The paper presents a design scheme ...The world trend in ship automation is to integrate the monitoring, intelligent control and systematic management of the instruments and equipments both on bridge and in engine room. The paper presents a design scheme of the ship integrated monitoring and operating system based on two layers distributed and redundant computer network. The lower layer network is the field bus network connected mainly by CAN bus; the upper one is the PC local network in TCP/IP protocol, which consisted of a database server, monitoring and operating computers, industrial computers and a set of switches. Distributed schemes are fully applied to both software and hardware. This paper specifically describes the composition, software distribution and redundant technology of the upper local network and gives some important sample codes for the implement of the redundant and distributed design. The technologies here have been proved in the many applications and it may be applied to other industrial fields.展开更多
Most applied time series are non-stationary,or exhibit some kind of non-stationarity for at least parts of the time series.For time series analyses or mathematical modeling purposes,the non-stationarities can be diffi...Most applied time series are non-stationary,or exhibit some kind of non-stationarity for at least parts of the time series.For time series analyses or mathematical modeling purposes,the non-stationarities can be difficult to handle.Therefore,identification of stationary and non-stationary behavior is of great practical interest in time series analysis.In this study a robust and computationally efficient method to identify steady state parts of time series data is presented.The method is based on the class of deterministic trend models using a sliding window,and is focused towards being easy to implement,efficient and practical in use and to preserve data completeness.To demonstrate the performance of the steady state identifier,the method is applied on different sets of time series data from two ships equipped with systems for in-service monitoring.The method is shown to be reliable and practical for identifying steady state parts of time series data,and can serve as a practical preprocessing tool for time series data analysis.展开更多
The construction of the double-lane five-step ship lock of the Three Gorges Project (TGP) wascommenced in 1994, the excavation of the ship lock was completed by the end of 1999, and the ship lockwas put in operation...The construction of the double-lane five-step ship lock of the Three Gorges Project (TGP) wascommenced in 1994, the excavation of the ship lock was completed by the end of 1999, and the ship lockwas put in operation in June 2003. The side slopes of the ship lock are characterized by great height(170 m), steepness (70 m in height of upright slope), and great length (over 7000 m in total length). Inassociation with the ship lock, the surrounding rocks in slope have a high potential to deform, withwhich the magnitude of deformation is restricted. Monitoring results show that the deformation of thefive-step ship lock high slopes of the TGP primarily occurred in excavation period, and deformationtended to be stable and convergent during operation period, suggesting the allowable ranges of deformation.At present, the slopes and lock chambers are stable, and the ship lock works well under normaloperation condition, enabling the social and economic benefits of the TGP. 2015 Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The aim of this research is to develop an algorithm and application that can perform real-time monitoring of the safety operation of offshore platforms and subsea gas pipelines as well as determine the need for ship i...The aim of this research is to develop an algorithm and application that can perform real-time monitoring of the safety operation of offshore platforms and subsea gas pipelines as well as determine the need for ship inspection using data obtained from automatic identification system(AIS).The research also focuses on the integration of shipping database,AIS data,and others to develop a prototype for designing a real-time monitoring system of offshore platforms and pipelines.A simple concept is used in the development of this prototype,which is achieved by using an overlaying map that outlines the coordinates of the offshore platform and subsea gas pipeline with the ship’s coordinates(longitude/latitude)as detected by AIS.Using such information,we can then build an early warning system(EWS)relayed through short message service(SMS),email,or other means when the ship enters the restricted and exclusion zone of platforms and pipelines.The ship inspection system is developed by combining several attributes.Then,decision analysis software is employed to prioritize the vessel’s four attributes,including ship age,ship type,classification,and flag state.Results show that the EWS can increase the safety level of offshore platforms and pipelines,as well as the efficient use of patrol boats in monitoring the safety of the facilities.Meanwhile,ship inspection enables the port to prioritize the ship to be inspected in accordance with the priority ranking inspection score.展开更多

Moreover, the observation capabilities have many existing problems, such as relatively outdated observation measures, simple observation parameters, and lack of observation data. Fundamentally speaking, the operation mechanism of VOSs lacks effective systematic assurance and protection. The implementation of the expert system for remote fault diagnosis in the ship lift was discussed, and the expert system developed was realized on the VPN virtual network.
