Layer-structured Ruddlesden–Popper(RP)perovskites(RPPs)with decent stability have captured the imagination of the photovoltaic research community and bring hope for boosting the development of perovskite solar cell(PSC)technology.However,two-dimensional(2D)or quasi-2D RP PSCs are encountered with some challenges of the large exciton binding energy,blocked charge transport and poor film quality,which restrict their photovoltaic performance.Fortunately,these issues can be readily resolved by rationally designing spacer cations of RPPs.This review mainly focuses on how to design the molecular structures of organic spacers and aims to endow RPPs with outstanding photovoltaic applications.We firstly elucidated the important roles of organic spacers in impacting crystallization kinetics,charge transporting ability and stability of RPPs.Then we brought three aspects to attention for designing organic spacers.Finally,we presented the specific molecular structure design strategies for organic spacers of RPPs aiming to improve photovoltaic performance of RP PSCs.These proposed strategies in this review will provide new avenues to develop novel organic spacers for RPPs and advance the development of RPP photovoltaic technology for future applications. 展开更多

Impact of introducing custom-made articulating spacers:A retrospective cohort study on two protocols for two-stage hip revision

BACKGROUND Two-stage revision is the most common treatment for chronic periprosthetic joint infection of the hip,involving a resection arthroplasty with or without placement of an antibiotic-loaded spacer,followed by antibiotic therapy before reimplantation.AIM To compare the outcomes and complications of two consecutive treatment protocols for two-stage revision arthroplasty of the infected hip:One using Girdlestone with an antibiotic holiday,the other using custom-made articulating spacers(CUMARS)without an antibiotic holiday.METHODS In this retrospective study,two consecutive cohorts were compared.Group A(2017-2020)underwent two-stage revision with a Girdlestone and an antibiotic holiday before reimplantation,while Group B(2020-2023)received CUMARS whenever possible,and no antibiotic holiday,or a Girdlestone if indicated.The primary outcome was successful infection eradication after one year.Secondary outcomes included surgical duration,length of hospital stay,weight-bearing allowance,discharge destination,and complications.RESULTS A total of 98 patients were included:39 patients in Group A and 59 patients in Group B.Successful infection eradication after one year was achieved in 69%of Group A and 83%of Group B(P=0.164).Patients in Group B were more frequently allowed to bear weight(64%vs 18%,P<0.001),had a shorter in-hospital stay(9 vs 16 days,P<0.001),and were more often discharged home after the first surgery(48%vs 24%,P=0.048).No significant differences were found in(mechanical)complications.CONCLUSION A protocol including CUMARS is a safe and effective treatment,offering faster recovery,shorter length of hospital stay,and enabling more patients to return home during the interval.This reduces strain on patients and the healthcare system,potentially saving costs,without compromising infection control or increasing(mechanical)complications. 展开更多

Dion-Jacobson (DJ) phase hybrid perovskites have been proven to improve the photovoltaic performance of the devices due to its unique structure.At present,some DJ hybrid perovskites have been reported and used for photodetection filed,but most of them are based on lead-bromide systems,which is not conducive to construct broadband photodetection devices due to the limitation of intrinsic absorption.Herein,we constructed a bilayered DJ hybrid perovskite (3AMPY)(EA)Pb_(2)I_(7)(3AMPY^(2+)is 3-(aminomethyl)pyridinium,EA^(+)is ethylammonium) using an aromatic spacer,which exhibit large current on/off ratios of 10~4under 520 and 637 nm illumination.In particular,the single crystal device based on (3AMPY)(EA)Pb_(2)I_(7)shows a distinguished detectivity of 7.4×10^(12)Jones and a high responsivity of 0.89A/W under 637 nm illumination.Such finding not only enriches the quantities of DJ hybrid perovskites,but also provides useful assistance for constructing high-performance optoelectronic device in the future. 展开更多

