Diamond-like AgGaS_(2)(DL AGS),as the typical infrared nonlinear optical(IR NLO)material,has suffered from its intrinsic drawbacks like narrow band gap(E_(g))and low laser-induced damage threshold(LIDT).In this work,b...Diamond-like AgGaS_(2)(DL AGS),as the typical infrared nonlinear optical(IR NLO)material,has suffered from its intrinsic drawbacks like narrow band gap(E_(g))and low laser-induced damage threshold(LIDT).In this work,by first introducing[NaS_(8)]polyhedral unit into the A_(2)^(Ⅰ)Q^(Ⅵ)-Ag_(2)Q^(Ⅵ)-C_(2)^(Ⅲ)Q_(3)^(Ⅵ) system,a new Ag-based sulfide NaAg_(3)Ga_(8)S_(14) with diamond-like framework(DLF)has been successfully synthesized via a high-temperature solid-state method in experiment.The compound shows a wide Eg(~3.0 eV),high LIDT(3.0×AGS)and moderate phase-matching NLO response(~0.7×AGS),effectively balancing the E_(g)(≥3.0 eV)and NLO response(≥0.5×AGS),demonstrating its promise for IR NLO applications.Theoretical calculations elucidate the orbital hybridization between Na 3s,Ag 4d5s and S 3p enhances E_(g),and the aligned NLO-active units([AgS_(4)]and[GaS_(4)])induce moderate NLO response in the compound.These findings not only expand the chemical and structural diversities of Ag-based chalcogenides,but also provide effective strategies for designing DLF functional materials derived from diamond-like structures.展开更多

It was characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, TGA and single-crystal X-ray crystallography. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c with a = 5.546(6), b = 11.985(13), c = 9.952(11) ?, β = 97.522(17)°, V = 655.8(13) ?3, Z = 2, Dc = 1.682 g/cm3, μ(MoKa) = 0.46 mm–1 and F(000) = 340. 5009 reflections were measured and 2893 independent reflections(Rint = 0.051) were used for further refinement. Single-crystal X-ray diffraction reveals that the complex exhibits a threedimensional pseudo tunnel structure consisting of fundamental building block [B(L-(-)-C4H4O5)2]– anions. The small cavities are occupied by the H2O molecules, which stabilize the whole structure by O–H×××O hydrogen bonds. The complex exhibits nonlinear optical effect as high as 1.5 times that of KDP standard.展开更多
Stable porphyrin-oxygenated carbon nanomaterial dispersions were prepared by blending porphyrin solutions with hydroxyl groups modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs-OH)and graphene oxide(GO)dispersions,respecti...Stable porphyrin-oxygenated carbon nanomaterial dispersions were prepared by blending porphyrin solutions with hydroxyl groups modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes(MWNTs-OH)and graphene oxide(GO)dispersions,respectively.Optical nonlinearity and optical limiting(OL)property of these blends are investigated in nanosecond regime.Results show that the OL performance of the blends can be tuned by changing the concentrations ratio of porphyrin and oxygenated carbon nanomaterials.The high concentration of oxygenated carbon nanomaterial leads to the poor OL performance.However,with the moderate concentration,the blends exhibit the low threshold value of OL and the enhanced OL performance at high fluence region.The superior OL performance can be attributed to complementary mechanisms and possible photoinduced electron or energy transfer between porphyrin moiety and oxygenated carbon nanomaterials.展开更多

