With the development of education and technology,the construction of research public platforms has emerged as a critical initiative for many universities and top-tier public hospitals.The core and most fundamental function of a basic public platform is to aggregate large instruments and specific resources,providing open services for instrumental analysis and sample testing.Optimized management and high-quality,efficient services are essential for such platforms.This article elucidates the construction of a research public platform in West China Hospital,focusing on the adoption of hierarchical management and precise services.The core of the hierarchical management lies in building a multi-level service platform composed of routine support platforms,advanced technology platforms,and specially qualification platforms,while establishing a talent hierarchy that differentiates between core and routine positions.This structure is designed to accurately meet the diverse needs of users and enhance resource efficiency.By implementing user access control with differentiated permissions for internal and external users and a dynamic credit-based review system,the laboratory can ensure safe and efficient operations.The four service modes—instrument usage,in-lab experiments,sample testing,and collaborative projects—are precisely aligned with various research scenarios.Proactive engagement with grant-funded projects,customized services for research groups,and a multidimensional training system further strengthen the platform's support for major scientific research tasks.Through systematic management and service innovation,this model achieves efficient integration and sustainable development of platform resources,providing a valuable reference for the construction of public platforms in similar medical institutions. 展开更多

Fibrosis is a pathological outcome of a dysregulated repair response to injury,which can occur in any organ and have devastating effects on hundreds of millions of patients worldwide.However,challenges remain in delineating the complex and dynamic network regulating fibrosis,as well as translating this information into effective anti-fibrotic treatments.A comprehensive understanding of existing methodologies and the development of new research tools are essential for ensuring the transferability of findings from bench to bedside.In this review,we present a framework consisting of a large biospecimen repository that integrates diverse patient cohorts with corresponding clinical data,and a systematic research platform incorporating multiple layers of experimental strategies,primarily focused on skin fibrosis.We summarize current advancements and the applications of various tools for preclinical fibrosis research and examine the limitations of traditional methods used to simulate and investigate biomechanical signals in the fibrotic environment.Importantly,we highlight the strengths of research techniques and translational approaches of varying physiological relevance developed by us over the past decade.Collectively,we emphasize a trend toward more faithfully replicating the functional,structural,and biological complexity of fibrosis while providing high spatio-temporal control over soluble cues and intricate interactions.Our comprehensive overview of methodology paves the way for minimizing batch-to-batch variation and improving the reproducibility of experimental systems. 展开更多

The platform scheduling problem in battlefield is one of the important problems in military operational research.It needs to minimize mission completing time and meanwhile maximize the mission completing accuracy with a limited number of platforms.Though the traditional certain models obtain some good results,uncertain model is still needed to be introduced since the battlefield environment is complex and unstable.An uncertain model is prposed for the platform scheduling problem.Related parameters in this model are set to be fuzzy or stochastic.Due to the inherent disadvantage of the solving methods for traditional models,a new method is proposed to solve the uncertain model.Finally,the practicability and availability of the proposed method are demonstrated with a case of joint campaign. 展开更多

Fifth generation(5G)wireless networks must meet the needs of emerging technologies like the Internet of Things(IoT),Vehicle-to-everything(V2X),Video on Demand(VoD)services,Device to Device communication(D2D)and many other bandwidth-hungry multimedia applications that connect a huge number of devices.5G wireless networks demand better bandwidth efficiency,high data rates,low latency,and reduced spectral leakage.To meet these requirements,a suitable 5G waveform must be designed.In this work,a waveform namely Shaped Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Keying based Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing(SOQPSK-OFDM)is proposed for 5G to provide bandwidth efficiency,reduced spectral leakage,and Bit Error Rate(BER).The proposed work is evaluated using a real-time Software Defined Radio(SDR)testbed-Wireless open Access Research Platform(WARP).Experimental and simulation results show that the proposed 5G waveform exhibits better BER performance and reduced Out of Band(OOB)radia-tion when compared with other waveforms like Offset Quadrature Phase Shift Key-ing(OQPSK)and Quadrature Phase Shift Keying(QPSK)based OFDM and a 5G waveform candidate Generalized Frequency Division Multiplexing(GFDM).BER analysis shows that the proposed SOQPSK-OFDM waveform attains a Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR)gain of 7.2 dB at a BER of 10�3,when compared with GFDM in a real-time indoor environment.An SNR gain of 8 and 6 dB is achieved by the proposed work for a BER of 10�4 when compared with QPSK-OFDM and OQPSK-OFDM signals,respectively.A significant reduction in OOB of nearly 15 dB is achieved by the proposed work SOQPSK-OFDM when compared to 16 Quadrature Amplitude Modulation(QAM)mapped OFDM. 展开更多

