Human well-being and livelihoods depend on natural ecosystem services(ESs).Following the increment of population,ESs have been deteriorated over time.Ultimately,land use/land cover(LULC)changes have a profound impact ...Human well-being and livelihoods depend on natural ecosystem services(ESs).Following the increment of population,ESs have been deteriorated over time.Ultimately,land use/land cover(LULC)changes have a profound impact on the change of ecosystem.The primary goal of this study is to determine the impacts of LULC changes on ecosystem service values(ESVs)in the upper Gilgel Abbay watershed,Ethiopia.Changes in LULC types were studied using three Landsat images representing 1986,2003,and 2021.The Landsat images were classified using a supervised image classification technique in Earth Resources Data Analysis System(ERDAS)Imagine 2014.We classified ESs in this study into four categories(including provisioning,regulating,supporting,and cultural services)based on global ES classification scheme.The adjusted ESV coefficient benefit approach was employed to measure the impacts of LULC changes on ESVs.Five LULC types were identified in this study,including cultivated land,forest,shrubland,grassland,and water body.The result revealed that the area of cultivated land accounted for 64.50%,71.50%,and 61.50%of the total area in 1986,2003,and 2021,respectively.The percentage of the total area covered by forest was 9.50%,5.90%,and 14.80%in 1986,2003,and 2021,respectively.Result revealed that the total ESV decreased from 7.42×10^(7) to 6.44×10^(7) USD between 1986 and 2003.This is due to the expansion of cultivated land at the expense of forest and shrubland.However,the total ESV increased from 6.44×10^(7) to 7.76×10^(7) USD during 2003-2021,because of the increment of forest and shrubland.The expansion of cultivated land and the reductions of forest and shrubland reduced most individual ESs during 1986-2003.Nevertheless,the increase in forest and shrubland at the expense of cultivated land enhanced many ESs during 2003-2021.Therefore,the findings suggest that appropriate land use practices should be scaled-up to sustainably maintain ESs.展开更多

