coordination of chemical components was more superior. During the period of alcoholization for 6 to 12 months, sensory quality of laminas via the natural alcoholization treatment was more superior than that of CAS treatment. However, after 18 months of alcoholiza- tion, sensory quality of laminas via the CAS treatment was more superior than that of the natural alcoholization treatment, and the CAS treatment could improve opti- mum sensory quality by 0.5 to 1.5 scores. Additionally, the CAS treatment could prolong the time of optimum alcoholization quality for 6 months, compared with the treatment of natural alcoholization. The CAS method could influence the alcohoJiza- tion quality of flue-cured tobacco laminas and prolong the retention period of opti- mum quality status for flue-cured tobacco laminas by regulating the environmental aas composition, thereby realizin.q quality control of flue-cured tobacco laminas. 展开更多

The effects of controlled freezing-point storage on the postharvest quality of satsuma mandarin

Present study introduced a controlled freezing-point storage(CFPS)technique for the postharvest storage of satsuma mandarin(Citrus unshiu Marc.cv.Miyagawa Wase),with the environment temperature of−2℃ during the whole storage period.The postharvest loss and quality changes of satsuma mandarin were investigated.according to the results,CFPS completely prevented fruit decay in the 90 days storage and the following shelf period without causing fruit chilling injury.in comparison,the decay rate of fruit stored at 10℃ increased with the elongation of storage time,and reach to 6.67%after 90 days storage,then further increased to 33.33%after transferring to the shelf.CFPS significantly reduced the incidences of calyx browning,completely prevented fruit puffing,alleviated the decreases of citric acid,fructose and glucose in the long-term storage and the following shelf life of satsuma mandarin,compared with the 10℃ storage.but CFPS alleviated the postharvest rind color development of satsuma mandarin,leading to paler rind color compared to the 10℃ storage group.both 10℃ storage and CFPS group showed significant decrease of total aroma volatiles contents in the pulp after more than two months’storage.but most of the volatiles,including all of the monoterpenes and aliphatic alcohols,as well as part of the monoterpenes derivatives and aliphatic aldehydes,rebound after being transferred to the 20℃ shelf,with the extent much higher in 10℃ storage group than that in CFPS group.in the shelf-life,the total volatile content of the 10℃ storage group was about 2 fold that of the newly-harvested fruit,but the volatiles of the CFPS group were more similar to the newly-harvested fruit in content and composition.Correspondingly,the consumer’s sensory evaluation results showed that the fruit of CFPS group was slightly sourer and with better typical mandarin flavor than those stored at 10℃.Comprehensively,CFPS was applicable in reducing the postharvest loss and alleviating quality deterioration in the long-term storage of satsuma mandarin. 展开更多

The storage and controlled release of singlet oxygen(^(1)O_(2))have attracted increasing attention due to the wide application and microsecond lifetime of^(1)O_(2)in water.Herein we provide an integrated nanoplatform consisting of a diphenylanthracene derivative,a water-soluble pillar[5]arene and a photosensitizer tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)porphyrin(TPP),that may provide the controlled generation,storage and release of singlet oxygen.We design a new diphenylanthracene derivative with two trimethylammonium bromide groups on both ends that can be well recognized by the pillar[5]arene.The formed nanocarriers can be used to load TPP through their supramolecular self-assembly.The resulting nanoparticles show good water-solubility and uniform spherical morphology.After laser irradiation(660 nm),the nanoparticles exhibit excellent ability for the generation and storage of^(1)O_(2).When the irradiated nanoparticles are heated above 80°C,^(1)O_(2)can be released from the system.Therefore,in this paper we pioneer the use of noncovalent interaction to integrate the diphenylanthracene derivatives and photosensitizers into one functional system,which provides a new strategy for the controlled generation,storage and release of singlet oxygen.We believe this groundbreaking strategy will have a great potential in providing necessary amounts of^(1)O_(2)for the photodynamic therapy of tumors in dark. 展开更多

Barhi dates at Khalal maturity stage are well-known with their pleasant taste,crispy texture,and bright yellow color.It is necessary to extend the duration of Barhi Khalal stage which is too short for effective marketing.This study aimed to inspect the effects of Gibberellic Acid(GA_(3))and Salicylic Acid(SA)postharvest treatments on retaining the high quality of Khalal Barhi fruits during controlled atmosphere storage.Fresh samples of Barhi fruits at Khalal stage harvested at three different ripening levels were dipped after harvesting in GA3(150 ppm)or SA(2.0 mmol/L)and subsequently stored in controlled atmosphere(0°С,5%O_(2),5%CO_(2),80%±5%RH).The results revealed that the GA_(3) and SA treatments reduced the percentage of weight loss and decay in the fruits,while the total soluble solids increased.Moreover,GA_(3) and SA treatments were significantly efficient in limiting the changes in fruit color and texture of Barhi dates compared to the control.Sensorial results support the experimental data and disclosed that the GA_(3)(150 ppm)treatment in the controlled atmosphere(CA)storage was better in conserving the quality of Barhi at the Khalal maturity stage and delaying ripening process. 展开更多

Barhi is a high-quality date cultivar,typically harvested and consumed fresh at the Khalal maturity stage when the fruits are crispy and sweet with bright yellow color.The shelf-life of the Khalal stage(2-3 weeks)is very short for effective marketing.This study aimed at investigating the role of calcium chloride(CaCl2)and salicylic acid(SA)as pre-storage treatments in preserving the color and texture of the fruit during both cold and controlled atmosphere(CA)storage systems.Fresh-harvested Barhi fruits at the Khalal stage were treated with CaCl2(2%)or SA(2.0 mM),and then stored in cold and CA systems.The weight loss and decay percentages in the treated samples decreased,whereas the total soluble solids of the treated samples increased compared with those of the untreated ones.The best treatment in limiting changes in the color and texture of the fruits was CaCl2 treatment during CA storage. 展开更多

Energy access,climate change and public health issues are some major drivers for the need for renewable sources.However,most renewable sources,excluding large hydro,have zero or negligible rotational inertia,which is critical to stabilizing the power system after contingency.Therefore,this paper proposes a droop-based inertia emulator to reduce the rate of change of frequency and frequency deviations.The robustness of the controller is analysed by applying various uncertainties and disturbances of power system components that were carried out using DIgSILENT PowerFactory simulations.The obtained results are compared with existing literature and the desired performance shows an improvement in the rate of change of frequency of 34.78%for an IEEE 6-bus system,24.32%for a 12-bus system and 18%for a 39-bus system. 展开更多
