We also ...The objective of this study was to verify the protective effect of Bifidobacterium longum(BL) and the synergistical effect of Selenium and BL on alcohol plus high fat diet(HFD) induced hepatic injury in mice. We also want to explore the mechanism of Selenium-enriched Bifidobacterium longum(Se BL). C57 BL/6 mice were treated with alcohol plus HFD with or without different dosage of BL or Se BL for 4 weeks. Serum levels of ALT, AST, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, FFAs, TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β, hepatic MDA level, SOD activity, the m RNA levels of AMPK, PPAR-α and SREBP1 were invested. Se BL inhibited lipid accumulation in hepatocytes;reduced serum AST and ALT levels;improved dyslipidemia;decreased serum FFAs, TC, TG and LDL-C levels. Se BL also inhibited alcohol plus HFD-induced hepatocyte oxidative stress through decrease in hepatic MDA levels and increase in SOD activity. Se BL also regulated lipid metabolism related genes such as AMPK, PPAR-α and SREBP1. Although BL had similar effect as Se BL, Se BL is more effective than BL. Se BL protected mice from alcohol plus HFD-induced hepatic injury in mice because of its inhibitory effect on hepatocellular oxidative stress, lipogenesis and inflammation. Background Organic selenium(Se)has gained recognition in poultry nutrition as a feed additive to boost production and Se deposition in eggs and tissues,owing to its high bioavailability,efficient tissue accumulation a...Background Organic selenium(Se)has gained recognition in poultry nutrition as a feed additive to boost production and Se deposition in eggs and tissues,owing to its high bioavailability,efficient tissue accumulation and minimal toxicity.Selenium-enriched yeast(SeY)is a well-established source,while selenium-enriched lactobacilli(SeL),a newer alternative,offers the added benefits of probiotics.This study examined the effects of SeY and SeL on egg quality,antioxidant capacity,Se deposition,and gut health in laying hens.After a two-week pre-treatment with a Sedeficient diet(SeD),450 Hy-Line Brown laying hens(30-week-old)were assigned into five dietary groups with six replicates of 15 hens each.The groups included a SeD,SeD supplemented with 1.5 mg Se/kg from SeY(SeY15),or 1.5,3.0,and 6.0 mg Se/kg from SeL(SeL15,SeL30,SeL60).The feeding trial lasted for 12 weeks.Results SeY15 and SeL15 improved the feed-to-egg ratio(P<0.05)in the latter stages.Haugh units were significantly increased(P<0.05)in the SeY15 and SeL30 groups,while darker yolk color(P<0.05)was observed in the SeY15,SeL15,and SeL60 groups.All Se-supplemented diets increased Se content in whole eggs,albumen,and yolk(P<0.05),while SeL groups showed a dose-dependent effect.Antioxidant enzyme activities increased,and MDA content decreased in the serum(P<0.05),with SeY15 showing the highest GSH-Px levels(P<0.05).SeL60 increased serum alkaline phosphatase and aspartate transaminase,and distorted the liver architecture(P<0.05).Se-diets reduced concentrations of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in the ileum and liver(P<0.05).SeL15 improved the ileal villus height-tocrypt depth ratio(P<0.05).SeY15 and/or SeL15 up-regulated TXNRD1 and SEPHS1 mRNA while down-regulating SCLY expression in the liver.SeY15 altered ileal microbiota by increasing both beneficial and pathogenic bacteria,whereas SeL15 predominantly boosted beneficial bacteria.Conclusion SeL integrates the antioxidant properties of organic Se with the probiotic benefits on gut health,resulting in a performance-enhancing effect comparable to that of SeY.However,high SeL level(6.0 mg Se/kg)compromised productivity and metabolic functions while enhancing Se deposition.展开更多

