Mechanical Properties of Remote-Laser Cut CFRP and Thermographic Laser-Process Monitoring

Especially when cutting carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP), it offers constant manufacturing quality. Since it is a thermal process, a heat-affected zone (HAZ) is formed at the edge of the cut. Based on quasi-static and cyclic mechanical tests on open-hole specimens, the influence of the process on the mechanical properties of CFRP is shown. The quasi-static tests are in good correlation with results from other researchers by indicating an increase in the maximum tensile stress of the test specimens, cut by remote-laser. The reason is the rearrangement of the shear stresses and a reduction of the notch stress concentration. However, the results of the present study show that excessive expansion of the HAZ leads to a reduction in the maximum tensile stress compared to milled test specimens. Under cyclic load conditions, remote-laser beam cutting does not lead to a more pronounced degradation than milling. The mechanical properties of the notched test pieces are sensitive to the expansion of the HAZ. For the production of components it is therefore necessary that the remote-laser beam cutting is carried out under controlled and documentable conditions. For this purpose, process thermography was tested as a tool for quality assurance. The results show that the technology is basically suitable for this task. 展开更多

Multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA) had been successfully applied to monitoring the batch and semi-batch process in most chemical industry. An improved MPCA approach, step-by-step adaptive MPCA (SAMPCA), using the process variable trajectories to monitoring the batch process is presented in this paper. It does not need to estimate or fill in the unknown part of the process variable trajectory deviation from the current time until the end. The approach is based on a MPCA method that processes the data in a sequential and adaptive manner. The adaptive rate is easily controlled through a forgetting factor that controls the weight of past data in a summation. This algorithm is used to evaluate the industrial streptomycin fermentation process data and is compared with the traditional MPCA. The results show that the method is more advantageous than MPCA, especially when monitoring multi-stage batch process where the latent vector structure can change at several points during the batch. 展开更多

Batch process is usually monitored by the method of multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA). In this article, a new batch process monitoring and fault diagnosis method based on feature extract in Fisher subspace is proposed.The feature vector and the feature direction are extracted by projecting the high-dimension process data onto the low-dimension Fisher space. The similarity of feature vector between the current and the reference batch is calculated for on-line process monitoring and the contribution plot of weights in feature direction is calculated for fault diagnosis. The approach overcomes the need for estimating or tilling in the unknown portion of the process variables trajectories from the current time to the end of the batch. Simulation results on the benchmark model of penicillin fermentation process can demonstrate that in comparison to the MPCA method, the proposed method is more accurate and efficient for process monitoring and fault diagnosis. 展开更多

In order to reduce the variations of the product quality in batch processes, multivariate statistical process control methods according to multi-way principal component analysis (MPCA) or multi-way projection to latent structure (MPLS) were proposed for on-line batch process monitoring. However, they are based on the decomposition of relative covariance matrix and strongly affected by outlying observations. In this paper, in view of an efficient projection pursuit algorithm, a robust statistical batch process monitoring (RSBPM) framework,which is resistant to outliers, is proposed to reduce the high demand for modeling data. The construction of robust normal operating condition model and robust control limits are discussed in detail. It is evaluated on monitoring an industrial streptomycin fermentation process and compared with the conventional MPCA. The results show that the RSBPM framework is resistant to possible outliers and the robustness is confirmed. 展开更多

Use of Earth remote sensing (ERS), permitting to obtain information from large areas with a sufficiently high resolution, can provide significant assistance in solving the mentioned problems. This paper discusses the possibility of using various means of remote sensing such as satellites and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), also known as drones, for receiving information in different ranges of the electromagnetic spectrum. In this paper, we introduce a system architecture for a patient centered mobile health monitoring (PCMHM) system that deploys different sensors to determine patients’ activities, medical conditions, and the cause of an emergency event. This system combines and analyzes sensor data to produce the patients’ detailed health information in real-time. A central computational node with data analyzing capability is used for sensor data integration and analysis. In addition to medical sensors, surrounding environmental sensors are also utilized to enhance the interpretation of the data and to improve medical diagnosis. The PCMHM system has the ability to provide on-demand health information of patients via the Internet, track real-time daily activities and patients’ health condition. Free and open access to the Landsat archive has enabled the implementation of national and global terrestrial monitoring projects.Herein,we summarize a project characterizing the change history of Canada’s forested ecosystems with a time series of data representing 1984-2012.Using the Composite2Change approach,we applied spectral trend analysis to annual best-available-pixel(BAP)surface reflectance image composites produced from Landsat TM and ETM+imagery.A total of 73,544 images were used to produce 29 annual image composites,generating∼400 TB of interim data products and resulting in∼25 TB of annual gap-free reflectance composites and change products.On average,10%of pixels in the annual BAP composites were missing data,with 86%of pixels having data gaps in two consecutive years or fewer.Change detection overall accuracy was 89%.Change attribution overall accuracy was 92%,with higher accuracy for standreplacing wildfire and harvest.Changes were assigned to the correct year with an accuracy of 89%.Outcomes of this project provide baseline information and nationally consistent data source to quantify and characterize changes in forested ecosystems.The methods applied and lessons learned build confidence in the products generated and empower others to develop or refine similar satellite-based monitoring projects. 展开更多

