Many studies have shown that the pathogenesis of primary headache is associated with fine structural or functional changes. However, these studies were mainly based on migraine. The present study aimed to investigate whether TTH patients show functional disturbances compared with healthy subjects. We used restingstate functional magnetic resonance imaging(f MRI) and regional homogeneity(Re Ho) analysis to identify changes in the local synchronization of spontaneous activity in patients with TTH. Ten patients with TTH and 10 age-, gender-, and education-matched healthy controls participated in the study. After demographic and clinical characteristics were acquired, a 3.0-T MRI system was used to obtain restingstate f MRIs. Compared with healthy controls, the TTH group exhibited significantly lower Re Ho values in the bilateral caudate nucleus, the precuneus, the putamen, the left middle frontal gyrus, and the superior frontal gyrus. There was no correlation between mean Re Ho values in TTH patients and duration of TTH, number of attacks, duration of daily attacks, Visual Analogue Scale score, or Headache Impact Test-6 score. These results suggest that TTHpatients exhibit reduced synchronization of neuronal activity in multiple regions involved in the integration and processing of pain signals. 展开更多

After the atom cavity interaction and detection of the atomic state the cavity modes may evolve to a superposition of two-mode coherent states. As the scheme is based on resonant atom-cavity interaction, the required interaction time is short, which is important in view of the decoherence. A closed-loop linguistic dynamic intervention model for psychological health state is built. Objective: To investigate the effect of acupuncture on high hemagglutination state, blood sugar raising hormone and immunocyte factor levels in type II diabetes patients. Methods: A total of 120 inpatients and outpatients were randomly divided into acupuncture plus medication group (n=52) and medication group (n=50). In addition, 18 type II diabetes patients formed acupuncture group for comparing their therapeutic effects. Main acupoints used were Pishu (BL 20), Geshu (BL 17), Yishu, Shenshu (BL 23), Zusanli (ST 36), Sanyinjiao (SP 6), etc.. combined with other acupoints according to different sydroms. These acupoints were stimulated by manipulaing the filiform needles with uniform reinforcing and reducing method for 15 min and then stimulated electrically for 15 min with an electroacupuncture therapeutic apparatus. Western medicines used were Glipizide, Dimethyldiguanide Hydrochloride, etc.. The treatment was given once daily, with 10 sessions being a therapeutic course, 2~3 courses altogether. Indexes of external thrombosis length (ETL), platelet agglutination rate (PAgR), fibrinogen (FG), activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), fasting blood glucose (FBG), prothrombin time(PT), adrenocoticortropic hormone (ACTH), cortisol (CS), growth hormone (GH), glucagon (GL), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF α), interleukin 6 (IL 6), insulin (INS) and C peptide (C P) were determined using radioimmunoassay. Results: After 2~3 courses of treatment, both acupuncture group and medication plus acupuncture group could significantly improve high hemagglutination state, lower blood sugar raising hormone level, regulate immunocyte factor level and raise the sensitivity of insulin, which were apparently superior to those of medication group (P<0.05~0.01). Conclusion: Acupuncture therapy can effectively regulate plasma blood sugar raising hormone, immunocyte factor levels, increase the sensitivity of insulin to target cells, resist blood coagulation and improve microcirculation. 展开更多

The evolution of a system state is derived based on the nonresonant interaction of a three-level "Λ" type atom with two cavity modes at a pair coherent state and two classic fields,and a cavity field state is analyzed in detail under conditional detecting.It is found that the quantized modified Bessel-Gaussian states as well as the superposition states consisting of the quantized vortex states with different weighted coefficients may be prepared through carefully preparing an initial atomic state and appropriately adjusting the interaction time.The scheme provides an additional choice to realize the two-mode quantized vortex state within the context of cavity quantum electrodynamics(QED). 展开更多

Through adjusting the laser pulse power density,the efficiency of second-order parametric down-conversion is enhanced. The intensity of the spin-1 state is 0.5/s. The fidelity of the state is up to F=0.891±0.002,and the contrast is C=17.3. The results provide a new method for Stern-Gerlach measurement on the spin-1 system. 展开更多