Impact and Residual Flexural Properties of 3D Integrated Woven Spacer Composites

This study investigates the low-velocity impact and post-impact flexural properties of 3D integrated woven spacer composites,focusing on their orthotropic behavior when tested along two principal directions,i.e.,warp(X-type)and weft(Y-type)directions.The same composite material was tested in these orientations to evaluate the differences in impact resistance and residual bending strength.Specimens were fabricated via vacuum-assisted molding and tested at 2,3,5,and 7 J impact energies using an Instron Ceast 9350 drop-weight impact testing machine,in accordance with ASTM D7136.Post-impact flexural tests were performed using a four-point bending method in accordance with ASTM D7264.The absorbed energy increased from 1.97 to 6.98 J,and the panel damage area ranged from 121 to 361 mm^(2) as impact energy roses.Specimens tested in the weft direction(Y-type)showed greater residual strength(up to 15.83 N)and displacement(up to 0.538 mm)than those tested in the warp direction(X-type).Ultrasonic C-scan imaging revealed localized matrix cracking and fiber failure damage patterns.Results emphasize the directional differences in impact resistance and residual bending properties,highlighting the importance of material orientation in structural applications.This study provides a foundation for utilizing 3D woven spacer composites in lightweight,damage-tolerant structural components. 展开更多

Phonon coherence can reflect electron‒phonon coupling information and has been proven to modulate electronic states and charge transport.The manipulation of phonon coherence through spacer cation engineering in organic‒inorganic hybrid perovskites(OIHPs)has been extensively demonstrated;however,the underlying structural origin remains elusive at the molecular level.Herein,we present molecular structure and temperature-dependent coherent phonon studies via a combination of sum frequency generation vibrational spectroscopy(SFG-VS)and transient absorption spectroscopy(TAS).The conformational order of spacer cations dictates the coherent phonon oscillations in 2D OIHPs.Our study further analyzes the static order and dynamic disorder in 2D perovskites.This work provides molecular-level insights into the role of spacer cations in tuning structural order and may provide valuable guidance for advancing emergent optoelecltronics development. 展开更多

目的:本研究旨在获得血管性血友病因子裂解酶ADAMTS13中重组的spacer区蛋白,进一步探讨该区域对ADAMTS13功能发挥的作用。方法:以ADAMTS13全长质粒为模板,构建含spacer区基因序列的原核表达质粒,转染大肠杆菌,低温(30℃)IPTG诱导表达,... 目的:本研究旨在获得血管性血友病因子裂解酶ADAMTS13中重组的spacer区蛋白,进一步探讨该区域对ADAMTS13功能发挥的作用。方法:以ADAMTS13全长质粒为模板,构建含spacer区基因序列的原核表达质粒,转染大肠杆菌,低温(30℃)IPTG诱导表达,收集超声上清并鉴定。并大规模诱导表达,利用Ni-NTA琼脂糖柱,梯度咪唑淋洗法纯化蛋白,应用SDS-PAGE和Western blot法鉴定纯化产品纯度和免疫学活性。利用重组蛋白与免疫性调节的血栓性血小板减少性紫癜(iTTP)患者血浆孵育,检测血浆中ADAMTS13的活性变化。结果:成功构建能表达spacer区的原核表达质粒并能有效表达蛋白。Western blotting结果显示,抗6×His抗体和抗人ADAMTS13抗体(针对Gln34-Trp688)分别能与重组蛋白在15 kDa处显单一条带。功能实验表明,该重组蛋白能够有效逆转iTTP患者中被自身抗体抑制的ADAMTS13酶活性。结论:重组蛋白具有较好的免疫原活性和纯度,为进一步研究spacer区对iTTP的发病机理提供了实验依据。 展开更多

