Traditional hand-crafted features for representing local image patches are evolving into current data-driven and learning-based image feature, but learning a robust and discriminative descriptor which is capable of co...Traditional hand-crafted features for representing local image patches are evolving into current data-driven and learning-based image feature, but learning a robust and discriminative descriptor which is capable of controlling various patch-level computer vision tasks is still an open problem. In this work, we propose a novel deep convolutional neural network(CNN) to learn local feature descriptors. We utilize the quadruplets with positive and negative training samples, together with a constraint to restrict the intra-class variance, to learn good discriminative CNN representations. Compared with previous works, our model reduces the overlap in feature space between corresponding and non-corresponding patch pairs, and mitigates margin varying problem caused by commonly used triplet loss. We demonstrate that our method achieves better embedding result than some latest works, like PN-Net and TN-TG, on benchmark dataset.展开更多

Objective This study aimed to determine the temporal trends in sleep duration among Chinese adults.Methods In this series of repeated nationally representative cross-sectional surveys(China Chronic Disease and Risk Fa...Objective This study aimed to determine the temporal trends in sleep duration among Chinese adults.Methods In this series of repeated nationally representative cross-sectional surveys(China Chronic Disease and Risk Factors Surveillance)conducted between 2010 and 2018,a total of 645,420 adult participants(97,741 in 2010;175,749 in 2013;187,777 in 2015;and 184,153 in 2018)were included in the trend analysis.Linear and logistic regression models were utilized to assess trends in sleep duration.Results In 2018,the estimated overall mean sleep duration among the Chinese adult population was7.58(SD,1.45)hours per day,with no significant trend from 2010.A significant increase in short sleep duration(≤6 hours)was observed in the total population,from 15.3%(95%CI:14.1%–16.5%)in 2010 to18.5%(95%CI:17.7%–19.3%)in 2018(P<0.001).Similarly,the trend in long sleep duration(>9 hours)was also significant,increasing in weighted prevalence from 7.2%(95%CI:6.3%–8.1%)in 2010 to 9.0%(95%CI:8.2%–9.9%)in 2018(P<0.001).Conclusion The prevalence of both short and long sleep durations significantly increased among Chinese adults from 2010 to 2018,highlighting the urgency of health initiatives to promote optimal sleep duration in China.展开更多
Successful ex situ conservation of plant populations requires a high degree of genetic representativeness.However,spatially biased sampling in ex situ conservation efforts may fail to capture all wild genetic clusters...Successful ex situ conservation of plant populations requires a high degree of genetic representativeness.However,spatially biased sampling in ex situ conservation efforts may fail to capture all wild genetic clusters for species with range-wide genetic structure.To investigate the extent of spatially biased sampling in living collections and the coverage of wild genetic clusters in plant populations under ex situ conservation worldwide,we combined a global synthesis of ex situ conservation efforts with a case study of an endangered riparian plant species,Myricaria laxiflora.Our analysis of ex situ conservation worldwide revealed that the majority(82.6%)of ex situ populations fail to cover all wild genetic clusters,largely due to spatially biased sampling with low geographic coverage.Our case study of M.laxiflora showed that genetic diversity differed between the ex situ and upstream populations,while it was comparable between ex situ populations and other wild populations.However,current ex situ populations did not cover all wild genetic clusters,as the upstream genetic cluster was previously uncollected.Our study suggests that the failure to cover all wild genetic clusters in ex situ populations is a widespread issue,and ex situ populations with high genetic diversity can also fail to cover all wild genetic clusters.In future ex situ conservation programs,both the importance of high genetic diversity and the high coverage of wild genetic clusters should be prioritized.展开更多
Accurately assessing the relationship between tree growth and climatic factors is of great importance in dendrochronology.This study evaluated the consistency between alternative climate datasets(including station and...Accurately assessing the relationship between tree growth and climatic factors is of great importance in dendrochronology.This study evaluated the consistency between alternative climate datasets(including station and gridded data)and actual climate data(fixed-point observations near the sampling sites),in northeastern China’s warm temperate zone and analyzed differences in their correlations with tree-ring width index.The results were:(1)Gridded temperature data,as well as precipitation and relative humidity data from the Huailai meteorological station,was more consistent with the actual climate data;in contrast,gridded soil moisture content data showed significant discrepancies.(2)Horizontal distance had a greater impact on the representativeness of actual climate conditions than vertical elevation differences.(3)Differences in consistency between alternative and actual climate data also affected their correlations with tree-ring width indices.In some growing season months,correlation coefficients,both in magnitude and sign,differed significantly from those based on actual data.The selection of different alternative climate datasets can lead to biased results in assessing forest responses to climate change,which is detrimental to the management of forest ecosystems in harsh environments.Therefore,the scientific and rational selection of alternative climate data is essential for dendroecological and climatological research.展开更多

