Activities of space materials science research in China have been continuously supported by two main national programs. One is the China Space Station(CSS)program since 1992,and the other is the Strategic Priority Program(SPP)on Space Science since 2011.In CSS plan in 2019,eleven space materials science experimental projects were officially approved for execution during the construction of the space station. In the SPP Phase Ⅱ launched in 2018,seven pre-research projects are deployed as the first batch in 2018,and one concept study project in 2019.These pre-research projects will be cultivated as candidates for future selection as space experiment projects on the recovery of scientific experimental satellites in the future.A new apparatus of electrostatic levitation system for ground-based research of space materials science and rapid solidification research has been developed under the support of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. In order to promote domestic academic activities and to enhance the advancement of space materials science in China, the Space Materials Science and Technology Division belong to the Chinese Materials Research Society was established in 2019.We also organized scientists to write five review papers on space materials science as a special topic published in the journal Scientia Sinica to provide valuable scientific and technical references for Chinese researchers. 展开更多

Young children are in the initial stage of mental thinking development. Therefore, when carrying out scientific education activities, young teachers should make reasonable use of the surrounding environment and educational resources, and create a scientific teaching environment that meets the psychological characteristics and thinking needs of young children according to their physical and mental development laws. Teachers should also play their own guiding role to lead children into scientific exploration, so as to enable children to construct scientific concepts, enhance scientific experience and develop scientific attitudes in scientific exploration, thus effectively cultivating children's scientific literacy. Based on this, this article will think about the significance and current situation of science education activities in kindergartens. 展开更多

General Secretary Xi pointed out at the conference of academicians of the Chinese academy of sciences: "People are the most critical factor in scientific and technological innovation. Innovative career calls for innovative talents. To lead the world in scientific and technological innovation, China must discover talents in innovation practices, cultivate talents in innovation activities and pool talents in innovation undertakings." The grand blueprint of "accelerating the building of an innovative country" described in the report of the 19th CPC National Congress is desirable. Chongqing youth science and technology model competition is a traditional competition project which is jointly sponsored by Chongqing science and technology association and Chongqing education commission. The event has been held every year since 1990 and has been held for 24 consecutive years. This paper summarizes the development situation of the 24th Chongqing youth science and technology model competition "Electronic Baipin", analyzes the data of the competition, summarizes the experience of the competition, in order to provide reference for the future holding of related competitions. 展开更多

Volunteer activities based on national parks represent a crucial pathway for public participation in the construction of ecological civilization,as well as an important means for national parks to achieve public welfare goals.Hainan National Park science popularization and education volunteers were invited to participate in a questionnaire survey, yielding 437 valid responses.PLS-SEM was employed to test the conceptual model of“learning outcomes-meaningfulness/environmental passion-daily pro-environmental behavior”.The findings indicate that learning outcomes(knowledge accumulation, skill cultivation, changes in environmental attitude, and self-reflection)positively influence both meaningfulness and environmental passion;meaningfulness positively influences environmental passion;and both meaningfulness and environmental passion positively affect daily pro-environmental behavior.Specifically, meaningfulness mediates the relationships between knowledge accumulation, changes in environmental attitude,self-reflection,and daily pro-environmental behavior, while environmental passion mediates the relationships between knowledge accumulation, skill cultivation, changes in environmental attitude,self-reflection,and daily pro-environmental behavior. This study clarifies the connotations and dimensions of learning outcomes from national park science popularization and education volunteer activities and enriches research on the mechanisms promoting pro-environmental behavior. Moreover,it provides valuable practical implications for national parks. 展开更多

The issue of the extremely imbalanced gender ratio in preschool teachers has received widespread attention, and there are few studies on teacher-child verbal interaction behavior based on gender differences in preschool teachers. This article takes the“Little Light Bulb Is On”,a scientific exploration activity done by 5-6 years old kindergarten students as an example, and uses the improved Flanders Interaction Analysis System(iFIAS)as a tool to analyze the speech interaction behavior of male and female preschool teachers. The research results indicate that there are gender differences in teacher child language interaction between male and female teachers in terms of the atmosphere, the teaching structure, the teaching tendency, the way of raising questions, and the overall trend of interaction. 展开更多

Science recreation workshops(SRWs) create dynamic experiences in which participants discover, explore and understand natural phenomena. This serves as a unique and valuable means of the public communication of science and technology and informal science education activities, with the public at the centre of the process. To achieve this, SRWs integrate action and reflection not as a dichotomy, but as a complementary relation in which sensorial interaction is not a thoughtless process and mental activity is not disembodied. In this way, SRWs create virtuous cycles of meaningful learning. However, SRW practitioners thus far have not paid enough attention to the development of a theoretical foundation to support their strategies;they remain highly dependent on empirical experience and tacit knowledge. The little attention paid to the creation of a conceptual framework represents a critical barrier for reflection, discussion and, with them, the maturation of the SRW community. This work links a characterization of the SRW, built upon empirical experiences, to a variety of learning theories to identify an essential basis for discussion on the subject. Our objective is to complement the rich empirical tradition of the SRW with analytic elements intended to encourage discussion and promote—as tends to happen in activities with the public—virtuous cycles of theory and practice. 展开更多