Phylogenetic relationships of Arundinaria and related genera (Pleioblastus, Pseudosasa, Oligostachyum, Bashania, Clavinodum, etc.) were assessed by analyzing the sequences of the nrDNA internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and the cpDNA trnL-F intergenic spacer (IGS). Comparison with trnL-F IGS sequence, the ITS region provided the higher number of parsimony informative characters, and the interspecific variation of the ITS sequence was higher than that of the trnL-F IGS sequence.The tree obtained by combining both sets of data showed that the species sampled in Arundinaria and the related genera were monophyletic and divided into two clades. The relationships and positioning of all the taxa surveryed (including A. oleosa, A. hsienchuensis, A. chino, A. amara, A. yixingensis, A. amabilis, A. fortunei, A. pygmaea, A. gramineus, A. fargesii, A. faberi, A. hupehense, Pseudosasa japonica cv. Tsutsumiana, P. japonica and Brachystachyum densiflorum) were also discussed. The results from the sequences were broadly consistent with morphological characters, appearing all these taxa sampled belong to the genus of Arundinaria. The topologies of the trees generated from individual data and the combined data were similar. 展开更多

In view of the inadequate cementing quality in the cementation for long isolation intervals ofoil and gas wells, and considering the field practice in Tarim Oilfield, a nanometer material LC-212 was introduced as the base stock to experimentally develop a new spacer system NMS-I, in combination with other materials, including a chemical gel plugging agent, carboxymethyl cellulose and barite. Experimental results indicated that the system had a wide adjustable range of density, good rheological property, static stability and compatibility with cement slurry. It also showed no flocculating or thickening effect on the water-base drilling fluid and low-density cement system. Meanwhile, the capacity of lost circulation control and the influence of the spacer on the second interfacial cementing strength were evaluated by a self-made lost circulation simulator and shearing test facility. The results showed that the spacer had favorable plugging and flushing effect, and the second interfacial cementing strength can be greatly improved. Moreover, based on the experiments, the mechanisms of spacer function were analyzed. The results obtained from the investigation offer a novel approach to resolving some practical problems in cementing jobs. 展开更多

Four gemini cationic surfactants {N,N′-di[2-(lauryldimethylamino)acetyl]polymethylenediamine dichloride, LAA-s-LAA, s=2,3,4,6} were synthesized by using four bis(α-chloroacetamide)s and N,N-dimethyllaurylamine, respectively. The molecular structures were characterized by means of IR, ~ 1H NMR, \{~ ~13 C NMR\} and MS, and the behavior of their aqueous solutions was studied. The critical micell concentrations(CMC) of LAA-s-LAA were one order of magnitude lower than that of dodecyltrimethyl ammonium chloride(DTAC). With the change of the length of spacer chain(s), their CMC values change, and CMC reaches the top value at s=4. 展开更多

A series of side chain liquid crystalline polymers (SCLCPs) containing triphenylene (Tp) units in the side chains, denoted as PMTS (without spacer) and PMTnS (n = 2, 3, 4, 6, which is the number of the methylene units between the main chain and Tp moieties in the side chains), with different lengths of spacers were synthesized through conventional free radical polymerization. The chemical structures of the monomers were confirmed by 1H/IaC-NMR, and the phase behaviors were examined by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarized optical microscopy (POM) and wide-angle X-ray diffraction (1D and 2D WAXD). The molecular characterization of the polymers was performed with 1H-NMR, gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The phase behaviors of the polymers have been investigated by a combination of techniques including DSC, POM, 1D and 2D WAXD. The results showed that the length of spacer has significant effects on the LC phase behavior of polymers. For PMTS and PMT2S, they displayed the columnar phase developed by the Tp moieties and the main chain as a whole due to the strong coupling effect of the Tp moieties and the main chain. For the PMT3S, PMT4S and PMT6S, they formed the symmetry hexagonal columnar (~n) phase owing to the decoupling effect. All of these indicated that the "decoupling effect" or "coupling effect" depended on the length of spacers, leading to the different LC phase formation mechanism. 展开更多