The contemporary medical definition, trauma as post-traumatic stre...This article focuses on the strategies that literature and cultural criticism adopt to represent trauma in comparison to a current medical definition. The contemporary medical definition, trauma as post-traumatic stress disorder （PTSD）, is the most narrow and specific definition to discuss trauma. The discourse of medicine does not necessarily match those of literature and cultural criticism, nor need they conform to each other. PTSD includes a collection of symptoms, any one of which might not have anything to do with traumatic experience, but which together point with increasing intensity to a psychological syndrome caused by traumatic shock. Although this is historically a recently defined syndrome （1980）, its features had long before attracted attention and been recorded under other terms and diagnoses. Although Chinese literature is only occasionally given to psychological realism, we do find occasional descriptions that strongly suggest aspects of the syndrome. Also, the aims and the needs of medicine and literature or cultural criticism are not necessarily the same, but it is important to explore in greater detail the aims and the needs of literature and cultural criticism.展开更多

High-pressure synthesis of lutetium hydrides from molecular hydrogen(H_(2))and lutetium(Lu)is systematically investigated using synchrotron X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,and visual observations.We demonstrate t...High-pressure synthesis of lutetium hydrides from molecular hydrogen(H_(2))and lutetium(Lu)is systematically investigated using synchrotron X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,and visual observations.We demonstrate that the reaction pathway between H_(2)and Lu invariably follows the sequence Lu→LuH_(2)→LuH_(3)and exhibits a notable time dependence.A comprehensive diagram representing the formation and synthesis of lutetium hydrides as a function of pressure and time is constructed.Our findings indicate that the synthesis can be accelerated by elevated temperature and decelerated by increased pressure.Notably,two critical pressure thresholds at ambient temperature are identified:the synthesis of LuH_(2)from Lu commences at a minimum pressure of~3 GPa,while~28 GPa is the minimum pressure at which LuH_(2)fails to transform into LuH_(3)within a time scale of months.This underscores the significant impact of temporal factors on synthesis,with the reaction completion time increasing sub-linearly with rising pressure.Furthermore,the cubic phase of LuH_(3)can be obtained exclusively through compressing the trigonal LuH_(3)phase at~11.5 GPa.We also demonstrate that the bandgap of LuH_(3)slowly closes under pressure and is noticeably lower than that of LuH_(2).展开更多
Coral reef limestone(CRL)constitutes a distinctive marine carbonate formation with complex mechanical properties.This study investigates the multiscale damage and fracture mechanisms of CRL through integrated experime...Coral reef limestone(CRL)constitutes a distinctive marine carbonate formation with complex mechanical properties.This study investigates the multiscale damage and fracture mechanisms of CRL through integrated experimental testing,digital core technology,and theoretical modelling.Two CRL types with contrasting mesostructures were characterized across three scales.Macroscopically,CRL-I and CRL-II exhibited mean compressive strengths of 8.46 and 5.17 MPa,respectively.Mesoscopically,CRL-I featured small-scale highly interconnected pores,whilst CRL-II developed larger stratified pores with diminished connectivity.Microscopically,both CRL matrices demonstrated remarkable similarity in mineral composition and mechanical properties.A novel voxel average-based digital core scaling methodology was developed to facilitate numerical simulation of cross-scale damage processes,revealing network-progressive failure in CRL-I versus directional-brittle failure in CRL-II.Furthermore,a damage statistical constitutive model based on digital core technology and mesoscopic homogenisation theory established quantitative relationships between microelement strength distribution and macroscopic mechanical behavior.These findings illuminate the fundamental mechanisms through which mesoscopic structure governs the macroscopic mechanical properties of CRL.展开更多