Fourier transform infrared spectroscopies were performed to study the molecular vibrations of the grown crystal. The optical transmission spectrum shows very low absorption in the entire visible region. hydroxy-4-nitro azobenzene (NHA) and 4-amino-4-nitro azobenzene (DO3) were prepared respectively from p-nitrophenylamine as a precursor compound. Two kinds of doped organic/inorganic hybrid nonlinear optical (NLO) mat...hydroxy-4-nitro azobenzene (NHA) and 4-amino-4-nitro azobenzene (DO3) were prepared respectively from p-nitrophenylamine as a precursor compound. Two kinds of doped organic/inorganic hybrid nonlinear optical (NLO) materials containing NHA and DO3 were synthesized by Sol-Gel process. The preparation and properties of two NLO materials were studied and characterized by FTIR, 1H-NMR, UV-VIS, SEM, DSC and SHG measurements. The results show that the maximum doping amounts of NHA and DO3 in two doped hybrid NLO materials are 7.2(wt)% and 11.3(wt)% respectively, and the corresponding second-order NLO coefficients (d33 values) are 2.91×10 8esu and 6.14×10 8esu. Two doped NLO materials have relatively good RT stability, after 90 days at RT the d33 values can maintain about 85% of their initial values, but after 10h at 100℃ can only maintain about 50% of their initial values. In this report, the reasons for high-temperature instability of doped materials were discussed, and the possible improvements were also suggested.展开更多
With increasing research interests in the field of light-matter interactions,various methods have been developed for regulating nonlinear optical(NLO)materials.However,the design and synthesis of organic molecular mat...With increasing research interests in the field of light-matter interactions,various methods have been developed for regulating nonlinear optical(NLO)materials.However,the design and synthesis of organic molecular materials for second-order nonlinear optics remain a great challenge because of the strict requirement of the materials to possess a noncentrosymmetric structure.In this work,two benzothiadiazole(BTD)derivatives referred to as BTD-H and BTD-F were synthesized,and their NLO properties in the crystalline states were studied.It was found that introducing fluorine into the BTD backbone effectively tuned the crystal packing styles of BTD derivatives to a noncentrosymmetric system for effective second-order NLO responses.Such a strategy to induce the noncentrosymmetric structure by introducing the fluorine atoms and halogen interactions may provide guidance for future engineering of organic NLO molecular materials.展开更多

The grown crystal was c...An organic nonlinear optical (NLO) single crystal has been synthesized by slow solvent evaporation technique from aqueous solutions of L-serine and sodium fluoride (NaF) at ambient temperature. The grown crystal was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The powder X-ray diffraction of the grown crystal was recorded and indexed. The functional groups of the grown crystals were determined by FTIR spectrum. The optical absorption study reveals that the transparency of the crystal in the entire visible region and the lower edge was found to be 258 nm. Relative powder second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the grown crystal was tested by Kurtz and Perry powder technique using high intensity Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm.展开更多

A NLO moiety based on 4-nitro-4 ' -hydroxy azobenzene was covalen...A new organic/inorganic hybrid nonlinear optical (NLO) material was developed by the sol-gel process of an alkoxysilane dye with tetraethoxysilane. A NLO moiety based on 4-nitro-4 ' -hydroxy azobenzene was covalently bonded to the triethoxysilane derivative, i.e, gamma -isocyanatopropyl triethoxysilane. The preparation process and properties of the sol-gel derived NLO polymer were studied and characterized by SEM, FTIR,H-1-NMR, UV-Vis, DSC and second harmonic generation (SHG) measurement. The results indicated that the chemical bonding of the chromophores to the inorganic SiO2 networks induces low dipole alignment relaxation and preferable orientational stability. The SHG measurements also showed that the bonded polymer film containing 75 wt% of the akoxysilane dye has a high electro-optic coefficient (r(33)) of 7.1 pm/V at 1.1 mum wavelength, and exhibit good SHG stability, the r(33) values can maintain about 92.7% of its initial value at room temperature for 90 days, and can maintain about 59.3% at 100 degreesC for 300 min.展开更多

