We show that the states of the second-order system will be stabilized to a region containing the origin. The radius of this region is determined by the control parameters and can be rendered as small as desired. The rigorous stability analysis is also given. Compared with the conventional PD control law, the finite-time control law yields a better disturbance rejection performance. Numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.展开更多

The model’s response (<em>i.e.</em>, model result of interest) is a generic nonlinear function of the model’s forward and adjoint state functions, and also depends on the imprecisely known boundaries and model parameters. In the practically important particular case when the response is a scalar-valued functional of the forward and adjoint state functions characterizing a model comprising N parameters, the 2nd-CASAM requires a single large-scale computation using the First-Level Adjoint Sensitivity System (1st-LASS) for obtaining all of the first-order response sensitivities, and at most N large-scale computations using the Second-Level Adjoint Sensitivity System (2nd-LASS) for obtaining exactly all of the second-order response sensitivities. In contradistinction, forward other methods would require (<em>N</em>2/2 + 3 <em>N</em>/2) large-scale computations for obtaining all of the first- and second-order sensitivities. This work also shows that constructing and solving the 2nd-LASS requires very little additional effort beyond the construction of the 1st-LASS needed for computing the first-order sensitivities. Solving the equations underlying the 1st-LASS and 2nd-LASS requires the same computational solvers as needed for solving (<em>i.e.</em>, “inverting”) either the forward or the adjoint linear operators underlying the initial model. Therefore, the same computer software and “solvers” used for solving the original system of equations can also be used for solving the 1st-LASS and the 2nd-LASS. Since neither the 1st-LASS nor the 2nd-LASS involves any differentials of the operators underlying the original system, the 1st-LASS is designated as a “<u>first-level</u>” (as opposed to a “first-order”) adjoint sensitivity system, while the 2nd-LASS is designated as a “<u>second-level</u>” (rather than a “second-order”) adjoint sensitivity system. Mixed second-order response sensitivities involving boundary parameters may arise from all source terms of the 2nd-LASS that involve the imprecisely known boundary parameters. Notably, the 2nd-LASS encompasses an automatic, inherent, and independent “solution verification” mechanism of the correctness and accuracy of the 2nd-level adjoint functions needed for the efficient and exact computation of the second-order sensitivities.展开更多

Although current methods are effective for solving the static response problem of structures with interval parameters with small uncertainties, these methods may fail to estimate the region of the static response of uncertain structures if the uncertainties in the parameters are fairly large. To resolve this problem, first, the general expression of the static response of structures in terms of structural parameters is derived based on the second-order Taylor series expansion. Then the problem of determining the bounds of the static response of uncertain structures is transformed into a series of quadratic problems with box constraints. These quadratic problems with box constraints can be solved using the DCA approach effectively. The numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed method when comparing with other existing methods.展开更多

In addition, we theoretically explain the importance of the second-order two-scale solution by the error analysis in the pointwise sense. The associated explicit convergence rates are also obtained. Non-linear finite element method and three-node Euler-Bernoulli beam elements were used. Because accuracy is higher in non-linear structural analysis,three-node beam elements are used to deduce shape functions and stiffness matrices in dynamic equations of flexible elements. Static condensation method was used to obtain the finial dynamic equations of three-node beam elements. According to geometrical relations of nodal displacements in concomitant and global coordinate system, dynamic equations of elements can be transformed to global coordinate system by concomitant coordinate method in order to build the global dynamic equations. Analyzed amplitude condition of flexible arm support of a port crane, the results show that second-order effect should be considered in kinetic-elastic analysis for heavy load machinery of big flexibility.展开更多

文摘This paper investigates the reliability of internal marine combustion engines using an integrated approach that combines Fault Tree Analysis(FTA)and Bayesian Networks(BN).FTA provides a structured,top-down method for identifying critical failure modes and their root causes, while BN introduces flexibility in probabilistic reasoning, enabling dynamic updates based on new evidence. This dual methodology overcomes the limitations of static FTA models, offering a comprehensive framework for system reliability analysis.Critical failures, including External Leakage(ELU),Failure to Start(FTS),and Overheating(OHE),were identified as key risks.By incorporating redundancy into high-risk components such as pumps and batteries, the likelihood of these failures was significantly reduced. For instance, redundant pumps reduced the probability of ELU by 31.88%,while additional batteries decreased the occurrence of FTS by 36.45%.The results underscore the practical benefits of combining FTA and BN for enhancing system reliability, particularly in maritime applications where operational safety and efficiency are critical. This research provides valuable insights for maintenance planning and highlights the importance of redundancy in critical systems, especially as the industry transitions toward more autonomous vessels.
文摘To ensure the safe transportation of radioactive materials, numerous countries have established specific standards. For the transfer of fissile materials,it is imperative that the material within the packaging remains in a subcritical state during routine, normal, and accidental transport conditions. In the event of an accident, the rods within the storage tank may become rearranged, introducing uncertainty that must be accounted for to ensure that criticality analysis results are conservative.Historically, this uncertainty was addressed overly conservatively due to limited research on non-uniform arrangement scenarios, which proved unsuitable for criticality safety analysis of spent fuel packages. This paper introduced three distinct methods to non-uniformly rearrange fuel rods—Uniform Arrangement by Blocks,Layer-by-Layer Determination, and Birdcage Deformation—and meticulously evaluates the influences of rod rearrangement on the effective multiplication factor of neutrons,k eff, utilizing the Monte Carlo method.Ultimately, this study presents a holistic method capable of encompassing the entire spectrum of potential effects stemming from the rearrangement of fuel rods during rods mispositioning accident.By augmenting the safety margin, this approach proves to be adeptly suited for the criticality safety analysis of nuclear fuel transport containers.