This study conducts a thorough examination of honeycomb sandwich panels with a lattice core,adopting advanced computational techniques for their modeling.The research extends its analysis to investigate the natural fr...This study conducts a thorough examination of honeycomb sandwich panels with a lattice core,adopting advanced computational techniques for their modeling.The research extends its analysis to investigate the natural frequency behavior of sandwich panels,encompassing the comprehensive assessment of the entire panel structure.At its core,the research applies the Representative Volume Element(RVE)theory to establish the equivalent material properties,thereby enhancing the predictive capabilities of lattice structure simulations.Themethodology applies these properties in the core of infinite panels,which are modeled using double periodic boundary conditions to explore their natural frequencies.Expanding beyond mere material characterization,the study introduces a novel approach to defining the material within the panel cores.By incorporating alternate materials such as steel and AlSiC,and by strategically modifying their ratios,the research streamlines the process of material variation without resorting to repetitive 3D operations on the constituent cells.This optimizes not only the computational resources but also offers insights into the structural response under diverse material compositions.Furthermore,the investigation extends its scope to analyze the influence of curvature on the structural behavior of lattice structures.Panels are modeled with varying degrees of curvature,ranging from single to double curvatures,including cylindrical and spherical configurations,across a spectrum of radii.A rigorous analysis is performed to study the effect of curvature on the mechanical performance and stability of lattice structures,offering valuable insights for design optimization and structural engineering applications.By building upon the existing knowledge and introducing innovative methodologies,this study contributes to improving the understanding of lattice structures and their applicability in diverse engineering contexts.展开更多

文摘Vitamin D deficiency(VDD)represents a significant nutritional concern among children and adolescents.The estimated prevalence of VDD in China is 46.8%in this population^([1]).VDD during childhood and adolescence has been associated with the onset of various conditions,including acute respiratory infections,asthma,atopic dermatitis,and food allergies^([2]).Multiple factors,including age,sun exposure,adiposity,and genetics,influence vitamin D levels^([2,3]).Increasing attention has been directed toward understanding the environmental determinants that may influence vitamin D status.Given the potential of metallic pollutants to disrupt endocrine function and their ubiquity in the environment,investigating the effects of metal exposure on human vitamin D status,particularly in vulnerable populations,is imperative.

文摘This article focuses on the strategies that literature and cultural criticism adopt to represent trauma in comparison to a current medical definition. The contemporary medical definition, trauma as post-traumatic stress disorder （PTSD）, is the most narrow and specific definition to discuss trauma. The discourse of medicine does not necessarily match those of literature and cultural criticism, nor need they conform to each other. PTSD includes a collection of symptoms, any one of which might not have anything to do with traumatic experience, but which together point with increasing intensity to a psychological syndrome caused by traumatic shock. Although this is historically a recently defined syndrome （1980）, its features had long before attracted attention and been recorded under other terms and diagnoses. Although Chinese literature is only occasionally given to psychological realism, we do find occasional descriptions that strongly suggest aspects of the syndrome. Also, the aims and the needs of medicine and literature or cultural criticism are not necessarily the same, but it is important to explore in greater detail the aims and the needs of literature and cultural criticism.

However, the sluggish cathode reactions necessitate the development of bifunctional oxygen electrocatalysts with lower ΔE indicator values. The ΔE indicator is commonly employed to quantitatively evaluate the electrocatalytic activity of a bifunctional oxygen electrocatalyst,representing the overall overpotential from oxygen reduction reaction(ORR) to oxygen evolution reaction(OER).