The positron annihilation lifetimes and the Doppler broadening by slow positron beam are measured in thin Fe films with thickness 500 nm, a thin Hf film with thickness 100 nm, and the bilayer Fe (50 nm)/Hf (50 nm) on quartz glass substrate. We have analyzed the behavior in vacancy-type defects in each layer through some deposition temperatures and annealing. It is observed that the thin Fe film, the thin Hf film, and the bilayer Fe (50 nm)/Hf (50 nm) already contain many vacancy-type defects. We have investigated the change of densities of the vacancy-carbon complex and the small vacancy-cluster with carbons, through solid-state amorphization of Fe (50 nm)/Hf (50 nm) bilayer. 展开更多

Social determinants of type 2 diabetes and health in the United States

Diabetes is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. To date, most research and resulting clinical strategies have focused on the individual with shortterm health improvements that have not been maintained over time. Researchers more recently have recognized the need to consider the social determinants of diabetes and health along with individual factors. The purpose of this literature review is to examine current understanding of the social determinants affecting diabetes and health. A search of medical and nursing literature was conducted using PubMed, PsychInfo, CINAHL and MEDLINE databases, selecting articles published between 2000 and 2013. Search terms included: type 2 diabetes, social determinants, and health determinants. Inclusion criteria were: English language, human studies, social determinants of diabetes and health, and research in the United States. Additional search methods included reference chaining of the literature. Twenty research articles met the inclusion criteria for the review and analysis and included quantitative and qualitative methods. All studies selected for this review were descriptive in nature(n = 20). Fifteen studies were quantitative studies and five were qualitative studies. No intervention studies met inclusion criteria. Each study is summarized and critiqued. Study findings indicate that external or upstream factors consistentlyaffect individuals diagnosed with diabetes, influencing self-management. Significant methodological limitations result directly from small sample sizes, convenience or nonprobability sampling, and low statistical power. 展开更多

抑郁状态人群中医体质分布特征

目的调查并分析抑郁状态人群的中医体质分布特征。方法通过发放网络问卷的方法,使用《中医体质量表(简易版)》《9项患者健康问题抑郁量表(PHQ-9)》进行调查,调查人群年龄为18~60岁成年自然人群,中医体质类型与抑郁程度相关性采用Spearma... 目的调查并分析抑郁状态人群的中医体质分布特征。方法通过发放网络问卷的方法,使用《中医体质量表(简易版)》《9项患者健康问题抑郁量表(PHQ-9)》进行调查,调查人群年龄为18~60岁成年自然人群,中医体质类型与抑郁程度相关性采用Spearman相关系数分析。结果本研究共收集1010份调查问卷,删除297份无效问卷,最终纳入有效问卷713份,男162人,女551人;其中抑郁状态517人(72.51%),无抑郁状态196人(27.49%)。18~30岁、31~40人群抑郁状态占比均高于无抑郁状态(P<0.05),女性抑郁状态占比高于男性(P<0.05)。抑郁状态人群体质类型主要为阳虚质113人(21.86%)、气郁质109人(21.08%)、平和质83人(16.05%)。轻度及中度抑郁状态常见的偏颇体质为阳虚质、气郁质,中重度及重度以气郁质为主。相关性分析显示,中医体质类型与抑郁程度相关系数排在前3位是血瘀质(r=0.513,P=0.015)、气郁质(r=0.504,P=0.000)和湿热质(r=0.457,P=0.003),且均呈正相关(P<0.05)。结论抑郁症好发于青年人群,女性患病率高于男性。抑郁状态人群主要体质类型为阳虚质、气郁质,血瘀质和气郁质与抑郁状态程度均呈正相关,改善偏颇体质可以有效防治抑郁,特别是血瘀质和气郁质。轻中度抑郁状态主要为阳虚质,提示调理阳虚质有助于抑郁症的早期防治。 展开更多