Ecosystem service flows(ESFs)can reveal the interrelationships and impacts between natural systems and human activities.We can improve the stability and sustainability of ecosystems,more effectively utilize natural re...Ecosystem service flows(ESFs)can reveal the interrelationships and impacts between natural systems and human activities.We can improve the stability and sustainability of ecosystems,more effectively utilize natural resources,protect the environment,and enhance the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature by comprehending ESFs.However,few studies have examined ESFs across scales and evaluated their sustainability;most have concentrated on regional scales.In order to quantify and analyze ESFs within the Jing River Basin(JRB)and between the JRB and the adjacent and distant regions from a water-food-energy perspective,this paper employs a meta-coupling framework.Additionally,it evaluates the sustainability of these flows using a techno-ecological synergy framework.The results show that the ESFs within the JRB was significant in 2020.Water production services were concentrated in the southern part of the JRB,while the distribution of food supply and carbon supply services was relatively even.Huan County emerged as the largest exporting county,providing 1.46×10^(8)kg of food to other counties and exporting 2.97×10^(6)kg of energy.The ESFs in the JRB primarily moved towards the neighboring and distant systems.Water production services flowed into the Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration(GPUA),amounting to 5.8×10^(6)kg.Carbon supply services flowed out at 2.4×10^(5)kg,and food exports were the highest,reaching 5.0×10^(7)kg.The ecosystem service flows from the JRB to both the neighboring and distant systems enhanced food security and ecological resilience.The basin itself demonstrated good sustainability in food supply services,with an index value reaching 48.19.In crossscale calculations of food production sustainability with the adjacent GPUA,the index value increased from 48.19 to 52.99,indicating a significant improvement.These findings demonstrate that applying the meta-coupling framework provides an effective approach to quantify ESFs and assess their sustainability across scales.展开更多
Cultural ecosystem services(CES),which encompass recreational and aesthetic values,contribute to human wellbeing and yet are often underrepresented in forest management planning due to challenges in quantifying these ...Cultural ecosystem services(CES),which encompass recreational and aesthetic values,contribute to human wellbeing and yet are often underrepresented in forest management planning due to challenges in quantifying these services.This study introduces the Recreational and Aesthetic Values of Forested Landscapes(RAFL)index,a novel framework combining six measurable recreational and aesthetic components:Stewardship,Naturalness,Complexity,Visual Scale,Historicity,and Ephemera.The RAFL index was integrated into a Linear Programming(LP)Resource Capability Model(RCM)to assess trade-offs between CES and other ecosystem services,including timber production,wildfire resistance,and biodiversity.The approach was applied in a case study in Northern Portugal,comparing two forest management scenarios:Business as Usual(BAU),dominated by eucalyptus plantations,and an Alternative Scenario(ALT),focused on the conversion to native species:cork oak,chestnut,and pedunculate oak.Results revealed that the ALT scenario consistently achieved higher RAFL values,reflecting its potential to enhance CES,while also supporting higher biodiversity and wildfire resilience compared to the BAU scenario.Results highlighted further that management may maintain steady timber production and wildfire regulatory services while addressing concerns with CES.This study provides a replicable methodology for quantifying CES and integrating them into forest management frameworks,offering actionable insights for decision-makers.The findings highlight the effectiveness of the approach in designing landscape mosaics that provide CES while addressing the need to supply provisioning and regulatory ecosystem services.展开更多
In the 21st century world,people mostly behave with business mentality without considering moral obligations in society.In this behavioral change,the service market,particularly the medical care service market,has app...In the 21st century world,people mostly behave with business mentality without considering moral obligations in society.In this behavioral change,the service market,particularly the medical care service market,has appeared to be vulnerable.Because of supplying medical care services,the doctor or hospital receives capitation payments,fees-for-services,risk pool settlements,incentive payments or other fees.However,today it is probably the most criticized profession in world economy country-wise such as Bangladesh.Sometimes doctors here are blamed for requiring unnecessary tests of patients for doctors’own monetary gains.In some cases,doctors’efforts are assumed to relate to pharmaceutical products promotion by writing lengthy prescriptions.Some groups claim that today doctors spend less time on each patient.All these interactions justify claiming that a patient works for a doctor when the patient visits a doctor for medical care services.Here the existence of“asymmetric information”dominates the medical care market where doctor takes advantages in multiple facets.It causes market inefficiency that creates negative economic externalities-deadweight loss.Improving medical education with special emphasis on ethical aspects and soft skills in communication is considered important in order to reduce the magnitudes of today’s dilemma in the medical care service market.Also,strict enforcements of medical care provisions and ethical code of conduct among all health works can be instrumental.Finally,the answer to the question“Are medical care services becoming money-making machines under physicians’headship in the 21st century business-driven world?”depends on who are asked.But the reflections of today’s medical care market in economy of Bangladesh are no deniable,which deserves to be studied further curtailing the magnitudes of the problem.展开更多

