This paper describes the bipolar field-effect transistor (BiFET) and its theory. Analytical solution is ob- tained from partitioning the two-dimensional transistor into two one-dimensional transistors. The analysis employs the parametric surface-electric-potential and the electrochemical (quasi-Fermi) potential-gradient driving force to compute the current. Output and transfer D. C. current and conductance versus voltage are presented over practi- cal ranges of terminal D. C. voltages and device parameters. Electron and hole surface channel currents are pres- ent simultaneously, a new feature which could provide circuit functions in one physical transistor such as the CMOS inverter and SRAM memory. 展开更多

Studies have indicated that the distributed compressed sensing based(DCSbased) channel estimation can decrease the length of the reference signals effectively. In block transmission, a unique word(UW) can be used as a cyclic prefix and reference signal. However, the DCS-based channel estimation requires diversity sequences instead of UW. In this paper, we proposed a novel method that employs a training sequence(TS) whose duration time is slightly longer than the maximum delay spread time. Based on proposed TS, the DCS approach perform perfectly in multipath channel estimation. Meanwhile, a cyclic prefix construct could be formed, which reduces the complexity of the frequency domain equalization(FDE) directly. Simulation results demonstrate that, by using the method of simultaneous orthogonal matching pursuit(SOMP), the required channel overhead has been reduced thanks to the proposed TS. 展开更多

This paper considers a widely used mixed effects model in repeated measures under het- eroscedasticity. Hypotheses of the equality of the fixed effects and the simultaneous confidence intervals for all pair-wise differences are discussed. A generalized F-test has been proposed to test the equality of the fixed effects in the model, but simulation results for evaluating its performance have not been shown in the literature. Moreover, the generalized F-test cannot be used to deduce the simultaneous confidence intervals for all pair-wise differences of the fixed effects. The authors propose two new p-values to test the hypotheses of equality of the fixed effects and simultaneous confidence intervals of the differences of the effects based on the generalized pivotal quantities derived in this paper. The authors also compare the empirical performances of the proposed tests and the generalized F-test. The type I error rates and powers of these tests are evaluated using the Monte Carlo simulation. The simulation studies show that the generalized F-test does not perform well in terms of type I error rate under various sample size and parameter combinations. However, the type I error probabilities of the proposed tests are always close to the nominal value. It can also be seen that the simultaneous confidence intervals perform well. 展开更多
