Methods The method recommended in the Cochrane Collaboration was used for the systematic evaluation of the randomized controlled trials (RCTs) of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Results One thousand three hundred and ninety-five cases from 13 papers in Chinese version were in compliance with the inclusive criteria and all of them were the low-quality trials. The results of the included 5 trials in Meta analysis indicated that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture was superior to medication in the treatment of ischemic stroke (RR=1.27, 95% CI 1.06, 1.51). The results of 3 trials in Meta analysis suggested that the recovery in the nerve function defect of the patients with ischemic stroke treated with scalp acupuncture was apparent as compared with medication (WMD = -2.96, 95% C1-4.00, -1.92). The results of 5 trials in Meta analysis showed that the efficacy of scalp acupuncture on ischemic stroke was potentially superior to body acupuncture (RR=I.10, 95% CI 0.93, 1.28). Conclusion It is seen in the Meta analysis results of the included 13 RCTs that scalp acupuncture achieves the definite efficacy on ischemic stroke. Due to the limitation of the inclusive numbers and quality of the research, especially the lack of long-term indices, the conclusion reliability of this research is relatively low. Hence, it is required much more evidences for a further confirmation from the large scale and multiple central RCTs with high quality and intrinsic authenticity.展开更多

In the International Standard Scalp Acupuncture system, acupuncture needles are applied at the middle line of the vertex, anterior parietal-temporal oblique line, and the posterior parietal-temporal oblique line. We conducted a single-arm prospective clinical trial in which seven healthy elderly volunteers (three men and four women;50–70 years old) received International Standard Scalp Acupuncture at MS5 (the mid-sagittal line between Baihui (DU20) and Qianding (DU21)), the left MS6 (line joining Sishencong (EX-HN1) and Xuanli (GB6)), and the left MS7 (line joining DU20 and Qubin (GB7)). After acupuncture, resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging demonstrated changes in the fractional amplitude of low frequency fluctuations and regional homogeneity in various areas, showing remarkable enhancement of regional homogeneity in the bilateral anterior cingulate, left medial frontal gyrus, supramarginal gyrus, right middle frontal gyrus, and inferior frontal gyrus. Functional connectivity based on a seed region at the right middle frontal gyrus (42, 51, 9) decreased at the bilateral medial superior frontal gyrus. Our data preliminarily indicates that the international standard scalp acupuncture in healthy elderly participants specifcally enhances the correlation between the brain regions involved in cognition and implementation of the brain network regulation system and the surrounding adjacent brain regions. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the China-Japan Union Hospital at Jilin University, China, on July 18, 2016 (approval No. 2016ks043).展开更多

In this study, we performed acupuncture on 30 patients with hemiplegia due to acute ischemic stroke. All participants were pre-screened to ensure that they exhibited immediate responses to acupuncture. We used a twirling reinforcing acupuncture manipulation at the specific lines between the bilateral Baihui(GV20) and Taiyang(EX-HN5). We collected neurologic deficit score, simplified Fugl-Meyer assessment score, muscle strength of the proximal and distal hemiplegic limbs, ratio of the maximal H-reflex to the maximal M-wave(Hmax/Mmax), muscle tension at baseline and immediately after treatment, and the syndromes of traditional Chinese medicine at baseline. We then conducted data mining using an association algorithm and an artificial neural network backpropagation algorithm. We found that the twirling reinforcing manipulation had no obvious therapeutic difference in traditional Chinese medicine syndromes of "Deficiency and Excess". The change in the muscle strength of the upper distal and lower proximal limbs was one of the main factors affecting the immediate change in Fugl-Meyer scores. Additionally, we found a positive correlation between the muscle tension change of the upper limb and Hmax/Mmax immediate change, and both positive and negative correlations existed between the muscle tension change of the lower limb and immediate Hmax/Mmax change. Additionally, when the difference value of muscle tension for the upper and lower limbs was 〉 0 or 〈 0, the difference value of Hmax/Mmax was correspondingly positive or negative, indicating the scalp acupuncture has a bidirectional effect on muscle tension in hemiplegic limbs. Therefore, acupuncture with twirling reinforcing manipulation has distinct effects on acute ischemic stroke patients with different symptoms or stages of disease. Improved muscle tension in the upper and lower limbs, reflected by the variation in the Hmax/Mmax ratio, is crucial for recovery of motor function from hemiplegia.展开更多

METHODS: Totally 74 patients with acute ischemic stroke were enrolled and divided into either body acupuncture (Control) or electro-scalp acupuncture (ESA) groups according to randomized controlled principle. The patients in the control group were given body acupuncture treatment once daily for 28 d, whereas except for the body acupuncture, electro-scalp acupuncture was additional treatment given to the ESA group. Neurological deficits, everyday motor function and muscle strength were evaluated at baseline and the 28th d by NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), FugI-Meyer Assessment (FMA) and Modified Barthel Index Score (MBI), respectively. RESULTS: There were not obvious between-group differences in the baseline efficacy parameters (NI- HSS, FMA and MBI) (all P 〉 0.05), whereas signifi- cant between-group differences were found in post-treatment NIHSS, FMA-UE and MBI scores (all P 〈 0.05). After acupuncture treatment, systematic within-group improvements were found in the two groups for any of the efficacy parameters assessed (all P 〈 0.01), and the ESA group showed higher significant improvements in NIHSS, FMA-UE and MBI scores (all P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: Electro-scalp acupuncture was efficacious in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, which resulted in meaningful improvements in neurologic function, motor function and activities of daily living of patients.展开更多