Probiotics can regulate gut microbes to maintain human health.However,the sensitivity of probiotics to environmental conditions reduces their bioavailability.In contrast,the formation of probiotic biofilm provides a n...Probiotics can regulate gut microbes to maintain human health.However,the sensitivity of probiotics to environmental conditions reduces their bioavailability.In contrast,the formation of probiotic biofilm provides a natural physical barrier against external interference.Our previous study established a dynamic culture system of the biofilm-state Bifidobacterium adolescentis Gr19(B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19),forming higher density and more structurally stable biofilms,which enhanced its potential probiotic properties in vivo.Thus,the protective effect and mechanism of B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction were investigated in this study.The results showed that B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 not only had high resistance and adhesion activity,but also improved the intestinal barrier by increasing goblet cells and promoting the expression of tight junction(TJ)-related proteins.Moreover,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 effectively attenuated intestinal barrier injury in Caco-2 cells by improving intestinal permeability and integrity.Remarkably,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 enhanced expression of TJ proteins,restored localization of cytoskeleton and reduced intestinal inflammation by suppressing the Ras homolog family member A/Rho-associated coiled-coil-forming kinases/nuclear factor kappa B/myosin light chain kinase/myosin light chain(RhoA/ROCK/NF-κB/MLCK/MLC)pathway.Therefore,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 plays a key role in mitigating LPS-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction.Overall,the present study provides a theoretical basis for ameliorating intestinal barrier dysfunction and developing novel functional foods by using biofilm-state probiotics under dynamic culture.展开更多

High-salt diet is well recognized as a risk factor for hypertension,and dietary intervention plays a critical role in the prevention of hypertension.The current study investigated the effects of selenium-enriched gree...High-salt diet is well recognized as a risk factor for hypertension,and dietary intervention plays a critical role in the prevention of hypertension.The current study investigated the effects of selenium-enriched green tea(Se-GT)and ordinary green tea(GT)on prevention of hypertension of rats induced by high-salt diet,as well as their potential regulatory and mechanism.Our results showed that GT and Se-GT supplementations significantly prevented the increase of blood pressure(BP),activated the phosphoinosmde-3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway,and regulated the gene expression related to BP,as well as improved the tissue damage like heart,liver,and kidneys.Besides,the key parameters associated with oxidative stress,inflammation and endothelial dysfunction were also altered by GT and Se-GT treatments.Importantly,GT or Se-GT administration adjusted the diversity and composition of the intestinal flora.Moreover,GT and Se-GT supplementations increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria and reduced the abundance of harmful or conditional pathogenic bacteria.More specifically,GT intake specifically and significantly enriched the relative abundance of Paraprevotella and Bacteroides,whereas Se-GT was characterized by specific and significant enrichment for Allobaculum and Bifidobacterium.Our results proved that dietary supplement of GT and Se-GT remarkably improved the vascular functions and effectively prevented tissue damage by regulation of intestinal flora,and thus preventing hypertension induced by high-salt diet.展开更多

[Methods]Selenium-enriched rice was used as materials to extract selenoproteins by phosphate buffer extraction method and to optimize the extraction process of selenoproteins by using the orthogonal experiment. Proteins and selenium content was measured by Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 reagent and AFS( atomic fluorescence spectrometry) respectively. [Results] The most significant factor affecting extraction of rice Selenoproteins was extraction NaO H concentration,followed by the ratio of solid-liquid,temperature and then extraction time. The optimum extraction conditions of selenoproteins from rice were extraction temperature of 50 ℃,NaO H concentration of 0. 14 mol/L,extraction time of 5 h,and solid-liquid ratio of 1∶ 30. [Conclusions]The alkali extraction process optimized by orthogonal test could effectively improve the extraction rate of selenoproteins,and the optimized process parameters could be popularized and applied in practical production.展开更多

The results showed that he Qinghai selenium-enriched soil selenium content in the range of 100. 00-563. 00 μg/kg,among them,the soil samples with sufficient selenium and rich selenium accounted for 76. 53% and 18. 88%,respectively. Soil selenium content of garlic sampling area was relatively high,and soil selenium content of sugar beet sampling area was relatively low. Vegetable selenium content was in the range of 11. 00-340. 94 μg/kg,the average content of total selenium content of garlic was up to 170. 40 μg/kg,and the average content of the total selenium content of radish is 73. 00 μg/kg.90. 63% of the vegetables in the region reached the level of sufficient selenium,and 70. 31% reached the level of selenium enrichment. Background:The maturation of the immune system is critical during early life,as it involves the differentiation,maturation,and establishment of immune tolerance of immune cells.This process is influenced not only by g...Background:The maturation of the immune system is critical during early life,as it involves the differentiation,maturation,and establishment of immune tolerance of immune cells.This process is influenced not only by genetic factors but also by en-vironmental factors,particularly the symbiotic microbiota.Bifidobacterium animalis subsp.lactis(BB-12),originally found in dairy products,is widely used in infant for-mula and dietary supplements.However,its role and mechanisms in immune develop-ment during early life remain unclear.Methods:Using GF mice as the experimental model,B.animalis subsp.lactis BB-12 was administered via gavage during early life.In the juvenile stage,changes in T-cell subsets in the spleen,thymus,and gut intraepithelial lymphocytes(IEL)were assessed using spectral flow cytometry.Additionally,targeted metabolomics analysis of trypto-phan metabolism and short-chain fatty acid pathways in colonic tissue was conducted to explore how B.animalis subsp.lactis BB-12 influences the immune system through gut microbiota metabolism.Results:BB-12 effectively modulates the gut immune microenvironment,leading to beneficial changes in T-cell subsets in key immune tissues such as the spleen,thymus,and gut IELs.Metabolomics analysis further supports these findings by showing that BB-12 intervention greatly increased the production of tryptophan derivatives and acetic acid in the colon of GF mice.Conclusion:The findings provide theoretical evidence for the role of B.animalis subsp.lactis in immune system development and support its application in dietary supple-ments,suggesting potential as a component for infant immune health and in prevent-ing immune-related diseases.展开更多