文摘Industrial waste salts are commonly used to make value-added snow-melting agents to ensure traffic safety in northern China during winter and spring after snowfall. However, heavy metals in industrial waste salts may pose certain environmental risks.Snow-melting agents and snow samples were collected and analyzed from highways, arterial roads, footbridges, and other locations in Beijing after the snowstorm in December 2023.It was found that the main component of snow-melting agents was sodium chloride with high concentrations of Cu,Mn,and Zn,which are not regulated in the current policies, despite the recent promotion of environmentally friendly snow-melting agents. The Pb,Zn and Cr contents of some snow samples exceeded the limitation value of surface water quality standards, potentially affecting the soil and water environment near roadsides, although the snow-melting agents comply with relevant standards, which indicates the policy gap in the management of recycled industrial salts. We reviewed and analyzed the relevant standards for snow-melting agents and industrial waste salts proposed nationally and internationally over the past 30 years.Through comparative analysis,we proposed relevant policy recommendations to the existing quality standards of snow-melting agents and the management regulations of industrial waste salts, and the formulation of corresponding usage strategies, aimed at reducing the potential environmental release of heavy metals from the use of snow-melting agents, thereby promoting more sustainable green urban development and environmentally sound waste management.

文摘In this paper, using finite-time control method, we consider the disturbance analysis of a second-order system with unknown but bounded disturbance. Numerical simulation results show the effectiveness of the method.
文摘Background:Epidemiological studies have confirmed that longer exposure to insecticides like cypermethrin(CYP)significantly increases the risk of male reproductive toxicity.Crocus sativus L.has been recognized due to its therapeutic properties, but its exact role and molecular mechanisms in treatment of reproductive dysfunction remain unclear. Methods:During this study,36 rats were randomly divided into six groups(n=6):control,CYP-induced(60 mg/kg),standard(leuprolide 3 mg/kg)and three treatment groups receiving aqueous, ethanolic, and oil extracts(50 mg/kg or 20 mL/kg)for post-toxicity induction. Results:The finding represented that exposure of CYP significantly increased oxidative stress, disrupted testicular architecture, and markedly reduced testosterone levels(P<0.05).Importantly,Crocus sativus L.treatment alleviated these changes by increasing the expression of Nrf2(nuclear factor erythroid 2-related factor 2),restoring the activity of antioxidant enzymes, and enhancing testicular histomorphology.Surprisingly, molecular docking established a high binding affinity of Crocus sativus L.phytoconstituents such as gallic acid, cinnamic acid and quercetin to the Nrf2-Keap1 complex. It is worth noting that,Crocus sativus L.exhibited a high level of protection against reproductive toxicity caused by CYP in male rats, which was mediated by the activation of Nrf2 pathway, reduction of oxidative damage, and favorable ADMET characteristics. Conclusion:Notably, this research provides a more valid, safe, and effective method of developing new drugs for reproductive disorders, however, further investigation is needed to support the research findings and implement it in clinical practice.
文摘This work presents the “Second-Order Comprehensive Adjoint Sensitivity Analysis Methodology (2nd-CASAM)” for the efficient and exact computation of 1st- and 2nd-order response sensitivities to uncertain parameters and domain boundaries of linear systems. Notably, the 2nd-LASS encompasses an automatic, inherent, and independent “solution verification” mechanism of the correctness and accuracy of the 2nd-level adjoint functions needed for the efficient and exact computation of the second-order sensitivities.

文摘In this paper, based on the second-order Taylor series expansion and the difference of convex functions algo- rithm for quadratic problems with box constraints (the DCA for QB), a new method is proposed to solve the static response problem of structures with fairly large uncertainties in interval parameters. The numerical examples are given to illustrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the proposed method when comparing with other existing methods.

