In the classical Newtonian mechanics, the gravity fields of static thin loop and double spheres are two simple but foundational problems. However, in the Einstein’s theory of gravity, they are not simple. In fact, we do not know their solutions up to now. Based on the coordinate transformations of the Kerr and the Kerr-Newman solutions of the Einstein’s equation of gravity field with axial symmetry, the gravity fields of static thin loop and double spheres are obtained. The results indicate that, no matter how much the mass and density are, there are singularities at the central point of thin loop and the contact point of double spheres. What is more, the singularities are completely exposed in vacuum. Space near the surfaces of thin loop and spheres are highly curved, although the gravity fields are very weak. These results are inconsistent with practical experience and completely impossible. By reasonable analogy, black holes with singularity in cosmology and astrophysics are something illusive. Caused by the mathematical description of curved space-time, they do not exist in real world actually. If there are black holes in the universe, they can only be the types of the Newtonian black holes without singularities, rather than the Einstein’s singularity black holes. In order to escape the puzzle of singularity thoroughly, the description of gravity should return to the traditional form of dynamics in flat space. The renormalization of gravity and the unified description of four basic interactions may be possible only based on the frame of flat space-time. Otherwise, theses problems can not be solved forever. Physicists should have a clear understanding about this problem. 展开更多

Various efficient generalized sphere decoding (GSD) algorithms have been proposed to approach optimal ML performance for underdetermined linear systems, by transforming the original problem into the full-column-rank one so that standard SD can be fully applied. However, their design parameters are heuristically set based on observation or the possibility of an ill-conditioned transformed matrix can affect their searching efficiency. This paper presents a better transformation to alleviate the ill-conditioned structure and provides a systematic approach to select design parameters for various GSD algorithms in order to high efficiency. Simulation results on the searching performance confirm that the proposed techniques can provide significant improvement. 展开更多

One of them is thought to be the concept of “family caring” aimed at families. This study attempts to clarify family caring and develop Family Care/ Caring Theory (FCCT), with the aim of implementing it in conjunction with an existing family nursing theory, the Concentric Sphere Family Environment Theory (CSFET). In Japan and in Hong Kong, family ethnography (including formal interviews) was conducted. As a result, the item “family health care nurses and their colleagues” was added to the family external environment of the CSFET. In the family environment, evidence was obtained to the effect that the family system unit is cared for by the nursing professional, and conversely the family system unit cares for the nursing professional, in a circular transaction. Observing the two-dimensional plane formed by the structural distance and functional distance, family caring assumes a structure of concentric circles, and according to transactions, the structural distance and functional distance between the nursing professional and family system unit are gradually approached, and through deepening of mutual trust maintain an appropriate distance. Moreover observing the three-dimensional space-time continuum which is created through addition of the temporal distance, family caring forms a helical structure. As transactions are repeated along the temporal axis, the family system unit’s self-actualization of other individuals and the self-actualization of the nursing professional are realized. Through these processes, a family care/caring relationship is reinforced and established. This is the concept of FCCT. Through future utilization in clinical settings this will be empirically substantiated, and it will be necessary to continue making creative corrections and revisions. 展开更多

The equation of state(EOS) for hard-sphere fluid derived from compressibility routes of Percus-Yevick theory(PYC) is extended. The two parameters are determined by fitting well-known virial coefficients of pure fluid. The extended cubic EOS can be directly extended to multi-component mixtures, merely demanding the EOS of mixtures also is cubic and combining two physical conditions for the radial distribution functions at contact(RDFC) of mixtures. The calculated virial coefficients of pure fluid and predicted compressibility factors and RDFC for both pure fluid and mixtures are excellent as compared with the simulation data. The values of RDFC for mixtures with extremely large size ratio 10 are far better than the BGHLL expressions in literature. 展开更多

In this study, flower-like mesoporous TiO_2 hierarchical spheres(FMTHSs) with ordered stratified structure and TiO_2 nanoparticles(TNPs) were synthesized via a facile solvothermal route and an etching reaction. Multilamellar vesicles(MTSVs) and unilamellar TiO_2/SiO_2 vesicles(UTSVs) were prepared using cetyltrimethylammonium bromide and didodecyldimethylammonium bromide as structure-directing agents under different solvothermal conditions. FMTHSs and TNPs were obtained from the etching reactions of MTSVs and UTSVs, respectively, in an alkaline system. FMTHSs display flower-like, ordered stratified structures on each petal. The thickness of the ordered stratified structure is approximately3–6 nm, and the number of layers is approximately 2–4. The FMTHSs2 electrode exhibits the first discharge capacity of 212.4 m A h g^(-1) at 0.2 C, which is higher than that of TNPs electrode(167.6 mA h g^(-1)).The discharge specific capacity of FMTHSs2 electrode after 200 cycles at 1 C is 105.9 mA h g^(-1), which is higher than that of TNPs electrode(52.2 mA h g^(-1)) after the same number of cycles. The outstanding performance of FMTHSs2 electrode is attributed to the advantages of FMTHSs. In particular, their own stratified structure can provide additional active sites for reactions. The hierarchical structure can provide short diffusion length for Li^+, large electrolyte–electrode contact area, and superior accommodation of the strain of Li+intercalation/deintercalation. 展开更多

