Research on the spatial patterns of tree populations is critical for understanding the structure and dynamic processes of forests.However,little is known about how the underlying drivers shape these patterns and species interactions in forest systems.In this study,spatial point pattern analysis investigated the combined eff ects of intraspecifi c interactions and environmental heterogeneity on the spatial structure and internal maintenance mechanisms of Picea crassifolia in the Qilian Mountain National Nature Reserve,China.Data were obtained from a 10.2-ha dynamic monitoring plot(DMP)and sixteen 0.04-ha elevation gradient plots(EGPs).Under complete spatial randomness,both mature trees and saplings in the DMP demonstratedlarge-scale aggregation with negative correlations.In EGPs,saplings were clustered in small mesoscales,mature trees were randomly distributed,and the interactions of saplingstrees at all elevations were not correlated.By eliminating the interference of environmental heterogeneity through the inhomogeneous Poisson process,saplings in the DMP and EGPs were clustered in small scales and trees randomly distributed.Intraspecifi c associations were negatively correlated,in the DMP and at low elevations,and no correlations in high elevations of EGPs.In the vertical scale,saplings showed a small-scale aggregation pattern with increase in elevation,and the aggregation degree fi rst decreased and then increased.The interactions of saplings-trees and saplings–saplings showed inhibitions at small scales,with the degree of inhibition gradually decreasing.Spatial patterns and associations of adults–adults did not change signifi-cantly.The results revealed that intraspecifi c interactions and environmental heterogeneity regulated the spatial patterns of P.crassifolia at small and large scales,respectively.Environmental heterogeneity might be the most decisive factor aff ecting the spatial patterns of saplings,while trees were more aff ected by intraspecifi c interactions.Moreover,competition between trees in this area could be more common than facilitation for the growth and development of individuals. 展开更多

The effects of aerosol-radiation interactions(ARI)are not only important for regional and global climate,but they can also drive particulate matter(PM)pollution.In this study,the ARI contribution to the near-surface fine PM(PM_(2.5))concentrations in the Guanzhong Basin(GZB)is evaluated under four unfavorable synoptic patterns,including“northlow”,“transition”,“southeast-trough”,and“inland-high”,based on WRF-Chem model simulations of a persistent heavy PM pollution episode in January 2019.Simulations show that ARI consistently decreases both solar radiation reaching down to the surface(SWDOWN)and surface temperature(TSFC),which then reduces wind speed,induces sinking motion,and influences cloud formation in the GZB.However,large differences under the four synoptic patterns still exist.The average reductions of SWDOWN and daytime TSFC in the GZB range from 15.2%and 1.04°C in the case of the“transition”pattern to 26.7%and 1.69°C in the case of the“north-low”pattern,respectively.Furthermore,ARI suppresses the development of the planetary boundary layer(PBL),with the decrease of PBL height(PBLH)varying from 18.7%in the case of the“transition”pattern to 32.0%in the case of the“north-low”pattern.The increase of daytime near-surface PM_(2.5)in the GZB due to ARI is 12.0%,8.1%,9.5%,and 9.7%under the four synoptic patterns,respectively.Ensemble analyses also reveal that when near-surface PM_(2.5)concentrations are low,ARI tends to lower PM_(2.5)concentrations with decreased PBLH,which is caused by enhanced divergence or a transition from divergence to convergence in an area.ARI contributes 15%-25%toward the near-surface PM_(2.5)concentrations during the severe PM pollution period under the four synoptic patterns. 展开更多

In network environments,before meaningful interactions can begin,trust may need to be established between two interactive entities in which an entity may ask the other to provide some information involving privacy.Consequently,privacy protection and trust establishment become important in network interactions.In order to protect privacy while facilitating effective interactions,we propose a trust-based privacy protection method.Our main contributions in this paper are as follows:(1)We introduce a novel concept of k-sensitive privacy as a measure to assess the potential threat of inferring privacy;(2)According to trust and k-sensitive privacy evaluation,our proposed method can choose appropriate interaction patterns with lower degree of inferring privacy threat;(3)By considering interaction patterns for privacy protection,our proposed method can overcome the shortcomings of some current privacy protection methods which may result in low interaction success rate.Simulation results show that our method can achieve effective interactions with less privacy loss. 展开更多

Pitman-Yor process mixture model for community structure exploration considering latent interaction patterns