文摘An HPLC-DAD method combined with second-order calibration based on the alternating trilinear decomposition(ATLD)algorithm with the aid of region selection was developed to simultaneously and quantitatively characterize the synergistic relationships and cumulative excretion of the four bioactive ingredients of Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae in vivo.Although the analytes spectra substantially overlapped with that of the biological matrix, the overlapping profiles between analytes and co-eluting interferences can be successfully separated and accurately quantified by the ATLD method on the basis of the strength of region selection. The proposed approach not only determined the content change but also revealed the synergistic relationships and the cumulative excretion in vivo of the four ingredients in urine and feces samples collected at different excretion time intervals. In addition, several statistical parameters were employed to evaluate the accuracy and precision of the method.Quantitative results were confirmed by HPLC-mass spectrometry.Satisfactory results indicated that the proposed approach can be utilized to investigate the pharmacokinetics of Radix Gentianae Macrophyllae excretion in vivo.

文摘With the two-scale expansion technique proposed by Yoshizawa, the turbulent fluctuating field is expanded around the isotropic field. At a low-order two-scale expansion, applying the mode coupling approximation in the Yakhot-Orszag renormalization group method to analyze the fluctuating field, the Reynolds-average terms in the Reynolds stress transport equation, such as the convective term, the pressure-gradient-velocity correlation term and the dissipation term, are modeled. Two numerical examples:turbulent flow past a backward-facing step and the fully developed flow in a rotating channel, are presented for testing the efficiency of the proposed second-order model. For these two numerical examples, the proposed model performs as well as the Gibson-Launder (GL) model, giving better prediction than the standard k-ε model, especially in the abilities to calculate the secondary flow in the backward-facing step flow and to capture the asymmetric turbulent structure caused by frame rotation.

文摘We study the hyperbolic–parabolic equations with rapidly oscillating coefficients. The formal second-order two-scale asymptotic expansion solutions are constructed by the multiscale asymptotic analysis. In addition, we theoretically explain the importance of the second-order two-scale solution by the error analysis in the pointwise sense. The associated explicit convergence rates are also obtained. Then a second-order two-scale numerical method based on the Newmark scheme is presented to solve the equations. Finally, some numerical examples are used to verify the effectiveness and efficiency of the multiscale numerical algorithm we proposed.

文摘To effectively extract multi-scale information from observation data and improve computational efficiency,a multi-scale second-order autoregressive recursive filter(MSRF)method is designed. The second-order autoregressive filter used in this study has been attempted to replace the traditional first-order recursive filter used in spatial multi-scale recursive filter(SMRF)method. The experimental results indicate that the MSRF scheme successfully extracts various scale information resolved by observations. Moreover, compared with the SMRF scheme, the MSRF scheme improves computational accuracy and efficiency to some extent. The MSRF scheme can not only propagate to a longer distance without the attenuation of innovation, but also reduce the mean absolute deviation between the reconstructed sea ice concentration results and observations reduced by about 3.2%compared to the SMRF scheme. On the other hand, compared with traditional first-order recursive filters using in the SMRF scheme that multiple filters are executed, the MSRF scheme only needs to perform two filter processes in one iteration, greatly improving filtering efficiency. In the two-dimensional experiment of sea ice concentration, the calculation time of the MSRF scheme is only 1/7 of that of SMRF scheme. This means that the MSRF scheme can achieve better performance with less computational cost, which is of great significance for further application in real-time ocean or sea ice data assimilation systems in the future.
文摘Dynamic equations of motional flexible beam elements were derived considering second-order effect. Analyzed amplitude condition of flexible arm support of a port crane, the results show that second-order effect should be considered in kinetic-elastic analysis for heavy load machinery of big flexibility.

文摘This paper studies the Browder-Tikhonov regularization of a second-order evolution hemivariational inequality (SOEHVI) with non-coercive operators. With duality mapping, the regularized formulations and a derived first-order evolution hemivariational inequality (FOEHVI) for the problem considered are presented. By applying the Browder-Tikhonov regularization method to the derived FOEHVI, a sequence of regularized solutions to the regularized SOEHVI is constructed, and the strong convergence of the whole sequence of regularized solutions to a solution to the problem is proved.

文摘This paper discusses a statistical second-order two-scale(SSOTS) analysis and computation for a heat conduction problem with a radiation boundary condition in random porous materials.Firstly, the microscopic configuration for the structure with random distribution is briefly characterized.Secondly, the SSOTS formulae for computing the heat transfer problem are derived successively by means of the construction way for each cell. Then, the statistical prediction algorithm based on the proposed two-scale model is described in detail. Finally, some numerical experiments are proposed, which show that the SSOTS method developed in this paper is effective for predicting the heat transfer performance of porous materials and demonstrating its significant applications in actual engineering computation.
