Integrating Bayesian Optimization with Volume of Fluid (VOF) simulations, this work aims to optimize the operational conditions and geometric parameters of T-junction microchannels for target droplet sizes. Bayesian Optimization utilizes Gaussian Process (GP) as its core model and employs an adaptive search strategy to efficiently explore and identify optimal combinations of operational parameters within a limited parameter space, thereby enabling rapid optimization of the required parameters to achieve the target droplet size. Traditional methods typically rely on manually selecting a series of operational parameters and conducting multiple simulations to gradually approach the target droplet size. This process is time-consuming and prone to getting trapped in local optima. In contrast, Bayesian Optimization adaptively adjusts its search strategy, significantly reducing computational costs and effectively exploring global optima, thus greatly improving optimization efficiency. Additionally, the study investigates the impact of rectangular rib structures within the T-junction microchannel on droplet generation, revealing how the channel geometry influences droplet formation and size. After determining the target droplet size, we further applied Bayesian Optimization to refine the rib geometry. The integration of Bayesian Optimization with computational fluid dynamics (CFD) offers a promising tool and provides new insights into the optimal design of microfluidic devices. 展开更多

In this paper, the bandgap characteristics of a missing rib lattice structure composed of beam elements are investigated by using the Floquet-Bloch theorem. The tuning of the width and position of the bandgap is achieved by changing the local structural parameters,i.e.,the rotation angle, the short beam length, and the beam thickness. In order to expand the regulation of the bandgap, the influence of the material parameters of the crossed long beams inside the structure on the bandgap is analyzed. The results show that the mass density and stiffness of the structure have significant effects on the bandgap, while Poisson’s ratio has no effect on the bandgap.By analyzing the first ten bands of the reference unit cell,it can be found that the missing rib lattice structure generates multiple local resonance bandgaps for vibration reduction, and these bandgap widths are wider. The modal analysis reveals that the formation of the bandgap is due to the dipole resonance of the lattice structure, and this dipole resonance originates from the coupling of the bending deformation of the beam elements. In the band structure, the vibrational mode of the 9th band with a negative slope corresponds to a rotational resonance, which is different from that with the conventional negative slope formed by the coupling of two resonance modes. This study can provide a theoretical reference for the design of simple and lightweight elastic metamaterials,as well as for the regulation of bandgaps and the suppression of elastic waves. 展开更多

In order to overcome the shortcoming of space-borne rigid antenna reflector made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic(CFRP)skins with aluminum honeycomb sandwich(SAHS)structure,a new type of full CFRP skin plus rib(SPR)structure ring-focused parabolic surface antenna reflector with the size of 2.5 m×1.9 m is designed.Under the condition that the original caliber, surface type, and interface remain unchanged, the main influence factors are designed and controlled.First, from the perspective of high stiffness, lightweight, and easy to form,a finite element simulation software is used to analyze and optimize the layout of the rib,the cross-sectional shape of the rib,the size of the rib,and the matching of the size and the coefficients of thermal expansion(CTEs)of the rib and the skin.Second, two structures are prepared by the autoclave molding process.Third, the weight and the surface precision root mean square(RMS)value are measured. The results show that the fundamental frequency of the SPR structure is 142.2 Hz,which is 3.5 Hz higher;the number of the new structural parts is reduced by 40%,and the forming process is greatly simplified. The total weight of the new structure is 11.9 kg,lighter 42.5%,indicating that the weight loss is obvious. The RMS value is 0.15 mm,which is slightly lower 0.01 mm but satisfies the accuracy requirement not greater than 0.3 mm.It is proved that the SPR structure reflector is a superior structure of the lightweight spaceborne antenna reflector. 展开更多