The first and second internal transcribed spacer(ITS1 and ITS2)regions of the ribosomal DNA from four species,Meretrix meretrix L.,Cyclina sinensis G,Mercenaria mercenaria L.,and Protothaca jedoensis L.,belonging to the family Veneridae were amplified by PCR and sequenced.The size of the ITS1 PCR amplification product ranged from 663 bp to 978 bp,with GC contents ranging from 60.78%to 64.97%.The size of the ITS1 sequence ranged from 585 bp to 900 bp,which is the largest range reported thus far in bivalve species,with GC contents ranging from 61.03%to 65.62%.The size of the ITS2 PCR amplification product ranged from 513 bp to 644 bp,with GC contents ranging from 61.29%to 62.73%.The size of the ITS2 sequence ranged from 281 bp to 412 bp,with CJC contents ranging from 65.21%to 67.87%.Extensive sequence variation and obvious length polymorphisms were noted for both regions in these species,and sequence similarity of ITS2 was higher than that of ITS 1 across species.The complete sequences of 5.8S ribosomal RNA gene were obtained by assembling ITS 1 and ITS2 sequences,and the sequence length in all species was 157 bp.The phylogenetic tree of Veneridae clams was reconstructed using ITS2-containing partial sequences of both 5.8S and 28S ribosomal DNA as markers and the corresponding sequence information in Arctica islandica as the outgroup.Tree topologies indicated that P jedoensis shared a close relationship with M.mercenaria and C sinensis,a distant relationship with other species. 展开更多

The phylogeny of Ptychostomum was first spacer (ITS) region of the nuclear ribosomal (nr) DNA DNA rps4 sequences. Maximum parsimony, maximum undertaken based on analysis of the internal transcribed and by combining data from nrDNA ITS and chloroplast likelihood, and Bayesian analyses all support the conclusion that the reinstated genus Ptychostomum is not monophyletic. Ptychostomum funkii (Schwagr.) J. R. Spence (≡ Bryum funkii Schwaigr.) is placed within a clade containing the type species of Bryum, B. argenteum Hedw. The remaining members of Ptychostomum investigated in the present study constitute another well-supported clade. The results are congruent with previous molecular analyses. On the basis of phylogenetic evidence, we agree with transferring B. amblyodon Mull. Hal. (≡ B. inclinatum (Brid.) Turton≡ Bryum archangelicum Bruch & Schimp.), Bryum lonchocaulon Mull. Hal., Bryum pallescens Schleich. ex Schwaigr., and Bryum pallens Sw. to Ptychostomum. 展开更多

The effect of flexible spacer length on the liquid crystalline property of ABA-type triblock copolymers containing azobenzene groups was investigated. For the study, the monomers, n-[4-(4-ethoxyphenylazo)phenoxy]alkyl methacrylates with varying methylene groups (n = 0, 2, 6) were used to synthesize a series of azobenzene-containing amphiphilic triblock copolymers PAnC–PEG–PAnC by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP). Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), polarizing optical microscopy (POM), and one-dimensional X-ray diffraction (1D WAXD) have shown that the glass transition temperatures of these copolymers decreased with increasing n, PA0C–PEG–PA0C has no mesophase, while both PA2C–PEG–PA2C and PA6C–PEG–PA6C have a nematic mesophase. These differences derive from the length of spacer groups between the polymer backbone and side-chain LC monomers. 展开更多

Spacer insulators are important insulating component of gas insulated switchgear(GIS). In order to analyze the influence of spacer insulator materials temperature characteristics on the electric performance, we tested the temperature distribution under work condition and the temperature characteristics of the material's relative permittivity. Then established a spacer insulator simulation model in finite element numerical simulation software to calculate its temperature and electric field. Using the temperature test results as a reference to verify the temperature calculation, and in order to analyze changes of the electric field along the surface of the spacer insulator, the temperature characteristics of relative permittivity have to be considered. Through the experimental research and simulation analysis, we found that the temperature characteristics of the spacer insulator materials have great impacts on the spacer insulator performance. When the temperature increases, the material relative permittivity also increases. In the low-temperature region of spacer insulator, the electric field intensity along the surface increases, so the electrical performance deteriorates. The conclusion of this paper can provide an important reference for further research about spacer insulator's working performance analysis. 展开更多