The statistical model for community detection is a promising research area in network analysis.Most existing statistical models of community detection are designed for networks with a known type of community structure,but in many practical situations,the types of community structures are unknown.To cope with unknown community structures,diverse types should be considered in one model.We propose a model that incorporates the latent interaction pattern,which is regarded as the basis of constructions of diverse community structures by us.The interaction pattern can parameterize various types of community structures in one model.A collapsed Gibbs sampling inference is proposed to estimate the community assignments and other hyper-parameters.With the Pitman-Yor process as a prior,our model can automatically detect the numbers and sizes of communities without a known type of community structure beforehand.Via Bayesian inference,our model can detect some hidden interaction patterns that offer extra information for network analysis.Experiments on networks with diverse community structures demonstrate that our model outperforms four state-of-the-art models. 展开更多

Characteristics of Sand Dune Pattern and Fluvial-aeolian Interaction in Horqin Sandy Land, Northeast Plain of China

The interaction between fluvial and aeolian processes can significantly change surface morphology of the Earth. Taking the Horqin Sandy Land as the research area and using Landsat series satellite remote sensing images, this study utilizes geomorphology and landscape ecology to monitor and analyze the aeolian geomorphology characteristics of the Horqin Sandy Land. Results show that the sand dunes of the Horqin Sandy Land are mainly distributed on alluvial plains along the banks of the mainstream and tributaries of the Western Liao River, and the sand dune types tend to simplify from west to east and from south to north. The aeolian geomorphology coverage tend to be decreasing in the past 40 years, with an average annual change rate of 0.31%. While the area of traveling dunes decreased, the area of fixed and semi-fixed dunes increased. The fractal dimensions of various types of sand dune have all remained relatively constant between 1.07 and 1.10, suggesting that they are experiencing a relatively stable evolutionary process. There is a complex interaction between fluvial and aeolian processes of the Horqin Sandy Land, which plays a central role in surface landscape molding. Sand dunes on both sides of different rivers on the Horqin Sandy Land present certain regularity and different characteristics in terms of morphology, developmental scale, and spatial pattern. There are six fluvial-aeolian interaction modes in this area: supply of sand sources by rivers for sand dune development, complete obstruction of dune migration by rivers, partial obstruction of dune migration by rivers, influence of river valleys on dune developmental types on both sides, influence of river valleys on dune developmental scale on both sides, and river diversion due to obstruction and forcing by sand dunes. This study deepens our understanding of the surface process mechanism of the interaction between fluvial and aeolian processes in semi-arid regions, and provides a basis for researches on regional landscape responses in the context of global environmental change. 展开更多

Diagnostic studies have been done of the seasonal and interdecadal variations of the coupling patterns for the air-sea interactions in the northern Pacific region, by using 500-hPa geopotential height field of the Northern Hemisphere and monthly mean SST field of northern Pacific Ocean (1951 ~ 1995) and with the aid of the Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) technique. The results show that: (1) The distribution patterns of SVD, which link with the El Ni駉 (or La Ni馻) events, are important in the interaction between the atmosphere and ocean while the atmosphere, coupling with it, varies like the PNA teleconnection does. The coupling of air-sea interactions is the highest in the winter (January), specifically linking the El Ni駉 event with the PNA pattern in the geopotential height field. Of the four seasons, summer has the poorest coupling when the 500-hPa geopotential height field corresponding to the La Ni馻 event displays patterns similar to the East Asian-Pacific one (PJ). The spring and autumn are both transitional and the coupling is less tight in the autumn than in the spring. (2) Significant changes have taken place around 1976 in the pattern of air-sea coupling, with the year抯 winter having intensified PNA pattern of 500-hPa winter geopotential height field, deepened Aleutian low that moves southeast and the summer following it having outstanding PJ pattern of 500-hPa geopotential height field, which is not so before 1976. 展开更多

Understanding the pore water pressure distribution in unsaturated soil is crucial in predicting shallow landslides triggered by rainfall,mainly when dealing with different temporal patterns of rainfall intensity.However,the hydrological response of vegetated slopes,especially three-dimensional(3D)slopes covered with shrubs,under different rainfall patterns remains unclear and requires further investigation.To address this issue,this study adopts a novel 3D numerical model for simulating hydraulic interactions between the root system of the shrub and the surrounding soil.Three series of numerical parametric studies are conducted to investigate the influences of slope inclination,rainfall pattern and rainfall duration.Four rainfall patterns(advanced,bimodal,delayed,and uniform)and two rainfall durations(4-h intense and 168-h mild rainfall)are considered to study the hydrological response of the slope.The computed results show that 17%higher transpiration-induced suction is found for a steeper slope,which remains even after a short,intense rainfall with a 100-year return period.The extreme rainfalls with advanced(PA),bimodal(PB)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns need to be considered for the short rainfall duration(4 h),while the delayed(PD)and uniform(PU)rainfall patterns are highly recommended for long rainfall durations(168 h).The presence of plants can improve slope stability markedly under extreme rainfall with a short duration(4 h).For the long duration(168 h),the benefit of the plant in preserving pore-water pressure(PWP)and slope stability may not be sufficient. 展开更多