Objective:To assess comprehensive abortion care(CAC)services uptake and barriers to it in selected representative units of the three tier health care in the district of Malda in West Bengal,India.Methods:We conducted ...Objective:To assess comprehensive abortion care(CAC)services uptake and barriers to it in selected representative units of the three tier health care in the district of Malda in West Bengal,India.Methods:We conducted community-based,concurrent,parallel mixed methods study.Quantitative assessment of knowledge of primary health care workers on CAC and appropriate infrastructure assessment was done.Qualitative methods were used to identify themes affecting uptake of quality care among stakeholders.Results:A total of 48 staff nurses and 133 auxiliary nurses and midwives were included in the study.About half of nurses(of total 48)who were second tier health care provider and two thirds(of total 133)of first tier health care provider had incorrect knowledge about legality of abortion.Only 40%mothers seeking abortion were accompanied to subcentre by primary health care worker.At the third tier health care site,physicians insisted on necessity of refresher training.Suboptimal uptake of available CAC services was due to lack of enabling environment.Lack of updated training across health care workers was observed.Conclusions:Health care providers at the community level were unaware of facilities available for mothers seeking abortion.Higher level health care providers were unsure of specific knowledge about legal permissibility and sterilization of apparatus for abortion.At the highest level,more training on medical methods of abortion was required.The problems identified are amenable to correction,and some administrative and service-related provision on appropriate measures may lead to immediate success.展开更多
Objective:To study the application effect of the multi-role positioning service model in hypertensive patients in the health examination center.Methods:A total of 152 hypertensive patients admitted to the hospital’s ...Objective:To study the application effect of the multi-role positioning service model in hypertensive patients in the health examination center.Methods:A total of 152 hypertensive patients admitted to the hospital’s health examination center from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected as the subjects.They were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method.The control group(76 cases)received conventional physical examination service mode,while the observation group(76 cases)adopted the multi-role positioning service model.The nurse proficiency and physical examination quality were compared between the two groups.Results:The nurse proficiency scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The physical examination quality scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The adoption of the multi-role positioning service model for hypertensive patients in the health examination center can improve nurse proficiency and physical examination quality.展开更多

The traditional process of service composition is divided into semantic discovery and functional matching and makes tasks be operation objects. Semantic similarity is used to discover services matching a specific task and then generate a corresponding task-oriented web service composition (TWC) graph. Moreover, an algorithm for the new service is designed to update the TWC. The approach is applied to the composition model, in which the TWC is searched to obtain an optimal path and the final service composition is output. Also, the model can implement realtime updating with changing environments. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm and indicate that the maximum searching radius can be set to 2 to achieve an equilibrium point of quality and quantity.展开更多

So in this paper, we will try to discover a service from repository first that can provide the required output to the user. The process becomes difficult when a single service is not able to fulfill a user’s need and we need a combination of services to answer complex needs of users. In our paper, we will suggest a simpler approach for dynamic service composition using a graph based methodology. This will be a design time service composition. This approach uses the functional and non-functional parameters of the services to select the most suitable services for composition as per user’s need. This approach involves “service classification” on the basis of functional parameters, “service discovery” on the basis of user’s need and then “service composition” using the selected services on the basis of non-functional parameters like response time, cost, security and availability. Another challenge in SOA implementation is that, once the composition has performed, some services may become faulty at runtime and may stop the entire process of serving a user’s need. So, we will also describe a way of “dynamic service reconfiguration” in our approach that will enable us to identify and replace a faulty service that is violating the SLA or is not accessible anymore. This service reconfiguration is done without redoing or reconfiguring the entire composition. In the end, to simulate the proposed approach, we will represent a prototype application built on php 5.4 using My SQL database at backend.展开更多

The development of effective methods to assure the trustworthiness of service interoperation in cloud environment is a very important problem. The essence of cloud security is trust and trust management. Combining quality of service (QoS) with trust model, this paper constructs a QoS-aware and quantitative trust-model that consists of initial trust value, direct trust value, and recommendatory trust value of service, making the provision, discovery, and aggregation of cloud services trustworthy. Hence, it can assure trustworthiness of service interoperation between users and services or among services in cloud environment. At the same time, based on this model, service discovery method based on QoS-aware and quantitative trust-model (TQoS-WSD) is proposed, which makes a solid trust relationship among service requestor, service provider and service recommender, and users can find trustworthy service whose total evaluation value is higher. Corapared to QoS-based service discovery (QoS-WSD) method, it is proved by the experiment for TQoS-WSD method that more accurate result of service discovery will be achieved by service requestor, while reasonable time cost is increased. Meanwhile, TQoS-WSD method strongly resists the effect of service discovery by untrustworthy QoS values and improves service invocation success-rate and thus assures trustworthiness of services interoperation.展开更多