Radiotherapy is an established curative treatment method for prostate cancer. Optimal tumor control rates can only be achieved with high local doses,associated with a considerable risk of rectal toxicity. Apart from already widely adapted technical advances,as intensitymodulated radiation therapy,the application of spacers placed between the prostate and rectum has been increasingly used in the last years. Biodegradable spacers,including hydrogel,hyaluronic acid,collagen or an implantable balloon,can be injected or inserted in a short procedure under transrectal ultrasound guidance via a transperineal approach. A distance of about 1.0-1.5 cm is usually achieved between the rectum and prostate,excluding the rectal wall from the high isodoses. Several studies have shown well tolerated injection procedures and treatments. Apart from considerable reduction of rectal irradiation,a prospective randomized trial demonstrated a reduction of rectal toxicity after hydrogel injection in men undergoing prostate image-guided intensity-modulated radiation therapy. The results are encouraging for continuing evaluation in dose escalation,hypofractionation,stereotactic radiotherapy or re-irradiation trials in the future. 展开更多

China is currently the world's leading producer of Lentinula edodes and owns many cultivated strains of this species. This study was performed in order to investigate intergenic spacer I (IGS1) polymorphism and classification among 49 popular cultivated strains. The great majority of the 49 strains possessed two different IGS1 sequences, with distinct lengths and homologies. Based on the length and homology of the IGS1 sequences of the 49 strains, the strains were classified into two groups: A and B. Group A was subdivided into six subgroups. Forty-seven strains were homozygous or heterozygous among these six subgroups in group A, Cr01 was heterozygous between A and B, and Guangxiang 9 was homozygous in group B. An IGS1 polymorphism map of each cultivated L. edodes strain is reported for the first time and could be used as a marker for the initial classification and management of cultivated L. edodes strains in China. 展开更多

The exchange coupling at the ferromagnetic/antiferromagnetic (FM/AFM) interface is influenced by both the magnetic structure and the crystalline micro-structure. Co/FeMn/Co thin films with 0.4 nm Pt spacer layer inserted into the Co/FeMn and FeMn/Co interface respectively were deposited by means of magnetron sputtering. The two interfaces upon and beneath the FeMn layer show distinct behaviors before and after the Pt spacer inserted. There is a remarkable shrink of the interracial uncompensated spins within the FeMn bottom interracial monolayers, whereas a relaxation of the pinning strength of the FeMn interfacial spins along the out-of-plane direction occurs at the top in- terface. XRD analysis indicates the Pt layer upon the FeMn layer forms an fcc (002) texture, implying the magnetic discrepancy between the top and bottom FeMn interfaces has crystalline structural origins. 展开更多

Spacer grids play an important role in pressurized water reactor(PWR) fuel assembly in that they have significant influence on the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the reactor core.But so far,the numerical studies are performed without regarding dimple and spring of spacer grids,just considering mixing vane.Moreover,these studies use k-ε turbulence model without considering the suitability of the other turbulence models upon the different spacer grids flow.A study is carried out to understand the 3-D single-phase flow in AFA-2G 5×5 rod bundles with spacer grids based on numerical method.In order to investigate the suitability of different turbulence models,k-ε model and k-ω model,the influence of different parts of spacer grid on the fluid flow is also predicted.By using second-order upwind scheme,hybrid grids technique,and improved SIMPLEC algorithm,the Reynolds averaged mass conservation and momentum conservation equations are solved,and the pressure and velocity field of flow are obtained.The numerical simulation results are compared with experiment results and the agreement is satisfactory.The simulation results show the influences of the spring,dimple and mixing vane,and the different characteristics of the k-ε model and k-ω model.Comparing with the experiment results,the simulation results suggest that the k-ω model is suitable for the simulation of the rod bundle flow with spacer grids;the spring and dimple are the main causes of the pressure loss in the spacer grid channel.The friction coefficient of the channel with spring and dimple is 1.5 times the coefficient of the channel with the vane.These results are beneficial to enhance the simulation ability of spacer grids flow and optimization design ability of spaces grid. 展开更多
