The word“spatial”fundamentally relates to human existence, evolution, and activity in terrestrial and even celestial spaces. After reviewing the spatial features of many areas, the paper describes basics of high level model and technology called Spatial Grasp for dealing with large distributed systems, which can provide spatial vision, awareness, management, control, and even consciousness. The technology description includes its key Spatial Grasp Language(SGL),self-evolution of recursive SGL scenarios, and implementation of SGL interpreter converting distributed networked systems into powerful spatial engines.Examples of typical spatial scenarios in SGL include finding shortest path tree and shortest path between network nodes, collecting proper information throughout the whole world, elimination of multiple targets by intelligent teams of chasers, and withstanding cyber attacks in distributed networked systems. Also this paper compares Spatial Grasp model with traditional algorithms, confirming universality of the former for any spatial systems, while the latter just tools for concrete applications. 展开更多

The novel The Rise and Fall of Wing Shing Street delves into the reality of Hong Kong residents deeply attuned to spatial awareness but detached from temporal significance, entangling emotions surrounding time and space.Through narrative interruption and extension, the author portrays the genuine struggles of Hong Kong inhabitants-juxtaposing the blurred boundaries of time and space and the inherent rootlessness of reality within a fictionalized framework.Emphasizing the 20th-century human condition, wherein spatial awareness overshadows temporal understanding, the novel underscores the consequences:a loss of history and cultural identity. With a fresh perspective, the narrative explores the interplay of time and space, accentuating both the fictitious and authentic dimensions. This prompts readers to reconsider their history, culture, and the current moment, ultimately highlighting the pivotal role of temporal awareness. 展开更多

A new algorithm called spatially aware routing algorithm with enhanced learning (SAREL) is proposed to guarantee the rationality of route selecting in inter-vehicle communication scenario. Firstly, the traffic model is discussed and set up by using Poisson distribution. Then we analyze the process of traffic evaluation with enhanced learning, and exploit movement estimation to assist state memorization. The improvement of algorithm is provided at last compared with our previous work. Simulation results show that SAREL algorithm could achieve better performance in packet delivery ratio, especially when network connection ratio is average. There is a critical need to develop a means for fast,task-driven discovery of geospatial data found in geoportals.Existing geoportals, however, only provide metadata-based means for discovery, with little support for task-driven discovery, especially when considering spatial–temporal awareness. To address this gap, this paper presents a Case-Based Reasoning-supported Geospatial Data Discovery(CBR-GDD)method and implementation that accesses geospatial data by tasks. The advantages of the CBR-GDD approach is that it builds an analogue reasoning process that provides an internal mechanism bridging tasks and geospatial data with spatial–temporal awareness, thus providing solutions based on past tasks. The CBR-GDD approach includes a set of algorithms that were successfully implemented via three components as an extension of geoportals:ontology-enhanced knowledge base, similarity assessment model, and case retrieval nets.A set of experiments and case studies validate the CBR-GDD approach and application, and demonstrate its efficiency. 展开更多

Immersive visualization has become an important tool for discovering hidden patterns and obtaining insights from data.Target acquisition in immersive visualization is a fundamental step in visual analysis. However, limited visual encoding attributes and the presence of stacking and occlusion in immersive environments pose challenges in discovering valuable targets and making unambiguous selections. In this paper,we present ClayVolume,an interactive system designed for immersive visualization. It comprises metaphorical tools for customizing regions of interest(ROIs)and multiple views that serve as interactive and analytical mediums.ClayVolume empowers analysts to efficiently acquire valuable targets through a progressive refinement of interactive methods, enabling further extraction of insights. We evaluate ClayVolume in the scenario of immersive visualization of network data and perform a comparative analysis of its performance against other techniques in target selection tasks. The results indicate that ClayVolume enables flexible target selection in immersive visualization and provides fast target discovery and localization capabilities. 展开更多