A new approach referred as“the network modeling method”was developed by the authors to analyze the behaviors of marine structures.In this paper the method is briefly described and applied to predict the loads acting on the connectors between the two modules of the Scientific Research and Demonstration Platform(SRDP),which was deployed in a complicated wave environment near islands and reefs in South China Sea.Based on this method,the response amplitude operators(RAOs)of the connector loads of the SRDP in regular waves,and the time variations of the connector loads of the SRDP in an on-site measured random sea state are predicted and presented.The significant stresses at 20 spots of the local connection structure induced by the connector loads in the sea state are further calculated.The comparisons between the predicted and the on-site measured stresses confirm that the network modeling method is feasible to some extent and especially useful for design of the connectors’arrangement,estimation of the connector loads and the related structural safety of a multi-module floating structure in early design stage. 展开更多

The Pan-Eurasian Experiment Modelling Platform(PEEX-MP)is one of the key blocks of the PEEX Research Programme.The PEEX MP has more than 30 models and is directed towards seamless envir-onmental prediction.The main focus area is the Arctic-boreal regions and China.The models used in PEEX-MP cover several main components of the Earth’s system,such as the atmosphere,hydrosphere,pedosphere and biosphere,and resolve the physicalchemicalbiological processes at different spatial and temporal scales and resolutions.This paper introduces and discusses PEEX MP multi-scale modelling concept for the Earth system,online integrated,forward/inverse,and socioeconomical modelling,and other approaches with a particular focus on applications in the PEEX geographical domain.The employed high-performance com-puting facilities,capabilities,and PEEX dataflow for modelling results are described.Several virtual research platforms(PEEXView,Virtual Research Environment,Web-based Atlas)for handling PEEX modelling and observational results are introduced.The over-all approach allows us to understand better physical-chemicalbiological processes,Earth’s system interactions and feedbacks and to provide valuable information for assessment studies on evaluating risks,impact,consequences,etc.for population,envir-onment and climate in the PEEX domain.This work was also one of the last projects of Prof.Sergej Zilitinkevich,who passed away on 15 February 2021.Since the finalization took time,the paper was actually submitted in 2023 and we could not argue that the final paper text was agreed with him. 展开更多

Aims In forests,the herbaceous understory vegetation plays an important role for ecosystem functioning as it represents a significant component of total aboveground productivity.In addition,the herb layer contributes to overall forest species richness and controls tree species regeneration.Vice versa,trees in the overstory control understory herb and shrub growth through competition for resources.Using an experimental forest plantation with manipulated tree richness,we asked to which degree tree species richness and identity affect herb layer composition,richness and productivity and how these relationships across strata change with abiotic environmental conditions and competition intensity.Methods In the context of the Biodiversity-Ecosystem Functioning project in subtropical China(BEF-China),we made use of the integrated BEFmod experiment arranged along a tree species richness gradient at two sites,with additional subplot treatments of phosphorus addition,herb layer weeding and no weeding.We recorded the understory vegetation and determined herb layer biomass production on a total of 201 subplots.Important Findings We found only minor effects of tree layer richness on herb layer species composition and no significant effect on herb layer richness or productivity yet.However,there were strong tree layer identity effects on all response variables,which were partly explained by differences in leaf area index and by a high share of woody species both in total herb layer species richness and biomass.There were strong treatment effects,which were largest in the‘no weeding’treatment but we did not find any treatment×tree layer richness interaction in herb layer responses.Thus,these effects are mainly explained by increased competition intensity within the herb layer in the absence of weeding.Despite the young age of the experiment,the interactions between tree species identity,tree richness and the herb layer did already emerge and can be expected to become stronger with ongoing runtime of the experiment. 展开更多
