Off-axis aspherical mirrors are widely used in optical systems and precision measuring instruments,whereas off-axis aspherical mirrors with large sizes and off-axis are used in large optical systems such as astronomic...Off-axis aspherical mirrors are widely used in optical systems and precision measuring instruments,whereas off-axis aspherical mirrors with large sizes and off-axis are used in large optical systems such as astronomical telescopes and radio telescopes.However,if the off-axis amount of an off-axis aspherical mirror exceeds the capability of the machine tool,traditional rotary-turning machining methods are not applicable,and advanced computerized numerical control(CNC)machining methods,such as the slow-tool-servo method,must be im-plemented.This article proposes a non-conventional offset(NCO)fabrication method based on slow-tool-servo single-point diamond turning for machining off-axis aspherical surfaces with large off-axis amounts.This method is theoretically applicable to the machining of off-axis aspherical surfaces with any off-axis amount.NCO fab-rication is a simpler and more efficient path-planning solution for machining individual off-axis parabolic sur-faces.In addition,corresponding solutions for other types of aspherical surfaces are proposed using the NCO method.The turning depths of workpieces with different off-axis amounts at the same machining position are analyzed and compared.A specific measurement scheme for the NCO method is presented,and the experimental results indicate that the PV and RMS form errors are 0.658μm and 60 nm,respectively.This work demonstrates that the NCO method can effectively deal with the machining challenges of off-axis aspherical structures with large off-axis amounts.展开更多

For carrier-based unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),one of the important problems is the design of an automatic carrier landing system(ACLS)that would enable the UAVs to accomplish autolanding on the aircraft carrier.How...For carrier-based unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs),one of the important problems is the design of an automatic carrier landing system(ACLS)that would enable the UAVs to accomplish autolanding on the aircraft carrier.However,due to the movements of the flight deck with six degree-of-freedom,the autolanding becomes sophisticated.To solve this problem,an accurate and effective ACLS is developed,which is composed of an optimal preview control based flight control system and a Kalman filter based deck motion predictor.The preview control fuses the future information of the reference glide slope to improve landing precision.The reference glide slope is normally a straight line.However,the deck motion will change the position of the ideal landing point,and tracking the ideal straight glide slope may cause landing failure.Therefore,the predictive deck motion information from the deck motion predictor is used to correct the reference glide slope,which decreases the dispersion around the desired landing point.Finally,simulations are carried out to verify the performance of the designed ACLS based on a nonlinear UAV model.展开更多

In the present study, a single-point mooring buoy system which contains surface buoy, cable segments with components...Deployment of buoy systems is one of the most important procedures for the operation of buoy system. In the present study, a single-point mooring buoy system which contains surface buoy, cable segments with components, anchor and so on is modeled by applying multi-body dynamics method. The motion equations are developed in discrete node description and fully Cartesian coordinates. Then numerical method is used to solve the ordinary differential equations and dynamics simulations are achieved while anchor is casting from board. The trajectories and velocities of different nodes without current and with current in buoy system are obtained. The transient tension force of each part of the cable is analyzed in the process of deployment. Numerical results indicate that the transient payload increases to a peak value when the anchor is touching the seabed and the maximum tension force will vary with different floating configuration. Carrier-based aircraft carrier landing is a special kind of tracking control problem and not suitable for classical control methods,which may miss the desired performance or result in overdesign.Therefore,we present a...Carrier-based aircraft carrier landing is a special kind of tracking control problem and not suitable for classical control methods,which may miss the desired performance or result in overdesign.Therefore,we present an optimal preview control for automatic carrier landing system(ACLS)by using state information of system,as well as future reference information,which can avoid the shortcomings of classical control methods.Since the flight performance of carrier-based aircraft is disturbed by air wake when the aircraft flies near the area of carrier stern,we design a disturbance rejection strategy to ensure that aircraft track the glide path with high precision and robustness.Further,carrier-based aircraft is a complex nonlinear system.However,the nonlinear model of carrier-based aircraft can be linearized at equilibrium landing state and decoupled into the longitudinal model and the lateral model.Therefore,an optimal preview control system is designed.The simulation results of a carrier-based aircraft show that the optimal preview control system can effectively suppress air wake.Tracking accuracy of optimal preview controller is higher than that of the proportional integral differential(PID)control system.展开更多