文摘Ecosystem service flows(ESFs)can reveal the interrelationships and impacts between natural systems and human activities.We can improve the stability and sustainability of ecosystems,more effectively utilize natural resources,protect the environment,and enhance the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature by comprehending ESFs.However,few studies have examined ESFs across scales and evaluated their sustainability;most have concentrated on regional scales.In order to quantify and analyze ESFs within the Jing River Basin(JRB)and between the JRB and the adjacent and distant regions from a water-food-energy perspective,this paper employs a meta-coupling framework.Additionally,it evaluates the sustainability of these flows using a techno-ecological synergy framework.The results show that the ESFs within the JRB was significant in 2020.Water production services were concentrated in the southern part of the JRB,while the distribution of food supply and carbon supply services was relatively even.Huan County emerged as the largest exporting county,providing 1.46×10^(8)kg of food to other counties and exporting 2.97×10^(6)kg of energy.The ESFs in the JRB primarily moved towards the neighboring and distant systems.Water production services flowed into the Guanzhong Plain Urban Agglomeration(GPUA),amounting to 5.8×10^(6)kg.Carbon supply services flowed out at 2.4×10^(5)kg,and food exports were the highest,reaching 5.0×10^(7)kg.The ecosystem service flows from the JRB to both the neighboring and distant systems enhanced food security and ecological resilience.The basin itself demonstrated good sustainability in food supply services,with an index value reaching 48.19.In crossscale calculations of food production sustainability with the adjacent GPUA,the index value increased from 48.19 to 52.99,indicating a significant improvement.These findings demonstrate that applying the meta-coupling framework provides an effective approach to quantify ESFs and assess their sustainability across scales.

文摘Cultural ecosystem services(CES),which encompass recreational and aesthetic values,contribute to human wellbeing and yet are often underrepresented in forest management planning due to challenges in quantifying these services.This study introduces the Recreational and Aesthetic Values of Forested Landscapes(RAFL)index,a novel framework combining six measurable recreational and aesthetic components:Stewardship,Naturalness,Complexity,Visual Scale,Historicity,and Ephemera.The RAFL index was integrated into a Linear Programming(LP)Resource Capability Model(RCM)to assess trade-offs between CES and other ecosystem services,including timber production,wildfire resistance,and biodiversity.The approach was applied in a case study in Northern Portugal,comparing two forest management scenarios:Business as Usual(BAU),dominated by eucalyptus plantations,and an Alternative Scenario(ALT),focused on the conversion to native species:cork oak,chestnut,and pedunculate oak.Results revealed that the ALT scenario consistently achieved higher RAFL values,reflecting its potential to enhance CES,while also supporting higher biodiversity and wildfire resilience compared to the BAU scenario.Results highlighted further that management may maintain steady timber production and wildfire regulatory services while addressing concerns with CES.This study provides a replicable methodology for quantifying CES and integrating them into forest management frameworks,offering actionable insights for decision-makers.The findings highlight the effectiveness of the approach in designing landscape mosaics that provide CES while addressing the need to supply provisioning and regulatory ecosystem services.
文摘In the 21st century world,people mostly behave with business mentality without considering moral obligations in society.In this behavioral change,the service market,particularly the medical care service market,has appeared to be vulnerable.Because of supplying medical care services,the doctor or hospital receives capitation payments,fees-for-services,risk pool settlements,incentive payments or other fees.However,today it is probably the most criticized profession in world economy country-wise such as Bangladesh.Sometimes doctors here are blamed for requiring unnecessary tests of patients for doctors’own monetary gains.In some cases,doctors’efforts are assumed to relate to pharmaceutical products promotion by writing lengthy prescriptions.Some groups claim that today doctors spend less time on each patient.All these interactions justify claiming that a patient works for a doctor when the patient visits a doctor for medical care services.Here the existence of“asymmetric information”dominates the medical care market where doctor takes advantages in multiple facets.It causes market inefficiency that creates negative economic externalities-deadweight loss.Improving medical education with special emphasis on ethical aspects and soft skills in communication is considered important in order to reduce the magnitudes of today’s dilemma in the medical care service market.Also,strict enforcements of medical care provisions and ethical code of conduct among all health works can be instrumental.Finally,the answer to the question“Are medical care services becoming money-making machines under physicians’headship in the 21st century business-driven world?”depends on who are asked.But the reflections of today’s medical care market in economy of Bangladesh are no deniable,which deserves to be studied further curtailing the magnitudes of the problem.