Bifidobacterium longum subsp.infantis and Bifidobacterium adolescentis play important roles in the guts of infants and adolescents,respectively.In this study,using a neonatal rat model,we compared the protective effec...Bifidobacterium longum subsp.infantis and Bifidobacterium adolescentis play important roles in the guts of infants and adolescents,respectively.In this study,using a neonatal rat model,we compared the protective effects of these 2 bifidobacterial species against Salmonella infection.The results demonstrated that B.longum subsp.infantis was more effective than B.adolescentis in alleviating the severity of infection in newborn rats exposed to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain SL1344.B.longum subsp.infantis attenuated intestinal inflammation and mucosal damage induced by Salmonella infection,as well as protecting intestinal nerves and intestinal barrier function through TLR4/My D88 signalling.B.longum subsp.infantis also displayed the potential to modulate gut metabolites by promoting the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids(arachidonic acid,eicosapentaenoic acid andα-linolenic acid)and purine metabolism(guanine,adenine,inosine and adenosine),thereby regulating metabolic disturbances.Additionally,the benefits of B.longum subsp.infantis were also observed in the liver,spleen and brain,improving nerve reflexes and suppressing hepatosplenomegaly.Overall,these findings provide novel insights into the prevention and treatment of gutrelated diseases in newborns,highlighting the potentially significant role of B.longum subsp.infantis in clinical applications.展开更多
The impact of mother-infant microbiota on neurodevelopment is an area of interest,but longitudinal studies are scarce.Using a cohort of 520 families from the Jiangsu birth cohort in China,we reveal that the maternal g...The impact of mother-infant microbiota on neurodevelopment is an area of interest,but longitudinal studies are scarce.Using a cohort of 520 families from the Jiangsu birth cohort in China,we reveal that the maternal gut microbiota during early pregnancy play a substantial role,accounting for 3.34%of the variance in offspring neurodevelopmental scores.This contribution is notably higher than the 1.24%attributed to the infants’own microbiota at 1 year of age,underscoring the significant influence of maternal gut health on early child development.Remarkably,an elevation in maternal Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum is linked to decreased cognitive scores,whereas an enrichment of Bifidobacterium longum at 1 year of age is associated with higher cognitive scores.Furthermore,we find that maternal B.pseudocatenulatum is linked to the heterolactic fermentation metabolic pathway,while infant B.longum is associated with the Bifidobacterium shunt pathway.In summary,our analysis implies that maternal and infant gut microbiota play a distinct role in neurodevelopment,suggesting potential strategies for improving neurodevelopmental outcomes during early pregnancy or infant development by targeting gut microbiota composition.展开更多
Obesity is a major focus of researchers due to its increasing prevalence and relationship with other diseases,such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases.Probiotics are active microorganisms and have been proven to all...Obesity is a major focus of researchers due to its increasing prevalence and relationship with other diseases,such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases.Probiotics are active microorganisms and have been proven to alleviate obesity by modulating the microbiota.In this study,we found that oral administration of Bifidobacterium adolescentis CCFM8630 to obese mice inhibited high-fat diet(HFD)-induced changes in body weight and adipose tissue and alleviated hepatic oxidative stress.Furthermore,B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment primarily affected the relative abundances of the phyla Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria,and thereby decreased the production of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and the occurrence of LPS related diseases.A high fiber intake increased the abundance of Lactobacillus and the concentrations of short chain fatty acids in obese mice,but these changes were reversed by B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment.In addition,targeted metabolomic analysis and microbiota relationship analysis revealed that B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment modified the microbiota of obese mice by promoting the conversion of tryptophan(Trp)to xanthurenic acid,kynurenic acid,tryptamine,indole-3-acetic acid,and indole-3-carboxaldehyde;facilitated the expression of interleukin-17A and the aryl hydrocarbon receptor to generate interleukin-22 in the colon;and upregulated the expression of tight junction proteins,thereby strengthening intestinal barriers.In summary,our findings suggest that the intake of B.adolescentis CCFM8630 may alleviate obesity by modulating the gut microbiota and related Trp metabolism.展开更多

Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 ne...Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 neonates with NEC admitted to our hospital were selected as study subjects.During the study,these 88 patients were evenly divided into two groups,namely the observation group and the control group,with 44 patients in each group based on the random number table method.In terms of treatment,the control group was treated with meropenem,while the observation group received additional treatment with Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria powder based on the treatment plan of the control group.The clinical efficacy and differences in serum inflammatory factor levels between the two groups were compared.Results:The efficacy of the observation group(90.91%)was better than that of the control group(72.73%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment,and the values of the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on conventional treatment for NEC neonates,the use of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets has significant efficacy and can effectively reduce serum inflammatory factor levels.展开更多
BACKGROUND Patients with gastric cancer may have a risk of depression after radical surgery,which affects recovery and requires intensive intervention.AIM To explore the role of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria-...BACKGROUND Patients with gastric cancer may have a risk of depression after radical surgery,which affects recovery and requires intensive intervention.AIM To explore the role of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria-assisted mirtazapine in patients with depression after radical surgery for gastric cancer.METHODS This study included 80 patients with gastric cancer who experienced depression after undergoing radical surgery from January 2022 to December 2023 at Jiangnan University Hospital in Wuxi city in Jiangsu province.The patients were categorized into the control group(n=40)treated with mirtazapine and observation group(n=40)treated with combined Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria-assisted mirtazapine.Neuroendocrine index,intestinal flora level,nutrition status,and patient quality of life were analyzed.RESULTS Before drug index level,no statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups (P>0.05).After drug administration,both groups experienced a decline in depression scores,cortisol,Escherichia coli,Enterococcus faecalis levels,and quality of life scores,whereas dopamine,serotonin,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacteria,hemoglobin,serum albumin and prealbumin levels increased.The observation group demonstrated significantly greater improvements across these indicators,with significant differences within groups and between groups(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Bifidobacterium has a relieving effect on depression in patients after radical surgery for gastric cancer,improves neuroendocrine status,regulates intestinal flora,and improves nutritional status and quality of life.展开更多

文摘The objective of this study was to verify the protective effect of Bifidobacterium longum(BL) and the synergistical effect of Selenium and BL on alcohol plus high fat diet(HFD) induced hepatic injury in mice. We also want to explore the mechanism of Selenium-enriched Bifidobacterium longum(Se BL). C57 BL/6 mice were treated with alcohol plus HFD with or without different dosage of BL or Se BL for 4 weeks. Serum levels of ALT, AST, TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C, FFAs, TNF-α, IL-6 and IL-1β, hepatic MDA level, SOD activity, the m RNA levels of AMPK, PPAR-α and SREBP1 were invested. Se BL inhibited lipid accumulation in hepatocytes;reduced serum AST and ALT levels;improved dyslipidemia;decreased serum FFAs, TC, TG and LDL-C levels. Se BL also inhibited alcohol plus HFD-induced hepatocyte oxidative stress through decrease in hepatic MDA levels and increase in SOD activity. Se BL also regulated lipid metabolism related genes such as AMPK, PPAR-α and SREBP1. Although BL had similar effect as Se BL, Se BL is more effective than BL. Se BL protected mice from alcohol plus HFD-induced hepatic injury in mice because of its inhibitory effect on hepatocellular oxidative stress, lipogenesis and inflammation. Selenium enhanced the protective effect of BL.

