This study proposes a multi-scale simplified residual convolutional neural network(MS-SRCNN)for the precise prediction of Mg-Nd binary alloy compositions from scanning electron microscope(SEM)images.A multi-scale data structure is established by spatially aligning and stacking SEM images at different magnifications.The MS-SRCNN significantly reduces computational runtime by over 90%compared to traditional architectures like ResNet50,VGG16,and VGG19,without compromising prediction accuracy.The model demonstrates more excellent predictive performance,achieving a>5%increase in R^(2) compared to single-scale models.Furthermore,the MS-SRCNN exhibits robust composition prediction capability across other Mg-based binary alloys,including Mg-La,Mg-Sn,Mg-Ce,Mg-Sm,Mg-Ag,and Mg-Y,thereby emphasizing its generalization and extrapolation potential.This research establishes a non-destructive,microstructure-informed composition analysis framework,reduces characterization time compared to traditional experiment methods and provides insights into the composition-microstructure relationship in diverse material systems. 展开更多

High-Efficiency Green Phosphorescent Organic Light-Emitting Diode Based on Simplified Device Structures

A high-efficiency green phosphorescent organic light emitting diode with a simplified structure is achieved that is free of a hole transport layer. The design of this kind of device structure not only saves the consumption of organic materials but also greatly reduces the structural heterogeneities and effectively facilitates the charge injection into the emissive layer. The resulting green phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PHOLEDs) exhibit higher electroluminescent efficiency. The maximum external quantum efficiency and current efficiency reach 23.7% and 88 cd/A, respectively. Moreover the device demonstrates satisfactory stability, keeping 23.7% and 88cd/A, 22% and 82cd/A, respectively, at a luminance of 100 and 1000cd/m2. The working mechanism for achieving high efficiency based on such a simple device structure is discussed correspondingly. The improved charge carrier injection and transport balance are proved to prominently contribute to achieve the high efficiency and great stability at high luminance in the green PHOLEDs. 展开更多

Comparison of Simplified Intensity-Modulated Radiotherapy versus 3-Dimensional Conformal Radiotherapy in Locally Advanced Cervical Cancer: A Dosimetric Study

Background: Early research describing the concept of intensity-modulated conformal radiotherapy (IMRT) was based on 7 to 9 beams to reach an adequate level of modulation. Nevertheless, its implementation demands significant resources. Our objective was to compare the compliance and homogeneity of target dose distribution between simplified IMRT and 3D-CRT in patients with cervical cancer and to assess the clinical value of simplified IMRT. Materials and Methods: From 2016 to 2017, 17 patients with stage IIB - IIIC cervical cancer were treated with external beam radiotherapy using simplified IMRT (12 cases) or 3DCRT (05 cases) and brachytherapy. Prior to radiotherapy, CT scans were conducted to delineate the target volume. The clinical target volume (CTV) included the uterus, primary tumor, supravaginal portion of the cervix, paracervical tissue, common iliac, internal and external iliac lymph nodes, obturator, and pre sacral lymph nodes, and the surrounding tissues. If the lower vagina was involved, the target volume included the whole vagina. The planning target volume (PTV) included the CTV with 1 cm anteriorly and 0.5 cm in all other directions. The PTV received 95% of 45 Gy (1.8 Gy/25 fraction). Dose-volume histogram, conformity index, homogeneity index, and treatment time per fraction were compared. Results: The 3D-CRT plan was more homogeneous than the simplified IMRT plan, while the simplified IMRT plan was more conformal. The volume of small bowels that received high-dose radiation significantly increased with simplified IMRT compared to 3D-CRT. Treatment time per fraction was 6 and 13 minutes for 3D-CRT and simplified IMRT, respectively. Conclusion: The simplified IMRT treatment plan is technically and dosimetrically acceptable and an alternative to the classic 3D-CRT plan for cervical cancer. It provides better dose distribution than 3D-CRT. However, the 3D-CRT treatment plan significantly reduced the overall treatment time per fraction. 展开更多