Torsional vibrations of coated hollow poroelastic spheres are studied employing Biot’s theory of wave propagation in poroelastic solid. The dilatations of solid and liquid media are zero, therefore the frequency equation of torsional vibrations is same both for a permeable and an impermeable surface. The coated poroelastic sphere consists of an inner hollow poroelastic sphere bounded by and bonded to a sphere made of distinct poroelastic material. The inner sphere is designated as core and outer sphere as casing. Core and casing are bonded at the curved surfaces. The inner and outer boundaries of the coated hollow poroelastic sphere are free from stress and at the interface of core and casing the displacement and stresses are continuous. It is assumed that the each material of coated sphere is homogeneous and isotropic. The frequency equation of torsional vibrations of a coated poroelastic hollow sphere is obtained when the material of the core vanishes. Also a coated poroelastic solid sphere is obtained as the limiting case of the frequency equation of coated hollow poroelastic sphere when the inner radius of core approaches to zero. Non-dimensional frequency as a function of ratio of thickness of core to that of inner radius of core is determined and analyzed. It is observed that the frequency and dispersion increase with the increase of the thickness of the coating. 展开更多

The magnetic hollow silica spheres (MHSS) with uniform cavity size and shell thickness were prepared by a simple and “green” method using functionalized SiO2 spheres as templates. Magnetic particles (Fe3O4) were deposited on the SiO2 surface by varying the molar ratio of [Fe2+]/[Fe3+] and the molar concentration of iron salts. The obtained magnetic hollow silica spheres exhibited a super-paramagnetic behavior at room temperature. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and X-ray powder scattering (XRD) were applied to characterize the MHSS. Besides, their unit cell parameters are calculated according to results indexing to XRD, the MHSS sample prepared at 0.10 M iron salts and 2:1 molar ratio of [Fe2+]/[Fe3+] has a largest cell angle (β) of unit cell. Due to large hollow cavity space and super-paramagnetic characteristics, the inner amino-functionalized MHSS could be labeled with radioisotope 99Tcm to study the MHSS’s magnetic targeting distribution in vivo. These results indicate that the MHSS has potential in the magnetic targeted drug delivery system which reduces the damage to normal cells and improves the therapeutic effect of cancer. 展开更多

Porous carbon microspheres are widely regarded as a superior CO_(2) adsorbent due to their exceptional efficiency and affordability. However, better adsorption performance is very attractive for porous carbon microspheres. And modification of the pore structure is one of the effective strategies. In this study,multi-cavity mesoporous carbon microspheres were successfully synthesized by the synergistic method of soft and hard templates, during which a phenolic resin with superior thermal stability was employed as the carbon precursor and a mixture of silica sol and F108 as the mesoporous template.Carbon microspheres with multi-cavity mesoporous structures were prepared, and all the samples showed highly even mesopores, with diameters around 12 nm.The diameter of these microspheres decreased from 396.8 nm to about 182.5 nm with the increase of silica sol. After CO_(2) activation, these novel carbon microspheres(APCF0.5-S1.75)demonstrated high specific surface area(983.3 m^(2)/g)and remarkable CO_(2) uptake of 4.93 mmol/g at 0℃ and1 bar. This could be attributed to the unique multi-cavity structure, which offers uniform mesoporous pore channels, minimal CO_(2) transport of and a greater number of active sites for CO_(2) adsorption. 展开更多

The precise inner solutions of gravity field equations of hollow and solid spheres are calculated in this paper. To avoid space curvature infinite at the center of solid sphere, we set an integral constant to be zero directly at present. However, according to the theory of differential equation, the integral constant should be determined by the known boundary conditions of spherical surface, in stead of the metric at the spherical center. By considering that fact that the volumes of three dimensional hollow and solid spheres in curved space are different from that in flat space, the integral constants are proved to be nonzero. The results indicate that no matter what the masses and densities of hollow sphere and solid sphere are, there exist space-time singularities at the centers of hollow sphere and solid spheres. Meanwhile, the intensity of pressure at the center point of solid sphere can not be infinite. That is to say, the material can not collapse towards the center of so-called black hole. At the center and its neighboring region of solid sphere, pressure intensities become negative values. There may be a region for hollow sphere in which pressure intensities may become negative values too. The common hollow and solid spheres in daily live can not have such impenetrable characteristics. The results only indicate that the singularity black holes predicated by general relativity are caused by the descriptive method of curved space-time actually. If black holes exist really in the universe, they can only be the Newtonian black holes, not the Einstein’s black holes. The results revealed in the paper are consistent with the Hawking theorem of singularity actually. They can be considered as the practical examples of the theorem. 展开更多

