The second-order effect of axial force on horizontal vibrating characteristics of a large-diameter pipe pile is theoretically investigated.Governing equations of the pile-soil system are established based on elastodynamics.Threedimensional wave equations of soil are decoupled through differential transformation and variable separation.Consequently,expressions of soil displacements and horizontal resistances can be obtained.An analytical solution of the pile is derived based on continuity conditions between the pile and soil,subsequently from which expressions of the complex impedances are deduced.Analyses are carried out to examine the second-order effect of axial force on the horizontal vibrating behavior of the pipe pile.Some conclusions can be summarized as follows: stiffness and damping factors are decreased with the application of axial force on the pile head; distributions of the pile horizontal displacement and rotation angle are regenerated due to the second-order effect of the applied axial force; and redistributions of the bending moment and shearing force occur due to the second-order effect of the applied axial force. 展开更多

A chiral lanthanide metal-organic framework based on enantiopure camphoric acid (D-H2cam), [Nd3(D-cam)8(H2O)4Cl]n (1), has been synthesized and characterized by single-crystal X-ray structural analysis, elemental analysis, IR, thermal gravimetric, and X-ray powder diffraction. Crystal data for the title compound are as follows: orthorhombic system, space group P212121 with a = 13.8287(7), b = 14.0715(7), c = 25.7403(12) A^°, V = 5008.8(4) A^°3, Mr = 1333.08, Z = 4, F(000) = 2644, Dc = 1.768 g/cm^3, μ(MoKα) = 3.189 mm^-1, the final R = 0.0351 and wR = 0.0814 (I 〉 2σ(I)). Compound 1 displays an 8-connected bcu topology 3D framework and hydrogen-bonding interactions stabilize the solid-state structure. The vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectrum and second-order nonlinear optical effect of compound 1 have been studied in the solid state. 展开更多

Low-frequency signals have been proven valuable in the fields of target detection and geological exploration.Nevertheless,the practical implementation of these signals is hindered by large antenna diameters,limiting their potential applications.Therefore,it is imperative to study the creation of lowfrequency signals using antennas with suitable dimensions.In contrast to conventional mechanical antenna techniques,our study generates low-frequency signals in the spatial domain utilizing the principle of the Doppler effect.We also defines the antenna array architecture,the timing sequency,and the radiating element signal waveform,and provides experimental prototypes including 8/64 antennas based on earlier research.In the conducted experiments,121 MHz,40 MHz,and 10 kHz composite signals are generated by 156 MHz radiating element signals.The composite signal spectrum matches the simulations,proving our low-frequency signal generating method works.This holds significant implications for research on generating low-frequency signals with small-sized antennas. 展开更多

In this paper,we investigate the photon correlations and the statistical properties of light produced by an optical cavity with an embedded quantum well interacting with squeezed light.We show that the squeezed source substantially improves the intensity of the emitted light and generates a narrowing and a duplication of the spectrum peaks.With a strong dependence on frequency detuning,the cavity produces considerably squeezed radiation,and perfect squeezing is predicted for weak light–matter interactions.Furthermore,the system under consideration presents a bunching effect of the transmitted radiation resulting from weak pumping of the coherent field.The results obtained may have potential applications in the fields of very accurate measurement and quantum computing. 展开更多

We theoretically study the effect of Kerr effect on the second-order nonlinearity induced transparency in a double-resonant optical cavity system.We show that in the presence of the Kerr effect,as the strength of the Kerr effect increases,the absorption curve exhibits an asymmetric-symmetric-asymmetric transition,and the zero absorption point shifts with the increase of the Kerr effect.Furthermore,by changing the strength of the Kerr effect,we can control the width of the transparent window,and the position of the zero-absorption point and meanwhile change the left and right width of the absorption peak.The asymmetry absorption curve can be employed to improve the quality factor of the cavity when the frequency detuning is tuned to be around the right peak.The simple dependence of the zeroabsorption point on the strength of Kerr effect suggests that the strength of Kerr effect can be measured by measuring the position of the zero-absorption point in a possible application. 展开更多

Because accuracy is higher in non-linear structural analysis,three-node beam elements are used to deduce shape functions and stiffness matrices in dynamic equations of flexible elements. Static condensation method was used to obtain the finial dynamic equations of three-node beam elements. According to geometrical relations of nodal displacements in concomitant and global coordinate system,dynamic equations of elements can be transformed to global coordinate system by concomitant coordinate method in order to build the global dynamic equations. Analyzed amplitude condition of flexible arm support of a port crane,the results show that second-order effect should be considered in kinetic-elastic analysis for heavy load machinery of big flexibility. 展开更多

Large magnetic entropy change(△S_(M))can realize a prominent heat transformation under the magnetic field and directly strengthen the efficacy of the magnetocaloric effect,which provides a pioneering environmentally friendly solidstate strategy to improve refrigeration capacities and efficiencies.The second-order magnetic transition(SOMT)materials have broader△S_(M) peaks without thermal hysteresis,making them highly attractive in magnetic refrigeration,especially in the room temperature range.Here,we report a significant enhancement of△S_(M) at room temperature in single-crystal Mn_(5)Ge_(3).In this SOMT system,we realize a 60%improvement of-△S_(M)^(max) from 3.5 J/kg·K to 5.6 J/kg·K at T=300 K.This considerable enhancement of△S_(M) is achieved by intentionally introducing strain energy through high-pressure constrained deformation.Both experimental results and Monte Carlo simulations demonstrate that the enhancement of△S_(M) originates from the microscopic strain and lattice deformation induced by strain energy after deformation.This strain energy will reconstruct the energy landscape of this ferromagnetic system and enhance magnetization,resulting in a giant intensity of magnetocaloric responses.Our findings provide an approach to increase magnetic entropy change and may give fresh ideas for exploring advanced magnetocaloric materials. 展开更多