The addition of cold flow improvers(CFIs)is considered as the optimum strategy to improve the cold flow properties(CFPs)of diesel fuels,but this strategy is always limited by the required large dosage.To obtain low-dosage and high-efficiency CFIs for diesel,1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalic anhydride(THPA)was introduced as a third and polar monomer to enhance the depressive effects of alkyl methacrylatetrans anethole copolymers(C_(14)MC-TA).The terpolymers of alkyl methacrylate-trans anethole-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalic anhydride(C_(14)MC-TA-THPA)were synthesized and compared with the binary copolymers of C_(14)MC-TA and alkyl methacrylate-1,2,3,6-tetrahydrophthalic anhydride(C_(14)MC-THPA).Results showed that C_(14)MC-THPA achieved the best depressive effects on the cold filter plugging point(CFPP)and solid point(SP)by 11℃and 16℃at a dosage of 1250 mg/L and monomer ratio of 6:1,while 1500mg/L C_(14)MC-TA(1:1)reached the optimal depressive effects on the CFPP and SP by 12℃and 18℃.THPA introduction significantly improved the depressive effects of C_(14)MC-TA.Lower dosages of C_(14)MCTA-THPA in diesel exerted better improvement effects on the CFPP and SP than that of C_(14)MC-TA and C_(14)MC-THPA.When the monomer ratio and dosage were 6:0.6:0.4 and 1000 mg/L,the improvement effect of C_(14)MC-TA-THPA on diesel reached the optimum level,and the CFPP and SP were reduced by 13℃and 19℃,respectively.A 3D nonlinear surface diagram fitted by a mathematical model was also used for the first time to better understand the relationships of monomer ratios,dosages,and depressive effects of CFIs in diesel.Surface analysis results showed that C_(14)MC-TA-THPA achieved the optimum depressive effects at a monomer ratio of 6:0.66:0.34 and dosage of 1000 mg/L,and the CFPP and SP decreased by 14℃ and 19℃,respectively.The predicted results were consistent with the actual ones.Additionally,the improvement mechanism of these copolymers in diesel was also explored. 展开更多

The authors constructed a simplified model of spring wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) carbon assimilation and dry matter accumulation (DMA) process which consisted of two independent variables, day length (L) and total daily radiation (TDR). Leaf water potential (Ψ) was incorporated into the simplified growth model based on the assumption that both light use efficiency (α) and CO 2 conductance of assimilation (g c) were depressed by water limitation. Finally,Ψ was estimated from a regression equation in which the independent variables were relative soil water content in the upper 80 cm (θ R,80 ), ambient temperature (T a), vapor pressure deficit (VPD), the cumulative leaf water potential below thresholds of -1.5 MPa (Ψ c,1.5 ). Some applications in research program of field experiment of atmosphere_land surface processes in Heihe River region were tested. The simulated data agreed well with the data observed at Linze oasis in 1989 for various levels of water supply and at Zhangye oasis in 1992 in the field. The analysis and simulation using the model demonstrated that the simplified growth model could describe very well the DMA process of spring wheat with and without water limitation in the region of HEIFE (Heihe field experiment). 展开更多

[Method] The research explored three methods of farmland prepara- tion, transplanting, and fertilization including shallow rotary tillage and deep ploughing, mechanical transplanting and hand transplanting, controlled-release fertilizer and quantitative fertilization in order to investigate effects of different treatment groups on rice characteristics, economic characteristics, as well as labor saving, yield increasing and profit improving. [Result] Rice increased by 596.4-809.55 kg/hm2, labor saving reached 120-135 per hm2, and profit improved in the range from 5 521.39 to 8 727.48 yuan/hm2 in the treatment groups by combinations of shallow rotary tillage, mechanical transplanting, and controlled-release fertilizer, of shallow rotary tillage, mechanical transplanting, and quantitative fertilization, and of deep ploughing, mechanical transplanting, and controlled release fertilizer. The high-efficiency planting mode for five crops a year of fresh edible "faba bean/spring maize+soybean-autumn maize/autumn soybean" was introduced, and its yield and economic benefits were compared with the planting mode of three crops a year of "faba bean-spring maize/red bean". The results showed that the planting method for fresh edible "faba bean/spring maize+soybean-autumn maize/autumn soybean" was much easier to operate with the input-output ratio of about185.6%, and its yield and economic benefits were 2.09 and 1.83 times of that of the planting mode for three crops a year, significantly improving the agricultural yield and income of farmers. In addition, the cropping index of the planting mode for fresh edible fresh edible "faba bean/spring maize +soybean-autumn maize/autumn soybean" reached up to 350%, and planting faba bean once a year and soybean twice a year could make the biological fixation amount of nitrogen increase 350-450kg/m^2, which equaled to up to 700 kg/m^2 of urea, showing significant ecological and social benefits. Based on the comparison results, the high-yield culture techniques of the planting mode of fresh edible "faba bean/spring maize+soybean-autumn maize/autumn soybean" were summarized. 展开更多

