With the increase of energy consumption worldwide in several domains such as industry,education,and transportation,several technologies played an influential role in energy conservation such as the Internet of Things(IoT).In this article,we describe the design and implementation of an IoT-based energy conser-vation smart classroom system that contributes to energy conservation in the edu-cation domain.The proposed system not only allows the user to access and control IoT devices(e.g.,lights,projectors,and air conditions)in real-time,it also has the capability to aggregate the estimated energy consumption of an IoT device,the smart classroom,and the building based on the energy consumption and cost model that we propose.Moreover,the proposed model aggregates the estimated energy cost according to the Saudi Electricity Company(SEC)rates.Furthermore,the model aggregates in real-time the estimated energy conservation percentage and estimated money-saving percentage compared to data collected when the system wasn't used.The feasibility and benefits of our system have been validated on a real-world scenario which is a classroom in the college of computer science and engineering,Taibah University,Yanbu branch.The results of the experimental studies are promising in energy conservation and cost-saving when using our proposed system. 展开更多

Facing the information age,college teachers need to innovate teaching methods constantly and realize student-centered teaching reform.This paper takes the“Agile estimation”teaching unit of“Software Project Management”as the research object,and carries out the teaching process design and application of BOPPPS model based on smart classroom according to the teaching purpose and content of the teaching unit.In teaching practice,multi-dimensional blended teaching mode is adopted and a variety of teaching methods are used to realize the teaching loop from online to offline and then to online.The results show that the teaching mode enhances students’learning enthusiasm,enhances students’participation and subjective initiative,and effectively improves the teaching effect of the course. 展开更多

It is a bold attempt to combine the Internet with the offline classroom in depth, use the smart learning platform, combine online teaching with big data analysis, and use the smart classroom teaching mode to teach economics courses. In this paper, the construction of smart classroom teaching model for economics courses is analyzed in the early stage. Through questionnaires, the students' learning status and teaching model status are investigated, and the feasibility of the implementation of smart classroom teaching model is analyzed from both theoretical and practical perspectives. The results show that the implementation of smart classroom teaching model in economics course of Xinjiang Agricultural University is necessary and has good subjective and objective basis and feasibility, which provides the basis and basis for the construction of new teaching model. 展开更多

With the advancement of science and technology as well as the rapid development of next generation information technologies,such as big data and artificial intelligence,smart classrooms have emerged as the times have demanded.Adopting innovative teaching modes in smart classrooms allows the realization of various teaching techniques that cannot be achieved in traditional classrooms.Especially for some courses in medical schools,due to changes in the medical environment and the improvement of patients’awareness of medical rights and interests,the traditional teaching methods are becoming more restricted.For example,in clinical surgery,due to the increasing number of medical students in recent years and requirements for strict aseptic principle adherence in operating rooms,practical teaching has encountered great restrictions,thus preventing it from meeting the needs of students.In order to solve this problem,this research constructs a smart classroom teaching model for surgical practice teaching based on hardware equipment,such as smart classrooms,interconnected surgical mobile broadcast equipment,and intelligent medical simulators.Through this teaching model,the teaching effect and quality are further analyzed,laying a foundation for smart teaching in future medical courses. 展开更多

A Comparative Study on Teacher-student Interaction in Middle School English Classrooms under the Environment of Traditional and Smart Classrooms

The teacher-student interaction is the key to the English classroom teaching. Under the environment of “Smart Earth”, the interaction between teachers and students in junior middle school English classes has been innovated in form and degree. Based on specific examples, this paper makes a comparative study of the teacher-student interaction in junior middle school English classrooms under the traditional classroom environment and the smart classroom environment from three aspects: the “quantity”, the “dimension” and the “quality” of the interaction between teachers and students. It is found that the interaction between teachers and students in the smart classroom environment is more effective than that in the traditional classroom environment. In the smart classroom environment, teachers can accurately grasp the learning situation of students through timely feedback system, adjust the teaching design at any time, improve the “quantity” of interaction, expand the “dimension”of interaction, and improve the “quality” of teaching and learning. 展开更多

