Objective:This study is to investigate the medicinal value of methanolic extiact of the leaves of Musa sapientum var.sylvesteris in Bangladesh.Methods:Several biochemical assays,thin layer chormatogarphy and ultra-violet spectroscopy were used to detect the presence of various types of compounds in this extract.Antioxidant effects were measured by DPPH scavenging assay,total reducing assay and hydrogen peroxide scavenging assay.Receptor binding activities and hydrogen peroxide induced hemolysis assay were performed by hemagglutination assay and hemolysis assay using erythrocytes.Disk diffusion assay was performed to show the antibacterial effect of the extract.Results:Alethanolic extract of the leaves showed antioxidant and antibacterial activity in ritro.The extract showed hemaglutination inhibition activities and hydrogen peroxide induced hemolysis inhibition activity of human red blood cells.Conclusion:Musa sapientum var.sylvesteris can be an useful medicinal plant. 展开更多

Methods: Diabetes was induced in rats by administering a... Objective: To investigate the effect of Musa sapientum L. (MS) bark juice in diabetic gastroparesis and its effect on pharrnacokinetic of metformin (MET). Methods: Diabetes was induced in rats by administering alloxan (120 mg/kg) saline solution and maintained for 8 week. All the 18 Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into three groups (n=6 in each group): normal control, diabetic control and MS bark juice. Assessment of diabetes was done by glucose oxidase-peroxidase method on the 3rd day of alloxan administration. The effects of MS bark juice (100 mL/kg) on gastric emptying time, intestinal transit time, contractility of fundus and pylorus as well as gastdc acid secretion in chronic diabetic rats were observed after 8 weeks of aUoxan administration. The effect of MS bark juice on the pharmacokinetic of orally administered single dose of MET (350 mg/kg) was evaluated on the 57th day of protocol. Any drugs that may reduce the blood glucose level or influence the fibrinolytic system were not used in this study. Results: The MS bark juice significantly reduced the blood glucose level in the diabetic rats (P〈0.01). There was significant decrease in the pylorus motility and increase in the gastric emptying time, intestinal transit time, contractility of fundus, gastric acid secretion in the MS bark juice treated group (P〈0.01). There was significant decrease in the time at which drug at a maximum concentration, haft life of drug and increase in the maximum concentration of drug in the plasma of MET in MS bark juice treated group as compared to diabetic control group (P〈0.01). Conclusion: MS bark juice effectively manages diabetic gastroparesis and thereby improves the bioavailabilty of MET when administered with MS bark iuice. 展开更多

Objective: to evalu... The percentage of diabetic patients with contaminated lesions increases from 3% to 10%. Treatment with herbal products shows benefits in their use, as well as antioxidant and antifungal activities. Objective: to evaluate the antimicrobial action of 10% banana peel gel and the contraction of diabetic and venous wounds. Methods: individual, analytical, interventional, longitudinal, prospective, randomized study from February to December 2015. Five patients were included in the study;3 with venous ulcer and 2 with diabetic wound. Application of 10% green banana peel gel and weekly samples were performed. After six days, the second collection was performed. The samples were seeded in the Mannitol salt agar culture medium, MacConkey agar and Saboraund agar with chloramphenicol for isolation of cocci and Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacilli;and fungi. The total counts of bacteria were determined by PCA (Plate Count Agar) and measurement of the lesion margin. There was a reduction of microorganisms with the use of the gel in 53.57% of the patients, and reduction of wound areas in 48.1%. 展开更多

大蕉果实转录组学分析及类胡萝卜素合成相关基因的研究 被引量:1

为探究大蕉果实不同发育时期在转录水平上的变化及类胡萝卜素生物合成代谢的差异表达基因,本研究以幼果期(BGZ1)、成熟期(BGZ2)、后熟期(BGZ3)的大蕉果实为研究对象,借助转录组测序技术进行分析。差异表达基因分析结果显示,BGZ1 vs BGZ2... 为探究大蕉果实不同发育时期在转录水平上的变化及类胡萝卜素生物合成代谢的差异表达基因,本研究以幼果期(BGZ1)、成熟期(BGZ2)、后熟期(BGZ3)的大蕉果实为研究对象,借助转录组测序技术进行分析。差异表达基因分析结果显示,BGZ1 vs BGZ2、BGZ1 vs BGZ3和BGZ2 vs BGZ3差异表达基因数目分别为3828个、16138个和14923个。GO分类和富集分析显示,3个差异分组主要富集在代谢过程、发育过程、结合、催化活性、细胞解剖实体等。KEGG分析结果表明,3个差异分组中,与类胡萝卜素的合成代谢相关的代谢途径、次生代谢产物的生物合成途径富集比较多。BGZ1 vs BGZ2、BGZ2 vs BGZ3分别有556个、1507个显著差异表达的转录因子,BGZ1 vs BGZ2显著差异表达的转录因子中下调表达居多。参与大蕉果实类胡萝卜素合成代谢的差异候选基因有37个,与BGZ1相比,BGZ2有12个基因上调表达、27个基因下调表达;与BGZ2相比,BGZ3有17个基因上调表达、20个基因下调表达。3个PSY候选基因的表达量在BGZ3时期降低;LCYE和LCYB在后熟期具有较高基因表达量。研究结果为大蕉中类胡萝卜素代谢的分子调控机制提供参考。 展开更多