文摘Objective To study the current situation and corresponding characteristics of internet pharmacy services and summarize their core connotations,and to make some suggestions for their future development based on national policies.Methods The literature of the last 20 years that fully or partially matched the theme of internet pharmacy services in China was studied to summarize the status of research and development of remote pharmacy services by combining the web survey method.Results and Conclusion China’s internet pharmacy services include online consultation,science education,information enquiry,follow-up and intervention,and other functions.The main service providers are medical institutions,Internet enterprises,and online drug sales platforms.Internet pharmacy services can improve patients’compliance with medication and the convenience of medical treatment,which better play the role of pharmacists.However,they also face problems such as the varying service qualities,the small number of users,the difficulty in popularizing services in remote areas,and the lack of supervision and protection of patients’rights.

文摘Objective:To assess comprehensive abortion care(CAC)services uptake and barriers to it in selected representative units of the three tier health care in the district of Malda in West Bengal,India.Methods:We conducted community-based,concurrent,parallel mixed methods study.Quantitative assessment of knowledge of primary health care workers on CAC and appropriate infrastructure assessment was done.Qualitative methods were used to identify themes affecting uptake of quality care among stakeholders.Results:A total of 48 staff nurses and 133 auxiliary nurses and midwives were included in the study.About half of nurses(of total 48)who were second tier health care provider and two thirds(of total 133)of first tier health care provider had incorrect knowledge about legality of abortion.Only 40%mothers seeking abortion were accompanied to subcentre by primary health care worker.At the third tier health care site,physicians insisted on necessity of refresher training.Suboptimal uptake of available CAC services was due to lack of enabling environment.Lack of updated training across health care workers was observed.Conclusions:Health care providers at the community level were unaware of facilities available for mothers seeking abortion.Higher level health care providers were unsure of specific knowledge about legal permissibility and sterilization of apparatus for abortion.At the highest level,more training on medical methods of abortion was required.The problems identified are amenable to correction,and some administrative and service-related provision on appropriate measures may lead to immediate success.
文摘Objective:To study the application effect of the multi-role positioning service model in hypertensive patients in the health examination center.Methods:A total of 152 hypertensive patients admitted to the hospital’s health examination center from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected as the subjects.They were randomly divided into two groups using a random number table method.The control group(76 cases)received conventional physical examination service mode,while the observation group(76 cases)adopted the multi-role positioning service model.The nurse proficiency and physical examination quality were compared between the two groups.Results:The nurse proficiency scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).The physical examination quality scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The adoption of the multi-role positioning service model for hypertensive patients in the health examination center can improve nurse proficiency and physical examination quality.
文摘With the intensifying aging population,rural elderly care services are facing challenges such as uneven medical resources and inadequate facilities.Taking Qinhuangdao City as an example,this paper explores ways to improve rural elderly care services through the construction of a remote medical service network.This paper analyzes the current status of rural elderly care services in Qinhuangdao City,pointing out that issues such as the uneven distribution of medical resources between urban and rural areas,poor accessibility,and low service quality urgently need to be addressed.The necessity of accelerating the construction of a remote medical network is proposed,including reducing medical costs,optimizing resource allocation,and disease prevention.Specific measures cover aspects such as policy support,integration of medical and elderly care services,talent cultivation,and technology promotion.At the same time,the potential challenges and risks faced by the remote medical service network in improving rural elderly care services are evaluated,and corresponding countermeasures and suggestions are proposed.Research shows that remote medical care can effectively improve the quality of rural elderly care services and help achieve proper medical care for the elderly.