In recent years, precast segmental concrete bridge columns became prevalent because of the benefits of accelerated construction, low environmental impact, high quality and low life cycle costs. The lack of a detailed configuration and appropriate design procedure to ensure a comparable performance with monolithic construction has impeded this structural system from being widely used in areas of high seismicity. In this study, precast segmental bridge column cyclic loading tests were conducted to investigate the performance of unbonded post-tensioned segmental bridge columns. One monolithic and two precast segmental columns were tested. The preeast segmental column exhibited minor damage and small residual displacement after the maximum 7% cyclic drift; energy dissipation (ED) can be enhanced byadding ED bars. The experimental results were modeled by a simplified pushover method (SPOM), as well as a fiber model (FIBM) finite element method. Forty-five cases of columns with different aspect ratios, axial load ratios and ED bar ratios were analyzed with the SPOM and FIBM, respectively. Using these parametric results, a simplified design method was suggested by regressive analysis. Satisfactory correlation was found between the experimental results and the simplified design method for preeast segmental columns with different design parameters. 展开更多

Scale effect of ISWs loads on Floating Production Storage and Offloading(FPSO) is studied in this paper. The application conditions of KdV, eKdV and MCC ISWs theories are used in the numerical method. The depthaveraged velocities induced by ISWs are used for the velocity-inlet boundary. Three scale ratio numerical models λ=1, 20 and 300 were selected, which the scale ratio is the size ratio of numerical models to the experimental model.The comparisons between the numerical and former experimental results are performed to verify the feasibility of numerical method. The comparisons between the numerical and simplified theoretical results are performed to discuss the applicability of the simplified theoretical model summarized from the load experiments. Firstly, the numerical results of λ=1 numerical model showed a good agreement with former experimental and simplified theoretical results. It is feasible to simulate the ISWs loads on FPSO by the numerical method. Secondly, the comparisons between the results of three scale ratio numerical models and experimental results indicated that the scale ratios have more significant influence on the experimental horizontal forces than the vertical forces. The scale effect of horizontal forces mainly results from the different viscosity effects associated with the model’s dimension.Finally, through the comparisons between the numerical and simplified theoretical results for three scale ratio models, the simplified theoretical model of the pressure difference and friction forces exerted by ISWs on FPSO is applied for large-scale or full-scale FPSO. 展开更多

In this study, simplified numerical models are developed to analyze the soil-structure interaction (SSI) effect on frame structures equipped with viscoelastic dampers (VEDs) based on pile group foundation. First, a single degree-of- freedom (SDOF) oscillator is successfully utilized to replace the SDOF energy dissipated structure considering the SSI effect. The equivalent period and damping ratio of the system are obtained through analogical analysis using the frequency transfer function with adoption of the modal strain energy (MSE) technique. Aparametric analysis is carried out to study the SSI effect on the performance of VEDs. Then the equilibrium equations of the multi degree-of-freedom (MDOF) structure with VEDs considering SSI effect are established in the frequency domain. Based on the assumption that the superstructure of the coupled system possesses the classical normal mode, the MDOF superstructure is decoupled to a set of individual SDOF systems resting on a rigid foundation with adoption of the MSE technique through formula derivation. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed methods have the advantage of reducing computational cost, however, retaining the satisfactory accuracy. The numerical method proposed herein can provide a fast evaluation of the efficiency of VEDs considering the SSI effect. 展开更多

The compensation volume can be dispersed for easy calculation. According to the characteristics of deepwater top tensioned risers, a simplified model is presented to predict the multi-modal response of vortex-induced vibration (VIV) in non-uniform flow based on energy equilibrium theory and the exporimental data from VIV self-excited and forced oscillations of rigid cylinders. The response amplitude of each mode is determined by a balance between the energy fed into the riser over the lock-in regions and the energy dissipated by the fluid damping over the remainders. Compared with the previous prediction models, this method can take fully account of the intrinsic nature of VIV for low mass ratio structures on lock-in regions, added mass and nonlinear fluid damping effect, etc. Moreover, it is the first time to propose the accurate calculating procedure for VIV amplitude correction factor by solving energy equilibrium equation and a closed form solution is presented for the case of a riser of uniform mass and cross-section oscillating in a uniform flow. The predicted values show a reasonable agreement with VIV experiments of riser models in stepped and sheared currents. 展开更多