Methods One hundred patients with intractable hiccup were divided into treatment group(acupuncture combined with herb decoction group) and control group(western medicine group) according to the random number table method with 50 patients in each group. In treatment group, scalp acupuncture was conducted in the gastric area and thoracic area of patients, and Hiccup Decoction was taken orally. In control group, anisodamine(654-2) was injected intramuscularly in the dosage of l0 mg. The treatment was conducted for once a day in each group, and treatment for three consecutive times was needed. The number of times and the frequency of hiccup were observed after each treatment, and the results were compared. The standard of therapeutic effectiveness was evaluated by the number of hiccups decreased. Results In treatment group, the total cure rate was 54%, and the total effective rate was 84%, in control group, the total cure rate was 32%, and the total effective rate was 66%. According to the comparison between the two groups in the cure rate and total effective rate, the differences were statistically significant(both P〈0.05). After the first treatment, there was no statistical difference according to the comparison between the two groups in the cure rate and total effective rate(both P〈0.05), after the second treatment, the differences were statistically significant according to the comparison between the two groups in the cure rate and total effective rate(both P〈0.05), and the efficacy in treatment group was obviously superior to that in control group, after the third treatment, there was no statistical difference according to the comparison between the two groups in the cure rate and total effective rate(both P〈0.05). Conclusion In the one course of treatment, the efficacy of acupuncture combined with herb decoction for treatment of intractable hiccup was obviously superior to that of intramuscular injection with anisodamine. The therapeutic effect of intramuscular injection with anisodamine for treatment of intractable hiccup was the best at the first treatment, and the therapeutic effect of acupuncture combined with herb decoction was the best at the second treatment.展开更多

Nevertheless, it is not clear whether and how disrupting the Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway changes the pathogenic processes of the blood–brain barrier(BBB) after intracerebral hemorrhage(ICH). The present investigation included the injection of rat caudal vein blood into the basal ganglia area to replicate the pathophysiological conditions caused by ICH. Methods: Scalp acupuncture(SA) therapy was performed on rats with ICH at the acupuncture point “Baihui”-penetrating “Qubin,” and the ROCK selective inhibitor fasudil was used as a positive control to evaluate the inhibitory effect of acupuncture on the Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway. Post-assessments included neurological deficits, brain edema, Evans blue extravasation, Western blot, quantitative polymerase chain reaction, and transmission electron microscope imaging. Results: We found that ROCK Ⅱ acts as a promoter of the Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway, and its expression increased at 6 h after ICH, peaked at 3 days, and then decreased at 7 days after ICH, but was still higher than the preintervention level. According to some experimental results, although 3 days is the peak, 7 days is the best time point for acupuncture treatment. Starting from 6 h after ICH, the neurovascular structure and endothelial cell morphology around the hematoma began to change. Based on the changes in the promoter ROCK Ⅱ, a 7-day time point was selected as the breakthrough point for treating ICH model rats in the main experiment. The results of this experiment showed that both SA at “Baihui”-penetrating “Qubin” and treatment with fasudil could improve the expression of endothelial-related proteins by inhibiting the Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway and reduce neurological dysfunction, brain edema, and BBB permeability in rats. Conclusion: This study found that these experimental data indicated that SA at “Baihui”-penetrating “Qubin” could preserve BBB integrity and neurological function recovery after ICH by inhibiting Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway activation and by regulating endothelial cell–related proteins.展开更多

