This autobiographical narrative inquiry investigates the contribution of scaffolded research practice to a female EFL preservice teacher ’s research efficacy.The data were collected through conversations, notes, journals, and portfolios. The findings suggest that teacher research efficacy was pliable through scaffolded research practice. It emerged gradually over time, in different places with social and personal interaction. The factors contributing to the emerging research efficacy were: teacher educators ’ support, peers ’ support,and research participation. The study sheds light on teacher educators and EFL preservice teachers,with the intention of establishing an inquiry-based pedagogy for M.Ed. programs.展开更多
This study investigates and explores the teaching of higher vocational English courses for non-English majors from the perspective of core competencies.First,it outlines the current research status of core competencie...This study investigates and explores the teaching of higher vocational English courses for non-English majors from the perspective of core competencies.First,it outlines the current research status of core competencies and analyzes the national-level requirements for English core competencies.Subsequently,based on professional training objectives and curriculum standards,a questionnaire on the core competencies of English courses has been designed to understand students’perceptions and experiences regarding the development of their competencies in areas such as workplace communication,cross-cultural exchange,language thinking enhancement,and autonomous learning improvement.The survey results showed that the majority of students had a positive attitude towards the effectiveness of English courses in cultivating the aforementioned core competencies.However,some students also suggest improvements,such as increasing practical opportunities and strengthening cultural exchange.Based on this,the study further explores how to integrate the cultivation of core competencies into classroom teaching,including the use of a combination of formative and summative assessments,the design of teaching content and activities related to the workplace and cross-cultural communication,and the guidance of students to actively explore and apply their knowledge,thereby enhancing their English language application abilities.This study has certain reference value for the optimization of the higher vocational English curriculum system and the reform of teaching methods.展开更多

Li-ion batteries and sodium-ion batteries have the same storage mechanism. Compared with lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries have the advantages of low cost and abundant sodium sources. However, because the radius of sodium ions (0.102nm) is much larger than the radius of lithium ions (0.076nm), finding a host material that can stably insert/remove sodium ions in the actual application process has become the key to the application of sodium-ion batteries in new energy vehicles. Although metal oxides (cobalt oxide, iron oxide, nickel oxide, etc.) with high theoretical capacity have good application potential in sodium ion cathode materials, sodium ion batteries have poor cycle life due to large volume expansion and low electrical conductivity during the sodium conversion process;While nanostructured metal oxides and their composites (MnO2 nanocrystals, NiO/Ni/ graphene, etc.) can effectively improve the cycle stability, but their durability under high current density is poor. This study evaluates the practices of...Most research-based fertilizer inputs proposed for small scale farmers to increase their productivity do not achieve the required results and should consider indigenous practices. This study evaluates the practices of nutrient fertilizer input by farmers and researchers and relates them to their corresponding yields and profit so as to establish the appropriateness of the practices in 13 districts of the Northern regions of Ghana. Soil nutrients assessment of Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P) and Potassium (K) contents used to evaluate the soil NPK status was based on previous studies. Data on fertilizer application by farmers and researchers were obtained from the Savanna Agricultural Research Institute (SARI). The amount of N, P and K fertilizer input in 13 Districts and its associated maize grain yields by both farmers (89) and researchers were calculated and compared using two-sample t-test. The t-test results indicated that average amount of fertilizer input by researchers was significantly (p < 0.05) higher than the average amount of fertilizer input by the smallholder farmers, but the high fertilizer input did not significantly (p = 0.74) increase researchers’ maize yields and profits in all 13 study districts grouped together, but there was maize increment in only eight districts. On the average, farmers from five districts applied low fertilizer and recorded low yields. However, when researchers increased quantities of fertilizer applied in these five districts, yield significantly (p < 0.05) increased. The outcome showed that smallholder farmers in these five districts could increase maize yields by 36% in the region should they adopt the maize production strategy by the researchers. The study concluded that, for best options, recommended fertilizer doses to enhance maize yields should consider district-specific farmers’ practices and soil NPK status. The study could enable better implementation of location-based nutrient recommendation in the Northern Region of Ghana.展开更多

文摘Global ecological agriculture is undergoing a significant transition from loosely defined and varied practices toward a coherent,sustainable develop-ment model with clearly established quality standards.This shift is notably influ-enced by international frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals,the European Green Deal,and China’s Green and Low Car-bon Development Strategy.To better align agricultural research with practical application during this transitional phase,this paper highlights three core areas requiring detailed consideration and dialogue:the functionalization of ecological agricultural products,the intelligent management of agricultural processes,and bridging persistent gaps between agricultural research and market demands,as illustrated in Figure 1.