文摘Background Organic selenium(Se)has gained recognition in poultry nutrition as a feed additive to boost production and Se deposition in eggs and tissues,owing to its high bioavailability,efficient tissue accumulation and minimal toxicity.Selenium-enriched yeast(SeY)is a well-established source,while selenium-enriched lactobacilli(SeL),a newer alternative,offers the added benefits of probiotics.This study examined the effects of SeY and SeL on egg quality,antioxidant capacity,Se deposition,and gut health in laying hens.After a two-week pre-treatment with a Sedeficient diet(SeD),450 Hy-Line Brown laying hens(30-week-old)were assigned into five dietary groups with six replicates of 15 hens each.The groups included a SeD,SeD supplemented with 1.5 mg Se/kg from SeY(SeY15),or 1.5,3.0,and 6.0 mg Se/kg from SeL(SeL15,SeL30,SeL60).The feeding trial lasted for 12 weeks.Results SeY15 and SeL15 improved the feed-to-egg ratio(P<0.05)in the latter stages.Haugh units were significantly increased(P<0.05)in the SeY15 and SeL30 groups,while darker yolk color(P<0.05)was observed in the SeY15,SeL15,and SeL60 groups.All Se-supplemented diets increased Se content in whole eggs,albumen,and yolk(P<0.05),while SeL groups showed a dose-dependent effect.Antioxidant enzyme activities increased,and MDA content decreased in the serum(P<0.05),with SeY15 showing the highest GSH-Px levels(P<0.05).SeL60 increased serum alkaline phosphatase and aspartate transaminase,and distorted the liver architecture(P<0.05).Se-diets reduced concentrations of reactive oxygen species(ROS)in the ileum and liver(P<0.05).SeL15 improved the ileal villus height-tocrypt depth ratio(P<0.05).SeY15 and/or SeL15 up-regulated TXNRD1 and SEPHS1 mRNA while down-regulating SCLY expression in the liver.SeY15 altered ileal microbiota by increasing both beneficial and pathogenic bacteria,whereas SeL15 predominantly boosted beneficial bacteria.Conclusion SeL integrates the antioxidant properties of organic Se with the probiotic benefits on gut health,resulting in a performance-enhancing effect comparable to that of SeY.However,high SeL level(6.0 mg Se/kg)compromised productivity and metabolic functions while enhancing Se deposition.

文摘Probiotics can regulate gut microbes to maintain human health.However,the sensitivity of probiotics to environmental conditions reduces their bioavailability.In contrast,the formation of probiotic biofilm provides a natural physical barrier against external interference.Our previous study established a dynamic culture system of the biofilm-state Bifidobacterium adolescentis Gr19(B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19),forming higher density and more structurally stable biofilms,which enhanced its potential probiotic properties in vivo.Thus,the protective effect and mechanism of B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 on lipopolysaccharide(LPS)-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction were investigated in this study.The results showed that B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 not only had high resistance and adhesion activity,but also improved the intestinal barrier by increasing goblet cells and promoting the expression of tight junction(TJ)-related proteins.Moreover,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 effectively attenuated intestinal barrier injury in Caco-2 cells by improving intestinal permeability and integrity.Remarkably,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 enhanced expression of TJ proteins,restored localization of cytoskeleton and reduced intestinal inflammation by suppressing the Ras homolog family member A/Rho-associated coiled-coil-forming kinases/nuclear factor kappa B/myosin light chain kinase/myosin light chain(RhoA/ROCK/NF-κB/MLCK/MLC)pathway.Therefore,B-DC-B.adolescentis Gr19 plays a key role in mitigating LPS-induced intestinal barrier dysfunction.Overall,the present study provides a theoretical basis for ameliorating intestinal barrier dysfunction and developing novel functional foods by using biofilm-state probiotics under dynamic culture.

文摘This study aimed to investigate the effects of infant feces-derived Bifidobacterium breve CCFM1078 on rheumatoid cachexia(RC).Twenty-four female Wistar rats were assigned to 3 groups:CON group(normal saline by gavage),CIA group(collagen-induced arthritis(CIA),normal saline by gavage),and CCFM1078 group(CIA,3×10^(9)CFU/(rat·day)B.breve CCFM1078 gavage).The results demonstrated that B.breve CCFM1078 not only improved skeletal muscle function in CIA rats,but also modulated the gut microbiota,skeletal muscle metabolism and hormone levels,reduced inflammation in the knee joint and skeletal muscles,decreased activity of the nuclear factor κB(NF-κB)inflammatory signaling pathway,enhanced the insulin receptor substrate 1(IRS1)/phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/protein kinase(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway,promoted skeletal muscle differentiation,and maintained skeletal muscle fiber diameter,consequently slowing down the progression of RC.These findings suggested that B.breve CCFM1078 may have a beneficial role as part of a dietary intervention for RC,enhancing overall therapeutic effects.

