The ship impact forces are statistically analyzed with the Monte-Carlo method according to the known probability distribution types of random variables.Based on the simulated results, the distribution of ship impact forces which is characterized by bimodal distribution can be expressed as the combining probability density function of beta distribution and normal distribution. The corresponding parameters of the probability density function can be estimated with the maximum likelihood method. The results show that ship impact forces on light wharf structures follow the distribution of type I extreme value. The mean coefficient and variation coefficient are 1.11 and 0.008 respectively during 50 years of design reference period.展开更多

The planning problem was formulated as an optimization problem where the expected lifetime costs were minimized with a constraint on the minimum acceptable reliability index. The safety margins were established for the inspection events, the repair events and the failure events for ship structures. Moreover, the formulae were derived to calculate failure probabilities and repair probabilities. Based on them, a component subjected to corrosion is investigated for illustration of the process of selecting the optimal inspection and repair strategy. Furthermore, some sensitivity studies were provided. The results show that the optimal inspection instants should take place before the reliability index reaches the minimum acceptable reliability index. The optimal target failure probability is 10 -3 . In addition, a balance can be achieved between the risk cost and total expected inspection and repair costs by means of the risk-based optimal inspection and repair method, which is very effective in selecting the optimal inspection and repair strategy.展开更多

This paper aims to propose a cost-benefit assessment model of risk-based inspection and repair planning for ship structures subjected to corrosion deterioration. Then, the benefit-cost ratio is taken to be an index for the selection of the optimal inspection and repair strategy. The planning problem is formulated as an optimization problem where the benefit-cost ratio for the expected lifetime is maximized with a constraint on the minimum acceptalbe reliability index. To account for the effect of corrosion model uncertainty on the cost-benefit assessment, two corrosion models, namgly, Paik' s model and Guedes Soares' model, are adopted for analysis. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the proposed method. Sensitivity studies are also providet. The results indicate that the proposed method of risk-based cost-benefit analysis can effectively integrate the economy with reliability of the inspection and repair planning. A balance can be achieved between the risk cost and total expected inspection and repair costs with the proposed method, which is very. effective in selecting the optimal inspection and repair strategy. It is pointed out that the corrosion model uncertainty and parametric uncertaintg have a significant impact on the cost-benefit assessment of inspection and repair planning.展开更多

文摘This study selected the Sino-US route data from the top 30 global container liner companies between December 1,2019,and December 29,2019,as the data source utilizing the complex network research methodology. It constructs a Sino-US container shipping network through voyage weighting and analyzes the essential structural characteristics to explore the network’s complex structural fea-tures.The network’s evolution is examined from three perspectives, namely, time, space, and event influence, aiming to comprehens-ively explore the network’s evolution mechanism. The results revealed that:1)the weighted Sino-US container shipping network exhib-its small-world and scale-free properties.Key hub ports in the United States include NEW YORK NY,SAVANNAH GA,LOS ANGELES CA,and OAKLAND CA,whereas SHANGHAI serving as the hub port in China. The geographical distribution of these hub ports is uneven.2)Concerning the evolution of the weighted Sino-US container shipping network, from a temporal perspective, the evolution of the regional structure of the entire Sino-US region and the Inland United States is in a stage of radiative expansion and de-velopment,with a need for further enhancement in competitiveness and development speed. The evolution of the regional structure of southern China and Europe is transitioning from the stage of radiative expansion and development to an advanced equilibrium stage. The shipping development in Northern China, the Western and Eastern United States, and Asia is undergoing significant changes but faces challenges of fierce competition and imbalances. From a spatial perspective, the rationality and effectiveness of the improved weighted Barrat-Barthelemy-Vespignani(BBV)model are confirmed through theoretical derivation. The applicability of the improved evolution model is verified by simulating the evolution of the weighted Sino-US container shipping network. From an event impact per-spective,the Corona Virus Disease 2019(COVID-19)pandemic has not fundamentally affected the spatial pattern of the weighted Sino-US container shipping network but has significantly impacted the network’s connectivity. The network lacks sufficient resilience and stability in emergency situations.3)Based on the analysis of the structural characteristics and evolution of the weighted Sino-US con-tainer shipping network, recommendations for network development are proposed from three aspects:emphasizing the development of hub ports, focusing on the balanced development of the network, and optimizing the layout of Chinese ports.

文摘Researchers have achieved notable advancements over the years in exploring ship damage and stability resulting from underwater explosions(UNDEX).However, numerous challenges and open questions remain in this field. In this study, the research progress of UNDEX load is first reviewed, which covers the explosion load during the shock wave and bubble pulsation stages.Subsequently, the research progress of ship damage caused by UNDEX is reviewed from two aspects:contact explosion and noncontact explosion. Finally, the research progress of ship navigation stability caused by UNDEX is reviewed from three aspects:natural factors, ship’s internal factors, and explosion factors.Analysis reveals that most existing research has focused on the damage to displacement ships caused by UNDEX.Meanwhile, less attention has been paid to the damage and stability of non-displacement ships caused by UNDEX,which are worthy of discussion.

文摘Ships experience rolling motion under the action of sea waves and may even face the risk of capsizing.Anti-rolling devices are designed to reduce this motion and enhance vessel safety. This is especially critical for engineering ships operating at sea under zero-speed conditions, where a stable posture is essential for efficient performance.Gyro stabilizers can suppress roll motion at zero speed;however, their high cost typically makes them unsuitable for large civilian vessels.Additionally, most existing anti-rolling devices rely on a certain water speed to function, which results in increased drag.In this study,an anti-rolling system incorporating swing control is proposed.Inspired by the human body's ability to maintain balance by swinging arms during walking or running, the system generates an antirolling moment by oscillating a water tank. This approach operates independently of water speed and does not generate additional drag. The mechanical design of the anti-rolling system is introduced, and a corresponding control system model is derived. The swing-tank mechanism provides phase lead compensation and reduces the system's sensitivity to wave disturbances. To enhance performance, robust control techniques are applied.Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed anti-rolling system delivers effective roll reduction for ships.