E3 ubiquitin ligases are participated in numerous processes, regulating the response to biotic and abiotic stresses. Botrytis susceptible1 interactor (BOI) is a RING (Really Interesting New Gene)-type E3 ligase that mediates the ubiquitination of BOS1 (Botrytis susceptible1), a transcription factor involved in stress and pathogen responses. Although BOI is an E3 ligase, there are reports to show that BOI interacts with target proteins such as DELLAs or CONSTANS to repress gibberellin responses and flowering without the degradation of the target proteins. In this article, we utilize diversified methods to comprehensively analyze the expression pattern, interaction network and function of BOI gene. Firstly, 1800 bp upstream region of BOI gene from Arabidopsis thaliana (Arabidopsis) genome was isolated, and fused GUS reporter gene. The resulting expression cassette was introduced into wild-type Arabidopsis through Agrobacterium-mediated transformation. The result demonstrated that BOI gene was expressed predominantly in leaves, siliques, young roots, and flowering tissues, indicating that BOI gene may be involved in multiple processes in plant growth and development in Arabidopsis. Besides, eight candidate interacting proteins were obtained from the Arabidopsis cDNA library via yeast two-hybrid technology, including EXO70E2 (AT5G61010), WRKY7 (AT4G24240), WRKY11 (AT4G31550), WRKY17 (AT2G24570), UBP20 (AT4G17895), L5 (AT1G12290), SAUR9 (AT4G36110) and TCP21 (AT5G08330). Functional analysis of these candidate interacting proteins manifested that they related to multiple pathways, including biological and abiotic stress, programmed cell death, protein degradation, material metabolism and transcriptional regulation. In addition, the results of the transient assay proclaimed that BOI protein affects the protein stability of EXO70E2 and L5 through its E3 ubiquitin ligase activity. Our results provide novel clues for a better understanding of molecular mechanisms underlying BOI-mediated regulations. 展开更多

In this paper, we integrate the Bauhaus’ idea to construct the new idea of constructing the interaction design and visual reconstruction. To note here that includes both the facts to the reality of the fact that also includes the artistic truth, or “virtual reality experience such as writer”, sequence of works of art, etc., and the former is an artist biography, the object of art history. In this paper,we first review the research advancements in blocking dynamics and highlight the merits and drawbacks of the previous theories of atmospheric blocking.Then,the dynamical mechanisms of atmospheric blocking are presented based on a nonlinear multi-scale interaction(NMI)model.Previous studies suggested that the eddy deformation(e.g.,eddy straining,wave breaking,and eddy merging)might lead to the formation and maintenance of atmospheric blocking.However,the results were speculative and problematic because the previous studies,based on the time-mean eddy-mean flow interaction model,cannot identify the causal relationship between the evolution of atmospheric blocking and the eddy deformation.Based on the NMI model,we indicate that the onset,growth,maintenance,and decay of atmospheric blocking is mainly produced by the spatiotemporal evolution of pre-existing upstream synoptic-scale eddies,whereas the eddy deformation is a concomitant phenomenon of the blocking formation.The lifetime of blocking is mainly determined by the meridional background potential vorticity gradient(PVy)because a small PVyfavors weak energy dispersion and strong nonlinearity to sustain the blocking.But the zonal movement of atmospheric blocking is associated with the background westerly wind,PVy,and the blocking amplitude.Using this NMI model,a bridge from the climate change to sub-seasonal atmospheric blocking and weather extremes might be established via examining the effect of climate change on PVy.Thus,it is expected that using the NMI model to explore the dynamics of atmospheric blocking and its change is a new direction in the future. 展开更多

