Methods The insomnia patients conforming to the diagnostic criteria were included into the study of ＂f...Objective To observe the clinical efficacy of acupuncture at ＂five spirits acupoints＂ in treatment of insomnia. Methods The insomnia patients conforming to the diagnostic criteria were included into the study of ＂five spirits acupoints＂, and statistical analysis was conducted over the 65 patients who completed the courses of treatment. Shéntíng（神庭 GV 24）, Běnshén（本神 GB 13）, Sìshéncōng（四神聪 EX-HN 1）, Shéndào（神道 GV 11） and Shénmén（神门 HT 7） were selected. Manipulation： perpendicular insertion was conducted at GV 11 and HT 7, and transverse insertion was conducted at GV 24, GB 13 and EX-HN 1, with the acupuncture depth of 10–15 mm. Even reinforcing and reducing method was applied. Needles were retained at all the selected acupoints, except GV 11, for 25 min. The treatment was conducted every other day, and treatment for 10 times was considered as one course of treatment. After one course, the changes of PSQI, the time to fall asleep, sleep time and soporific dosage were observed before and after treatment. Results According to the comparison before and after treatment, the mean deviation of PSQI, the time to fall asleep, sleep time and soporific dosage were 10.02±1.75,（0.7±0.5） h,（2.1±1.5） h and（10.3±2.5） mg, respectively, all P〈0.05, and the differences were all significant. Conclusion Acupuncture at ＂five spirits acupoints＂ in treatment of insomnia can improve patients’ sleep quality, shorten the time to fall asleep, prolong the actual sleep time, and reduce soporific dosage. With few acupoints selected, superficial needling and small stimulation, acupuncture at ＂five spirits acupoints＂ has better efficacy and is easy to be accepted by patients.展开更多

Alcohol was classed as carcinogen to human by IARC. We have performed in vivo and in vitro studies which demonstrate that diluted ethanol promotes cell proliferation and transformation and tumor formation. Consumption of liquor spirits (white wines) is a popular behavior. However, it is unclear whether liquor spirits affect cellular phenotypes of human cancers. At present study, we used diluted ethanol and liquor spirits (Sample #1 and Sample #2) to determine the changes in RNA polymerase III-dependent gene (Pol III gene) transcription, cell growth and colony formation in the different human cancer lines. The results indicate that low concentration of ethanol increases RNA Pol III gene transcription and rate of cell growth. However, both liquor spirits (Sample #1 and Sample #2) inhibit the activity of RNA Pol III genes and repress cell proliferation of the cancer lines, compared to diluted ethanol. The liquor spirits reduce the rate of colony formation of human breast cancer cells and esophageal carcinoma cells. The inhibitions of the liquor spirits to RNA Pol III genes, cell growth and colony formation are in a dose-dependent manner. These new findings suggest that the liquor spirits contain some active components to repress Pol III gene transcription and cell growth caused by ethanol in different human cancer cells.展开更多

Applying computer technology to the field of food safety,and how to identify liquor quickly and accurately,is of vital importance and has become a research focus.In this paper,sparse principal component analysis(SPCA)...Applying computer technology to the field of food safety,and how to identify liquor quickly and accurately,is of vital importance and has become a research focus.In this paper,sparse principal component analysis(SPCA)was applied to seek sparse factors of the mid-infrared(MIR)spectra of five famous vintage year Chinese spirits.The results showed while meeting the maximum explained variance,23 sparse principal components(PCs)were selected as features in a support vector machine(SVM)model,which obtained a 97%classification accuracy.By comparison principal component analysis(PCA)selected 10 PCs as features but only achieved an 83%classification accuracy.Although both approaches were better than a direct SVM approach based on the classification results(64%classification accuracy),they also demonstrated the importance of extracting sparse PCs,which captured most important information.The combination of computer technology SPCA and MIR provides a new and convenient method for liquor identification in food safety.展开更多

Folin-phenol method is handled to extract and to determine the reducing ability of extraction. The total phenolic content in the most suitable condition is determinated by the Folin-phenol method and the optimum extraction technological condition of total phenol is determinated by the experiment. The experimental results show that the optimization conditions of the determination methods of total phenolic content are determined by 3.5 mL for the Folin phenol reagent, 1:1 for the 10% Na2CO3 ratio and 30 min for the chromogenic reaction at room temperature. The optimum extraction technological condition of total phenol from lees is as following: solid-liquid ratio 1:12, ethanol concentration 100%, extraction temperature 80℃, extraction time 10 h.展开更多

The purpose of this qualitative inquiry is to explore Jesus Christ's teachings through the lens of the Spiritism Doctrine(SD),a relatively novel Christian religion.Further,SD literature is fundamentally rooted in ...The purpose of this qualitative inquiry is to explore Jesus Christ's teachings through the lens of the Spiritism Doctrine(SD),a relatively novel Christian religion.Further,SD literature is fundamentally rooted in the faith in the hereafter;the spirits'messages and teachings through mediums;Jesus Christ's teachings(the Gospel)as well as His behavior as a role model that must be followed by all human beings;and the practice of charity.Overall,the findings showed a rich body of knowledge,teachings,and lessons aiming to help the spiritual progress of humankind.That is,it was identified three larger themes,i.e.,mankind,who is Jesus,and His legacy,which shape a theoretical contribution of Jesus Christ's spiritual legacy in our lives.Jesus Christ carried out an authentic work-applied management through which He conveyed a new vision and superior values that continue inspiring us to change the way we think and behave.Furthermore,Jesus Christ's life and message may certainly help us handle the sensitive situations that may affect our lives on the planet,including the way our organizations and institutions are run as well as our professional careers are approached by inspiring new paths and wisdom behavior.展开更多