文摘In order to achieve adaptive and efficient service composition, a task-oriented algorithm for discovering services is proposed. The traditional process of service composition is divided into semantic discovery and functional matching and makes tasks be operation objects. Semantic similarity is used to discover services matching a specific task and then generate a corresponding task-oriented web service composition (TWC) graph. Moreover, an algorithm for the new service is designed to update the TWC. The approach is applied to the composition model, in which the TWC is searched to obtain an optimal path and the final service composition is output. Also, the model can implement realtime updating with changing environments. Experimental results demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of the algorithm and indicate that the maximum searching radius can be set to 2 to achieve an equilibrium point of quality and quantity.
文摘In any organization where SOA has been implemented, all of the web services are registered in UDDI and users’ needs are served by using appropriate web services. So in this paper, we will try to discover a service from repository first that can provide the required output to the user. The process becomes difficult when a single service is not able to fulfill a user’s need and we need a combination of services to answer complex needs of users. In our paper, we will suggest a simpler approach for dynamic service composition using a graph based methodology. This will be a design time service composition. This approach uses the functional and non-functional parameters of the services to select the most suitable services for composition as per user’s need. This approach involves “service classification” on the basis of functional parameters, “service discovery” on the basis of user’s need and then “service composition” using the selected services on the basis of non-functional parameters like response time, cost, security and availability. Another challenge in SOA implementation is that, once the composition has performed, some services may become faulty at runtime and may stop the entire process of serving a user’s need. So, we will also describe a way of “dynamic service reconfiguration” in our approach that will enable us to identify and replace a faulty service that is violating the SLA or is not accessible anymore. This service reconfiguration is done without redoing or reconfiguring the entire composition. In the end, to simulate the proposed approach, we will represent a prototype application built on php 5.4 using My SQL database at backend.

文摘Cloud computing can be realized by service interoperation and its essence is to provide cloud services through network. The development of effective methods to assure the trustworthiness of service interoperation in cloud environment is a very important problem. The essence of cloud security is trust and trust management. Combining quality of service (QoS) with trust model, this paper constructs a QoS-aware and quantitative trust-model that consists of initial trust value, direct trust value, and recommendatory trust value of service, making the provision, discovery, and aggregation of cloud services trustworthy. Hence, it can assure trustworthiness of service interoperation between users and services or among services in cloud environment. At the same time, based on this model, service discovery method based on QoS-aware and quantitative trust-model (TQoS-WSD) is proposed, which makes a solid trust relationship among service requestor, service provider and service recommender, and users can find trustworthy service whose total evaluation value is higher. Corapared to QoS-based service discovery (QoS-WSD) method, it is proved by the experiment for TQoS-WSD method that more accurate result of service discovery will be achieved by service requestor, while reasonable time cost is increased. Meanwhile, TQoS-WSD method strongly resists the effect of service discovery by untrustworthy QoS values and improves service invocation success-rate and thus assures trustworthiness of services interoperation.

文摘A web service wrapping approach for command line programs,which are commonly used in scientific computing,is proposed.First,software architecture for a basic web service wrapper implementation is given and the functions of the main components are explained.Then after a comprehensive analysis of data transmission and a job life cycle model,a novel proactive file transmission and job management mechanism is devised to enhance the software architecture,and the command line programs are wrapped into web services in such a way that they can efficiently transmit files,supply instant status feedback and automatically manage the jobs.Experiments show that the proposed approach achieves higher performance with less memory usage compared to the related work, and the usability is also improved.This work has already been put into use in a production system of scientific computing and the data processing efficiency of the system is greatly improved.

文摘A novel semantic model of Web service descrip tion and discovery was proposed through an extension for profile model of Web ontology language for services (OWL-S) in this paper. Similarity matching of Web services was implemented through computing weighted summation of semantic similarity value based on specific domain ontology and dynamical satisfy extent evaluation for quality of service (QoS). Experiments show that the provided semantic matching model is efficient.