文摘High-salt diet is well recognized as a risk factor for hypertension,and dietary intervention plays a critical role in the prevention of hypertension.The current study investigated the effects of selenium-enriched green tea(Se-GT)and ordinary green tea(GT)on prevention of hypertension of rats induced by high-salt diet,as well as their potential regulatory and mechanism.Our results showed that GT and Se-GT supplementations significantly prevented the increase of blood pressure(BP),activated the phosphoinosmde-3-kinase/protein kinase B(PI3K/Akt)signaling pathway,and regulated the gene expression related to BP,as well as improved the tissue damage like heart,liver,and kidneys.Besides,the key parameters associated with oxidative stress,inflammation and endothelial dysfunction were also altered by GT and Se-GT treatments.Importantly,GT or Se-GT administration adjusted the diversity and composition of the intestinal flora.Moreover,GT and Se-GT supplementations increased the abundance of beneficial bacteria and reduced the abundance of harmful or conditional pathogenic bacteria.More specifically,GT intake specifically and significantly enriched the relative abundance of Paraprevotella and Bacteroides,whereas Se-GT was characterized by specific and significant enrichment for Allobaculum and Bifidobacterium.Our results proved that dietary supplement of GT and Se-GT remarkably improved the vascular functions and effectively prevented tissue damage by regulation of intestinal flora,and thus preventing hypertension induced by high-salt diet.

文摘[Objectives] The aims were to optimize the extraction process of selenoproteins from selenium-enriched rice in Guangxi and provide references for the intensive processing and comprehensive utilization of selenium protein resources. [Methods]Selenium-enriched rice was used as materials to extract selenoproteins by phosphate buffer extraction method and to optimize the extraction process of selenoproteins by using the orthogonal experiment. Proteins and selenium content was measured by Coomassie Brilliant Blue G-250 reagent and AFS( atomic fluorescence spectrometry) respectively. [Results] The most significant factor affecting extraction of rice Selenoproteins was extraction NaO H concentration,followed by the ratio of solid-liquid,temperature and then extraction time. The optimum extraction conditions of selenoproteins from rice were extraction temperature of 50 ℃,NaO H concentration of 0. 14 mol/L,extraction time of 5 h,and solid-liquid ratio of 1∶ 30. [Conclusions]The alkali extraction process optimized by orthogonal test could effectively improve the extraction rate of selenoproteins,and the optimized process parameters could be popularized and applied in practical production.

文摘In order to improve the added value of the main vegetable products in Qinghai Province,we researched the effect of soil selenium content on vegetable quality in selenium-enriched area of Qinghai. Through the analysis of Qinghai selenium-enriched soil selenium content and5 kinds of main vegetables corresponds to the total selenium,part of the mineral elements and soluble sugar and VC content,the effects of soil selenium levels on selenium absorption and nourishment quality of vegetables were researched. The results showed that he Qinghai selenium-enriched soil selenium content in the range of 100. 00-563. 00 μg/kg,among them,the soil samples with sufficient selenium and rich selenium accounted for 76. 53% and 18. 88%,respectively. Soil selenium content of garlic sampling area was relatively high,and soil selenium content of sugar beet sampling area was relatively low. Vegetable selenium content was in the range of 11. 00-340. 94 μg/kg,the average content of total selenium content of garlic was up to 170. 40 μg/kg,and the average content of the total selenium content of radish is 73. 00 μg/kg.90. 63% of the vegetables in the region reached the level of sufficient selenium,and 70. 31% reached the level of selenium enrichment. The average content of Ca and Mg was higher than the national average. There was no significant correlation between selenium content of soil and vegetable and nutritional quality.

文摘Background:The maturation of the immune system is critical during early life,as it involves the differentiation,maturation,and establishment of immune tolerance of immune cells.This process is influenced not only by genetic factors but also by en-vironmental factors,particularly the symbiotic microbiota.Bifidobacterium animalis subsp.lactis(BB-12),originally found in dairy products,is widely used in infant for-mula and dietary supplements.However,its role and mechanisms in immune develop-ment during early life remain unclear.Methods:Using GF mice as the experimental model,B.animalis subsp.lactis BB-12 was administered via gavage during early life.In the juvenile stage,changes in T-cell subsets in the spleen,thymus,and gut intraepithelial lymphocytes(IEL)were assessed using spectral flow cytometry.Additionally,targeted metabolomics analysis of trypto-phan metabolism and short-chain fatty acid pathways in colonic tissue was conducted to explore how B.animalis subsp.lactis BB-12 influences the immune system through gut microbiota metabolism.Results:BB-12 effectively modulates the gut immune microenvironment,leading to beneficial changes in T-cell subsets in key immune tissues such as the spleen,thymus,and gut IELs.Metabolomics analysis further supports these findings by showing that BB-12 intervention greatly increased the production of tryptophan derivatives and acetic acid in the colon of GF mice.Conclusion:The findings provide theoretical evidence for the role of B.animalis subsp.lactis in immune system development and support its application in dietary supple-ments,suggesting potential as a component for infant immune health and in prevent-ing immune-related diseases.