In this paper, we reduced the governing equation describing the one-dimensional granular crystals of elastic spheres to a continuous equation by small deformation and long wave approximation. Then, the G’/G-expansion method is applied to this continuous equation, and the exact solitary wave solutions with arbitrary parameters are obtained. Compared with other papers, the solutions obtained in this paper are more extensive and contains more parameters. The simultaneous existence of exact solitary wave solutions can help us study the propagation of shock waves in one-dimensional granular crystals of elastic spheres. At the same time, it has important theoretical significance in nondestructive testing with non-linear wave. 展开更多

Exploring efficient and nonprecious metal electrocatalysts of oxygen reduction reaction(ORR)and oxygen evolution reaction(OER)is crucial for developing rechargeable zinc-air batteries(ZABs).Herein,an alloying-degree control strategy was employed to fabricate nitrogen-doped carbon sphere(NCS)decorated with dual-phase Co/Co_(7)Fe_(3)heterojunctions(CoFe@NCS).The phase composition of materials has been adjusted by controlling the alloying degree. The optimal CoFe_(0.08)@NCS electrocatalyst displays a half-wave potential of 0.80 V for ORR and an overpotential of 283 mV at 10 mA·cm^(-2)for OER in an alkaline electrolyte. The intriguing bifunctional electrocatalytic activity and durability is attributed to the hierarchically porous structure and interfacial electron coupling of highly-active Co_(7)Fe_(3)alloy and metallic Co species. When the CoFe_(0.08)@NCS material is used as air-cathode catalyst of rechargeable liquid-state zinc-air battery(ZAB),the device shows a high peak power-density(157 mW·cm^(-2))and maintains a stable voltage gap over 150 h,outperforming those of the benchmark(Pt/C+RuO_(2))-based device. In particular, the as-fabricated solid-state flexible ZAB delivers a reliable compatibility under different bending conditions. Our work provides a promising strategy to develop metal/alloy-based electrocatalysts for the application in renewable energy conversion technologies. 展开更多

This article presents the findings of a study of the spheres of urban influence with regard to all cities in China(not including Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan Province of China)in the years 1990,2000 and 2009.An optimized gravity model with comprehensive time distance was used to carry out a detailed analysis of the spatial patterns of Chinese spheres of urban influence and the spatial characteristics of urban agglomerations.Such urban agglomerations are characterized by high density population and a developed economy, which are also considered as the national competition unit. This paper initially identifies four spatial patterns of urban agglomerations based on the spatial layout of city groups during their evolution. Some basic characteristics of urban agglomerations are outlined, including the number of cities, the size of cities and the functions of urban centers. These characteristics are examined by using statistical methods and Geographic Information System(GIS).The main findings from this research are that the development stages and structures of urban agglomerations in China vary significantly. It is also clear that the stages and evolution of spatial patterns are strongly affected and dominated by both policy and location factors. 展开更多

Micro structures of equal sphere packing (ranging from loose to dense packing) generated numerically by discrete element method under different vibration conditions are characterized using Voronoi/Delaunay tessellation, which is applied on a wide range of packing densities. The analysis on micro properties such as the total perimeter, surface area, and the face number distribution of each Voronoi polyhedron, and the pore size distribution in each Voronoi/Delaunay subunit is systematically carried out. The results show that with the increasing density of sphere packing, the Voronoi//Delaunay pore size distribution is narrowed. That indicates large pores to be gradually substituted by small uniformed ones during densification. Meanwhile, the distributions of face number, total per/meter, and surface area of Voronoi polyhedra at high packing densities tend to be narrower and higher, which is in good agreement with those in random loose packing. 展开更多

Using linear water wave theory,three-dimensional problems concerning the interaction of waves with spherical structures in a fluid which contains a three-layer fluid consisting of a layer of finite depth bounded above by freshwater of finite depth with free surface and below by an infinite layer of water of greater density are considered. In such a situation timeharmonic waves with a given frequency can propagate with three wavenumbers. The sphere is submerged in either of the three layers. Each problem is reduced to an infinite system of linear equations by employing the method of multipoles and the system of equations is solved numerically by standard technique. The hydrodynamic forces(vertical and horizontal forces)are obtained and depicted graphically against the wavenumber. When the density ratio of the upper and middle layer is made to approximately one, curves for vertical and horizontal forces almost coincide with the corresponding curves for the case of a two-layer fluid with a free surface. This means that in the limit, the density ratio of the upper and middle layer goes to approximately one,the solution agrees with the solution for the case of a two-layer fluid with a free surface. 展开更多

The present study considers a finite element analysis of elastic-plastic axi-symmetric hemispherical contact for a frictionless deformable sphere pressed by a rigid flat. The material of the sphere is modeled as elastic perfectly plastic. Analysis is carried out to study the effect of varying modulus of elasticity and sphere radius in wide range of dimensionless interference until the inception of plasticity as well as in plastic range. Results are compared with previous elastic-plastic models. It is found that materials with Young’s modulus to yield strength (E/Y) ratio less than and greater than 300 show strikingly different contact phenomena. The dependency of E on dimensionless interference at which the plastic region fully covers the surface is observed. However with different radius, finite element study exhibits similar elastic-plastic phenomena. 展开更多