The ...Organic nonlinear optical material of 4-bromo-4’-methyl benzylidene aniline (BMBA) was synthesized and single crystal of BMBA was grown by solvent evaporation method at room temperature using ethanol as solvent. The crystalline nature of the grown crystals was confirmed using powder X-ray diffraction studies. The crystals were also characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction method and their lattice parameters were determined. Thermal properties of BMBA were evaluated with thermogravimetric, differential thermal and differential scanning calorimetric analyses. Fourier transform infrared and FT-Raman spectral studies were carried out on the BMBA material to confirm the synthesized compound. 1H and 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectral studies were recorded to elucidate the structure of the grown crystals. Fluorescence spectrum recorded shows a peak at 485 nm. UV-Vis-NIR spectral analysis shows transmittance of ~92% in the visible region. The mechanical stability was analyzed by Vickers microhardness tester and the work hardening coefficient of the grown crystal was calculated. Second harmonic generation efficiency of the grown crystal measured by Kurtz powder technique is ~1.8 times that of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate.展开更多

Eight stable 2Li-2NH2-GNR lithium salts, especially cis lithium salts, display considerably large β0 values. The combination of NH2-substituting and cis Li-doping makes β0 greatly increased from 0(GNR) to 1.2×105―2.9×105 a.u.(cis-2Li- 2NH2-GNRs). Our largest β0 value(2.9×105 a.u.) for cis-2Li-1,3-2NH2-AGNR is comparable to the record value of 1.7×105 a.u. for a long donor-acceptor polyene.展开更多

Two doped NLO materials have relatively good RT stability, after 90 days at RT the d33 values can maintain about 85% of their initial values, but after 10h at 100℃ can only maintain about 50% of their initial values. In this report, the reasons for high-temperature instability of doped materials were discussed, and the possible improvements were also suggested.

文摘With increasing research interests in the field of light-matter interactions,various methods have been developed for regulating nonlinear optical(NLO)materials.However,the design and synthesis of organic molecular materials for second-order nonlinear optics remain a great challenge because of the strict requirement of the materials to possess a noncentrosymmetric structure.In this work,two benzothiadiazole(BTD)derivatives referred to as BTD-H and BTD-F were synthesized,and their NLO properties in the crystalline states were studied.It was found that introducing fluorine into the BTD backbone effectively tuned the crystal packing styles of BTD derivatives to a noncentrosymmetric system for effective second-order NLO responses.Such a strategy to induce the noncentrosymmetric structure by introducing the fluorine atoms and halogen interactions may provide guidance for future engineering of organic NLO molecular materials.

文摘The design and the synthesis of two conjugated donor acceptor imidazole derivatives(1, 2) were carried out for second order nonlinear optics. The thermal properties, the transparency and second order nonlinear optical properties of the molecules were investigated. The experimental results indicate that a good nonlinearity transparency thermal stability trade off is achieved for them.
文摘An organic nonlinear optical (NLO) single crystal has been synthesized by slow solvent evaporation technique from aqueous solutions of L-serine and sodium fluoride (NaF) at ambient temperature. The grown crystal was confirmed by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The powder X-ray diffraction of the grown crystal was recorded and indexed. The functional groups of the grown crystals were determined by FTIR spectrum. The optical absorption study reveals that the transparency of the crystal in the entire visible region and the lower edge was found to be 258 nm. Relative powder second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the grown crystal was tested by Kurtz and Perry powder technique using high intensity Nd:YAG laser operating at 1064 nm.
文摘A series of novel thermotropic liquid crystalline polyesters bearing nonlinear optical azobenzene side group were synthesized by high temperature solution polycondensation and their structures,thermal stability, phase transition behavior and crystallinity were characterized by IR,elemental analysis, TG-DTA, polarizing optical microscope (POM) equipped with a hot stage and X-ray diffraction techniques. The results demonstrate that all the synthesized polyesters exhibit nematic liquid crystalline phases and show relatively high glass transition temperatures and good thermal stability.