文摘This study endeavors to investigate the effects of Bifidobacterium breve CCFM1078 on bone formation and resorption balance in growing BALB/c mice.Newborn BALB/c mice were assigned to the control group(administration saline)and the CCFM1078 group(administration B.breve CCFM1078,3×10^(9) CFU/day)in 3-,4-,and 5-week tests.All the groups have male and female distinctions.Our findings demonstrate that B.breve CCFM1078 exerts on the dynamic equilibrium between bone formation and resorption during the critical period of growth in mice by modulating the composition of gut microbiota and metabolites(hexadecanamide,linoleoyl ethanolamide,and palmitoyl ethanolamide),the genes and proteins expression related to the growth hormone(GH)/insulin-like growth factors-1(IGF-1)axis and Gs/PKA/CREB signaling pathways,as well as downstream osteogenic and osteoclastic differentiation factors.The effects of B.breve CCFM1078 were different with age and gender dependent.This finding suggests B.breve CCFM1078 may have potential applications in regulating bone metabolism in the growth period population.

文摘Bifidobacterium longum subsp.infantis and Bifidobacterium adolescentis play important roles in the guts of infants and adolescents,respectively.In this study,using a neonatal rat model,we compared the protective effects of these 2 bifidobacterial species against Salmonella infection.The results demonstrated that B.longum subsp.infantis was more effective than B.adolescentis in alleviating the severity of infection in newborn rats exposed to Salmonella enterica serovar Typhimurium strain SL1344.B.longum subsp.infantis attenuated intestinal inflammation and mucosal damage induced by Salmonella infection,as well as protecting intestinal nerves and intestinal barrier function through TLR4/My D88 signalling.B.longum subsp.infantis also displayed the potential to modulate gut metabolites by promoting the biosynthesis of unsaturated fatty acids(arachidonic acid,eicosapentaenoic acid andα-linolenic acid)and purine metabolism(guanine,adenine,inosine and adenosine),thereby regulating metabolic disturbances.Additionally,the benefits of B.longum subsp.infantis were also observed in the liver,spleen and brain,improving nerve reflexes and suppressing hepatosplenomegaly.Overall,these findings provide novel insights into the prevention and treatment of gutrelated diseases in newborns,highlighting the potentially significant role of B.longum subsp.infantis in clinical applications.

文摘The impact of mother-infant microbiota on neurodevelopment is an area of interest,but longitudinal studies are scarce.Using a cohort of 520 families from the Jiangsu birth cohort in China,we reveal that the maternal gut microbiota during early pregnancy play a substantial role,accounting for 3.34%of the variance in offspring neurodevelopmental scores.This contribution is notably higher than the 1.24%attributed to the infants’own microbiota at 1 year of age,underscoring the significant influence of maternal gut health on early child development.Remarkably,an elevation in maternal Bifidobacterium pseudocatenulatum is linked to decreased cognitive scores,whereas an enrichment of Bifidobacterium longum at 1 year of age is associated with higher cognitive scores.Furthermore,we find that maternal B.pseudocatenulatum is linked to the heterolactic fermentation metabolic pathway,while infant B.longum is associated with the Bifidobacterium shunt pathway.In summary,our analysis implies that maternal and infant gut microbiota play a distinct role in neurodevelopment,suggesting potential strategies for improving neurodevelopmental outcomes during early pregnancy or infant development by targeting gut microbiota composition.