基于机器学习的加工番茄叶绿素相对含量遥感反演研究

叶绿素在植物光合作用过程中起关键作用,叶绿素相对含量(soil and plantan alyzer development,SPAD)是衡量农作物生长状况的重要指标。为构建加工番茄SPAD值的反演模型,基于无人机遥感技术,通过机器学习方法预测加工番茄4个关键生育期... 叶绿素在植物光合作用过程中起关键作用,叶绿素相对含量(soil and plantan alyzer development,SPAD)是衡量农作物生长状况的重要指标。为构建加工番茄SPAD值的反演模型,基于无人机遥感技术,通过机器学习方法预测加工番茄4个关键生育期冠层叶片SPAD值,并基于最优预测模型绘制加工番茄SPAD值可视化制图。结果表明,在加工番茄不同生育时期SPAD值的随机森林(random forest,RF)、支持向量机(support vector machine,SVM)、BP(back propagation)神经网络3种预测模型中,以多光谱植被指数为自变量,在始花期RF模型预测效果最优,决定系数(R^(2))为0.89,均方根误差(root mean square error,RMSE)为1.15;在盛花期SVM模型预测效果最优,R2为0.87,RMSE为1.46;在坐果期SVM模型预测效果最优,R2为0.88,RMSE为1.25;在成熟期BP神经网络模型预测效果最优,R^(2)为0.89,RMSE为1.07。在作物盛花期,开花过程会消耗植株内部的大部分营养,导致叶绿素含量发生不同变化,其预测效果相对较低,在不同生育期选择合适的模型进行建模,可以实现对加工番茄叶绿素含量较高精度的监测;SVM模型在加工番茄各生育期的预测结果和验证结果稳定性都较优,R2分别为0.88、0.87、0.88、0.85,RMSE分别为0.95、1.46、1.25、1.91,因此基于最优SVM模型生成加工番茄每个生育期的SPAD值可视化制图,实现对加工番茄叶绿素的动态监测。研究结果可用于快速、高效地估算加工番茄叶绿素相对含量,为加工番茄精准农业管理提供决策信息和技术支持。 展开更多

针对多种乳酸菌复合发酵的山楂酵素液,通过多项理化指标、特征性物质、功效物质的生产过程监测与研究,全方位掌控发酵过程中菌种及山楂药材的各项变化,为山楂酵素液的生产过程把控及持续的工艺条件参数优化提供依据,找到一条高效、稳定... 针对多种乳酸菌复合发酵的山楂酵素液,通过多项理化指标、特征性物质、功效物质的生产过程监测与研究,全方位掌控发酵过程中菌种及山楂药材的各项变化,为山楂酵素液的生产过程把控及持续的工艺条件参数优化提供依据,找到一条高效、稳定、可控的山楂酵素液发酵生产途径。采用合适的分析方法针对发酵过程中的中控样品进行高频率的多点精准监测,统计分析10项指标感官、pH值、总酸、可溶性固形物、乳酸、还原糖、金丝桃苷、总酚、1,1-二苯基-2-三硝基苯肼(DPPH)自由基清除能力、超氧化歧化酶(SOD)活性的变化曲线,评估各项指标结果与菌种和山楂药材微观发酵过程变化的对应关系,成功得到山楂酵素液发酵生产过程中的指标变化趋势,进一步得到pH值、总酸和乳酸3项指标,以及总酚、DPPH自由基清除能力和SOD酶活性3项指标的变化对应关系。研究能够较为精准、及时地监测并反映发酵生产过程中菌种及发酵液的变化情况和质量水平,可为复合乳酸菌药食同源类中药发酵及功能性导向的果蔬原料发酵研发及生产过程提供工艺参数优化、发酵过程监测的研究方向和应用途径。 展开更多

目前,遥感卫星对公共安全、自然灾害事件进行应急监测时普遍存在卫星任务规划不及时、遥感数据传输滞后、处理和分析耗时等问题,使得遥感卫星在应急管理过程中发挥的作用受限.重点研究了影响遥感卫星应急监测应用实效性的薄弱环节,使用... 目前,遥感卫星对公共安全、自然灾害事件进行应急监测时普遍存在卫星任务规划不及时、遥感数据传输滞后、处理和分析耗时等问题,使得遥感卫星在应急管理过程中发挥的作用受限.重点研究了影响遥感卫星应急监测应用实效性的薄弱环节,使用户可直接在地面终端监测任务规划和任务上注,在卫星拍摄影像时同步实现了遥感信息提取与地理定位.北斗通信系统将星上解译成果快速下传至地面,终端可自动监听、解析下传信息,并加载显示目标内容及周边环境等.搭建了仿真验证系统,涉及地面终端、星地通信装置、星务计算机、相机和星载智能处理设备的改进与联动配合.其中,智能处理设备负责对相机获取的图像数据流进行同步人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)识别,并对监测成果进行编码压缩等.系统部分功能已通过楚天星座首星的星上处理和地面接收试验验证,其时效性等指标达到了预期要求. 展开更多