文摘A new organic/inorganic hybrid nonlinear optical (NLO) material was developed by the sol-gel process of an alkoxysilane dye with tetraethoxysilane. A NLO moiety based on 4-nitro-4 ' -hydroxy azobenzene was covalently bonded to the triethoxysilane derivative, i.e, gamma -isocyanatopropyl triethoxysilane. The preparation process and properties of the sol-gel derived NLO polymer were studied and characterized by SEM, FTIR,H-1-NMR, UV-Vis, DSC and second harmonic generation (SHG) measurement. The results indicated that the chemical bonding of the chromophores to the inorganic SiO2 networks induces low dipole alignment relaxation and preferable orientational stability. The SHG measurements also showed that the bonded polymer film containing 75 wt% of the akoxysilane dye has a high electro-optic coefficient (r(33)) of 7.1 pm/V at 1.1 mum wavelength, and exhibit good SHG stability, the r(33) values can maintain about 92.7% of its initial value at room temperature for 90 days, and can maintain about 59.3% at 100 degreesC for 300 min.
文摘Organic nonlinear optical material of 4-bromo-4’-methyl benzylidene aniline (BMBA) was synthesized and single crystal of BMBA was grown by solvent evaporation method at room temperature using ethanol as solvent. The crystalline nature of the grown crystals was confirmed using powder X-ray diffraction studies. The crystals were also characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction method and their lattice parameters were determined. Thermal properties of BMBA were evaluated with thermogravimetric, differential thermal and differential scanning calorimetric analyses. Fourier transform infrared and FT-Raman spectral studies were carried out on the BMBA material to confirm the synthesized compound. 1H and 13C-nuclear magnetic resonance spectral studies were recorded to elucidate the structure of the grown crystals. Fluorescence spectrum recorded shows a peak at 485 nm. UV-Vis-NIR spectral analysis shows transmittance of ~92% in the visible region. The mechanical stability was analyzed by Vickers microhardness tester and the work hardening coefficient of the grown crystal was calculated. Second harmonic generation efficiency of the grown crystal measured by Kurtz powder technique is ~1.8 times that of potassium dihydrogen orthophosphate.

文摘High-pressure research has emerged as a pivotal approach for advancing our understanding and development of optoelectronic materials,which are vital for a wide range of applications,including photovoltaics,light-emitting devices,and photodetectors.This review highlights various in situ characterization methods employed in high-pressure research to investigate the optical,electronic,and structural properties of optoelectronic materials.We explore the advances that have been made in techniques such as X-ray diffraction,absorption spectroscopy,nonlinear optics,photoluminescence spectroscopy,Raman spectroscopy,and photoresponse measurement,emphasizing how these methods have enhanced the elucidation of structural transitions,bandgap modulation,performance optimization,and carrier dynamics engineering.These insights underscore the pivotal role of high-pressure techniques in optimizing and tailoring optoelectronic materials for future applications.
文摘Crystals of DL-threonium trichloroacetate (DLTTCA) was synthesized from an aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. The grown crystals were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV-Vis-NIR and SHG measurements. Vibrational structure of the crystal was elucidated from FTIR analysis and the hydrogen bond interactions were discussed in detail. The ultraviolet transparent cutoff falls at 212 nm. Thermal stability of the compound was also studied. The powder SHG efficiency of the compound was measured as 0.62 times to that of KDP.

文摘This paper reports the synthesis and the nonlinear optical property of a series of new chromophores which contain furan ring as the only conjugation bridge for the first time. They are characterized by UV-VIS, FT-IR, H-1 NMR, MS and elemental analysis. Their dipole moment and the first-order molecular hyperpolarizability (beta) are calculated and compared with those or the analogues containing either benzene or thiophene as file conjugation bridge.

文摘Based on graphene, a new class of second-order nonlinear optical(NLO) material, the lithium salt of NH2-substituted graphene nanoribbon with the twofold donor(D)/acceptor(A) mode, was reported. Eight stable 2Li-2NH2-GNR lithium salts, especially cis lithium salts, display considerably large β0 values. The combination of NH2-substituting and cis Li-doping makes β0 greatly increased from 0(GNR) to 1.2×105―2.9×105 a.u.(cis-2Li- 2NH2-GNRs). Our largest β0 value(2.9×105 a.u.) for cis-2Li-1,3-2NH2-AGNR is comparable to the record value of 1.7×105 a.u. for a long donor-acceptor polyene.