文摘Speculative behaviors have burgeoned in various business settings whereby it is costly for consumers to purchase directly from sellers. This paper examines the values of two typical speculative behaviors, scalping and line-sitting,against a backdrop of markets with resale. We establish a two-stage model in which a monopolist seller sells an item(product or service)to consumers in the first stage, and the item can be traded on a resale platform in the second stage.Speculators have no interests in consumption but incur lower costs in pm-chasing and reselling processes than consumers. In the scalping model, they buy the item first and resell it later to make profits. In the line-sitting model, they earn incomes by serving as surrogates of consumers in purchasing. We first find whether the two phenomena emerge critically depends on the value of consumers'entry cost. Our main results indicate that both speculative behaviors can bring benefits to the seller and resale platform by a demand expansion effect, although through different mechanisms.Under scalping, the entry of speculators as additional buyers always boosts demand in both stages, and achieves a win-win outcome for the seller and platform, although less consumers remain in the market and the resale price decreases.Under line-sitting,demand is enlarged and profits rise in both stages, only when consumers find purchasing directly more time-and money-consuming,because they need to pay an extra service fee to speculators. Moreover, the consumer population gets better off from the two speculative behaviors when their entry cost is relatively high. When both models emerge, scalping may be preferable to line-sitting for the seller, resale platform and consumers,if the cost advantage of speculators in resale transactions is more evident.
文摘Take care of your hair to help it stay clean, strong and healthy.Wash your hair when it gets dirty, but not too often. For most people, that means every two to three days.People with oily hair wash it every one to two days.Use a brush or comb to keep your hair neat and smooth. It's also important to be gentle so you don't pull or break your hair.Never go to bed with wet hair.It can break easily when you sleep.Dry it before bed!
文摘Background:Traditional synthetic surfactants used in shampoos, such as sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS),raise significant environmental and dermatological concerns due to their poor biodegradability, high irritation potential, and petrochemical origin. In contrast, biosurfactants offer eco-friendly,skin-compatible alternatives that align with green chemistry principles and support sustainable personal care. Objective:This review aims to critically evaluate the functional, environmental, and dermatological performance of microbial biosurfactants, particularly rhamnolipids and sophorolipids,as sustainable alternatives to synthetic surfactants in shampoo formulations. Methods:A comprehensive analysis of published research was conducted to assess biosurfactant properties, production methods, comparative cleansing and foaming efficacy, biodegradability, skin compatibility, and formulation challenges. The review includes physicochemical data,in vitro and in vivo performance metrics, and case examples from commercial products. Results:Rhamnolipids and sophorolipids demonstrated sebum removal efficiencies of 85–95%,foam volume retention above 75%,and biodegradability rates of 60–95%within 7–14 days. They exhibited lower irritation indices(<1.0)and caused≤10%protein loss in skin models,in contrast to SLS,which caused up to 40%protein denaturation. However, biosurfactant integration is challenged by higher costs($20–40/kg),pH sensitivity, and limited consumer familiarity.Formulation strategies such as hybrid surfactant systems,pH buffering, and synergistic blends were reviewed to overcome these barriers. Conclusion:Biosurfactants offer a promising path toward microbiome-friendly,sustainable shampoos without compromising cleansing or sensory performance. To enable broader adoption, efforts must focus on improving fermentation efficiency, optimizing formulation stability, and educating consumers.Strategic positioning of biosurfactants based on their unique functional profiles can help meet evolving demands for eco-conscious and dermatologically gentle hair care.

文摘Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of scalp acupuncture in the treatment of ischemic stroke. Hence, it is required much more evidences for a further confirmation from the large scale and multiple central RCTs with high quality and intrinsic authenticity.
文摘Objective To observe the effect of scalp acupuncture on the treatment of children with cerebral palsy(CP).Methods Thirty-six children in the USA with cerebral palsy were treated with Chinese scalp acupuncture at the Neuroacupuncture Institute in Santa Fe,New Mexico,USA.Foot motor and sensory area, motor area, speech I area, speech II area, balance area, vision area, apraxia area, and I vision area were selected base on patient's clinical manifestation.Rotating manual stimulation was performed during each session of acupuncture. The retention of needles was 30 minutes. Results These 36 patients received between 3–20 treatments,5 had complete resolution of their symptom,14 cases a marked effect,14 had some effect, and 3 patients experienced no improvement. No adverse events were reported. Conclusion Chinese scalp acupuncture in these 33 cases appears to be an effective treatment for patients with CP and should be considered as an adjunctive therapy for more CP patients.Chinese scalp acupuncture relieved many of these patients' symptoms, increased their quality of life, and reversed many physical disabilities. Some of the patients returned to a normal life. Those treatments have laid a foundation for research into the clinical application of Chinese scalp acupuncture in the treatment of CP.
文摘Objective To observe the clinical therapeutic effects (BPH) treated with scalp-acupuncture and body-acupuncture. Methods on benign prostate hyperplasia Two hundred and forty patients diagnosed clinically with BPH were randomly divided into 3 groups. 文摘The specific mechanisms by which acupuncture affects the central nervous system are unclear. 文摘Data mining has the potential to provide information for improving clinical acupuncture strategies by uncovering hidden rules between acupuncture manipulation and therapeutic effects in a data set. Improved muscle tension in the upper and lower limbs, reflected by the variation in the Hmax/Mmax ratio, is crucial for recovery of motor function from hemiplegia.

文摘OBJECTIVE: To determine the clinical efficacy and safety of electro-scalp acupuncture in the treatment of patients with acute ischemic stroke. CONCLUSION: Electro-scalp acupuncture was efficacious in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke, which resulted in meaningful improvements in neurologic function, motor function and activities of daily living of patients.

文摘Background: Blocking the Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2(Ras homolog gene family member A/Rho kinase Ⅱ/myosin light chain 2) signaling pathway can initiate neuroprotective mechanisms against neurological diseases such as stroke, cerebral ischemia, and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Conclusion: This study found that these experimental data indicated that SA at “Baihui”-penetrating “Qubin” could preserve BBB integrity and neurological function recovery after ICH by inhibiting Rho A/ROCK Ⅱ/MLC 2 signaling pathway activation and by regulating endothelial cell–related proteins.