文摘High-pressure synthesis of lutetium hydrides from molecular hydrogen(H_(2))and lutetium(Lu)is systematically investigated using synchrotron X-ray diffraction,Raman spectroscopy,and visual observations.We demonstrate that the reaction pathway between H_(2)and Lu invariably follows the sequence Lu→LuH_(2)→LuH_(3)and exhibits a notable time dependence.A comprehensive diagram representing the formation and synthesis of lutetium hydrides as a function of pressure and time is constructed.Our findings indicate that the synthesis can be accelerated by elevated temperature and decelerated by increased pressure.Notably,two critical pressure thresholds at ambient temperature are identified:the synthesis of LuH_(2)from Lu commences at a minimum pressure of~3 GPa,while~28 GPa is the minimum pressure at which LuH_(2)fails to transform into LuH_(3)within a time scale of months.This underscores the significant impact of temporal factors on synthesis,with the reaction completion time increasing sub-linearly with rising pressure.Furthermore,the cubic phase of LuH_(3)can be obtained exclusively through compressing the trigonal LuH_(3)phase at~11.5 GPa.We also demonstrate that the bandgap of LuH_(3)slowly closes under pressure and is noticeably lower than that of LuH_(2).

文摘Coral reef limestone(CRL)constitutes a distinctive marine carbonate formation with complex mechanical properties.This study investigates the multiscale damage and fracture mechanisms of CRL through integrated experimental testing,digital core technology,and theoretical modelling.Two CRL types with contrasting mesostructures were characterized across three scales.Macroscopically,CRL-I and CRL-II exhibited mean compressive strengths of 8.46 and 5.17 MPa,respectively.Mesoscopically,CRL-I featured small-scale highly interconnected pores,whilst CRL-II developed larger stratified pores with diminished connectivity.Microscopically,both CRL matrices demonstrated remarkable similarity in mineral composition and mechanical properties.A novel voxel average-based digital core scaling methodology was developed to facilitate numerical simulation of cross-scale damage processes,revealing network-progressive failure in CRL-I versus directional-brittle failure in CRL-II.Furthermore,a damage statistical constitutive model based on digital core technology and mesoscopic homogenisation theory established quantitative relationships between microelement strength distribution and macroscopic mechanical behavior.These findings illuminate the fundamental mechanisms through which mesoscopic structure governs the macroscopic mechanical properties of CRL.

文摘This study conducts a thorough examination of honeycomb sandwich panels with a lattice core,adopting advanced computational techniques for their modeling.The research extends its analysis to investigate the natural frequency behavior of sandwich panels,encompassing the comprehensive assessment of the entire panel structure.At its core,the research applies the Representative Volume Element(RVE)theory to establish the equivalent material properties,thereby enhancing the predictive capabilities of lattice structure simulations.Themethodology applies these properties in the core of infinite panels,which are modeled using double periodic boundary conditions to explore their natural frequencies.Expanding beyond mere material characterization,the study introduces a novel approach to defining the material within the panel cores.By incorporating alternate materials such as steel and AlSiC,and by strategically modifying their ratios,the research streamlines the process of material variation without resorting to repetitive 3D operations on the constituent cells.This optimizes not only the computational resources but also offers insights into the structural response under diverse material compositions.Furthermore,the investigation extends its scope to analyze the influence of curvature on the structural behavior of lattice structures.Panels are modeled with varying degrees of curvature,ranging from single to double curvatures,including cylindrical and spherical configurations,across a spectrum of radii.A rigorous analysis is performed to study the effect of curvature on the mechanical performance and stability of lattice structures,offering valuable insights for design optimization and structural engineering applications.By building upon the existing knowledge and introducing innovative methodologies,this study contributes to improving the understanding of lattice structures and their applicability in diverse engineering contexts.