A hybrid method for extraction of protein-protein interactions from literature

In this work, a hybrid method is proposed to eliminate the limitations of traditional protein-protein interactions (PPIs) extraction methods, such as pattern learning and machine learning. Each sentence from the biomedical literature containing a protein pair describes a PPI which is predicted by first learning syntax patterns typical of PPIs from training corpus and then using their presence as features, along with bag-of-word features in a maximum entropy model. Tested on the BioCreAtIve corpus, the PPIs extraction method, which achieved a precision rate of 64%, recall rate of 60%, improved the performance in terms of F1 value by 11% compared with the component pure pattern- based and bag-of-word methods. The results on this test set were also compared with other three extraction methods and found to improve the performance remarkably. 展开更多

There are complex landscape pattern and hydrological process(LPHP)interactions,which exhibit different coupling mechanisms across multiple temporal and spatial scales.However,in-depth understanding of the LPHP interactions is currently lacking.This research conducted a systematic review of 198 empirical studies to explore the LPHP interactions.The findings reveal that:1)global LPHP research was concentrated in temperate regions,with tropical and cold regions underrepresented;2)LPHP interactions showed temporal and spatial scales differentiation,with the majority of studies occurring at long-term local and regional scales,and the relationship between agricultural land expansion and surface runoff was a key point.This research proposed a dual-path driving model that captures both landscape pattern-driven hydrological processes and hydrological process-reshaping landscape patterns.In natural areas,high cohesion and aggregation patterns should be protected and enhanced.In urban areas,landscape fragmentation should be controlled and green infrastructure should be promoted to strengthen hydrological resilience.Additionally,soil erosion and floods not only alter the landscape composition but may also trigger dynamic changes in landscape configuration,forming feedback loops,which are particularly pronounced at the local scale.ldentifying these key pathways enhances the understanding of the coupled human-nature system,facilitating more robust predictions and responses to future changes and challenges. 展开更多

互联网使用是否会造成婚姻推迟?——基于理想结婚年龄视角的实证研究

近年来,随着移动互联网技术的快速发展和普及,互联网使用已成为年轻人生活中重要的组成部分,显著改变了年轻人在消费、社交与休闲等方面的行为模式。互联网使用在加速改变人们生活方式的同时,也对青年群体的婚恋观念和婚姻决策产生了重... 近年来,随着移动互联网技术的快速发展和普及,互联网使用已成为年轻人生活中重要的组成部分,显著改变了年轻人在消费、社交与休闲等方面的行为模式。互联网使用在加速改变人们生活方式的同时,也对青年群体的婚恋观念和婚姻决策产生了重要的影响。当前我国人口发展正面临低生育率的风险挑战,而提升生育水平的前提之一在于缓解青年的婚姻焦虑,扭转其晚婚、不婚倾向。在此背景下,探讨互联网使用对青年理想结婚年龄的影响具有重要的理论价值与现实意义。本文基于2018年中国家庭追踪调查数据,实证检验互联网使用对青年群体理想结婚年龄的影响,并对其影响机制和群体差异性进行研究。实证结果表明互联网的使用显著推迟了青年的理想结婚年龄。该结果在一系列稳健性检验后仍然成立,表明研究结论具有较强的可靠性。同时为深入探究互联网使用影响理想结婚年龄的内在机制,本文从观念重构、消费替代与社交转移三个维度构建中介路径进行分析。研究发现:第一,互联网使用会通过冲击传统婚姻观念,弱化“男大当婚、女大当嫁”等传统思想对个体的约束,增强自我意识,降低婚姻需求;第二,互联网改变了年轻人的消费模式。网络消费在一定程度上替代了婚姻提供的物质与情感功能,削弱了通过婚姻获取陪伴与支持的需求,同时也加剧了年轻人的经济压力,抑制了个体的婚姻意愿;第三,互联网的使用还通过改变社交模式,促使个体沉迷于虚拟网络而忽略了线下真实社交,进而选择较晚地进入婚姻。异质性分析表明互联网使用对理想结婚年龄的影响也存在显著的群体差异性,男性、低收入水平和低受教育水平的群体受到的影响更为显著,上网时间的增加会显著影响他们的结婚意愿,提高他们的理想结婚年龄。相对来说,该群体因现实社交资源有限、婚姻经济压力大,更容易依赖网络世界获取情感满足和社会认同,因此理想结婚年龄的推迟效应更为突出。本研究从网络普及的社会背景出发,为理解当代青年结婚意愿持续走低、结婚年龄不断推迟的现象提供了新的解释,也为后续制定针对性的婚育支持政策、开展网络信息治理与青年婚恋教育提供了实证依据与经验支持。 展开更多