The Doppler effect is widely used in radar signal processing. The transverse motion of the object cannot change the one-order phase of the echo, but the high-order phase. The high-order Doppler effect of the transverse moving target is presented and a new algorithm for obtaining the transverse velocity is given. The scalar velocity of a target moving steadily in any direction can be calculated with one-order and two-order items of the echo phase. The calculating method and simulating results are given. As the transverse speed is 900 km/h, the speed calculation error is less than 0. 06% if SNR of echo signal is higher than 0 dB. 展开更多

In this study we performed a classical spectrum analysis of seismic waveforms recorded at far field stations of the great MW7.9 Wenchuan earthquake to observe the shifts of the corner frequency with azimuth due to the Doppler effect.Our results show that this damaging great earthquake had a dominating rupture propagation direction of 64.0°.The equivalent radius of the fault rupture surface was estimated to be 33 km,yielding the rupture area of about 3 500 km2.Thus the length of the rupture fault surface is about 230 km if the depth(or width) extent is 15 km.The computer program developed in this study can quickly provide the information about the source of a future large(damaging) earthquake,which could be very useful for predicting aftershocks and planning the rescue operations. 展开更多

It is shown that when the Doppler broadening is present, generally speaking, the values of gain and intensity of lasing without inversion (i.e. the probe field) in the co-propagating probe and driving fields case are much larger than those in the counter-propagating case; considerably larger gain and intensity of lasing without inversion than those without the Doppler broadening can be obtained by choosing appropriate values of the Doppler broadening width and spontaneously generated coherence strength. The gain and intensity of lasing without inversion increase with the increase of spontaneously generated coherence strength; when spontaneously generated coherence is present, much larger gain and intensity of lasing without inversion than those in the case without spontaneously generated coherence can be obtained. Choosing suitable values of the probe detuning, Rabi frequencies of the driving and pump fields at the entrance of the medium also can remarkably enhance the gain and intensity of lasing without inversion. 展开更多

Pulse echo accumulation is commonly employed in coherent Doppler wind LiDAR(light detection and ranging)under the assumption of steady wind.Here,the measured spectral data are analyzed in the time dimension and frequency dimension to cope with the temporal wind shear and achieve the optimal accumulation time.A hardware-efficient algorithm combining the interpolation and cross-correlation is used to enhance the wind retrieval accuracy by reducing the frequency sampling interval and then reduce the spectral width calculation error.Moreover,the temporal broadening effect and spatial broadening effect are decoupled according to the strategy we developed. 展开更多

The optical rotational Doppler effect associated with orbital angular momentum provides a new means for rotational velocity detection.In this paper,we investigate the influence of atmospheric turbulence on the rotational Doppler effect.First,we deduce the generalized formula of the rotational Doppler shift in atmospheric turbulence by mode decomposition.It is found that the rotational Doppler signal frequency spectrum will be broadened,and the bandwidth is related to the turbulence intensity.In addition,as the propagation distance increases,the bandwidth also increases.And when C_(n)^(2)≤5×10^(-15)m^(-2/3)and 2z≤2 km,the rotational Doppler signal frequency spectrum width d and the spiral spectrum width d_(0)satisfy the relationship d=2d_(0-1).Finally,we analyze the influence of mode crosstalk on the rotational Doppler effect,and the results show that it destroys the symmetrical distribution of the rotational Doppler spectrum about 2l·Ω/2π.This theoretical model enables us to better understand the generation of the rotational Doppler frequency and may help us better analyze the influence of the complex atmospheric environment on the rotational Doppler frequency. 展开更多

A laser coherent detection system of 1550 nm wavelength was presented, and experimen- tal research on detecting micro-Doppler effect in a dynamic target was developed. In the study, the return signal in the time domain is decomposed into a set of components in different wavelet scales by multi-resolution wavelet analysis, and the components are associated with the vibrational motions in a target. Then micro-Doppler signatures are extracted by applying the reconstruction. During the course of the final data processing frequency analysis and time-frequency analysis are applied to analyze the vibrationM signals and estimate the motion parameters successfully. The experimental results indicate that the system can effectively detect micro-Doppler information in a moving target, and the tiny vibrational signatures also can be acquired effectively by wavelet multi-resolution analy- sis and time-frequency analysis. 展开更多

The propagation of HF waves in IAR can produce many nonlinear effects, including the modulation effect of IAR on HF waves and the Doppler effect. To start with the dependence of the ionospheric electron temperature variations on the Alfvén resonant field, We discuss the mechanism of the modulation effect and lucubrate possible reasons for the Doppler effect. The results show that the Alfvén resonant field can have an observable modulation effect on HF waves while its mechanism is quite different from that of Schumann resonant field on HF waves. The depth of modulation of IAR on HF waves has a quasi\|quadratic relation with the Alfvén field, which directly inspires the formation of cross\|spectrum between ULF waves and HF waves and results in spectral peaks at some gyro\|frequencies of IAR.