The Learning Effectiveness of Smart Classrooms:A Meta-Analysis of 48 Empirical Studies

As an important teaching method in the era of education informatization 2.0,the smart classroom has become a hot topic in terms of whether it can really improve students’learning effectiveness.Many scholars have carried out empirical studies in this field,but the conclusions are not the same.By the use of meta-analysis,this study quantitatively analyzes 48 experimental and quasi-experimental studies in China and other countries to explore the smart classroom’s effect and influencing factors.The results show that,on the whole,the smart classroom has a better-than-average promotion effect on students’learning effectiveness;from the perspective of moderating variables,the learning outcome of smart classrooms is influenced by the factors of learning stage,knowledge type,teaching cycle,class scale,and equipment condition,but is not moderated by the factors of subject,teaching strategy,and evaluation tool.Specifically,smart classrooms can become a suitable partner for large-class teaching,short-term courses,and experimental courses.However,the misuse of technology and equipment should be avoided in the application process. 展开更多

Education digitalization is an inevitable trend of technological development.Based on the theories related to smart classrooms,this research constructs a“3+5”teaching model and implements a mixed methods research in Jinshan Elementary School in Chongqing.The“3”in the name refers to three stages of teaching,namely before,during,and after class.The“5”in the name refers to five links of teaching,namely prediction,fine-tuning,detailed explanation,intensive support,and extension.Through questionnaire and interview,it is found that most students and teachers are very satisfied with the“3+5”teaching model.The model based on the iFLYTEK smart classroom can accurately locate students’learning situation,improve classroom efficiency,develop personalized learning plans,and provide data support for the digital transformation of primary school mathematics. 展开更多

智慧课堂环境下,教学视频的主题分割对于提升教学分析和内容组织效率具有重要意义.然而,现有主题分割方法在智慧课堂场景中面临自动语音识别(ASR)转录错误率高、课堂内容不连贯等挑战,导致分割效果不佳.针对上述挑战,提出了一种多模态... 智慧课堂环境下,教学视频的主题分割对于提升教学分析和内容组织效率具有重要意义.然而,现有主题分割方法在智慧课堂场景中面临自动语音识别(ASR)转录错误率高、课堂内容不连贯等挑战,导致分割效果不佳.针对上述挑战,提出了一种多模态智慧课堂主题分割模型.该模型首先使用ASR获取语音转录文本,同时设计了一种全新的动态OCR识别与相似度检测去重算法从视频帧中提取文本信息,有效减少冗余帧处理;随后将ASR文本和OCR文本分别送入文本编码器进行编码,采用多模态注意力机制融合两种模态特征;最后通过BiLSTM和MLP网络进行主题边界的预测.实验结果表明:文中提出的解决方法在智慧课堂领域内的准确性和扩展性优于基线方法,同时,提出的动态OCR识别与相似度检测去重算法减少了模型的处理时间,可以满足现实应用的要求. 展开更多

为解决传统YOLOv12模型存在的计算量大、内存访问开销过高及实时性欠佳等问题,本文提出一种借助部分卷积改进YOLOv12的方案。该方案的关键在于借助PConv的对特征图冗余信息的过滤功能,并通过自适应通道分配策略来动态调整不同网络层中... 为解决传统YOLOv12模型存在的计算量大、内存访问开销过高及实时性欠佳等问题,本文提出一种借助部分卷积改进YOLOv12的方案。该方案的关键在于借助PConv的对特征图冗余信息的过滤功能,并通过自适应通道分配策略来动态调整不同网络层中有效卷积通道的比例。实验结果表明,与YOLOv12模型相比,该方案在自制数据集上在保持检测精度的前提下,实现了FLOPs下降29.3%,MAC降低36.7%,可满足在低配设备中进行教室实时人数统计的需求,进而为智能教育管理提供切实有效的技术支撑,具有一定的应用价值。 展开更多