文摘Obesity is a major focus of researchers due to its increasing prevalence and relationship with other diseases,such as cancer and cardiovascular diseases.Probiotics are active microorganisms and have been proven to alleviate obesity by modulating the microbiota.In this study,we found that oral administration of Bifidobacterium adolescentis CCFM8630 to obese mice inhibited high-fat diet(HFD)-induced changes in body weight and adipose tissue and alleviated hepatic oxidative stress.Furthermore,B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment primarily affected the relative abundances of the phyla Proteobacteria and Actinobacteria,and thereby decreased the production of lipopolysaccharide(LPS)and the occurrence of LPS related diseases.A high fiber intake increased the abundance of Lactobacillus and the concentrations of short chain fatty acids in obese mice,but these changes were reversed by B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment.In addition,targeted metabolomic analysis and microbiota relationship analysis revealed that B.adolescentis CCFM8630 treatment modified the microbiota of obese mice by promoting the conversion of tryptophan(Trp)to xanthurenic acid,kynurenic acid,tryptamine,indole-3-acetic acid,and indole-3-carboxaldehyde;facilitated the expression of interleukin-17A and the aryl hydrocarbon receptor to generate interleukin-22 in the colon;and upregulated the expression of tight junction proteins,thereby strengthening intestinal barriers.In summary,our findings suggest that the intake of B.adolescentis CCFM8630 may alleviate obesity by modulating the gut microbiota and related Trp metabolism.
文摘This article discusses the original article published by Lu et al in the latest issue.The article confirmed through a cohort study the clinical efficacy of the triple live bacteria of Bifidobacterium combined with mirtazapine in treating postoperative depression of gastric cancer patients,also explored the multi-target therapeutic mechanisms of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria combined with mirtazapine in managing depression in patients after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer for the first time.The results indicated that Bifidobacterium could alleviate depression in patients after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer.Gastric cancer patients undergoing surgery frequently experience postoperative psychological disorders,notably depression.These conditions not only impair quality of life but also negatively impact disease-free and overall survival.This editorial explores the underestimated psychological challenges following gastric cancer surgery,including depression,anxiety,adjustment disorders,and post-traumatic stress disorder.It further examines the therapeutic potential of Bifidobacterium triple viable probiotics,combined with mirtazapine,in alleviating postoperative depression through microbiological,immunological,and neurological mechanisms.Clinical evidence highlights additional benefits,such as improved gastrointestinal function,enhanced immunity,and better nutritional status,underscoring a holistic approach to postoperative care.While promising,further large-scale trials are needed to optimize and personalize probiotic-based interventions.

文摘Objective:To analyze the efficacy of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets on neonatal necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC)and its impact on serum factors of the patients.Methods:From January 2021 to May 2025,88 neonates with NEC admitted to our hospital were selected as study subjects.During the study,these 88 patients were evenly divided into two groups,namely the observation group and the control group,with 44 patients in each group based on the random number table method.In terms of treatment,the control group was treated with meropenem,while the observation group received additional treatment with Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria powder based on the treatment plan of the control group.The clinical efficacy and differences in serum inflammatory factor levels between the two groups were compared.Results:The efficacy of the observation group(90.91%)was better than that of the control group(72.73%)(P<0.05).After treatment,the levels of C-reactive protein(CRP)and procalcitonin(PCT)in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment,and the values of the above indicators in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Based on conventional treatment for NEC neonates,the use of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria tablets has significant efficacy and can effectively reduce serum inflammatory factor levels.
文摘BACKGROUND Patients with gastric cancer may have a risk of depression after radical surgery,which affects recovery and requires intensive intervention.AIM To explore the role of Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria-assisted mirtazapine in patients with depression after radical surgery for gastric cancer.METHODS This study included 80 patients with gastric cancer who experienced depression after undergoing radical surgery from January 2022 to December 2023 at Jiangnan University Hospital in Wuxi city in Jiangsu province.The patients were categorized into the control group(n=40)treated with mirtazapine and observation group(n=40)treated with combined Bifidobacterium triple viable bacteria-assisted mirtazapine.Neuroendocrine index,intestinal flora level,nutrition status,and patient quality of life were analyzed.RESULTS Before drug index level,no statistically significant difference was observed between the two groups (P>0.05).After drug administration,both groups experienced a decline in depression scores,cortisol,Escherichia coli,Enterococcus faecalis levels,and quality of life scores,whereas dopamine,serotonin,Lactobacillus,Bifidobacteria,hemoglobin,serum albumin and prealbumin levels increased.The observation group demonstrated significantly greater improvements across these indicators,with significant differences within groups and between groups(P<0.05).CONCLUSION Bifidobacterium has a relieving effect on depression in patients after radical surgery for gastric cancer,improves neuroendocrine status,regulates intestinal flora,and improves nutritional status and quality of life.
